A 32-year-old Holmen man faces criminal charges after he was arrested Jan
Becker was charged in La Crosse County Circuit Court with felony counts of fourth-offense drunken driving
fourth-offense operating with a restricted substance in blood and attempting to flee an officer and a misdemeanor count of operating after revocation/drunken driving-related
a westbound vehicle operated by Becker on Livingston Street in La Crosse failed to stop at a stop sign and slid halfway across Rose Street around 2:30 a.m
The complaint says Becker turned north on Rose Street and drove erratically
coming to a complete stop at a solid green light at West George Street
Police followed the vehicle into Onalaska and attempted a traffic stop
Becker allegedly ignored the squad car’s emergency lights
The officer discontinued the pursuit before notifying police in Onalaska
Onalaska police located Becker at Kwik Trip on 2nd Avenue North
The complaint says Becker showed visible signs of intoxication and appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic
He reportedly showed multiple clues of intoxication during a field sobriety test
A preliminary breath showed no signs of alcohol use
Becker was taken to a local hospital for a blood test before he was transported to the La Crosse County Jail
He waived his right to a preliminary hearing and has a pre-trial conference set for May 9

(WTVD) -- An investigation is underway after police said a teen was shot and killed in Durham
Police said the incident happened in the 300 block of North Holman Street Sunday afternoon
was taken to the hospital by a third party and was later pronounced dead
Authorities said the incident appears to be isolated

The McDonald’s restaurant along County Hwy
OT in Holmen will remain open after a new McDonald’s on Hwy
owns the franchisee that operates the current Holmen restaurant and also will operate the second restaurant
There’s news this week about construction beginning soon on Holmen’s second McDonald’s restaurant
the Buckle store’s move from Valley View Mall to the Crosseroads Center
and the closing of La Crescent’s Subway restaurant
Construction is scheduled to begin in early April on a new McDonald‘s restaurant along Hwy
an official of Onalaska-based McDonald’s franchisee Courtesy Corp

The restaurant will be built at the southwest corner of Holmen Drive and Gaarder Road

The store will be closed Monday for the move
Hours will be the same at the new location – 10 a.m
There will be drawings for gift cards as part of the store’s grand opening celebration
“We’re just excited for a new opportunity,” Barnes said of the store’s move
The new location is between the Old Navy store and a new Dollar Tree store that will open soon
A new Burlington store opened in October in about half of the former T.J
and Buckle and Dollar Tree will occupy the other half of that storefront
Maxx and HomeGoods stores moved early last year to the renovated and expanded former Shopko building in Onalaska

Tuesday was the last day for the Subway sandwich shop at 101 Kistler Drive
opened the restaurant at that location in 2006
I quoted a Rottinghaus official as saying it was moving its La Crescent restaurant to a leased space there because the building it had been leasing was being removed for the planned Hwy
The Rottinghaus official wasn’t available for comment this week on the restaurant’s closing
