The former teammates ran into one another on May 2 at a Las Vegas Aces and Dallas Wings preseason game
part of the WNBA's efforts to bridge the gap between college and the league
was held at Notre Dame's Purcell Pavilion in South Bend
With so many current and former Fighting Irish players in attendance
it wasn't shocking that Miles and Hidalgo crossed paths
fans captured a very awkward (perhaps tense) exchange between the duo
and it's got so many people wondering: Is there possible beef between the two stars
Here's everything we know about Olivia Miles and Hannah Hidalgo's possible beef:
This is a developing story and will be updated
In the weeks leading up to the end of Notre Dame's season, the Fighting Irish didn't quite look like themselves
The team lost three of its final five games of the regular season and had an early exit from March Madness after a stunning loss to the TCU Horned Frogs
Days later, Olivia Miles announced her decision to forgo the WNBA draft
Miles wouldn't be spending her upcoming season with Notre Dame
she entered the transfer portal and eventually landed at TCU
did little to quell the apparent angst among fans
However, Miles denied any bad blood between the pair. "We are perfectly fine, y'all," Miles said during an April Instagram live session
Y'all are creating [it] out of thin air." Regarding the tweet that had fans running rampant with theories
Miles explained that people misconstrued its meaning
In an April interview with Mark Medina of Sportskeeda, Hidalgo publicly spoke about Miles' decision to join the Horned Frogs
If that's what she thought the best decision for her was
then that's [what] is best for her," Hidalgo said
But I'm really focused on what me and my teammates have going on right now."
Hannah Hidalgo and Olivia Miles have an awkward exchange at WNBA gameFollowing Miles' departure
there was little to no additional public confirmation that everything was copacetic between her and Hidalgo
things were eerily quiet until a May 2 WNBA game
The Aces and Wings opened their 2025 preseason with a matchup at Notre Dame
fans caught an awkward exchange between the former teammates
The pair briefly shook hands before engaging in deep conversation
Hidalgo initially says a few words to Miles before the senior guard answers back while reacting to what Hidalgo shared
Miles then continues chatting with Hidalgo
as the pair go back and forth (with hand gestures)
security gets involved and seemingly asks the duo to move out of the space they were occupying
It's unclear what the conversation may have been about
and made some wonder whether there was any turmoil between Miles and fellow star Hannah Hidalgo that ultimately prompted Miles to seek another school via the transfer portal
If that's what she thought the best decision for her was
But I'm really focused on what me and my teammates have going on right now."
It's unknown how much Miles and Hidalgo have spoken since Miles made her decision
But a video of them having an animated exchange during the Las Vegas Aces vs
Dallas Wings May 2 WNBA preseason game is turning heads
X user @katemartinlov3r posted a video of the exchange between these two stars with the caption
While it's impossible to hear what Hidalgo and Miles are saying to each other
both are extremely engaged in the conversation and point at each other several times
i need to know the TRUTH pic.twitter.com/tr3sZVm6IF
There's no way to know whether the two were arguing without audio. But regardless, it's still interesting to see them interacting in this way while Miles' leaving Notre Dame is still relatively fresh.

Hidalgo County leaders officially opened the new courthouse during a Thursday ceremony
The seven floor courthouse that’s nearly 400,000 square feet has state-of-the-art technology and new safety measures
Inmates no longer have shuffle past jurors in the same hallway
but Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez said there’s more work to be done
“We eliminated 450 parking spaces to move into this courthouse,” Cortez said
“We will eventually add some more parking to this area
so we just ask you to continue to be a little patient with us as we perfect the system around us."
The courthouse took four years and $192 million to complete
but delays due to moisture and stucco issues — along with ventilation issues in the staircase and elevators — held the project up
the county judge asked for patience as the old courthouse is torn down and turned into parking

Office of Field Operations officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge intercepted $2,700,300 of cocaine in a passenger bus
“Our CBP officers continue the tireless work of intercepting large amounts of narcotics to safeguard our border,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez
On Feb. 24, CBP officers assigned to the Hidalgo International Bridge encountered a commercial passenger bus making entry from Mexico. A CBP officer selected the vehicle for inspection which included utilizing nonintrusive inspection (NII) equipment and screening by a canine team
Physical inspection of the vehicle resulted in officers extracting a total of 80 packages of alleged cocaine weighing 208.16 pounds (94.42 kg) concealed within the bus
A total of $22,051 in currency was also seized from the driver and passengers as it was deemed to be alleged proceeds of illicit activity
Homeland Security Investigations arrested the driver and six passengers and initiated a criminal investigation
This decision shocked the basketball world and brought questions about Miles' standing with former teammate Hannah Hidalgo. Miles addressed this directly during an April 8 Instagram live
we're fine," after reading a fan's question that wrote
Y'all are creating it out of thin air."
Hidaldo did an interview with Sportskeeda that was released on April 13
she got blunt about her reaction to Miles' transfer
But I'm really focused on what me and my teammates have going on right now."
pic.twitter.com/2xbD6xvaE9
When asked about Miles' aforementioned Instagram live comment about their relationship, Hidalgo said, "It was good for her that she addressed it. However, she wanted to address it, it was good for her to address whatever the fan had said."
It seems like Hidalgo has more to say about this that she doesn't necessarily want to publicly convey.
and working to prioritize her mental health throughout it all
I met my now-husband, David, in 2014 when I was volunteering for the Texas Civil Rights Project. I had just gotten back from working in Thailand at Internews Network, an international nonprofit dedicated to training journalists and advocating for press freedom, and then Michael Brown was killed
and I wanted to do more direct civil rights work
I googled “civil rights Texas,” and that’s what came up
I was then working as a medical interpreter but volunteering at the Texas Civil Rights Project
and David had just finished law school and started a one-year fellowship there as an attorney
He never asked me out: I was the one who asked him out
We would sit next to each other in the evening
and I’d say: “I’m really hungry,” and finally we’d go out to eat
I think that encapsulates it: He’s selfless and he’s very sweet
Photo: Jath and Yhen Photo Art WorksAfter almost a decade of dating, we made plans to go to New Zealand in March 2023. I was doing my second Ironman there
But I couldn’t wait that long—I wanted my ring!—and I was driving my staff crazy every weekend thinking that this was going to be the weekend of the proposal
I went to see a play with a friend of mine
and then we went to the post office to pick up our packages
even I (with my famously bad sense of direction) could tell we were driving a different way
and I looked outside and realized we were in front of the Texas Civil Rights Project
David reminded me that I had to get out of the car for him to actually
so we were in the middle of the street when he got down on one knee and opened the box
David said some nice things I was too excited to remember
and I was finally able to update everyone I’d told that I was about to get engaged—which really was everybody and their mother
What I didn’t always tell everyone was that David had used the bulk of his savings to pay off a massive bill I’d received for my mental health treatment
which had the unexpected result of making me less anxious about marriage—alongside everything else—and finally allowed me to accept David’s proposal
One of the key lessons I learned this year was being okay with contradictions and dichotomies
I worked on accepting two conflicting feelings at once: like sadness
or exhaustion over friends’ illnesses or natural disasters in Texas or various work challenges
and that they could exist alongside the growing closeness of my relationship with David
and the joy and excitement I felt around wedding planning and making it to the big day itself
(I continue to believe this mental health conversation is vital for everyone—people need to know what mental health challenges look like and how we can address them.)
Mostly because of the people they brought together
from my mom’s longtime hairdresser and makeup artist—who changed my hairstyle three times over the course of the wedding day—to my best friend
who helped pay for my mental health treatment program and actually dropped me off there
The second was a more traditional—but still pink!—Romona Keveza gown
The pink was meant to reference my pink sapphire engagement ring and honor my grandmother
who could not be at our wedding because she did not want to leave my ailing grandfather’s side—but who also got married in a color that was not white
I wore an Olympia Le-Tan clutch that featured a tuxedo cat that looked just like her
There were too many incredibly special moments of our wedding to relay
but the one I keep coming back to is the vows
We got married at the resort Amanpulo in the Philippines
which is the only property on Pamalican Island
We love snorkeling and scuba diving together
so much so that our engagement party cake was made in the shape of a sea turtle
and when we held hands for the ceremony on a ledge overlooking the ocean and took in our friends reading poems
I was able to really savor the moment and lean fully into my happiness

but so was the small “paper wedding” ceremony we planned in Houston to quietly celebrate signing the official documents that made our marriage legal

Photo: Jath and Yhen Photo Art WorksPhoto: Jath and Yhen Photo Art WorksWe didn’t want it to feel like a wedding
but we also worked really hard not to let the election results ruin the day
David had supported me from the very beginning when I decided to run for Harris County judge shortly after Donald Trump was elected the first time
the various events that comprised my “wedding season” ended up boosting my spirits more than I could have predicted—especially during a time of political turbulence
when I and so many others desperately needed a lift
I wish I’d gotten a photo of that Philippines sunset—but the umbrellas in the wedding pictures look pretty amazing too
