American company Mack Trucks will add a third electric model to its portfolio, and this time it’s a direct competitor to the Tesla Semi
The battery-powered Mack Pioneer will go on sale next year with a maximum estimated driving range of over 300 miles
which is based on the latest-generation Class 8 truck with the same name
the electric rig was designed for trips of up to 300 miles
as well as low-speed operations around ports and transport hubs
Two cab types will be available: a Day Cab and a 44-inch Short Sleeper
As a reminder, the Tesla Semis in PepsiCo’s fleet—the only one in commercial operation so far—usually travel less than 100 miles on a daily basis
despite Tesla advertising between 300 and 500 miles on a full charge
That fits perfectly with what Mack’s Pioneer will be able to handle
there’s one big differentiating factor that could still keep the Semi ahead of the Pioneer
Mack has been tight-lipped about its Class 8 hauler’s charging capabilities
Mack’s other electric trucks can charge at up to 150 kW
the Proterra H2-23 battery that will power the Mack Pioneer EV has been rigorously tested in-house to make sure it can withstand the hardships of the heavy-duty truck market
as well as delivering fast charging speeds
The battery sends electricity to Mack's in-house e-axle
The combustion-powered Pioneer truck is touted by Mack as being its most fuel-efficient model ever
with an 11% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to the equivalent prior model
While the powertrain and transmission upgrades of the diesel-powered Pioneer won’t have an impact on the electric version’s efficiency
which replaces traditional side mirrors with cameras
can deliver about 1% in fuel savings for fleets
The Tesla Semi also uses video cameras instead of mirrors to boost efficiency
The Pioneer will be Mack Trucks’ third electric model, after the utility-oriented LR and medium-duty MD

It wouldn't be a major sporting event without Mattress Mack
and there a few events each year the Houston furniture store magnet loves more than the Kentucky Derby
Mack lost again in 2023 after putting another $1.2 million on Angel of Empire
So who did Mack bet on for the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby
It wouldn't have been surprising if Mack sat out the Derby altogether this year after he lost $1.5 million betting on Texas to win the College Football Playoff as well as another $500,000 lost on Texas to win the SEC championship
Instead Mack made another signature arrival in Louisville on Saturday
Best of luck to those who tail (or fade) whichever horse Mack favors
University of Missouri men's basketball continued to add to its signing class on Monday
Mack scored in double figures during his first two collegiate seasons – averaging 10.8 points per game
the 6-foot-4 guard originally from Chicago has amassed 724 points
111 assists and 75 steals in 67 games during his first two college campaigns
"Sebastian is another player with high-major experience, enjoying a lot of success in his two seasons in the Pac-12 and Big Ten," said Whitten Family Head Coach Dennis Gates
"He is a player that embodies our identity of tough
physical and disruptive and is a downhill guard that will excel on both ends of the floor with our team
We value his ability to get to the free-throw line and he is a player that can help take this team to another level."
Named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team during the 2023-24 season
Mack averaged 12.1 points during his rookie campaign before following up with an average of 9.6 points as a sophomore
He also ranks as one of the best at reaching the free-throw line during his first two seasons – placing in the top 125 nationally in both of his campaigns in fouls drawn per 40 minutes
while ranking fifth in the Pac 12 in free-throw attempts in 2023-24 with 172
Mack has scored in double figures a total of 37 times in 67 collegiate games
scoring at least 20 points on seven occasions
Mack joined the Bruins ranked as high as No
He was named Nevada Class 5A Offensive Player of the Year after averaging 24.0 points
6.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game for Coronado High School in Henderson
Mack is the third signee for the Tigers during the spring period
joining Jevon Porter and Luke Northweather
The trio joins a Mizzou program that earned its second NCAA Tournament bid in three seasons
posted three top-five wins for the first time since 1988-89 and finished sixth in a SEC that earned a record 14 bids to the NCAA Tournament

Numbers continue to tick upwards with a week and a half left in the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes’ fishing competition
This year’s Spring Mack Days has set a new record for the number of lake trout caught in the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes’ (CSKT) flagship fishing contest
which was first organized 23 years ago to help keep Flathead Lake’s population of aquatic invaders in check
anglers had reeled in a whopping 46,586 fish
That’s 6,224 beyond the previous record from 2019 with 40,362 entries
Not to mention there is still time left before the contest closes
said the record-high number of mostly juvenile lake trout serves as an indicator of the suppression program’s success
while also signaling a shift in the age classification of fish that anglers are landing
which now account for the majority of contest entries
Although Hansen anticipated changes to the lake trout age classifications occurring at some point
it’s happening earlier than anticipated
“When we began our management efforts to reduce the number of lake trout
we were able to look at other systems where this kind of work has been done
we knew what the scenario would be,” Hansen said
but it did catch us a little by surprise how quickly it happened.”

The deep-water fish population skyrocketed after the introduction of mysis shrimp to the lake in 1981
snuffing out the native bright red Kokanee salmon population by 1989 before moving on to drastically impact native westslope cutthroat and bull trout populations
the CSKT and Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks (FWP) adopted the Flathead Lake and River Fisheries Co-Management Plan
with a goal to “increase and protect native trout populations” and “balance tradeoffs between native species conservation and nonnative species reduction to maintain a viable recreational/subsistence fishery.” In a culmination of suppression efforts
the CSKT’s added the Implementation Plan for Lake Trout Suppression in 2014
the Tribes biannual fishing contest has played an integral role in downsizing the lake trout population alongside its gillnetting program
harvesting 718,351 lake trout in fall and spring Mack Day events between 2002 and 2022
Reducing an overly abundant population of a single species
also reduces the competition within the population
an opportunistic and sometimes cannibalistic feeder
lowering the numbers of adults gives juvenile fish a higher chance of survival because there isn’t the same level of intraspecies competition and predation as before
“The stimulation of juveniles is kind of like thinning your garden and getting sunlight in,” he said
“That’s what the lake trout population is doing.”
For a fishing contest that enlists anglers to help suppress lake trout populations
and incentivizes their participation by offering prize money
the fiscal consequences of reaching this era of abundant
adolescent lake trout is already registering in CSKT’s budget
anglers have a chance to win lottery drawings
or cash in on tagged trout assigned high-dollar prize money
There are also cash awards for smallest trout
and “golden” (age 70 and older)
By the end of the fifth week of this spring’s contest
anglers touting huge hauls had already surpassed the contest’s $225,000 budget
biologists recalculated awards for tagged lake trout starting April 23 and extending through the contest’s conclusion on May 10 to help reduce risk and liability for the event if one is caught
normally ranging between $100 and $500 and some between $1,000 and $5,000
Even though the prize money revisions force CSKT to make shifts and sacrifices to fund the remaining Spring Mack Days awards
and is costing more than we thought for this particular event,” Hansen said
“Had we known we would have budgeted in advance
because this is what we’re trying to achieve
There’s a lot of juveniles and we need to get them to the right level.”
a CSKT fisheries specialist who oversees Mack Days
said that a few years ago the team had looked into buying insurance to cover the high-dollar prizes
but that the insurance overhead was too high
“It’s a little disappointing to some people
but there’s still $100 out there,” said Bras-Benson
“That’s more than you had when you went out.”
With the goal to manage lake trout down to a “fishable population,” with low enough numbers for other native trout populations to thrive
with plans to budget future events for the next step in fishing down the juvenile trout to a manageable level
“It’s a dynamic condition that just takes time to reach the balance that we’re describing to achieve,” he said
it reached its own equilibrium and stability over time
we brought in all these new species that interacted in an entirely different way
those new species would completely take over
and that’s what we’re working through.”
Bras-Benson said there were seven anglers out on the water Wednesday
Spring Mack Days runs until May 10

ANAHEIM, California—Just days after launching a diesel-powered long-haul tractor, Mack Trucks is already looking ahead to its electrification
But the Bulldog’s engine still barks
“Why did we bring a diesel truck to a clean transportation show?” he asked during a media event on the expansive Advanced Clean Transportation Expo show floor.
One reason is that Mack leaders wanted to showcase the new ultra-aerodynamic highway truck
The Pioneer is Mack’s most efficient Class 8 diesel—gaining 11% more fuel economy than the Mack Anthem.
Another reason is that there’s more than one way to fuel transportation’s transformation.
“It’s important the industry is starting to really realize that the road to cleaner transportation is one of multiple parallel paths,” Fernando Couceiro
“There’s not one single solution—as long as we transition from where we are today.”
See also: What are other fuels that trucking can use?
Couceiro said that along with battery-electric and fuel cell electric
“the combustion engine has a very important role to play.” Instead of fossil-fuel diesel
trucking can run on low-carbon biofuels such as renewable diesel
Randall noted that simply updating to more efficient diesel equipment is a straightforward way to increase efficiency without worrying about alternative power sources
so I’m pleased to say that starting next year
you will be able to order the Mack Pioneer as a battery-electric truck using Proterra batteries and Mack’s proprietary e-axle,” he said.
the EV Pioneer will be available as a day cab or 44-in
The Mack Pioneer Electric will feature an entirely in-house electric platform utilizing Mack’s proprietary e-axle and Proterra batteries
Proterra has offices in California and South Carolina
The Proterra H2-23 battery has been rigorously tested to ensure it can withstand the most demanding environments while also charging quickly
The compact battery pack is designed with advanced active and passive safety features to mitigate risks and ensure optimal on-road performance
The Pioneer BEV will be based on the diesel-powered Mack Pioneer
which comes in four sleeper configurations and as a day cab.

And it’s scary to think that that happens in this world today
It really does make you reevaluate what you mean to your employer
Or what you don’t mean to your employer,” says Nicole DeFuso

Mack Truck workers went on strike to win a new agreement at the iconic truck maker
the company falsely represented plans to further invest in Pennsylvania
the company has broken ground to build a facility in Monterrey
where workers are likely to make less than $4 an hour
The UAW has filed Unfair Labor Practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board over the company’s bad faith bargaining
Mack’s decision to build a plant in Mexico—rather than keeping production in the United States—is the direct result of disastrous trade policies such as NAFTA and its successor
“The products are being sold for the same amount if not more
But that’s all going into the pockets of the corporations,” says Michael Shupp
The newly released video provides firsthand accounts from UAW Local 677 members
who express their concerns about job security
It calls out the bipartisan failure to protect American workers from these trade policies
which have fueled a race to the bottom in wages and working conditions
allowing corporations like Mack to exploit cheaper labor abroad at the expense of U.S
The UAW has been vocal in demanding the immediate renegotiation of the USMCA
so-called “free trade” has devastated the working class
Corporations have driven a relentless race to the bottom
killing good blue-collar jobs in America while exploiting workers in other countries with poverty wages
The union has also encouraged the use of tariffs as a tool in the fight to undo the injustice of anti-worker trade deals
Now you read up on this stuff and you see how much destruction that certain things can have,” says DeFuso
“We need to have laws that are going to support us and not have to be worried about potentially losing our jobs,” says Dan Hand
The union has expressed that if corporate America chooses to jack up prices on the working class or throw their own workers under the bus just to avoid paying their fair share
The working class took the full hit when NAFTA hollowed out manufacturing towns like those in the Lehigh Valley
and they shouldn’t bear the brunt of undoing it
The UAW is actively engaged in negotiations with the Trump Administration regarding its plans to end the free trade disaster
The union is looking to negotiate the terms of the upcoming auto tariffs in April in a way that benefits the working class
The union is demanding serious action to incentivize companies to change their behavior
The policies that reflect trade have not been on the worker side for many years
Collateral damage basically to someone’s stroke of a pen
When the company is looking at where they can go
they’re going to find the cheapest place possible
GM was moving to Mexico because they could pay their employees $0.48 an hour
Mack is currently moving to Mexico because they can pay their employees $3 to $4 an hour
or what you don’t mean to your employer
and I’m actually concerned about the longevity of the plant
But now you read up on this stuff and you see how much destruction that certain things can have
We need to have laws that are going to support us and not have to be worried about potentially losing our jobs
The products are being sold for the same amount
But that’s all going into the pockets of the corporations
There’s a lot of question marks as far as where we’re going to be in the future
Maybe they had this in the back of their mind the whole time
that they would just move this plant and save the money on wages
going to a foreign country where they’re going to pay them pennies on the dollar to do the same labor that we do
They’re building a bigger divide between the haves and have-nots
The income down in Mexico is very low compared to what it is here
They need to support their families as well
You want to feel like your livelihood matters
It will definitely affect work here in the Lehigh Valley
those are good jobs that we need to fight for

BROOKLYN, New York—For 125 years, Mack Trucks has been synonymous with American power and toughness
But the trucking pioneer wanted its next on-highway truck to meet its own B.A
asked industry media before the new Mack Pioneer truck was unveiled to the public here
“It has to look badass… We don’t like pretty or cute
Mack used its New York City roots as the backdrop to debut the most aerodynamic highway truck in its long history
creating 11% better fuel efficiency than the Mack Anthem
The all-new Mack Pioneer is designed for fleet efficiency that makes hard-working drivers’ jobs easier
Couceiro said hours before the truck was unveiled at the Brooklyn Navy Yard
with the lower Manhattan skyline across the water
Engine: Mack MP 13 (optional Mack MP 13HE)Power: 415-455 hp (415-515 hp)Torque: 1,550-1,900 lb.-ft
(1,750-1,950 lb.-ft.)Transmission: mDrive (optional mDrive HD)Suspensions: MaxRide Air
Mack mRide SpringTruck class: Class 8Vehicle applications: Long-haul
which will be produced along with the Mack Anthem as the Bulldog’s premier long-haul highway truck
will be available in various sleeper and day cab configurations in the U.S
which was founded by two brothers here in Brooklyn in 1900
said a “next-gen” Anthem is in the works
The Class 8 Anthem has found more success as a day cab
which sets up the Pioneer as Mack's premier long-haul product as it looks to grow its small market share among North American over-the-road fleets
He also said that the OEM is working on a battery-electric Pioneer model
Mack is opening its order books immediately on the diesel-powered Pioneer
Couceiro said Mack’s pitch to fleets that might not have looked to Mack for long-haul equipment in the past is that Mack has always been about uptime
“That’s never been a problem for us,” he said
“I think we’ve always been known for reliability
and things like that—so much that people almost take it for granted.”
And while the Anthem highway truck was “a competitive product on safety
we have high ambitions to grow the on-highway market
Just being competitive wasn’t enough
This is really what we are doing with the Pioneer—we’re really taking it into a leading position in these three elements: safety
The new Mack Pioneer truck is available in multiple configurations to suit various fleet and carrier applications:
The sleeper configurations offer options from a basic flat bunk to premium reclining bunks
allowing the truck maker to meet various highway applications and driver preferences
sleeper configuration offers Mack’s FlexSuite system with a lower bunk that can be rotated against the rear wall to create more living space
A fold-down dinette area and a reclining mattress provide comfortable spaces for meals and relaxation
Mack integrated metal handles and extrusions at all interior touch points
using premium materials that make it more durable and improve drivers’ tactile experience
work truck feel that is part of Mack’s DNA
said the Pioneer will be a truck that drivers want to work in
we’re not just introducing a new truck,” he said
“We’re redefining what a highway truck can be
taking trucking into the 21st century with features that transform the daily experience of professional drivers who spend an average of 150 hours per month in their trucks.”
Before the Pioneer’s public debut that drew hundreds to this East River pier (and thousands more for the live virtual unveiling)
Mack engineers detailed what went into the new Class 8 truck’s design that they said includes several industry-first and cutting-edge features
The Pioneer’s distinctive brand bridge in the grille creates a new signature Mack look for the tractor that integrates headlamps with the grille trim
The OEM also repositioned its signature bulldog hood ornament
removing it from its typical pedestal to incorporate it into the body design
The grille is made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic with metal-formed mesh that makes it both strong and lightweight
The headlamps include a standard defrost function that pushes hot air into the lens to prevent ice buildup
Previous LED lamp heating solutions relied on embedded wires in the lens
which were both optional and less visually appealing
The new headlamps ensure optimal visibility in all weather conditions
“The Mack Pioneer represents our commitment to innovation and excellence in the highway segment,” Randall said during the unveiling at the Navy Yard
“This truck tells the Mack story—it’s bold
embodying our DNA and character while taking our customers into the future with advanced design that prioritizes both driver experience and operational efficiency.”
The Pioneer’s interior was designed based on feedback from dealers and drivers
including a non-branded 40-driver focus group at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg
that offered engineers unbiased evaluations of the cab's ergonomics and features
“Professional drivers inspired every aspect of the Pioneer’s interior design,” said Vince Lokers
“We reached out to our dealer network to understand pain points and day-to-day nuances
which helped us develop unique features that make a real difference in driver comfort and productivity.”
The Pioneer introduces Mack’s premium seating system (that even offers a massage option) with a broader and taller frame and expanded shoulder and headrest areas
This is the first Mack with armrests on both sides of the seat
which helps drivers’ arms travel with them on the suspension rather than resting on the fixed door panel
but we’re also the only OEM offering this type of seat with perforated material for both heating and cooling functions
plus an integrated massage system that provides relief during long hauls,” Lokers said
combined with newly redesigned suspension options
will make the Pioneer a market leader in ride comfort
You won’t find a smoother ride on the highway.”
Other driver comforts include a push-button start
a Mack-first mDrive transmission stalk that moves gear selection to the steering column
and an industry-first flat-bottom steering wheel for easier entry and exit
The Pioneer also offers wireless charging and a customizable switch layout that allows drivers to arrange switch banks by preferences
Mack’s optional integrated parking cooler includes an advanced electric APU (auxiliary power unit)
designed to keep drivers cool and comfortable during warm nights without running the engine
Frontal air bags will be offered as standard equipment with the Pioneer
an entirely new proprietary ADAS that incorporates the latest active and passive safety technologies for commercial vehicles
The Pioneer also features Mack-first features focused on enhancing functionality and safety
the cab entry steps feature a design borrowed from the construction industry
with extended width and optimal grip surfaces
The truck features interior grab bars for secure cabin access in all weather conditions and a structural dash extrusion that aids mobility
Door handles throughout the truck maintain a consistent feel and experience
The advanced HVAC system with door-mounted louvers that direct heating and cooling to the driver's shoulder area and window further improves comfort and visibility
The Pioneer features aggressive windshield angles
and an optional digital mirror system that replaces traditional mirrors with HD cameras and in-cab displays
which helps make the truck more aerodynamic
The design team started with the driver’s position
including the windscreen and the door architecture
to ensure optimal visibility and aerodynamics
combined with engine and transmission upgrades
delivers up to an 11% improvement in fuel efficiency compared with the equivalent prior model from Mack.
The Mack Pioneer will be the most connected Mack truck in its 125-year history
It features a substantial increase in remote diagnostics and over-the-air software update capabilities
The new MyMack smartphone app will enable drivers to check truck status and control lights and HVAC systems remotely.
the structural dash extrusion provides device mounting options
The Pioneer features an advanced communications system with a ball socket joint mount for phones and navigation devices
A dedicated ELD mounting plate provides secure placement for essential compliance equipment
while a Mack-first tablet holder positioned below accommodates iPads and similar devices.
the truck includes Mack-first dual inductive charging stations—one optimized for the driving position and another located in the living environment—eliminating cable clutter while ensuring devices remain powered throughout the journey.
FleetOwner and our commercial-vehicle-focused Endeavor Business Media affiliates, including Fleet Maintenance and Bulk Transporter
will have more details on the new Mack Pioneer this week and next.

Witnesses separated the two men and Morrison was told to leave the restaurant where police later arrested Morrison and booked him into the Palm Beach County Jail for simple battery
(CBS12) — A famed R&B singer from the 90s was arrested following a physical altercation with a Palm Beach restaurant manager over an unpaid entertainment fee
The Palm Beach Police Department (PBPD) said Mark Morrison
the singer famed for his hit "Return of the Mack," entered Le Bar à Vin at 380 South County Road on Sunday evening
The victim and witnesses at the scene said Morrison was upset about the alleged lack of payment from the venue over an event Morrison had planned
Morrison then got into an argument with the restaurant manager pushing him twice
provided a statement saying the altercation over the entertainment fee escalated in the context of a "racially charged confrontation" and emphasized that Morrison and his legal team are working to ensure the facts are fully understood

State Representative Josh Siegel called the move 'a devastating blow to Lehigh Valley workers.'
- A state lawmaker representing part of the Lehigh Valley says one of the largest employers in the region plans to make a significant reduction in its workforce
State Representative Josh Siegel (D - 22nd District) released a statement Thursday after receiving word that Mack Trucks is laying off between 250 and 350 workers at its Lower Macungie Township facility
Siegel called it "a devastating blow to Lehigh Valley workers," saying
"these 350 workers are not just numbers — they are parents
veterans and skilled tradespeople who built America’s backbone
Siegel said he expects the layoffs will be completed in the next 90 days
Mack Trucks issued the following statement Thursday:
Heavy-duty truck orders continue to be negatively affected by market uncertainty about freight rates and demand
Today we informed our employees that this unfortunately means we’ll have to lay off 250-350 people at LVO over the next 90 days
but we need to align production with reduced demand for our vehicles
We asked Republican Congressman Ryan Mackenzie if the tariffs are contributing to cuts at Mack Trucks
He declined an interview and sent the following:
"I'm disappointed to hear of Mack Trucks' decision to lay off workers after several quarters of weakening growth and despite being awarded hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars under the previous administration
I'm particularly disappointed that they have opted to do so on the heels of last year's decision to build new plants in Mexico instead of in our region
Lehigh Valley workers are among the best in the world
and I will continue to support policies that put American workers first and attract good paying jobs to our region."
is cutting its forecast for truck sales in North America as it grapples with what its CEO called increased uncertainty surrounding tariffs and their effect on global trade

The Chargers on Monday announced they have agreed on a contract extension with Mack
a veteran edge rusher who turned 34 last month
Mack was slated to become an unrestricted free agent when the 2025 NFL New League Year began Wednesday
the Bolts made sure the legendary player remained in powder blue
The fact that Mack never became a free agent clearly outlines how much of a high priority the return of the nine-time Pro Bowler was for the Chargers
"I can tell you this: I know Khalil has – does he want to play another year
Khalil's got more than one year left in his body if he wants to do it," Chargers General Manager Joe Hortiz said at the 2025 NFL Combine
Take a look back at the best photos of Khalil Mack's 2024 campaign
and 2 forced fumbles in the 2024-2025 NFL season
Take a look back at the best photos of Khalil Mack's 2024 campaign
Mack told reporters after the 2024 season that he was going to mull retirement this offseason
And while Mack ultimately decided to keep playing
his decision to return to the Chargers speaks volumes
"I've got a lot left to give the game," Mack told Chargers.com on Monday
"It was just one of the things you kind of
my boys are getting older in the sense of like they're growing every day," Mack added
So just trying to take everything into consideration and not make decisions based on emotions."
Mack was adamant in his year-end media session that he was only going to play for a contender if he did choose to continue playing
"As long as Justin Herbert is your quarterback and you got Derwin James and all these guys that love the game of football and you got Jim Harbaugh coaching
you know you always have a chance to win," Mack said in January
"That's a no brainer in the sense of … if you know football
Mack has made a profound impact on the Chargers organization since arriving in a trade in the spring of 2022
the ninth-most in the league during that span
nine forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries
And while Mack did battle groin issues in 2024
he remained one of the league's most consistent players as his Pro Football Focus defense grade of 90.4 was fourth-best among players at his position
He finished second on the Bolts with 6.0 sacks and led the team in quarterback pressures with 54
Mack was also elite against the run as he finished the season with the second-highest PFF run defense grade among edge rushers at 88.0
But the intangibles he brings are just as important
Chargers Outside Linebacker Khalil Mack mic'd up for Sunday's matchup vs
Listen in as Mack visits with his family pregame and catches up with Chargers legend Antonio Gates before taking the field with Derwin James Jr.
and the Chargers defense to put consistent pressure on quarterbacks Spencer Rattler & Jake Haener and the New Orleans Saints offense
yelling \"that boy scared\" while chasing Rattler out of bounds
Stay tuned as Mack celebrates big plays including sacks by Tuli Tuipulotu
& Poona Ford plus long runs by \"ankle-breaker\" Justin Herbert and touchdowns by J.K
Teammates and coaches rave about his work ethic and skillset
Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh compared him to Leonardo da Vinci last season
he's like one of the most evolved humans I've been around in every way," Harbaugh said in mid-October
"Can't say enough good things about him… he's special in the best kind of ways," Harbaugh added
Chargers Defensive Coordinator Jesse Minter added: "Khalil is one of the best football people I've ever been around
he's got this humbleness about him yet he's probably one of the most competitive people I've been around
Mack's leadership was a key reason why Harbaugh's culture shift landed so well in the Bolts locker room last season
But when a future Hall of Famer with 107.5 career sacks routinely wins wind sprint drills and outworks younger players in the weight room then it only elevates the entire organization
Mack has said time and time again that his singular mission these days is to win a championship
Mack and the Chargers now have clear objectives ahead of them
is to make the playoffs and help Mack get his first playoff win
But there are bigger prizes that Mack envisions on the horizon
And he wouldn't have returned to Los Angeles if he didn't think it was possible for the Chargers to get there
"Unfinished business," Mack told Chargers.com on Monday
"I'm just ready to get back to work and not all the other extras and hoopla that come with going to a different place at this moment this time," Mack added
"I've got something I'm going to finish here."
