and a 16-year-old male were arrested early this morning after a shot was fired inside an apartment at Uptown Village (3780 NW 24th Blvd)
Gainesville Police Department officers responded to a call about a person who had been shot at Uptown Village
the female victim called and said the shooting suspect had fled in a black Toyota sedan
Officers found the Toyota a short distance from the apartment complex and conducted a traffic stop; Glover
and the baby’s mother were reportedly in the car
and a Taurus 9mm pistol was reportedly found in the car
Officers who went to Uptown Village reportedly found the victims
and the male victim all live together in Baker County; they said the male victim is the baby’s father
but the baby’s parents are no longer in a relationship and have agreed to see other people
The male victim reportedly went to the apartment to visit the female victim and took the baby with him; the baby’s mother was reportedly upset that the male victim had taken the baby to the female victim’s apartment
and the juvenile went to the apartment to get the baby
the female victim let the baby’s mother in but told Glover and the juvenile to stay outside; however
Glover and the juvenile allegedly entered the apartment through the front door without permission
and the juvenile allegedly attacked the male victim; the male victim and the juvenile started fighting
and the baby’s mother to leave the apartment multiple times
When the female victim went to close the door
Glover allegedly forced his way back into the apartment
pointed the pistol at the male victim at close range
and the baby’s mother reportedly took the baby and left in the black Toyota
Glover reportedly admitted that the male victim had custody of the baby earlier in the day
but when the baby’s mother came home
so the three drove to Gainesville to get the baby; he said that when they got to the apartment
the juvenile and the male victim started fighting
but then he asked for a lawyer and declined to answer any more questions
A search of the apartment reportedly produced a single bullet hole in the wall of the living room
A doorbell camera reportedly showed Glover
and the baby’s mother entering the apartment
along with sounds of an argument and a physical fight
The video reportedly shows Glover leaving the apartment but re-entering a few seconds before a gunshot can be heard
Glover has been charged with attempted felony murder
He has no criminal convictions in Alachua County or Baker County
Judge James Colaw ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold him without bail until trial
The juvenile defendant’s charges and criminal history are not public
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies
The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
Ah yes….the culture of violence at it again
Par for the course… a hole in one (wall)…
That’s your “it takes a village to raise a child”…
A very sick world some people decide to create and live in that endanger everyone else
But never any real justice for law abiding tax payers
A search of the Florida Department of Corrections produced no results
God help this baby being born into such an environment
What was the motive for taking back the baby
Was the perp group wanting another baby to raise in Macclenny
They are not fit and no form of parenting classes will fix them

MACCLENNY, Fla. – A proposed 2,000-acre master-planned community in Macclenny is generating both interest and apprehension among residents and city leaders.
The development plan includes 2,500 homes, a community farm, commercial and retail spaces, industrial development, and a proposed flyover to redirect truck traffic away from downtown.
At a Thursday night workshop at the Baker County School Board, developers presented their vision to a large audience, emphasizing the project’s potential to create jobs and improve infrastructure.
The commercial and retail centers are projected to bring 1,500 jobs, while the industrial zone could generate 5,000 jobs.
Macclenny Mayor Mark Bryant acknowledged the need for growth but emphasized the importance of careful planning.
“People need places to live. People need places to work,” Bryant said. “But I don’t want communities where you can jump from rooftop to rooftop... and I don’t want to see us financially overwhelmed.”
Residents expressed concerns about the potential loss of Macclenny’s small-town charm and the strain on local resources.
One woman compared the situation to her husband’s hometown in Texas, which grew into a suburb of Houston.
“I hear the stories of how it used to be. It is not a charming small town. It is a suburb of Houston, and it’s just a very tragic loss,” she said.
Former city commissioner Phil Rhoden voiced support for growth but urged caution.
“Hopefully, they’re going to be amenable to compromising on the density. The city of Macclenny right now is 7,000 people. A buildout like this will be approximately 10,000 people. We can’t take that at one shot,” Rhoden said.
Thursday’s workshop was the first step in the planning process. The next step will involve the developers presenting their proposal at a regular city commission meeting, according to Bryant.

Macclenny city officials and the public are invited to learn about the preliminary plans for some 2000-plus acres of LaBuena Farms-owned property east of the City of Macclenny between US 90 and the interstate that could be up for annexation into the city limits in the near future
To that end, development consultants with England-Thims & Miller (ETM) will be hosting a workshop with Maccenny city commissioners and open to the public on January 9 at 6 p.m.
They’re expected to discuss potential plans of developer Richard Schulz
who is interested in building a mixed-used residential
and industrial development with thousands of new homes and the businesses and infrastructure to serve them
drainage- and road-related construction work that would be necessary
City manager Mike Griffis said this week the developer intends to construct an access roadway from on SR 228 South near the Walmart Supercenter that would run north and east through the LaBuena Farms property
And because the city does not presently have enough water and sewer system capacity to service such a large-scale development
he said the developer would need to fund capacity increases at the city’s water and wastewater treatment plants (or build new ones) in addition to running water and sewer lines for the new development and connecting them to the existing city distribution systems
The access road could connect to the state-funded portion of Midpoint Parkway now in the design and permitting stage in partnership with the county and its engineers
It’s proposed to begin at US 90 near the Walmart Distribution Center and run southeast towards the city
The state is funding some $3 million of the cost for the northeastern portion of Midpoint Parkway including a flyover above railroad tracks but the county had to purchase air rights to accommodate the span from the railroad company
The Schulco development would be the largest proposed in the county since a South Florida real estate developer eyed thousands of acres north of Glen St
Mary in the mid-2000s before the housing market crash and Great Recession of 2008 killed the plans
While no decisions are expected during the January 9 workshop
residents and commissioners will have an opportunity to learn more about the developer’s plans and ask questions of the consultants with ETM

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. – A 20-year-old man has been identified as the person who lost their life in a shooting in Baker County on Friday night
RELATED: Jacksonville 18-year-old arrested for shooting juvenile at Oakleaf soccer field, deputies say
According to the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened near the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Woodlawn Road in Macclenny and started as a fight between seven people.
Officials also said that the seven people were comprised of five young adults and two juveniles, all of whom were males, who met at the location specifically to fight.
The fight then turned into a shooting, which led to the 20-year-old’s death.
Two other individuals were injured in the fight and were taken to the hospital for urgent care.
Deputies said they have identified all individuals involved, including the shooter, adding that there are no threats to the community. They also said all seven people involved were friends.
Detectives said they are still working to determine what led up to the fight, but they do know that the planned fight occurred due to something that happened the day before.
The agency said it still hasn’t spoken to three of the seven who were involved in the incident, including the two who remain in the hospital.
No arrests have been made as law enforcement continues to piece together the full story.
The undersheriff says the agency is expecting to conduct more interviews throughout the upcoming week.
