Hugo Bueno has been on loan at Feyenoord this season
with Wolves officials having hope he would play regularly after struggled for minutes at Molineux last term
making 28 appearances across all competitions
he will hope to be building on this season in 2025/26 and playing regularly again
Bournemouth were recently credited with an interest in Bueno ahead of the summer transfer window
But Molineux News has also been told that Bueno could be Rayan Ait-Nouri’s replacement at Wolves next season
Robin van Persie became Feyenoord’s new manager
after Brian Priske was sacked for inconsistent results
with the former Arsenal and Manchester United striker winning seven of his 10 games in charge to date
It is a good chance for Bueno to learn from a top former Premier League player – and it seems van Persie is actually pretty keen to continue working with Bueno
Feyenoord probeert Hugo Bueno langer in Rotterdam-Zuid te houden. Het huurcontract van de 22-jarige linksback loopt na dit seizoen af: https://t.co/96gT4zpzjj
He is quoted by Voetbal International as saying: “In principle
We are looking at the option of extending that
We think he fits in with Feyenoord and the team culture.”
Bueno will now be having discussions with Wolves officials about his future when he returns to Molineux this summer
loaning Bueno out again next season doesn’t feel particularly smart
Certainly, if Rayan Ait-Nouri leaves then he cannot be allowed to leave. Bueno is perfectly primed to succeed the Algerian and would save the club millions on a replacement via the transfer market.
The money made from Ait-Nouri’s sale could then be used to strengthen other positions.
But then, even if Ait-Nouri stayed, Wolves should look to keep Bueno.
Although he’d likely want regular football, there could be potential for Ait-Nouri to play further forward next term – in Matheus Cunha’s position. Thus, freeing up the left wing-back role for Bueno.
A second loan to Feyenoord seemingly wouldn’t really help Wolves. He should either be kept or sold for pure profit.
Hugo Ekitike has scored 19 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions this season
While Hugo Ekitike's hat-trick for France against England's Under-21s in March will have boosted his profile further
plenty of Premier League suitors were already admiring the Eintracht Frankfurt forward
heading into a Europa League quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur having grabbed 19 goals and eight assists in 40 appearances
despite losing top scorer Omar Marmoush to Manchester City in January
Eintracht arrive in London third in the Bundesliga and chasing Champions League football for next season on two fronts
"Ekitike has had a wonderful season," Christopher Michel
football reporter at the Frankfurter Rundschau
"His technique is one of the best in Europe and his foot is like glue for the ball
and he doesn't care if the ball is on his left or his right foot - he can shoot with both
and this is a quality you need as a top striker."
Listen to the latest Football Daily podcast
Consistent goalscorers are football's rarest commodity and Ekitike will not be short of summer suitors
He may yet come to England - having almost done so in 2022
The forward was wanted then by Newcastle United
who had just been taken over by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund
Newcastle first attempted to sign him that January
but he decided to see out the season in France with Stade Reims
They returned that summer and reportedly agreed a fee - but the player chose French champions Paris St-Germain
Ekitike headed to Paris on a loan-first buy-later deal and counted Neymar
Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi among his team-mates
despite both Messi and Neymar departing that summer
He was left out of PSG's Champions League squad for 2023-24 and played just nine minutes in the league up until the new year
He subsequently moved to Frankfurt on 1 February 2024
before his loan was made permanent in April
Ekitike's breakthrough came at hometown club Reims
He signed a first professional contract as a 17-year-old in July 2020 and
spent the 2021 season on loan at Danish Superliga side Vejle
smiles when recalling Ekitike's stint in Denmark
and he liked to have some fun in the dressing room," Schoop tells BBC Sport
"If there was a song on the speaker he would be dancing
That's not really the Danish culture - most of us were more reserved
and even though he didn't play as much in the beginning
he trained well and had a really good attitude
"The joy he had for playing was amazing to see
or putting in that little bit extra."
Ekitike's pace and ability with the ball were clear immediately
but he was "lacking the physique at the beginning"
"There was a game against Sonderjyske that if we won
Hugo was unbelievable in that game," he says
"That's the sign of a big game player - to step up and find that bit extra."
Ekitike finished with three goals and one assist for Vejle in 2021
but "arrived as a boy and left a man"
Ekitike has scored three goals on Eintracht's run to the Europa League quarter-finals
there have been doubts as to whether Ekitike is ready to operate as a lone forward for one of Europe's elite clubs
he thrived as part of a more traditional front two alongside Marmoush - the man Ekitike previously described as his "partner in crime" - with Eintracht coach Dino Toppmoller identifying this was how the striker succeeded in his Reims days
Ekitike is rapidly proving the doubters wrong
Toppmoller has found a system with Mario Gotze as playmaker behind him," Michel explains
developed and now plays as a great lone striker
he only had a good game when he scored or got an assist
but now his all-round play means he can still have a good game even if he doesn't do that."
it will be for a handsome profit on the 16.5m euros it took to secure his permanent services 12 months back
While ideally any club would love to retain their top talents
developing players and receiving significant returns on their investment through sales to what sporting director Markus Krosche has previously termed "end clubs" is all part of Eintracht's master plan
"There is no alternative," Michel explains
"There are 10 or 12 clubs in Europe who
We saw it in winter when Manchester City took Marmoush
The same thing now is happening with Ekitike
"For the fans it is really frustrating and hard emotionally knowing they will lose their best player every year but it is the model
The club tell players that if they got an offer bigger than Frankfurt
Krosche has to fulfil that promise if a big team is knocking."
with Randal Kolo Muani- sold to PSG in September 2023 for an initial fee of 75m euros (£64.5m) - Marmoush and Luka Jovic - sold to Real Madrid in 2019 for a fee reported to exceed 60m euros (£51.6m) - all sold for vast profit
"Krosche has huge trust," says Michel
"He finds a lot of great talents in Europe and will find the next Ekitike for Eintracht Frankfurt."

Barra led Android during a critical phase and also served as VP of Oculus at Meta
by Chris Welch
it’s adding a well-known industry name to its board of directors
Sonos announced that Hugo Barra is joining the board to replace Mike Volpi
who is stepping down after 15 years — the longest tenure of any board member
Barra has a long resume that includes senior leadership positions at companies including Google
where he’s credited with leading “the Android ecosystem from nascency through its first billion users.” After that
he moved onto Xiaomi and spent three years overseeing global operations for the influential Chinese phone manufacturer
where he served as vice president of the company’s Oculus virtual reality division
He’s currently the co-founder and head of product at /dev/agents
which is described as “a software company building a next-generation operating system for AI agents.” For now
it sounds like Sonos is glad to have Barra because he’s got a strong track record of delivering results — but those AI ties might prove useful down the road
“He has a proven ability to turn cutting-edge innovation into great products — a great fit for Sonos,” board chair Julius Genachowski said in a press release
engaging with the leadership team and adding value.”
Sonos remains focused on delivering performance improvements, bug fixes, and new features (along with some still-missing old ones) to its mobile app on Android and iOS. As part of that renewed effort, the company decided to cancel its next hardware product

These results are expected to support submission of the Hugo system to the FDA for use in urologic procedures
The Expand URO IDE study (NCT05696444) met its primary efficacy and safety end points, supporting the use of the Hugo robot-assisted surgery system in patients undergoing urologic procedures, according to data presented at the 2025 American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Meeting in Las Vegas
an associate professor of urology at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham
“The Hugo robotic surgical platform obtained a CE mark in Europe and was introduced for clinical use in 2021
There are numerous international publications describing case series of primarily urologic surgeries performed outside of the US,” Abern explained
the Hugo robot is a multi-port robotic surgical system with modular independent arm carts
and bipolar and monopolar energy generator.”
137 patients were enrolled in the study and underwent a urologic procedure with the Hugo system
and 53 underwent partial (n = 36) or radical (n = 17) nephrectomy
The primary effectiveness end point for the study was surgical success rate
defined as no conversion (the case did not switch to another FDA-cleared robot-assisted device
or open surgery following the first incision)
The primary safety end point was the rate of patients with grade 3 or higher Clavien-Dindo complications from incision to 30 days following surgery
the mean time for robot assembly was 17.7 minutes (SD
and the mean time for docking was 8.3 minutes (SD
the mean time for surgeon console used was 156.2 minutes (SD
and the mean total operative time was 237.9 minutes (SD
Both the time for surgeon console used and the mean total operative time were longer in the radical cystectomy cohort
the operative times were longer in radical cystectomy
The urinary diversion was performed either intra- or extracorporeally at the discretion of the performing surgeon
which explains the larger difference between the console and total operative time in cystectomy
the warm ischemia time in the partial nephrectomies was 20 minutes.”
The surgical success rate was 98.5% (95% CI
which exceeded the performance goal of 85% (P < .0001)
both of which occurred in the renal cohort
“One was a communication issue between the console and one of the surgical arms
The performing surgeon did not feel comfortable performing the surgery with 3 arms instead of 4
the performing surgeon felt not able to reach a superior and lateral tumor in a partial nephrectomy
Both cases were converted to alternative robotic surgical platforms and successfully completed,” said Abern
demonstrating low rates of grade 3 or higher Clavien-Dindo complications across all 3 procedures
0.5% to 12.7%) of patients experienced a grade 3 or higher complication
which was below the performance goal of 20% (P = .0006)
which was below the performance goal of 45% (P = .0025)
which fell below the performance goal of 20% (P = .0001)
Regarding the trial’s secondary safety end points
there were 2 deaths in the study; 1 occurred in the radical prostatectomy arm and 1 occurred in the radical cystectomy arm
Both were determined to be unrelated to the study by the Independent Data Monitoring Committee
“The rates of high-grade complications as well as low-grade complications
and median blood loss were predictably higher in the radical cystectomy cohort.”
these results are expected to support submission of the Hugo system to the FDA for use in urologic procedures
and the 5-year oncologic follow-up is ongoing
The predetermined trial end points for safety and efficacy were met
and clinical results from this study are under review by the FDA.”

The medtech giant said it submitted its soft tissue robotics platform in the first quarter of calendar 2025. It expects the submission to propel it toward its planned entrance into the U.S. surgical robotics market. This falls in line with the company’s expectation shared last fall for an early 2025 submission
Medtronic completed enrollment in trials for both of those spaces earlier this year
Hugo is a modular, multi-quadrant platform designed for various surgical procedures. It features wristed instruments, 3D visualization and surgical video capture options in Touch Surgery Enterprise. Medtronic first unveiled Hugo in September 2019 as a potential competitor to long-time industry leader Intuitive Surgical
While this would mark Hugo’s entry into the U.S.
it’s currently in clinical use elsewhere
Its use spans more than 25 countries across five continents
Chair and CEO Geoff Martha said last November that
Medtronic wants to establish itself as a leader
“We’re absolutely committed to this … not just being a part of this
Medtronic said the Expand URO FDA investigational device exemption (IDE) study of Hugo met both its primary safety and effectiveness endpoints
The company labeled it the largest IDE study for robotic-assisted urologic surgery ever conducted
Expand URO included 137 patients who underwent procedures using the Hugo system
national principal investigator and urologic surgeon at Duke University Hospital in Durham
presented findings today at the American Urologic Association (AUA) annual meeting in Las Vegas
“The study demonstrated that the Hugo RAS system met the safety and effectiveness endpoints
and the outcomes are consistent with published literature for robotic-assisted urologic surgery,” said Dr
“Having performed the first case in the Expand URO clinical study
it’s incredibly rewarding to see the results of this rigorous and important study in the field of robotic surgery.”
Expand URO took place through 11 surgeons at six U.S
They performed three types of urologic procedures
Those were prostatectomies (prostate removal
Common patient cohorts had prostate cancer in prostatectomy
renal tumors in nephrectomy and bladder tumors in cystectomy
Medtronic said its study had a high degree of rigor
consistent with FDA premarket requirements
It included prospective enrollment and data collection and independent event adjudication by a clinical events committee
The study had data monitoring and strong follow-up compliance
with about 98% of patients completing 30-day follow-up
Investigators plan to follow all patients for five years
The study produced rates of grade 3 or higher complications of 3.7% (prostatectomy)
These came in favorably below the performance goals (20%
This met the primary safety endpoint for the study
the 98.5% surgical success rate came in well ahead of the performance goal of 85%
Investigators reported two conversions — one related to the device and the other related to patient anatomy
“The Expand URO clinical study provides important clinical evidence about the Hugo RAS system and is an exciting milestone that brings us closer to our goal of offering surgeons in the U.S. long-awaited choice in robotic technology,” said Dr. James Porter, chief medical officer, Robotic Surgical Technologies and Digital Technologies at Medtronic
“Surgeons want to deliver the best care to our patients and robotic technology is key to making that possible today by enabling minimally invasive surgery and leveraging technology that is shaping the future of surgery.”

19-year-old small forward is averaging 3.0 points
1.8 rebounds in 10.0 minutes through 50 games
He has built an impressive résumé as one of the top prospects in international basketball
excelling at the FIBA level at the U17 World Cup in 2022 and the U18 EuroBasket in 2023 and 2024 while earning a call-up to the Spanish senior national team in February
Gonzalez made his ACB debut with Real Madrid as a 16-year-old while leading its junior club team to Adidas Next Generation tournament championships in 2023 and 2024 and winning MVP honors with the junior team at the EuroLeague Final Four in Munich in May
Playing time has been difficult to come by this season for the teenager on one of the most ambitious teams in European basketball
Real Madrid is the reigning ACB champion and has played in the EuroLeague title game in each of the past three seasons
Real Madrid will face Olympiacos in the EuroLeague playoff quarterfinals starting April 23
Gonzalez's situation is complicated further by the fact that Real Madrid's season is expected to extend deep into June
which will likely prevent him from coming to the United States for individual workouts with NBA teams
Gonzalez has shown what made him such a highly regarded prospect this season
He is an explosive athlete with a strong frame who brings defensive versatility
high-level intensity and winning qualities on both ends of the floor
He wreaks havoc in passing lanes and as a rim protector while moving the ball unselfishly and flying out energetically in transition

Medtronic’s Hugo system is used in more than 25 countries
– the world’s largest robotic surgery market – Intuitive has a head start of more than two decades
Medtronic first unveiled its robotic program to investors in 2019
William Blair analyst Brandon Vazquez noted Monday in a report to investors
The FDA submission puts Medtronic on track for approval in urological procedures in the second half of this year
“While we are believers that Intuitive’s technology remains well ahead of the competition,” Vazquez wrote
“2025 is shaping up to be the first year with meaningful U.S
market entrants like Medtronic and even private players like CMR Surgical.”
Vazquez said that while Medtronic’s market entry does not “meaningfully” change Intuitive’s growth outlook
the new competition could lengthen selling cycles
“physicians often prefer to have options in medicine
which will likely give some support to competitive adoption in the coming years.”
Completion of enrollment in the hysterectomy and hernia trials suggests indication expansions are moving along
noting that Medtronic’s urologic study data for the robot was positive
showing high surgical success rates and complication rates in line or better than those published for other robotic platforms
Medtronic said the study's 98.5% surgical success rate exceeded the performance goal of 85%
On the company’s fiscal third-quarter call in February
CEO Geoff Martha predicted Hugo would contribute to growth in Medtronic’s surgical business in fiscal 2026 and be a “meaningful growth driver” for the company over the medium term

The Royal Academy’s latest exhibition, Astonishing Things: The Drawings of Victor Hugo offers a rare glimpse into the dark and moody world of the renowned writer best known for his novels The Hunchback of Notre-Dame and Les Misérables
The exhibition is set in exceptionally low lighting
a necessary measure to preserve the fragile drawings
which are usually only accessible under archival conditions
This dim ambience enhances the foreboding atmosphere of Hugo’s works
which are often landscapes featuring cathedrals that appear to be in ruin or emerging from mist or dust clouds
These drawings are reminiscent of Dennis Creffield’s gestural, energetic and dark, cathedral sketches
but much smaller and with a more post-apocalyptic and surreal twist
with its obscure imagery that recalls looking up a steep incline towards some towers
Looking for something good? Cut through the noise with a carefully curated selection of the latest releases, live events and exhibitions, straight to your inbox every fortnight, on Fridays. Sign up here
Other drawings in the exhibition are more surreal
One features a giant mushroom with a face looming over a desolate landscape
eerily evoking nuclear war (something that Hugo could not have possibly fathomed in 1850)
Windmill on the Roof of a Farmhouse depicts a windmill improbably emerging from another building
adding to the surreal quality of Hugo’s work
one of the first drawings visitors encounter is of a poisonous tree with a skull emerging from its shadow
The Serpent resembles a Chinese dragon twisting through the sky over the sea with a mountain obscured in mist below its fire-breathing jaws
The light specs illuminating the water add to the mystery
as the light source itself remains unclear
Is the light emanating from the dragon’s mouth or from behind the mountain
This ambiguity adds to the surreal quality of the work
The Bowels of Leviathan is one of the largest and most abstract pieces in the exhibition
possibly created with a large brush or feather (as suggested by the wall text) fills the surface
Vertical lines appear like prison bars in a dark arch (one of many allusions to Les Misérables in the exhibition)
while the title actually refers to the Parisian sewers – a recurring theme in Hugo’s novel
Several drawings in the exhibition can be interpreted as metaphors for political turmoil
while Boat without Sails depicts what appears to be a single piece of wood from a ship wreck
Ship in a Storm further emphasises the theme of stormy waters
reflecting the turbulent political landscape of Hugo’s time
His father was a general in the Napoleonic empire
resulting in his exile to the Chanel Islands
where he made most of the drawings on display
The Durande Ship After Sinking and The Wreck are positioned on either side of Octopus
a fantastical depiction of what lies beneath the stormy seas
There are two versions of Octopus on display
both of which would not look out of place as illustrations for a H.P
These pieces suggest a strange and otherworldly life after turmoil and the sense of uncertainty feels oddly present today
showcasing his experimental approach to art
these works are sophisticated and live up to Van Gogh’s description of them as “astonishing things”
Astonishing Things: The Drawings of Victor Hugo at the Royal Academy is a captivating exhibition that offers a rare opportunity to experience the dark and surreal world of one of history’s most celebrated writers and artists
The exhibition is a must-see for art lovers and fans of Victor Hugo alike
Astonishing Things: The Drawings of Victor Hugo is on at the Royal Academy
It will never not seem weird to me that turgid guffola like "Doom: The Dark Ages is a premium singleplayer campaign featuring three core pillars of engagement" have moved from quarterly investor statements to consumer-oriented marketing
that stultifying corpo-speak isn't the real reason we're here: We're here to check out a new trailer for Doom: The Dark Ages
revealing—for the very first time!—the Cosmic Realm
which has teamed up with Hell for reasons unknown but that are surely not good
I have to give credit to game director Hugo Martin for the remarkable flexibility he shows here
After reminding us about the game's "pillars of engagement," he effortlessly shifts to the horrific glories that await in this new realm: "You will bear witness to the cyclopean architecture of this Lovecraftian dimension as you explore its darkest secrets and battle its most insane enemies!"
uses very large blocks of stone connected without masonry; examples can be found in Crete
and the name comes from the ancient belief that they were constructed by the Cyclopes
The Cosmic Dimension does seem more pointedly Lovecraftian than Doom's usual take on Hell
although in a broader sense it seems to me like a distinction without a difference: They're both poorly lit
But it does afford id Software the opportunity to create some new enemies by reworking old ones as multi-dimensional "hybrid" creatures
"an ancient tool from dimensions beyond our own" called the Reaver Chainshot
which looks a bit like a handheld mass relay that fires a cannonball attached to a chain
light attack that will put a bonk on a single enemy
and a charged attack that will—back to you
Hugo—"unleash brutal long range melee strikes
turning your enemy's insides into demonic pulp."
"This weapon is unlike anything we've ever had in an id game," Martin says in the video
"It brings the fantastic melee combat featured in Doom: The Dark Ages to a whole new brutal level of bonebreaking destruction."
you have to admit that a "melee gun" is definitely a very Doom idea

but the manager is set to have a dilemma to tend to in the summer
It was only in December that Pereira arrived to save Wolves’ season, succeeding Gary O’Neil when the Old Gold were 19th in the Premier League table
Now 13th and safe from relegation, Pereira has turned Wolves’ campaign around resoundingly
getting fans excited ahead of the 2025/26 calendar
The summer is set to be a crucial time for the Wolves manager, who must be backed by Fosun; however
it’s not only in the transfer window that the Portuguese coach could find the resources to bolster his squad
Wolves sent several players out on loan in the summer, one of which being Hugo Bueno
who joined Feyenoord to experience the Eredivisie and the Champions League
Now coached by Robin van Persie, Bueno has generated a lot of transfer attention due to his impressive form overseas
something that Pereira will be desperate to see for himself
where the manager will make a decision on the Spaniard’s next steps
something that could spark a selection headache
That’s the opinion of journalist Nathan Judah, who predicted on the E&S Wolves Podcast that Bueno’s return could induce a ‘battle’ with Rodrigo Gomes
“I think it’ll be a battle between Hugo Bueno and Rodrigo Gomes,” Judah said, following on from his opinion that Rayan Ait-Nouri could leave Wolves
The Wolves reporter went on to speculate that Bueno would have the ‘edge’ over Gomes at present in the left-back spot
but insisted that the summer signing has the means to fight for a starting spot
“I think Hugo Bueno would probably be given the edge with his
going away a boy and coming back a man scenario
but I think Rodrigo Gomes slash Hugo Bueno would be an interesting battle.”
While Bueno has been perfecting his craft at Feyenoord, Gomes has won over the hearts of Molineux
giving Pereira two sturdy options ahead of next season
Judah predicted that the pair could battle it out for a starting spot at wing-back
Given what Pereira wants from his wing-backs
both players have the ability to excel in the role
as seen by their successes in attack and defence
There isn’t a lot to separate the duo, as Gomes and Bueno are statistically comparable based on their performances over the 2024/25 calendar
Putting the idea of having the two compete with one another aside
Pereira could find a solution to playing both full-backs simultaneously
as Gomes’ heatmap clearly shows that he’s deployable on either flank
Whether the Wolves manager sees the two players as a cause for a selection headache or a celebration for the future of the back five remains to be seen
CEO Geoff Martha said Medtronic would submit its application for urological procedures to the Food and Drug Administration by the end of March
launch for its Hugo surgical robot more than three years after receiving approval to release the soft tissue system in Europe
CEO Geoff Martha told investors Tuesday that Medtronic plans to file for U.S
market authorization with the Food and Drug Administration by the end of March
launch of Hugo in its fiscal year 2026 — its fiscal years typically begin in late April
Medtronic will submit its application for urology indications
Martha said the company has also completed enrollment in clinical trials for hernia and benign gynecology procedures
Medtronic is one of the companies looking to challenge Intuitive Surgical in the soft tissue robotic space, or at least capture some share and slowly close the gap. Medtronic received a CE mark for the European market in 2021 and has been working toward a U.S
and we've more than doubled Hugo procedure volume year over year,” Martha said
the CEO added that Hugo would be a “growth driver for our surgical business in fiscal ‘26
and a meaningful growth driver for Medtronic in the midterm.”
Martha did not detail what the expected contributions from Hugo would be in Medtronic’s next fiscal year. The medical surgical business brought in $2.07 billion in the third quarter of the company’s fiscal year 2025
representing a year-over-year decrease of nearly 2%
A U.S. launch for Hugo would come amid a changing landscape for soft tissue robotics
Medtronic and Johnson & Johnson plan to take on Intuitive in the space
as well as a collection of smaller medtech firms with specialized machines
However, Wall Street analysts have maintained that Intuitive — with its new da Vinci 5 product — would likely remain atop the market
regardless of which company comes after it
Martha told investors that Medtronic’s cardiac ablation solutions would become a $1 billion business in its fiscal 2025 year
with “line of sight” to $2 billion as the PFA portfolio grows
The CEO did not give a specific timeline for hitting the $2 billion mark but said it would be in the near term
“The $2 billion line of sight — they're not forward-looking statements
After ablation sales did not grow as expected in Medtronic’s previous quarter because of PFA supply constraints
Martha said that supply is “a lot better across the board.”
The CEO was also bullish on the future of renal denervation. Medtronic and Recor Medical are the only companies to secure FDA approval for renal denervation products, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service is analyzing establishing national coverage for the devices
Martha expects Medicare coverage to be in place within the next eight months
opening up a “massive” opportunity for Medtronic
“We're activating new accounts across the U.S
and helping them set up Symplicity clinics and establish care pathways so they're prepared to quickly ramp procedures when coverage is in place,” Martha said
this will be an immediate growth driver and will become a significant source of growth for the company.”

According to BILD journalist Christian Falk
Liverpool and Arsenal are both interested in signing Hugo Ekitiké (22) from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer transfer window
The Premier League club are eager to sign a striker in the summer
and the former PSG forward has been earmarked as a priority target
Ekitiké has had an impressive season in the Bundesliga
The 22-year-old has scored 15 goals for Frankfurt this season in 31 league appearances
With Omar Marmoush departing for Manchester City
the Frenchman has also had to adapt to leading the line single-handedly and has adapted to this transition well
Frankfurt are on course to qualify for the UEFA Champions League this season and will receive a financial boost
the club do not need to sell and are set to demand a hefty fee for Ekitiké
The Bundesliga club will only consider bids in the region of €100m for the former France youth international

There are new updates to the upcoming Craig Jones Invitational 2 (CJI 2) event
including some unintentional leaks from the promoter himself
Rivals turned teammates? Soon after they faced off at UFC FPI 10
five-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) world champion Victor Hugo might just be joining Nick Rodriguez and the B-Team crew at the Craig Jones Invitational 2 (CJI 2)
Craig Jones made several announcements for his upcoming CJI 2 event
but decided to censor the audio on some of the news he realized shouldn’t be revealed just yet
The biggest news he spoke about — but tried to edit out — was the roster for his own B-Team squad in CJI 2’s $1 million team grappling event
Craig Jones bleeped out the audio on his video, but it wasn’t hard to lip read and decipher the names he was mentioning as those who will represent B-Team at CJI 2. This included four pretty obvious choices from B-Team stable, along with one surprise addition as their “wild card” pick
So we stole [Victor Hugo],” Jones said on the video
Nicky Rod and Victor Hugo.] So it’s a powerhouse team I think
It’s going to be a tough team to beat,” Jones revealed
The weight divisions of the members mentioned are pretty straightforward as well, with most of the grapplers taking their natural divisions. Rodriguez will have to cut some weight to make -99 kg (218 lbs.), but it seems doable as he has showed up for his last three openweight matches at UFC Fight Pass Invitational weighing, 226 lbs, 231 lbs and 234 lbs
Should Jones’ announcement prove to be final
While CJI 1 champion Nicky Rod rebounded from that UFC FPI 10 loss to Hugo by beating ADCC 2024 double champ Kaynan Duarte
he has always had trouble that grappling style
The mostly dominant Rodriguez has somehow gone 0-4 against Victor Hugo
but it looks like he won’t have to worry about competing against him this time around at CJI 2
With Nicky Rod working with his normal foil
this line up Jones listed should indeed be one of the “powerhouse” favorites to win the $1 million cash prize
among the actual intended announcements for CJI 2
Craig Jones explained the role of coaches and the event having “Royal Rumble” style entrances
The CJI 2 team grappling format will have winners from each match staying on the mat to compete against a new opponent
Instead of a pre-arranged order of grapplers to send out like Quintet has
coaches will be able to strategize and decide on the next competitor to bring out on real time
Jones says CJI 2 will have a Royal Rumble style entrance and countdown timer to reveal the next opponent
and makes the coach so much more important
is this is what we’re borrowing from Royal Rumble,” Jones revealed
and then it’s going to be a 10 second timer on the screen
obviously Nicky Rod (as an example) is looking concerned on who’s coming next,” Jones explained
“So it’s really going to emphasize that excitement,” Jones stated
The $1 million eight-team tournament at the Craig Jones Invitational 2 goes down over two days from August 30-31
inside Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas

May 12 in Wilson Concert Hall in the Lenfest Center for the Arts

Unpopular opinion: We’re too hard on France
mustache-having colonizers offer us super cool Americans
The answer to that question is the contributions of one Victor Marie Hugo
Hugo was perhaps one of the maddest … and it’s hard to find other singular words to describe him
But there’s not much that can be briefly said about Hugo until you really start diving into his (impressively extensive) lore
When Hugo finally died at the impressive age of 83
the entire prostitution scene of Paris shut down for the day because so many wanted to join his funeral procession (which was followed by 2.2 million people
“Hunchback” is full of slurs and stereotypes about the Roma
yet a main idea is the harmful nature of violence against those who are different
but the point is not to decide whether Hugo is “good” or “bad” or whether to accept or reject him from some historical hall of fame
but to reveal a full picture of him—giving the bad stuff its own space but leaving plenty of room for everything else
but the celebration ended when King Louis-Philippe ended up being pretty “mid” at equally representing the interests of all Frenchmen
Things got worse when Napoleon III took over in 1848
and Hugo actually got exiled to England—where he spent his time draping himself aesthetically over rocks
thinking about democracy and writing some of his greatest literary works
a veneration that continued until his death in 1883
He is beloved by figures as diverse as Stalin
what do you think—was Hugo the ultimate mad lad or just a loony old graphomaniac with a cult following
It’s no wonder they called him Ocean Man—this guy’s got depth

2025) - Chicago Fire FC forward Hugo Cuypers was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 3 following his performance in Saturday’s 3-1 win against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in Frisco
The forward scored one goal and registered one assist in the Fire’s comeback victory
Cuypers earned his second consecutive weekly league honor after scoring his third goal of the campaign to close out a comeback win against FC Dallas
The forward earned a penalty after being fouled in the box in the 89th minute
making the goalkeeper dive the opposite way with his cool finish in the ensuing penalty kick
The Belgian was also involved in the first two goals for Chicago
Cuypers recorded an assist after a series of touches between Leonardo Barroso and Sergio Oregel
The forward then curled a perfect pass across the face of goal that found Andrew Gutman in full stride for his first goal of the season
Cuypers turned his back to goal to lay up a ball for Brian Gutiérrez that the midfielder shot on goal
The effort was spilled by Dallas goalkeeper Maarten Paes into the path of Barroso
who proceeded to one-time the effort for the first goal of his MLS and professional career
The weekly honor is the second in a row for Cuypers after appearing on the MLS Team of the Matchday bench last week for his two-goal performance in the Fire’s home opener against D.C
This was also his third MLS Team of the Matchday appearance overall after receiving the honor on Matchday 24
in which he tallied his first brace with Chicago in a 4-3 comeback win over the Philadelphia Union on July 3
That performance also made him MLS Player of the Matchday presented by Michelob Ultra
the only such honor for a Fire player in 2024
Chicago moves on to the second leg of a three-game road trip at Toronto FC on Saturday
Kickoff in Toronto is scheduled for 1:30 p.m
and the match will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV
It will be transmitted locally on wlsam.com (English) and Que Buena 105.1 via the Uforia app (Spanish)
Let’s dive into the best fits for Hugo Gonzalez among teams in the 2025 NBA Draft
The Brooklyn Nets would be a great landing spot for Gonzalez and his development
The Nets would get a high-upside player in Gonzalez
which is exactly what the franchise needs right now
they lack a crop of talented young prospects that can serve as the foundation for Nets basketball for the long term
Alongside the other draft picks that the Nets have this year
Gonzalez certainly has the potential to be a valuable player for the team
Every team needs players who can be a high-level 3-and-D wing
and Gonzalez can be that with development to his shooting
then Brooklyn will have a steal of a player
Gonzalez himself will benefit from being drafted to Brooklyn
Gonzalez will see his development prioritized over winning and he will have time to develop
Given that he didn’t see much playing time with Real Madrid
getting time to play and develop will be good for him
There won’t be heavy competition for minutes there either
Brooklyn will be a good fit for Gonzalez as a developmental project
Another team that can use Gonzalez’s services is the Utah Jazz
The team is essentially devoid of perimeter defense among their guards and wings
Drafting Gonzalez can serve as a way to help alleviate that issue
as he is a good defender who plays defense with an excellent motor
Gonzalez would work well as a 3-and-D wing for the team
the Jazz are in a similar position to the Nets
That means he will have the time to develop his skills without expectations
his defensive abilities separate him from the other perimeter players of the team
Gonzalez heading to Utah would work out for both the team and the player
The Atlanta Hawks would also make a good fit for Gonzalez and what he does well. The team can use an athletic wing that provides defense around Trae Young
Atlanta will always need more perimeter defense around Young
and his athleticism will also be utilized on offense as well
Gonzalez would be the perfect role player to put around Young
Gonzalez will get many great scoring opportunities due to the command of attention that Young receives from the defense
Gonzalez will be an excellent option in transition for Young
The Orlando Magic’s biggest need is no secret
one of their potential trade targets has been revealed as well
The Cleveland Cavaliers knew ahead of time that Darius Garland wouldn’t be available for Game 1 of their second-round playoff series against the Indiana Pacers
The Denver Nuggets surprised many when they turned their series against the Los Angeles Clippers around after trailing 2-1
