“I am deeply concerned about reports that ICE agents raided a home in Irvine. My office and I are reaching out to the relevant federal authorities and seeking more information about the circumstances of this raid,” Min, D-Irvine, said in a statement.
Agents with ICE, assisted by the Secret Service, executed a search warrant at the home on Thursday as part of a criminal investigation into an alleged “doxxing” attack targeting federal immigration officials, NBC4 reported.
The raid was not related to ICE’s stepped-up deportation efforts under the Trump administration, according to the report.
There was no immediate reply to an email sent to ICE Sunday night seeking a response to Min’s comment.

Fans were told about the award by public address announcer Eric Spivey
who was provided information from the baseball coaches
“Coach Dumont was a man full of life and love
He brought enthusiastic energy every day to the classroom and field
His dedication to getting the most out of his students and athletes has served as an example on how to hold each other to the highest standard.”
“Hudson Hall exemplifies everything this scholarship represents: resilience
Hudson worked relentlessly to earn a starting position—not through entitlement
and embraced every challenge thrown his way
“What sets Hudson apart is not just his athletic ability
He holds himself and his teammates to high standards
never hesitating to speak up when accountability is needed
but because he genuinely wants to grow and contribute everything he can to the team’ssuccess
“A selfless competitor and a dependable teammate
Hudson Hall represents the heart of a great program
He’s the kind of player who makes everyone around him better—and that’s exactly the kind of young man who deserves this recognition.”
“Adam exemplifies what it means to be a leader
Possessing one of the highest baseball IQs in our program
he consistently demonstrates a deep understanding of the game—and
he eagerly shares that knowledge to elevate those around him
He’s the first to volunteer for the tasks no one else wants
His selfless commitment and team-first mentality have elevated this program in countless ways—both on and off the field
he sets the standard for what itmeans to wear this uniform.”
“Owen is the kind of player every coach hopes to have on their roster
he doesn’t seek the spotlight or boast about his accomplishments
but his performance and work ethic speak volumes
Owen has consistently been one of our top players—both in termsof skill and attitude
setting a tone of determination and focus that elevates everyone around him
What sets Owen apart even more is his resilience
He has battled through multiple injuries during his time with us
yet not once has he asked to be taken out of the lineup
he pushes through adversity for the good of the team
“He has been and would be a tremendous asset to any program
not only for his talent on the field but for the character and leadership he brings to the dugout every single day.”

RJ Scaringe was 26 years old and just one day out of graduate school at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) when he founded the company he would later call Rivian
That was in 2009 – at the height of a historic recession
Scaringe moved the company to Irvine – and then took it public amid a global pandemic

Rivian has now provided more than 20,000 of 100,000 electric delivery vans promised by 2030 and is branching out with other companies
initial reviews have been glowing for the R2 model
“If Rivian can actually deliver this product on time
at the price it’s claimed and with the specs it’s promising
I don’t see how it won’t be a hit,” wrote one of the earliest reviewers
Rivian added to its string of good news with the surprise reveal of the fruit of a several-years-long stealth program: Also

Imerman also appreciates Rivian’s benefits for Irvine

shares insights about the sanctuary’s importance
Can you tell us about winter bird migration to the San Joaquin Marsh
the sanctuary is an important part of the Pacific Flyway
one of the four major migratory flyways in the U.S
we have lost more than 90% of our original wetlands due to coastal development
and the Irvine Ranch Water District created a managed wetland to benefit birds
What’s something most people don’t know about the San Joaquin Marsh
The marsh was a duck hunting club from the 1940s until the late 1980s
The hunters managed the property and protected it from development
The Irvine Ranch Water District has since managed this urban wetland
the sanctuary has the highest number of documented bird species in Orange County
the marsh provides good habitat for wintering birds such as American white pelicans
a wide variety of waterfowl and some songbirds
While the majority of those species migrate north to breed in spring
some species remain at the marsh to raise their young
beating two of the best players in the world before the French Open
He began the year hoping to – in his own words – “kind of break through” in 2025
Learner Tien defeated the player ranked No
the 19-year-old from Irvine took down the world’s second-ranked player
Tien hasn’t “kind of” broken through over the past few months
He’s done so in a way that has grabbed the attention of all of professional tennis
“You could say it was a dream start for me,” says Tien
“It’s something you hope can carry you through the rest of the year.”
Tien had reached a career-best ATP ranking of No
the sharp rise spurred by his victories over heavyweights Daniil Medvedev in Australia and Alexander Zverev in Mexico
The sport’s second major – the French Open – is late this month
and Tien finds himself thinking bigger than his original 2025 goal of cracking tennis’ top 100
it kind of feels like you’ve made it onto the real tour and you can start playing all the main events,” Tien says
He had so much success so early in life – winning his first tournament before he turned 6 and beating players twice his age then – that his future seemed sealed
he took a brief hiatus from tennis as his passion for the sport wavered
Tien bounced back with the sort of drive that led to him building a record of 76-23 in junior grand slam events
including a doubles title at the 2023 Australian Open
he turned pro and was the youngest player to compete in the men’s draw of the 2023 U.S
suggested what he would do in mid-January this year in Australia
where he competed in the tournament’s main draw for the first time
Tien collected the first official Grand Slam victory of his career by defeating Argentina’s Camilo Ugo Carabelli
who had reached the Australian Open finals in 2024 and has 20 ATP victories
Medvedev towered over the 5-11 Tien in every way possible
“I knew it was a great opportunity,” Tien says
“Those are the matches that are fun to play
You grow up watching those guys do well and win
Getting a chance to play a top guy is something you always look forward to.”
in a duel that lasted nearly five hours before ending a little before 3 a.m
At least one media outlet called it the best men’s match of the tournament
Tien walked in carrying a box holding a pepperoni pizza
He explained that the pie was going to be a “celebratory or a binge-y” type thing as a means of coping with what would have been a crushing defeat
it kind of feels like you’ve made it onto the real tour and you can start playing all the main events
He made a point to thank his parents – Khuong Dan and Huyen – who had stayed up all night in Irvine to watch their son’s stunning win
“I try to show my gratitude as much as I can,” Tien says
“They’ve given a lot for me to play tennis: sacrificing time
I appreciate everything they’ve put into my career.”
He won another match in Melbourne before losing in the round of 16
Tien was the youngest American male to advance that far in Australia since Pete Sampras in 1990
Tien backed it up by beating Zverev at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco
and advancing to the quarterfinals – boosting his confidence even more
“Knowing you can hang and compete at this level … win or lose
I know it’s something that will help me a lot going forward,” Tien says
With two giants slain and the world of tennis watching
he’s now looking for more as the early promises of 2025 lead to the next headlining opportunities
to tell yourself that in some matches than others
But I truly do believe that every time you step on the court – no matter who you’re playing – there’s always a chance you can win.”

Vote now for your favorites of the 2021 Orange County SC season.
The schedule has been favorable at the beginning of 2025, yet Orange County SC have not used it to their advantage.
Across all competitions, Orange County is just 2-1-2 in home games and 0-3 on the road. Orange County are still somehow 7th in the Western Conference. That win against Sacramento has done wonders for the standings with a number of high caliber contenders also struggling mightily to begin the season. Taking this into consideration, Orange County have been lucky to see themselves not get into too deep a hole to start the season.
But sooner than later they will have to start creating their own destiny, and the only way to do that is to start by winning games. FC Tulsa mark the next opportunity to do so.
Tulsa have found a number of different ways to win games. The first four wins across all competitions for Tulsa all came via a 1-0 scoreline. Since then, they have continued to win games and have started scoring more. Defensively, they have only let in four goals, which is tied for the best in the conference.
Taylor Calheira has been quite impressive in his first USL Championship season. The 22-year-old comes to Tulsa from New York City FC II where last season he had a respectable 17 goals scored in all appearances. Calheira made the switch to the USL Championship and has already been impressive scoring three from six matches. The key for Tulsa, along with their stellar defense, is a forward who can consistently score goals and Calheira has stepped up to that role to begin the season.
On the orange side of things is going to be the newest member of the Orange and Black: Koa Santos. Santos signed with Orange County SC last Friday and made his first appearance in their 3-1 loss to Las Vegas in the cup last week. Santos was a member of the Colorado Springs side that lifted the USL Championship title in 2024, though he missed the playoff run due to injury. With a diminished role to start 2025, he departed from Colorado before signing with OC to replace the injured Grayson Doody.
The only thing we can hope for is consistency within the starting lineup if they are to start stringing together results. The back line, for the moment, looks to be trending in that direction. It is really hard to say whether it is the offense or the defense that needs to improve when really neither has looked that impressive.
Doghman Brewitt Benalcazar Santos
Guimaraes Brewitt Latinovich Santos
If the comments made by Danny Stone after last week’s defeat are any indication then I believe that he is putting out his best possible lineup and fully going for the three points. This does mean War will start up top and the Partida/Scott duo return to facilitate things. Orange County realistically will need to get at least one to two goals if they want all three points with Shutler also needing to earn his first clean sheet of the season.
Orange County is looking to snap a 3 game winless streak.

The Anteaters are set to continue competing at Anteater Stadium
Graduating seniors will be honored in a ceremony at 4:15 p.m.
The strong start for UCI at the Steve Scott Invitational positions the team favorably for the remainder of the competition
creating momentum as athletes aim to improve their times and distances
- The UC Irvine men's track & field team opened the Steve Scott Invitational with three event wins Friday at Anteater Stadium
Liam Miksic led wire-to-wire in his fourth javelin victory of the season
He finished the meet with a best of 66.52 meters (218-3) to win the event by over 29 feet
Miksic is undefeated at home this season and has won six of his seven javelin competitions at Anteater Stadium in his four-year career
Angel Cordero also earned his fourth 800m victory of the year
marking their fourth victory against a ranked team this season
Key performances included Michael Crossland and JC Allen
highlighting a significant milestone for the Tritons and surpassing previous high-ranking victories
UC San Diego will face UC Irvine again on Saturday for the second game of the series
Success in this upcoming game could further solidify the Tritons' standing in the Big West conference
The Tritons' impressive performance against a top-tier opponent emphasizes their readiness to compete at a high level in Division I baseball
This victory may serve as a catalyst for boosting their momentum in the remainder of the season

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducted a raid on an Irvine home on Thursday as part of an investigation into posters placed around Los Angeles
The posters reportedly contained personal information about ICE agents
which took place in the Turtle Rock neighborhood
Secret Service and was not related to immigration enforcement
"I feel like I was in a movie set or something
The investigation traced an IP address back to their home
linking it to a doxxing case from February
where unauthorized personal information was shared online
According to ABC7
the agents seized the family's router and hard drive as part of their investigation
who was previously involved in pro-Palestinian protests at UC Irvine
is now seeking legal advice regarding the accusations
The investigation is ongoing
The raid highlights the serious nature of doxxing

Taiwei Ding and Sherry Yuan cook their own interpretations of cozy Japanese classics
Pork tonkotsu still reigns as one of the most popular options at Southern California ramen shops, but lighter styles of broths coaxed from poultry and shellfish are slowly making their mark on the scene. One of the newer contenders in the lighter broth scene can be found at Yakamoz, an Irvine ramen shop opened by chef Taiwei Ding and Sherry Yuan in December 2024
The shop serves a signature duck breast ramen
Ding sous-vides duck breast for an hour before searing it at high heat to seal in its juiciness; the tender slices are then laid on top of the noodles and broth
Yakamoz’s only other ramen features slices of American wagyu and slow-cooked tendon in a beef bone and oxtail broth
Casual comfort dishes like the Jidori chicken thigh curry
which rotates every few weeks as Ding experiments
Ding has recently added several smaller snacks like teriyaki fish balls
and crispy panko-fried shrimp served with sweet and sour sauce and homemade mayo
Ding’s focus on only two types of ramen is inspired by the Tokyo ramen masters; he says he would rather perfect a simple
clean broth than make multiple varieties that are less precise in composition
“The Tokyo ramen chefs I admire make 72-hour broths that are very aromatic and flavorful
your mouth feels clean — the broth is very clear,” he says
went to Tokyo last April to learn to operate Japanese noodle machines
one of which sits in a picture window where guests can watch them feeding it dough
Ding keeps 200 cookbooks in the kitchen and office
between “constantly watching ramen videos,” he says
While Ding is a student of the Japanese ramen style
The noodles at the restaurant stray from a traditional thick wheat flour ramen
and are made of both buckwheat and wheat flours
but this thinner buckwheat noodle pairs so well with the duck and doesn’t overwhelm it,” Yuan says
Ding often asks his Japanese flour supplier to give him new brands with which to experiment
His current noodle recipe combines buckwheat flour
Yakamoz’s cozy environment is the brainchild of Yuan
who wants guests to feel like they’re in a harmonious home
Tan leather banquettes fill a corner by a glowing model fireplace
and a large teddy bear perches in a small wooden child’s chair — waiting for his ramen
a stack of vintage Japanese records leaning against the wall
A local artist’s whimsical watercolor of the Parisian cafe Les Deux Magots hangs from the wall that Yuan limewashed herself
and neighbors and friends frequently drop in to socialize
Nearly every table orders a towering silver teapot with Taiwanese oolong; diners nestle into vintage wood chairs sourced from Yuan’s own house
Yakamoz isn’t the pair’s first foray into food, though it is their first restaurant together. Yuan’s family owned a franchise buffet restaurant with 400 seats in Chicago for 16 years, while Ding’s family ran a food supply business near Hong Kong for 37 years. Ding later worked in the kitchen at Tim Ho Wan
a Michelin-recognized dim sum restaurant with locations in New York
and Honolulu (the Irvine location is currently closed)
where the menu was set and not one he could experiment with
Guests might be surprised when a popular dish disappears
but Yuan says having no set menu — or even any fixed recipes — is vital to Yakamoz’s creativity
“We don’t want a fixed recipe tied to us,” Yuan says
“We want to be curious and try different things.”
That experimentation includes swapping the formulas for sauces
like an unusually smooth curry sauce made with varying ratios of reduced apple and carrot puree
as well as a squid sauce that Yuan says is beloved by their Korean American guests
“I change the squid sauce all the time,” Ding says
“My cooking philosophy is to always try to do something different
Because of the restaurant’s constant dialing-in
Yuan recommends not requesting substitutions
“Certain ingredients might clash or cover the authenticity of a dish,” Yuan says
and curries to really highlight the unique properties of the ingredients.”
He says he hopes that it’s the type of restaurant that people will return to regularly
“This is the kind of food you’d eat as your last meal before you die — simple food with unique ingredients
and rice my mom would cook for me,” he says
Yamakoz is located at 4250 Barranca Parkway #Q
and is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Sunday
