Donald honorably served his country from 1946-1947 in the United States Army with occupation forces in Japan
he attended International Business College in Fort Wayne and graduated in 1949
at the Evangelical United Brethren Church parsonage in Kendallville
Joan preceded him in death on September 24
working for 23 years with Fordeck Kemerly in Kendallville
Universal Electric and Kirby Risk in sales and as manager of their local retail stores
Don was very active with his church and in the community
He was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist
and Elks Lodge where he served as Exalted Ruler in the past
He coached Little League with Kendallville Youth Baseball
and he was leader with the Boy Scouts.
at home after an arduous journey with cancer that allowed him to watch his children and love
Tom was born to Heide Amrei (Barthel) Johnson and Arthur Virgil Johnson in Charleston
Indiana where he graduated from West Noble High School in 1983
He went on to study Civil Engineering at Trine University (formerly Tri-State)
Throughout his career as a Civil Engineer he worked at INDOT
and E&B Paving of Fort Wayne where he persistently demonstrated his excellent work ethic and exceptional people skills
Skills that acquired him countless lifelong friends
Tom married Amy Beth (Forker) Johnson in Kendallville
Indiana with whom he recently celebrated 25 years of marriage
Their love was a flame that shown brightly
Tom was an excellent role model for his children
and had a certain joy about him that #lled any room with laughter
and treated all of them as though they were his kin
Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Kendallville Elks Lodge No
which was something he shared with his father-in-law
he moonlighted frequently as a stand-up comedian for all who would listen
a vocalist who serenaded the masses with his karaoke
Tom’s most prominent feature above all though was his ability to love
and his fervent devotion to God only amplified this
He shared his love with anyone who would receive it
He loved everyone he encountered wholeheartedly
and diligently believed in treating everyone like family
so it’s imperative we cherish the ones we #nd
and strive to withhold the standard of love he believed in
Survivors include his wife Amy Johnson of Kendallville; daughter
Charlotte “Nicky” Johnson (David Collins) of South Bend; daughter
Tess Johnson (Rhys Weber) of Westville; son
Seth (Courtney) Johnson of Kendallville; Andrew (Annika Hawley) of Kendallville; mother
Matt (Natasha) Johnson of Syracuse; stepsister
Brigette Barber of North Carolina; sister-in-law
Stephanie (Sam) Hopkins of Kendallville; brother-in-law
William Forker of Kendallville; sister-in-law
Nanette Forker of Kendallville; grandchildren
Luke and Daisy Collins of South Bend; and many cherished nieces
Tom was joined in Heaven later that same day by his beloved stepmother
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday
Indiana with a Celebration of Tom’s Life immediately following the mass at the Elks Lodge
Jude Children’s Hospital or to Immaculate Conception Church for Masses for Tom

He spent 33 years teaching in the classroom and continued directing plays and coaching spell bowl teams in his retirement
They are members of Blessed Sacrament Parrish in Albion.

Bob’s dad moved the family to Kendallville in 1954 for work where he later met and married Norma Kay Wert on March 7
Bob worked at various jobs and learned tool and die and became a toolmaker. In 1975
they founded their own business B&J Specialty which has since grown into a multiple business enterprise including B&J Medical and B&J International which now employs close to 300 people
He was the hardest worker ever and loved God and his family fiercely. He was passionate about suppling food and toilet paper to food pantries

His favorite teams were Notre Dame Fighting Irish football

She also worked at The Nobleman Menswear store and Home Sweet Home Florist in Kendallville
She enjoyed decorating churches and reception halls for weddings and events and delivering flowers all over Kendallville and the surrounding area
She enjoyed working with people and meeting customers every day
She loved her family the most and loved every moment she spent with them
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents
Max Smith and Kenneth Smith; and two sisters
Janice Thacker and Evelyn Gibson; and a sister-in-law
Visitation and funeral service will be held Saturday
Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home
Pastor Philip Rigdon will conduct the funeral.

Art married Sylvia Sue Weimer on August 17
Sylvia preceded him in death on February 15

James also liked to listen to country and rock-n-roll music
Lynard Skynyrd and Old Hank Williams were among his favorites
He would give you the shirt off his back if needed
He was loved by many and will be missed greatly.

she spent the next 30 years working at Lincoln National Corporation in Fort Wayne
she worked at Parkview Hospital in LaGrange
Indiana until retiring in 2019. Rhonda loved being with her family and friends
and shopping for bargains at the Shipshewana Flea Market. She also loved taking care of her flowers and plants. She was a phenomenal cook. Nobody was ever going to turn down her homemade noodles or stuffed shells. She was a fan of Indiana basketball and enjoyed listening to all types of music.

Ohio — A Kendallville man died in a crash involving two semis just after 6 p.m
the Van Wert Post of Ohio State Highway Patrol said
sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Van Wert County Coroner’s Office
“The preliminary investigation revealed that Amie Marie Cook
was operating a 2018 Freightliner semi and was traveling southbound on S.R
49 and Williamson was operating a 2019 Kenworth semi and was traveling westbound on U.S
Cook failed to yield to oncoming traffic and began to cross the westbound lanes of U.S
