Today there was a lot of commotion in Grand Blanc Township when word started spreading about an active shooter in the area
There were rumors of an active shooter at a local hospital and rumors or an active shooter at an Arby's restaurant nearby
After talking to employees at the Arby's restaurant located at the corner of Holly and Pollock in Grand Blanc Township
I was told by Arby's staff that police and other local officials were lined up all the way from Pollock in front of their business to the hospital just down the street
So there was clearly not an active shooter at the restaurant
They also told me that local police sent drones into the air to assist upon their arrival to search for the potential shooter
So I reached out to the Grand Blanc Township Police Department to get some clarification
After speaking with Sergeant Tim Bueche
we can now call this not just a rumor but also a myth
While local police responded they contacted the hospital to let them know there were in the area
Bueche said, 'Either way there was absolutely no threat and no one was ever in danger.'
someone called 9-1-1 triggering the local police to respond
We still haven't confirmed who made the initial call
but in this case it turned out to be nothing
While police did implement all protocols in an active shooter response
it was later determined that there was never any threat
Residents in Grand Blanc and Grand Blanc Township can rest easy knowing that no bullets have been flying in that particular incident
I went to take the photo you see at the top of this article when I arrived on the scene and there was no police presence

Apparently, someone called 9-1-1 triggering the local police to respond. We still haven't confirmed who made the initial call, but in this case it turned out to be nothing. Every May, Box Tops for Education celebrates the educators who go above and beyond for their students — and this year, Box Tops is highlighting its recent $300,000 award to schools nationwide.
The funding — provided in December 2024 to 10 different schools across the country — is now being brought to life this spring, transforming classrooms, playgrounds, and student experiences through educator-led initiatives.
