One of the latest players to see his recruitment start to positive trend is 2027 Little Rock Central running back Trey Stewart
210 pound sophomore is electric with the ball in his hands and is capable of playing either side of the football once he enrolls in college
Stewart had his phone buzz plenty when he heard from a pair of schools currently competing in the College Football Playoff picture in Miami and Arizona State
and I'm feeling optimistic about my options so far," Stewart told Hogs on SI
"Recruitment is a process and the process has been nothing but good to me so far."
Stewart has received scholarship offers from Arkansas
his 40-yard dash is currently timed at 4.46 seconds and a 35-foot vertical leap
"I'm putting in the work," Stewart said
"I'm focused on getting better every day and finding the right fit for my football career."
Stewart record 59 carries for 522 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground to go along with 13 receptions for 107 yards
He was also a productive safety for the Tigers with 22 tackels

Stewart will consider his home state's flagship program throughout the recruitment process
What he does intend to do is keep his options open as it appears he will become a prospect with plenty of options to choose from before he signs his name to the dotted line on National Signing Day
"I'm definitely keeping Arkansas in mind," Stewart said
"The coaching staff treated me well when i was visited the hill and I can’t wait to come back
Playing for my home state would be great to represent
but I'm still exploring all my options and trying to find the best fit for my academic and athletic goals."
Central High School assistant coach Gabriel West speaks highly of Stewart's ability to make an impact at any position he's placed in
"[Stewart] is very shifty but plays super fast," West said
You can play him anywhere and he’s great."
Over the course of Arkansas high school football history
Central High School has set the standard of excellence for state and national relevance
The Tigers have amassed 32 state championships
44 conference championships and two national titles and multiple professional athletes through the early-2000's
third-year coach Anthony Robinson has overtaken a major rebuilding job to establish the Tigers' program to relevancy even if it means taking baby steps
Central went 3-8 overall in 2024 after losing 33 consecutive games dating back to its upset playoff victory at Fayetteville in 2020
Robinson and his coaching staff have a young but very talented roster to utilize this fall as 4-star defensive lineman Anthony Kennedy

Ferris retired eight of the first nine batters he faced
the lefthander hit a batter and walked another to set up a run-scoring double from Caleb Cali
opened the game by retiring the first seven batters he faced before a walk
a hit batter and another walk loaded the bases in the third with one out

Nick Senzel drew another walk to force in a run before a sacrifice fly from Ramos gave them a 2-1 lead
The score remained unchanged until Ramos struck again in the bottom of the fifth
The centerfielder belted his Texas League leading ninth home run of the season

The Drillers second and third hits in the game came when Fernandez and John Rhodes opened the sixth with consecutive singles
A walk and a wild pitch brought Fernandez home
Victor Labrada homered in the eighth for the Travelers second run
The Drillers closed the scoring in the bottom of the eighth thanks to a throwing error and a RBI double from Senzel
The third-inning run was the only spot on Ferris’ line
He worked five innings and allowed just the one run on three hits and three walks while striking out six
The outing gave him his first win of the year
*After a run of bad weather to start the season
Sunday’s game was played on a cloudless day in downtown Tulsa with temperatures remaining in the low 70s throughout the afternoon

His big game continued a hot spell for the outfielder
marking his eighth multi-hit game of the year
The catcher had to depart the contest in the eighth inning when he was struck on the hand by the bat on a swing from Nick Raposo
It was the third time in the home stand that Fernandez had been called for catcher’s interference
*Arkansas pitchers combined to walk 12 batters in the game
*Tulsa’s Aaron Bracho drew four walks in five plate appearances
It was the first four-walk game for a Drillers batter since Austin Gauthier drew four free passes against Springfield on June 14

Patrick Murray, a Little Rock native and owner and president of Murray Contractors
has donated $25,000 to create the Murray Contractors Student Support Fund at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock
The new fund will support student travel, competitions, presentations, and other enrichment opportunities that bring classroom learning to life for students in the School of Business and the Department of Construction Management and Civil and Construction Engineering
a 2003 graduate of UA Little Rock’s business management program
said the fund was inspired by his desire to give back to the university that helped shape his entrepreneurial journey
“I know not everyone at UA Little Rock has access to the same resources or opportunities as students at larger schools,” Murray said
“These kinds of real-world experiences—traveling
and presenting—help students gain confidence and professional skills that are incredibly valuable in business and construction
This is a way for me to invest in their future and in our local workforce.”
Murray Contractors has worked on several projects at UA Little Rock
including renovations in the Reynolds Business Building
the demolition of the former Education Building
and pedestrian bridge replacement in front of the Engineering Technology and Applied Sciences Building
But Murray said this gift offered a more personal opportunity to support the university community
“This campus has meant a lot to me over the years
and contributing to the student experience helps strengthen our whole community,” he said
“If we don’t support our future business leaders as they graduate from our own local institutions
The fund recently supported a student team that competed in the Harold E
Eisenberg Foundation’s Annual Real Estate Challenge in Chicago in April
Murray attended a presentation by the students and said he was blown away by their professionalism and preparation
They presented like business professionals,” Murray said
“I was incredibly impressed by their speaking skills
Watching that made me proud to be part of this effort.”
said Murray’s support and presence at the student presentation added meaningful validation to their work
“Patrick Murray’s contribution to the student experience was much appreciated,” Small said
“He understands the real estate development process and how important construction is to owners
This is the basis of the student competition
Murray in the room to hear the student presentation
He confirmed that their work is ‘real world.’”
Murray hopes the fund will open doors for students to gain experiences he didn’t have himself as a student
“I didn’t get to do things like this when I was in college,” he said
“I was focused on racing motocross and school
But seeing these students take the initiative to go above and beyond is inspiring
Those are the people I want to work with one day.”
He credits the encouragement and leadership of Christian O’Neal
vice chancellor for university advancement
as one of the driving forces behind his decision to create the fund
“Christian’s energy and commitment to this campus are contagious,” Murray said
“His passion for growing this university made me want to be part of that effort.”
Murray hopes to foster both educational excellence and a strong talent pipeline for central Arkansas
“Being able to contribute to UA Little Rock helps contribute to our own community,” he said
It’s about investing in the people who will help build the future of this city.”

(KATV) — The Little Rock Farmers Market is back
celebrating its 51st year as one of the oldest and largest markets in Arkansas
Located in the River Market's two open-air pavilions
the market offers a vibrant array of fresh produce
and live entertainment every Saturday from 7 a.m
Director of Communications for the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau
expressed excitement about the market's return
"It's so big that it takes up both pavilions
and it's right there on the river," she said
"This is the perfect day to kick it off for the whole summer."
Visitors can expect to find a variety of fresh herbs like rosemary
as well as unique artisan creations such as stained glass and jewelry
Lloyd shared a creative tip from her colleague
on using fresh herbs: "You can take fresh herbs and make bundles out of them
You can put these with your meats to season them
and you can just drop them right in with kitchen twine
The market is not just about shopping; it's about community
"It's building a sense of community
and I think that's always so important," Lloyd said
"We want people to surround themselves with their local residents."
The market also features the "Little Farmers Market," offering crafts and educational activities for children to learn about food origins and sustainability
making it a fun outing for the whole family
With new vendors each week and a family that has been attending for 51 years
the Little Rock Farmers Market promises something for everyone
and enjoy a day of local flavor and community spirit.
