a pedestrian has died in a Fort Collins crash
the crash was at Harmony Road and Lemay Avenue on Tuesday night
Fort Collins Police Services reported in a news release
They said their investigation shows a male pedestrian was crossing Harmony when he was struck and was hit by multiple vehicles
The pedestrian was found dead on the scene when police arrived
Witnesses told police that vehicles on Harmony had a green light at the time of the collision
but police said they are still working to confirm that
Police are also investigating whether alcohol may have been a factor for the pedestrian
All of the vehicles involved remained on scene
The PulsePoint app that tracks the activities of emergency crews reported a crash at Harmony and Lemay at 9:49 p.m
The road was closed for 4½ hours for the investigation
Fort Collins police first announced the road closure about 10:15 p.m
The Larimer County Coroner's Office will release the man's identity
Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to call Officer Brandon Barnes at 970-221-6540
On Monday, a pedestrian died in a crash on Interstate 25 near Prospect Road.
Fort Collins city government has a goal of reducing fatal and serious injury crashes to zero, called Vision Zero
But data showed they've got a long way to go
Data presented to City Council this year showed injury crashes have more than doubled in Fort Collins since 2019
Bike and motorcycle crashes that caused serious injury or death were up 45% in 2023, according to previous Coloradoan reporting
Last month the city announced it received federal money for a safety study on the same stretch of Harmony where the crash occurred.
It will study the intersections along that four-mile stretch to produce ways to reduce speed-related risks and reduce severe crashes
It's also increasing speeding enforcement by camera
with most major streets being designated areas where police will be allowed to use cameras to catch people speeding and issue tickets
"Speed is a critical element because we know that speed almost dictates how severe a crash will be," city transportation planner Rachel Ruhlen told the Coloradoan for a story about the federal money

a 33-year-old Two Rivers man suspected of breaking a child's foot with a hammer
is facing felony child abuse and child neglect charges in Manitowoc County Circuit Court
Judge Anthony Lambrecht found sufficient cause to bind LeMay over for trial
LeMay entered not guilty pleas to all charges during that hearing
LeMay was arrested in March after an investigation by the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office
about LeMay in a matter that was forwarded from the Manitowoc County Human Services Department's Child Protective Services
the child said LeMay hit them with a hammer on their foot and leg
The child said they believed LeMay was mad about them not cleaning up dog feces in their shared residence
The child's mother also lived at the residence with LeMay
the child told detectives no one was around to see LeMay injure them with a hammer
When they told their mother about the incident
she took them to the hospital the following morning
but she did not report the incident and told hospital staff the injury was from the child falling down stairs
More courts: Damian Hauschultz awaits Wisconsin Supreme Court on decision to hear his case
Other incidents the child told the detectives involved LeMay shooting the child with a BB gun
holding them down with duct tape and drawing on their face with permanent marker
Detectives also spoke with two other adults in the child's life
one a family friend and the other a relative
both told detectives they had seen various bruises and injuries on the child since they started living with LeMay
They also told detectives the child seemed unusually hungry when they were around and they believed the child wasn't being fed well
during which he denied ever doing anything abusive toward any kids
various baggies with THC and a bag with brownies suspected of containing THC
LeMay is charged with neglecting a child and physical abuse of a child
He has also been charged with misdemeanor possession of THC
possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping
More courts: Manitowoc man arrested after tip from Bikers Against Predators sentenced to probation
A $12,000 cash bond was set for LeMay at his bail hearing March 6
Conditions of his bail include having no contact with the victim or anyone younger than 18 without approval from the Department of Human Services
He is also ordered to maintain absolute sobriety and to not possess any controlled substances unless prescribed
conditions for that bail were modified multiple times
The first time was a request to lift the no contact condition for one of the witnesses
which was requested by the same witness and granted March 20
The second was to allow LeMay to have supervised visits with his child
It was granted on June 27 on the condition that he not discuss anything related to the case with the child or in the presence of the child
His case is set for a scheduling conference Aug
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Angelina R
Scarpelli and presided over by Judge Anthony Lambrecht
Attempts to contact LeMay's listed attorney
for comment prior to publication were not successful

The story behind DirtFish WiM Summit’s move to LeMay – America’s Car Museum The DirtFish Women in Motorsport Summit will visit a truly special venue this May
Harold and Nancy LeMay were having something of a car problem
the housing of a collection which had reached 3000 vehicles
Their collection was already appreciated across America and at various events attended
but they wanted a more permanent home for at least some of the automobiles
LeMay Museum donated the collection to the public with the inception of a not-for-profit charity which would work to preserve the car’s history and its influence on American culture
but Nancy forged ahead with finding a home for what’s reckoned to be one of the world’s largest collections
the city of Tacoma gifted nine acres to the charity and planning began on building America’s Car Museum
Two years on and plans for the campus were unveiled
Nancy LeMay committed 975 vehicles and $15m to the museum
Fund raising continued with the hope of breaking ground in 2008
Those hopes were lost to the global economic downturn
a time which hit the auto industry as hard as any across America
The charity officials doubled down and secured funding from across 44 US States
four Canadian provinces and 10 foreign countries outside of America
the beautiful building – which will house this year’s DirtFish Women in Motorsport Summit – was completed
LeMay – America’s Car Museum is one of the most beautiful locations in all of America
Nancy LeMay was the first through the door following a grand opening attended by 1,100 guests
including Jay Leno – one of America’s most famous and influential car aficionados
There were 10,000 visitors on that first weekend and more than 100,000 had admired the breathtaking collection by the end of the summer
LeMay – America’s Car Museum goes from strength-to-strength
At its core it remains among the world’s finest collections of cars
telling the story of the automobile world from an American perspective in 165,000 square feet
David Madeira is somebody who understands and appreciates the American public’s love of the automobile
As President and CEO of LeMay – America’s Car Museum
David is delighted to align with the DirtFish Women in Motorsport Summit
He said: “America’s Car Museum is committed to celebrating our country’s love affair with the automobile
As such we seek to partner with like-minded organizations which promote driving and give the enthusiasts the opportunity to do so in the company of others
“We could have no better partner in this endeavor than DirtFish
which brings the excitement of rallying to individuals who have never had such an opportunity to test themselves behind the wheel in a dynamic
We’re proud of this association and grateful for DirtFish’s efforts on our behalf as well.”
LeMay – America’s Car Museum celebrates the US's love of the automobile
Marketing manager of America’s Automotive Trust Jake Welk added: “Education is at the core of our mission at LeMay – America’s Car Museum
which is why we are so grateful to have a partner like DirtFish
DirtFish’s work in the rally community – and the car community as a whole – complements our efforts in bringing like-minded organizations together to celebrate car culture and make it available for the next generation
“Supporting DirtFish’s rally and Women in Motorsport initiatives
helps us create more diversity for our collection and education programs at the Museum
ultimately expanding our audiences as we continue to collaborate and share resources so that together we can make a greater impact in the automotive world.”
Tickets to the DirtFish Women in Motorsport Summit on Saturday May 24th include exclusive access to ACM
DirtFish Women in Motorsport co-ordinator Josie Rimmer said: “When we realized we had outgrown our own Rally School property following the third annual Summit last year
there was really only one place we wanted to go
“LeMay – America’s Car Museum is a real source of pride for the Pacific Northwest and all of America
It’s the most amazing place; honestly you go there and you could lose days walking through the halls
“When I first approached ACM with the idea of moving the DirtFish Women in Motorsport Summit there
It still amazes me how quickly the Summit has grown and it’ll be a pretty emotional moment when we open those doors on the morning of Saturday May 24th.”
