A new Stevenson Elementary and athletic complex would be the completion of the district's facilities master plan The district passed a bond levy in 2018 that financed a new Larson Middle School and a completely renovated Grandview Heights High School Stevenson Elementary students and staff members would attend school during the 2026-2027 school year in modular classrooms located on the lawn just south of the new Larson Middle School during construction and would possibly share some of the Larson Middle School facilities during that school year What about the Grandview Yard? While revenue from the Grandview Yard development amounts to about 20% of the school district’s annual operating revenue, the district said in an FAQ that the revenue is used to cover inflationary costs and lower the taxpayer burden of the 2018 bond levy. Due to projected revenue growth of the complex for the district, Grandview Heights expects no other new revenue asks for taxpayers at least through 2028. night’s Division 6 Regional Semi-Final at Logan High School against the undefeated Grandview Heights Bobcats Running back Henry Ohlinger ran for three touchdowns of 50 yards or more and the Grandview Heights defense was stout all night long as the Bobcats blanked the Cadets 27-0 to punch their ticket to next week’s regional title game 51 and 76 yards respectively and totaled 235 yards in the game as the Bobcats improved to a perfect 12-0 on the season The Cadet defense rose to the occasion on the opening possession of the game as they forced the Bobcats into a three-and-out Fort Frye was able to move the football on their opening possession as they ventured into Bobcat territory before finally punting on fourth down Grandview Heights took over possession of the football at their own 20-yard line and it would take just one play to score as Ohlinger broke free and out raced everyone 80 yards down the sidelines and into the end zone to give the Bobcats the 7-0 lead The Cadets were forced to play without their leading rusher Clayton Miller who suffered a shoulder injury in last week’s thrilling win over Waterford but were still able to move the ball on their second possession of the game Fort Frye once again moved the ball inside of Bobcat territory but once again saw their drive stalled The Cadets tried a little trickery on fourth down as they tried a fake punt but Braxton Ross came up a yard short turning the ball back over to GH on downs The Bobcats moved the ball back into Cadet territory but faced a fourth and six at the Cadet 31-yard line Quarterback Jack Clifford went for broke on fourth down as he fired the ball into the end zone and 6-foot-4 Duncan Peters made an outstanding one-handed catch over Cadet defensive back Luke Phillis for the touchdown The 5-4 Phillis played the ball as good as he could have but Peters used his size advantage to make perhaps the biggest play of the game “That touchdown over (Luke) Phillis there really hurt us,” said Fort Frye head coach Eric Huck “Phillis had it covered pretty well and he (Peters) just made a great catch.” Once again the Cadets were able to move the ball on their next possession but once again they came up empty as their drive stalled at the Bobcat 32-yard line Fort Frye got the football to start the second half and were forced to punt the ball back to the Bobcats The big-play was the thorn in the Cadets side all game long and that was the case once again when on the third play of the ‘Cat drive Ohlinger broke free once again this time for a 51-yard touchdown run to give the ‘Cats a three-possession lead A 30-yard kick-off return by Phillis and penalty on Grandview Heights gave Fort Frye their best field position of the game and it looked like the Fort would finally get on the board when they moved the ball all the way inside the two-yard line The Bobcats bend and break defense came up big once again as they stopped the Cadets on four consecutive running plays to receive a turnover on downs for the fourth time in the game at the two-yard line Grandview Heights slowly moved the ball out of the danger zone before Ohlinger drove the final dagger into the hearts of the Cadets with a 76-yard touchdown for what would be the final score of the game The Bobcats completed just two passes in the game but rushed for nearly 300 against a very tough Fort Frye defense The loss brings an end to the Cadets season with a 9-4 record “It’s been a trying year and we have been through a lot of adversity even before the first game,” said Huck “They have accomplished a lot this year and I am proud of the season they had.” The loss also brings to an end the careers of six Cadet seniors including Miller even that regional championship team a few years ago,” said Huck “They have had a really good four years and we are certainly going to miss them.” 2 seeded Northmor next Friday night at a site to be determined for the regional title BELPRE — Federal Hocking’s Annamarie
