Royal Challengers Bengaluru 213-5 (20 overs): Kohli 62 (33)
Chennai Super Kings 211-5 (20 overs): Ayush 94 (48)
Royal Challengers Bengaluru won by two runs
Scorecard; Table
Romario Shepherd hit the second-fastest half-century in Indian Premier League history as Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Chennai Super Kings by just two runs to go top of the table
The West Indian batter was on one at the end of the 18th over
but finished with a superb 53 not out from 14 balls as RCB surged to 213-5
But bottom side Chennai almost pulled off a remarkable chase
as Ayush Mhatre (94) and Ravindra Jadeja (77 not out) put on 114 for the third wicket
Lungi Ngidi removed Ayush and Dewald Brevis with successive deliveries to leave the visitors 172-4
but Jadeja was joined by fellow veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the pair dug in to leave their side needing 15 from the final over
Yash Dayal conceded two singles and then removed Dhoni lbw for 12
but his next delivery was a waist-high no-ball that Shivam Dube smashed for six
But with only six from three balls required
his remaining deliveries going for a single each to secure a win that took RCB two points clear at the top of the IPL standings

The competition's new leaders had got off to a strong start having been put into bat
with Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli (62) putting on an opening stand of 97
England batter Bethell hit his maiden IPL half-century
becoming the third-youngest player to pass the landmark at 21 and 192 days
He was caught by Brevis off Matheesha Pathirana for 55 just short of the halfway mark
with Chennai then putting on a strong bowling display that stalled their opponents' innings
RCB found themselves 159-5 with 12 balls to go
but Shepherd was to step up in spectacular style
with Khaleel Ahmed's penultimate over going for 33 and Pathirana's last six deliveries costing 21
hitting 14 boundaries before he was caught in the deep by Krunal Pandya trying to reach a first IPL century with a six
Ngidi finished with figures of 3-30 after trapping Brevis lbw and having dismissed Sam Curran earlier in the innings
but Dayal took the bowling plaudits as he closed out the victory with some steely death bowling
The win sees RCB move up two places to first in the IPL table
rising above Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans
who are out of contention for the end of season play-offs
remain bottom with two wins from eleven games

RCB will be back to the yard for the second round of the Southern Derby as they lock horns against CSK in Namma Chinnaswamy
RCB clinched the bragging rights of the fixture hands down
They will be hopeful of pulling off something similar as Chennai arrive in Bengaluru to salvage some pride for themselves
with the MS Dhoni-led team out of the race for the playoffs
RCB will be high on momentum as they will be coming on the back of three consecutive wins
they laid waste to Punjab Kings away from home
conquered Rajasthan Royals at the Chinnaswamy and vanquished Delhi Capitals to avenge their earlier defeat in the season
They will be hopeful of seizing a fourth win on the trot which can provide them with a massive boost in their quest for a play-off spot
have lost three of their last games which resulted in their elimination from the tournament
They will be desperate to get back to winning ways and a chance to pull it off against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru gives them an added incentive of conquering the Southern Derby
one can expect this to be a full-blown Saturday blockbuster considering the kind of firepower that these two teams come in with
This year’s Bengaluru surface hasn’t exhibited the traits of a free-scoring one
The pitch has been relatively slower and it has shown signs of spongy bounce thereby making batting a far difficult task in the first half
One can expect this to be a decent scoring contest instead of those high-flyers which can come up with an aggregate score of 400 plus
Virat Kohli will definitely be eyeing for the Orange Cap once again and 62 runs is what can get him to the pedestal
He has been in menacing touch and his finesse in the last fixture propelled RCB across the finish line
He can very tactfully manage the situations
thereby making him one of the most menacing options
Noor Ahmad started the campaign on a high and then has somehow drifted in and out of form for a while
a prime Noor can be quite disruptive and his variations make him a fine competitor for Virat Kohli
Rajat Patidar will be hopeful of getting back among the runs
He is one of the finest players of spin and when the seasoned Jadeja comes into attack
the two will have an intriguing contest to look forward to
Jadeja has also dished out a handful of decent performances but they haven’t been enough so far
expect the RCB captain to have his nose ahead in the contest
Josh Hazlewood has been in excellent form throughout the tournament and his newfound momentum in the last couple of matches will make him a fine choice for RCB to bank on
His middle and death over exploits laced with his lethal accuracy has been a major headache for the batters
Dewald Brevis has displayed his ability to take on the bowlers as one of CSK's key batters in recent times
could be a major decisive factor in this game
Match: Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Chennai Super Kings

Dhoni went vintage today by donning those lovely Orange wicket-keeping gloves

A lot will be different this IPL with all the change in personnel across teams
So we have a lot to look forward to in tomorrow's double-header

Umesh Yadav | PotM | 4-0-20-2: Getting this after 2 years and I am very happy with the performance
I haven't played white-ball cricket for a while and thanks to head coach and captain for keeping trust in me and telling me that I am going to be in the starting eleven
I am actually working my rhythm because after having played a lot of Tests
the rhythm is such that when you have to start you gotta land in the right areas to extract the swing
you always feel good to get a wicket in the first over and that helps build the pressure
I take my training and work ethic very seriously and feeling really well
Shreyas Iyer | KKR captain: There is always tension when MS Dhoni is batting
I knew momentum was going to shift towards them with the dew around
It was pretty easy for me with the bowling lineup I had
Umesh has worked hard in the nets and did well in the practice games too
Sheldon Jackson | KKR keeper-batsman: In the start I had nerves
but the management and coaching staff are brilliant
they backed me and I am very grateful to them
He (MS Dhoni) always has been my inspiration
I always looked up to him and whatever he does I just try to imitate it and I have a lot to look and lot to learn from him
Learning a lot (On playing the helicopter shot) and picking up quite a lot from him (MSD) actually
Ravindra Jadeja | CSK skipper: Dew will be the vital part in this edition
The wicket was a little damp in the first 6-7 overs and then it came on nicely in the back end of the innings
23:01 IST: Shreyas takes the helmet off with a smile
When he woke up today even he wouldn't have imagined his side will have a cakewalk against CSK
KKR ticked a lot of boxes right from the word go
CSK got to 131 because they stole 47 runs off the last three overs
CSK were tentative and Shreyas Iyer and Co
It took a stunning assault from MS Dhoni at the end to get to a respectable score
Rahane and Venky ensured a wicketless powerplay
DJ Bravo tried his best taking three wickets while also being economical
Rahane held fort at one end and the rest chipped in to get the first points on the board
CSK will be slightly happy that they took this game deep to ensure their NRR doesn't take a big hit

it’s that living by the coast can be good for the soul—so good
unless it involves travelling to another coastline just as special
The home opens up to a four-seater coffee lounge on one side and the dining area on the other
“You might have coffee over a meeting in the lounge
then walk across to the dining room for lunch after,” says Arora
In Arora’s case, that somewhere special was Chennai—an opportunity that came knocking in the guise of a beach house begging for an interior refresh
inspiration struck the moment she stepped inside
“The home was oriented towards the coastline
with a crystal-clear view of the Indian Ocean
That’s the first thing I remember registering when I walked in,” says Arora
who was assisted by in-house architects Sharmistha Desai and Shruti Manikar
For little did she know that that view would ebb and flow in her mind for days and weeks to come
shaping the very contours of the aesthetic lexicon that would emerge
the first-floor living room is designed for both quiet reflection and uproarious movie nights
so it’s a lovely little gathering space,” says Arora of the first-floor living room
which often doubles as a makeshift cinema hall
The bar—occupying one corner of the living room—is underpinned by terracotta flooring and framed by verdant views
At the heart of the dining room is a long terrazzo table that seats up to fourteen people
“Sharing freshly cooked meals is a big part of all their celebrations and occasions,” says Arora
who incorporated a pantry bar for preparing fresh dosas
The staircase connecting the first and second floors is a Cycladic monolith finished in nude plaster
“For me, the starting point was the calmness of the landscape—and how we could reflect it indoors,” she continues, noting that the interiors were envisioned as an extension of the seascape itself, with muted tones, natural textures
and a quiet rhythm that echoed the seaside lull
One way to do this was sourcing materials and finishes from the home’s proverbial backyard
The primary bedroom is a cappuccino-toned cocoon that cedes the spotlight to the sea view
The primary bedroom connects to an earth-toned walk-in wardrobe
If the lower storey was imagined as a Cycladic island retreat with patio-style Kota flooring paired with unusually thick oxide grouting, the first floor was warmed with terracotta tile to hold a mirror to the sun
while the bedrooms were softened with terracotta floors and earthy brown walls to evoke
With a concrete sink and exposed plaster walls
the library ensuite is the stuff of Stygian dreams
and zigzag backsplash give the powder room a whimsical spirit
Is there anything Arora would do over? “Learn a language,” she quips. “We were working with mostly local teams who spoke only Tamil, so any communication would involve the client or the contractor standing alongside for interpretation or many round of charades from both ends.”
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) has been told to take action against erring officials within six months
Justice B Pugalendhi passed the order on a petition filed by S Neelakandan
who alleged that some contractors colluded with the officials and swindled panchayat funds to the tune of Rs 1 crore without executing the works concerned
Neelakandan said the issue was previously raised before the court in 2023 by one G Senthil Kumar
the court ordered the director of the town panchayat to conduct an inquiry
the director initiated disciplinary proceedings against the chairman and executive officer of the town panchayat
and sought a criminal investigation into the allegations
father-in-law of chairman Shanthi -- also alleged to be involved in the malpractice -- claimed in his impleading petition that Neelakandan's plea is unenforceable as a division bench had passed an interim order in the matter
Justice Pugalendhi observed that the case pending before the division bench is only related to the disciplinary proceedings
and it would not prevent the DVAC from inquiring whether the town panchayat officials were involved in misappropriation
noting that the government had already granted sanction to initiate an inquiry

RCB sealed a stunning win last night to complete a double for the first time over CSK
thanks to an all-round display and a vortex of windings that kept the game alive until the last ball itself
Rajat Patidar’s captaincy reign has been an incredible one so far and he made no attempt to hide his elation at the victory
Rajat Patidar opened up on Yash Dayal’s incredible exploits while also underlining the collective brilliance of RCB last night
He also singled out Romario Shepherd to shower out those laurels while also applauding Lungi Ngidi on a humdinger RCB debut
“It was a tight game but credit goes to the batsmen the way they batted
The way the bowlers showed courage was tremendous.”
Shedding light on how important Yash Dayal and Suyash Sharma are
it was a clear-cut thought to give the last over to Yash
Last year he did well and I'm happy for him
till now he has been bowling good overs for RCB
That decision was 50-50 but I backed my bowler and he came good.”
He then shifted his focus to Romario Shepherd who went berserk at Chinnaswamy last night
“Not easy to go straightaway to hit those big sixes
Patidar concluded by talking about Romario Shepherd
“He is quite an experienced bowler and has played a lot of white-ball cricket and I have confidence in him
three matches are more crucial and we will try our best in all the three matches.”

We are very pleased to publish selected abstracts submitted to the World Hypertension Congress that took place in Chennai
under the sponsorship of the World Hypertension League and the Indian Society of Hypertension
The focus of this major scientific meeting was the public health approach to hypertension diagnosis and care
with a particular emphasis on these issues in countries with limited healthcare resources
The sessions covered a range of subjects including such major clinical issues as hypertension-related heart disease
But there was also close attention paid to the clinical implementation of guideline-directed recommendations in settings where the availability of trained medical professionals and technical and logistical support is limited

MADRAS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- More home-grown beef should be returning to Central Oregon shelves in coming years as The Symons Beef Company soon will start building a 40,000-square-foot meat processing facility on their property just north of Madras
co-founder of the business with her husband Jeremy
started a ranching and feeding operation in 2007
And it’s now set to move well beyond the cows and calves to become even more involved in every step of production
Johanna Symons presented their plans recently to Jefferson County commissioners
just before and after she met with Economic Development for Central Oregon and Central Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center
which she said are “helping me pursue a few grants” for the project
they were selling beef products at stores around the region
from Sisters Meat and Smokehouse to the Pump House in Prineville and Bend-area food cart lots
“I was dropping live cattle off at local butcher plants,” Symons said
and it got to the point where local butcher shops couldn’t handle the demand.”
So the couple decided that “until we can control that step of the process
we’re just going to stop altogether.”
premium local beef products will be back on local shelves by July of next year
The new plant will process about 50 head of cattle a day and have coolers for up to 200 head
also helping other area ranchers who now must transport cattle out of the state for processing
The business also plans to expand from the current 10 full-time workers and a few part-timers to 40-50 jobs with the new facility to start
hopefully growing to about 70 employees within three years
in terms of construction is the current trade situation with our neighbors to the north
"It’s affected one of more most expensive pieces of equipment out of Canada
then shipped back as a finished product.”
