McGregor’s lawyers are putting forth evidence they say proves their client was not the one responsible for the bruising on victim Nikita Hand’s body
Conor McGregor is hoping to add new evidence to his civil rape trial appeal that could blow the entire case wide open
A big element of McGregor’s guilt revolved around the well-documented and extensive bruising that Hand had all over her body when examined by healthcare workers
the Irish sports star’s lawyers had suggested it may have been caused by a medication Hand was on and the result of her jumping into a bathtub
Now his legal team is looking to introduce testimony from neighbors across the street from Hand who claim they witnessed her partner assaulting her following the incident with McGregor
O’Reilly was alleging that she had seen a row from her bedroom window between Ms
Hand and her former partner on the night of 9 December 2018
into the early hours of 10 December 2018,” Irish news outlet RTE reported
O’Reilly claims she was woken up by screaming and shouting.”
O’Reilly said she could not actually see Ms
Redmond’s movements indicated that he was punching and kicking Ms Hand.”
Hand’s legal team is challenging the move to introduce this evidence
and Hand has filed an affidavit saying the neighbor’s claims are “untrue and are lies.”
A full assessment of the credibility of the new evidence is set to take on July 1st and each sides’ lawyers will have an opportunity to cross-examine witnesses regarding the statements in their affidavits
Nikita Hand outside court during the civil case she took against Conor McGregor last November
The woman who contacted Conor McGregor to claim she witnessed Nikita Hand’s former partner physically attacking her hours after she was allegedly raped by the MMA fighter has claimed Ms Hand was kicked by the man while she was on the floor
McGregor is attempting to introduce the testimony as new evidence in the Court of Appeal in a bid to overturn last November’s High Court civil jury finding that he assaulted Nikita Hand

Weight classes apart for most of their careers, the former UFC Welterweight Champion never had the honor of sharing the Octagon with Conor McGregor but Lawler seemed to know how a fight between them would have gone
Lawler and McGregor were at the top of their games in 2015 and 2016. McGregor, the biggest superstar the sport’s ever seen, took a two-fight detour at welterweight after winning the featherweight title from Jose Aldo
There, he’d avenge a submission loss (rear-naked choke) to Nate Diaz at UFC 202 before he became a two-weight world champion with a TKO of Eddie Alvarez in Nov
The welterweight champion for the first half of that year
Lawler gave a chilling response when he was asked about a potential fight with the Irishman
In June 2016, Lawler was getting ready to defend his title for a third time against Tyron Woodley at UFC 201. ‘Ruthless’ was as violent as ever, coming off two all-time great title fights against Rory Macdonald and Carlos Condit
Lawler ‘wasn’t too worried’ about the prospect of a super-fight
but wouldn’t have been good for him,” Lawler said of fighting McGregor in an interview with WSB-TV
“What were you gonna take?” Lawler was asked again
“His soul,” the UFC Champ answered with a straight face
Admitting they may have caught him on a bad day, Robbie Lawler
one of the most tenacious fighters in UFC history
was dead serious about how he’d handle Conor McGregor at 170lbs
“I was not in the good mood at the time,” Lawler said of his 2016 interview about taking McGregor’s soul on the Pound 4 Pound Podcast
“People laugh [but] I kinda look back on my career now that I’m retired
Not one single submission attempt in the UFC…”
you tricked me…’ But if you get your ass beat
“Sometimes you could get whooped in a wrestling match but it’s just slick stuff or somebody just beats the s*** out [of you]
It’s two different ways and mentalities of but that’s kinda my mindset.”
Robbie Lawler had a hall of fame worthy career inside the UFC Octagon
his ‘killed-or-be-killed’ fighting style still praised years after his retirement in 2023
Lawler won the UFC welterweight title in 2014 after turning a heavy-handed Johny Hendricks back into a wrestler at UFC 181

Patrick O'Connell & Shane PhelanSat 3 May 2025 at 19:52This is the couple at the centre of Appeal Court claims the severe bruising Nikita Hand said she sustained while being raped by Conor McGregor could have occurred during a row with her then partner
Former mixed martial arts fighter McGregor wants to introduce new evidence from Ms Hand’s former neighbours Samantha O’Reilly and Steven Cummins in his appeal against a civil jury’s finding that he raped Nikita Hand
Ms Hand has described the content of the couple’s affidavits as ‘lies’
“My ex-partner Stephen Redmond [known as ‘Ste’] did not assault me on the night of December 9/10
and never assaulted me in the course of our relationship
“I don’t want to speculate on why Samantha and Steven are making up these lies.”
Hand’s former partner Stephen Redmond will deny the claims
Approached by the Sunday World at their home in Ballyfermot for comment yesterday
Ms O’Reilly then emerged from the couple’s home and asked: “Why can you come to my house
I don’t want to talk and I don’t ever want to talk
“No comment and you won’t be coming back onto this road again.”
Today's News in 90 Seconds - May 4th
The Court of Appeal heard on Friday that Ms O’Reilly
came forward after seeing reports on TV about the trial
in which a jury awarded Ms Hand close to €250,000 after it found McGregor assaulted her in the hotel
said the jury had determined that McGregor had raped Ms Hand
The Court of Appeal was told that Ms O’Reilly and Mr Cummins’s house was “in close proximity” to the home Ms Hand shared with Mr Redmond
Mr Justice Noonan said Ms O’Reilly had claimed she was looking out of her upstairs bedroom window on “the Sunday night/early on the Monday morning” when she witnessed “a heated row” between Mr Redmond and Ms Hand in their house across the road
Her affidavit infers Mr Redmond assaulted Ms Hand in a bedroom by punching her and kicking her after pushing her to the floor
Ms O’Reilly says she could not see any blows landing on Ms Hand
but believed she was being punched and kicked based on the movement of Mr Redmond’s arms and hips
“The suggestion appears to be that this explains the bruising,” Mr Justice Noonan said
The judge said the bruising was a “significant” issue in the trial because McGregor had been unable to provide a plausible alternative theory as to what caused it
Ms O’Reilly said she later witnessed Mr Redmond speeding away from the house in his car
Mr Cummins does not claim to have witnessed the alleged row but has claimed he was woken by his partner and heard screams and shouting coming from Ms Hand’s house.
Ms Hand said she and Mr Redmond had “a verbal argument” downstairs when she returned home that night
a recording of which was heard by the jury
“We never went upstairs while the argument was going on
as our daughter was sleeping upstairs and we didn’t want to wake her,” she said
“The volume of the argument was not so loud that it could conceivably be heard in Samantha and Steven’s house across the road.”
Ms Hand said she went upstairs to check on her daughter only after Mr Redmond left the house
She denied a claim by Ms O’Reilly that she came out of her house in a distraught state or that she spoke to Ms O’Reilly on the street
“I did not come out of the house screaming after Ste left
and I did not see or interact with Samantha on the night
I had no conversation with Samantha or Steven about the night at any stage,” she said
Ms Hand also said she was familiar with the layout of Ms O’Reilly and Mr Cummins’ house because her daughter had been there on play-dates
“I know Samantha and Steven’s bedroom was upstairs at the back of the house looking on to the back yard
The windows upstairs at the front were kids’ rooms,” she said
Ms Hand was taken to the Rotunda Hospital on the morning of December 10
GP Dr Emma Quinlan testified that internal bruising on her neck 10 days later was consistent with Ms Hand’s account of being choked
Mr Justice Noonan said the affidavit of Ms O’Reilly was “clearly relevant evidence”
but there would need to be an assessment of its credibility
told the court his client had described the claims as “lies”
He said his side may need to get Mr Redmond to swear an affidavit to rebut the claims
The admissibility of the new evidence might substantially decide the appeal and whether there should be a retrial
Mr Justice Noonan set July 1 as the hearing date for McGregor’s appeal and directed that his motion seeking the admission of the new evidence be heard at the same time
The judge said he was doing this because the issue of the admissibility of the new evidence might substantially decide the appeal and whether there should be a retrial
Ms Hand’s side will be able to cross-examine Ms O’Reilly and Mr Cummins about the claims they have made
Mr Boland said the credibility of the claims was not the only ground his side had for opposing the introduction of what he described as “alleged new evidence”
He said there was also an issue over whether the evidence existed at the time of the trial
Mr Boland said Ms O’Reilly had averred that she had sent McGregor an Instagram message
Ms O’Reilly indicated she and her partner no longer lived in the area
She said she had not been aware Ms Hand had made a complaint against McGregor
and that the first time she realised the row she claims to have seen had anything to do with the case was when she saw reports of the trial

Callum McGregor was at the heart of the Celtic action on Sunday
After Celtic secured the Premiership title last week, the champions turned up to Ibrox for the final Glasgow derby of the season
In the end, Celtic and Rangers shared the spoils
and some feeling that the game lacked bite and aggression during the game
The first man who was booked was Rangers boss Barry Ferguson in the second half when he protested against a call from the official
It was not until the 88th minute for the first player was booked, and that was Rangers youngster Bailey Rice, before Celtic’s Jonny Kenny followed suit minutes later
But McGregor was calling for it a lot earlier
McGregor is always controlling proceedings in the middle of the park
he wasn’t having any of Nico Raskin’s nonsense
The Celtic skipper did well to protect the ball on the halfway line
including a potential counter being stopped
As Scott Arfield noted on commentary for Sky Sports Football (04/05/25)
McGregor asked the referee to yellow-card the Rangers man
and Walsh (referee) will have to have a word,” stated Ian Crocker
as the Rangers player protested to the referee and the Celtic skipper pushed him away
Arfield added: “Callum McGregor was just asking for a yellow card from the referee there
He thought it was going to be an attack for Celtic
With Celtic having the title wrapped up
some did question if this game would lack that bite and aggression
That was also proven in the lack of yellow cards handed out

What happens when hype meets harsh reality
and ‘Iron’ Mike stood at the edge of his career’s biggest payday
Chandler accepted a different challenge—one that many thought he’d breeze through
‘The Baddy’ walked through Chandler and finished him on the ground with vicious elbows
without even looking remotely in trouble at any point in the fight
someone from ‘Iron’s own team has revealed that the loss had a lot more going on behind the scenes than the fans might be aware of
Enter Jared Gordon, the man who made headlines after his unanimous decision loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 282
Many felt as though Gordon had done enough to win the fight
but the Liverpool native got the nod from the judges instead
In a recent interview with ‘Inside Fighting’
Gordon didn’t hold back his thoughts on what went wrong for Chandler at UFC 314
billed as a battle between rising star and veteran warrior
ended with Chandler being handed his third straight defeat
“So I could just see how he was training…” He tried to cushion the blow
saying he wasn’t out to “bad mouth” Chandler
But the reality of what he saw in training left him feeling uneasy
I just that’s just how I felt going into it.”
Coming from a teammate, they’re not just an outside observation—they’re the kind of insight that speaks louder than fight footage. And UFC pros were just as stunned as the fans. Dustin Poirier
who sat on the post-fight panel after Chandler’s loss
not just lose but get rolled by a young guy
Especially when it’s coming from a fellow warrior like Poirier
and we don’t ever see him slow down in the second round
What’s your perspective on:Is Michael Chandler's UFC career just hype
recently cracked open the door again and gave Chandler something to hold on to
he recently dropped a tweet that sent fans into a frenzy—he wants a stadium event if he’s to return
who fired back with a cryptic post on X that read
“Unfinished Business Loading…” Sounds hopeful
A post shared by Inside Fighting (@insidefighting)
Now, with McGregor teasing a return yet again and Michael Chandler desperately holding onto hope
Let’s not forget—the Irishman hasn’t fought since 2021
when he snapped his leg in his second straight loss to Dustin Poirier
and is riding a 3-fight losing streak after the disappointing outing against Paddy Pimblett
But while Conor McGregor fans continue to dream of stadium lights and comeback chaos
not everyone is buying the hype as a UFC veteran recently revealed his thoughts on the matchup that
Chael Sonnen
has flipped the script on the dream matchup
McGregor and Chandler have “no business” fighting each other anymore
The UFC veteran and analyst explained on a video on his YouTube channel
I have unfinished business with Michael Chandler’ — let me stop you right there
You and Chandler don’t have any business.”
it’s not just about fight records or pay-per-view sales
He reminded everyone of The Ultimate Fighter 31 flop
where McGregor and Chandler coached opposite each other
“they had to bring in Daniel Cormier and I to try and revive the whole story.”
“You want to get a stadium against the same opponent that you had a contract for and didn’t show up
you have no business with Michael Chandler.”

It seemed like Jeremy Stephens really found a home in bare-knuckle fighting after he put together an undefeated run with BKFC that was capped off with a jaw-breaking performance over former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez
But that fight actually served as the final bout on his contract and rather than re-sign with BKFC
Stephens ended up inking a one-fight deal to return to the UFC where he competes in his hometown of Des Moines
While Stephens made it clear once he hit free agency that he wanted to be compensated properly to return to BKFC
he didn’t leave the promotion on bad terms just because the UFC came calling with an offer
“I don’t have any bad blood over there with BKFC,” Stephens told MMA Fighting
“We tried to get a hold of [David] Feldman
I wasn’t going to wait for no response or anything
“The fact that I can just go do this here in May
I think there’s some fights there and it’s like are you going to pay me my worth
The win over Alvarez seemingly set up Stephens for all sorts of potential opportunities including a long awaited dream match against BKFC co-owner Conor McGregor
who actually stepped into the ring with him for a faceoff back at the event in Philadelphia in January
Stephens also called for a potential showdown against BKFC star Mike Perry
who has largely become the face of the promotion since he first signed there a few years ago
While neither of those fights came together after the Alvarez win, Stephens knows it’s all still possible and the attention paid to those possible matchups only gets bigger if he goes out and starches Mason Jones in the UFC on May 3
he just wants BKFC to come after him with a financial offer that makes sense
the king of the barbarians is home,” Stephens said
Conor [McGregor] can talk about he wants to come over [to bare-knuckle] but those guys aren’t really serious
I’m actually like are you serious or which route do we got to go
I’m going to keep f*cking showing up and being in everybody’s faces
You’re just going to hear Jeremy Stephens all across the f*cking board
“I want to fight for a company that’s going to keep me busy and let me create my own opportunities
I already know what I’m capable of in doing things
and go out there when they put $2 million on Eddie
I feel like the MMA people around the globe are starting to recognize who the f*ck I really am
I still out here doing it and just creating opportunities for myself
Stephens would win his return fight in the UFC and then start working towards that matchup against McGregor with the history between them dating back to an infamous press conference exchange back in 2016
That back-and-forth moment that went viral where McGregor shouted “who the f*ck is that guy” has only fueled Stephens that much more to eventually get his hands on the Irish superstar
While there are questions about whether or not McGregor ever competes again with nearly four years passed since his last fight and he’s now teasing a potential run at President in Ireland
“I kind of keep it in the back of my head to chase that type of red panty night,” Stephens said
“I deserve it but I really know I can f*cking rearrange his jaw
not just f*cking talking and being a social media clown

MIAMI – Aundrai McGregor was wearing a green suicide prevention smock and in handcuffs when he appeared before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy S
Leer en español
McGregor’s defense claimed detectives arrested him after he confessed to having shot at a man who had “pointed a gun in his direction” in Opa-locka
The public defender told Glazer that McGregor
had a “classic self-defense case.” Glazer disagreed and ordered him to stay away from yet another alleged victim
Records show the shooting was on the same day McGregor was released from jail after a Miami-Dade judge ordered him to stay from a domestic violence victim -- and it didn’t take long for him to be accused of violating that order
[McGregor] was at the home of his chidren’s mother despite the stay-away order,” an Opa-locka police officer wrote
Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested McGregor on March 15 for domestic violence
The Miramar resident didn’t have an arrest record in Broward County
McGregor had a short arrest record in Miami-Dade
Prosecutors dropped a defrauding a retailer case in 2020
and a strongarm robbery and battery case last year
prosecutors filed a burglary with assault or battery case punishable by life on March 16 and decided to close it and file a misdemeanor battery case instead on April 17
Records show McGregor appeared in court on April 21 and a judge ordered him to stay away from the domestic violence victim and corrections released him on April 23 on a $1,000 bond
According to the Opa-locka Police Department
ShotSpotter tech recorded 19 shots fired on April 23 at Northwest 22 Avenue and Ali Baba Avenue and investigators found 11 bullet casings
and reported the gunman who shot at him was in a white Ford van
Opa-locka police officers reported the van -- with five bullet holes on the passenger’s side and two bullet holes on the front windshield -- was near Northwest 153 Terrace and 27 Place
and there was surveillance video related to the shooting
McGregor “chose to position himself tactically and proceeded to open fire in public towards the victim’s vehicle with no regard to other motorists on the roadway and fled the scene,” a police officer wrote
Records show McGregor agreed to meet with detectives again on Wednesday at the Opa-locka Police Department’s headquarters and detectives arrested him there at 1:50 p.m
and M-DCSO correctional deputies booked him at 3:35 p.m.
at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center
Miami-Dade court had already set McGregor’s arraignment hearing for the pending misdemeanor battery case related to the March 15 arrest for 9:30 a.m.
County Circuit Judge Elisabeth Espinosa is set to preside over the case
McGregor faced charges of attempted murder with a deadly weapon
use of a firearm while committing a felony
criminal mischief of $1,000 or more while armed
and possession of a firearm after a domestic violence injunction
Opa-locka’s records did not show McGregor’s relationship to the alleged gunman
so Glazer and the prosecution agreed to have another hearing on the case

This is very much a play about the consequence of infidelity on a marriage
and a wife’s pained rage (Ibsen’s Hilda was apparently inspired by real-life associations he had with younger women)
Fleetwood is magnetic as Elena and she eclipses McGregor
who is boyishly earnest in his relationship with Mathilde
He seems genuinely in love and does not have the bearing of the narcissist he is supposed to be
View image in fullscreenPsychosexual power dynamics … Elizabeth Debicki and McGregor
Photograph: Johan PerssonThere is not quite the chemistry between Mathilde and Henry either
although both actors are able in their parts
Mathilde’s novel is called Master and there is some effort to evoke psychosexual power dynamics between them
The script reckons with the problematic aspects of Ibsen’s play in many ways but also complicates them
There is talk of Henry’s grooming of the young Mathilde and Elena tries to create a #MeToo moment of public shaming but Mathilde is reluctant to define her experience as such
is dealt with in passing between Henry and Ragnar (David Ajala)
treachery and generational difference is explored
mocks her so-called feminism and Mathilde speaks of how Elena “slut-shamed” her after her affair with Henry
while Elena herself mocks the younger women for all their talk about agency and power
A debate around the good/bad feminist is opened up in their judgments of each other but it sounds rather conceptual
and real candescence to the writing at its best
The focus on the women is interesting and intriguing
even though it means Henry feels rather spare to the drama
This is a story not of genius men building castles in the air for their princesses but of what destruction they wreak in their homes in so doing
it is the drama of The Master Builder’s Wife
At Wyndham’s theatre, London, until 12 July
may have been caused following an alleged row between Ms Hand and her then partner hours later
Ms Hand has sworn an affidavit describing the new material as “lies”, her counsel Ray Boland told the Court of Appeal on Friday
Mr Justice Seamus Noonan said the court would decide
during a full hearing of Mr McGregor’s appeal on July 1st
in the form of affidavits from a man and woman who lived across from Ms Hand’s home in 2018
The Mixed Martial Arts fighter denies he assaulted Ms Hand
He claims the new material came into his possession after the High Court case and provides a “plausible” explanation for bruising on Ms Hand’s body
During a case management hearing on Friday
Mr Justice Noonan said he believed a three-judge court should decide
as part of the full appeal hearing rather than a separate pre-appeal application
The judge said it seemed that extensive bruising seen on Ms Hand’s body when she was examined by a doctor in the Rotunda hospital the day after her encounter with Mr McGregor in the hotel was a significant feature of the evidence in the High Court case
Gardaí had also taken extensive photos of Ms Hand on Tuesday
Ms Hand alleged the bruising was inflicted by Mr McGregor
A feature of the case was that Mr McGregor had not been in a position to offer any plausible alternative explanation for the bruising
The judge said his understanding was the new evidence was from a couple – Samantha O’Reilly and Steven Cummins – who lived across the road from Ms Hand in December 2018
she had observed from the upstairs window of her house a row between Ms Hand and her then partner
Mr Redmond had assaulted her on the ground and this explained the bruising on her body seen the next day
raising issues about credibility and the fact the couple did not come forward previously
The defence had offered an explanation for that
Ms O’Reilly had said she had sent an Instagram message to Mr McGregor as a result of publicity around the trial
The evidence which the defence sought to call was clearly relevant and the court will have to determine its admissibility and credibility
which would involve assessing all the evidence in the case
Because the issue of the admissibility of the new evidence might substantially decide the appeal and whether there should be a retrial
the motion to admit it should be heard as part of the full appeal
Mr McGregor’s grounds of appeal are wide-ranging
including claims over the conduct of the 12-day High Court hearing by Mr Justice Alexander Owens
Some grounds focus on whether the trial judge erred in directing that the jury be asked to answer whether or not Mr McGregor “assaulted” Ms Hand
rather than whether or not he had “sexually assaulted” her
said in evidence she had told Mr McGregor she did not want to have intercourse with him
She was wearing a tampon at the time and would not have sex during her period
[ Nikita Hand’s case against Conor McGregor challenges the myth of the ‘perfect victim’Opens in new window ]
Mr McGregor denied rape and said he and Ms Hand had “fully consensual”
He said he was shocked when later shown photos of bruising on Ms Hand
he had not caused the bruises and there was no tampon
Mr Justice Owens told them if a person proves they were subject by another person to non-consensual sexual activity
that is the tort [a civil wrong causing harm or loss leading to legal liability] of assault
had not assaulted Ms Hand through allegedly having sex with her without her consent in the Beacon hotel
Mr Lawrence said in his evidence they had consensual sex twice
Ms Hand said she had no memory of that and described it as “a made-up story”
whose legal fees the jury heard were being paid by Mr McGregor
denied he was a “fall-guy” in relation to the allegation Mr McGregor had raped Ms Hand
Mr Lawrence’s appeal against the trial judge’s refusal to order Ms Hand to pay his legal costs of the trial will be heard alongside Mr McGregor’s appeal

the Octagon arrives in Des Moines where a potential fight of the night candidate has several ties to Conor McGregor
Jeremy Stephens returns to the UFC in a shocking move that will see the 51-fight veteran compete in front of his home town fans in the main card opener
‘Lil Heathen’ has recently undergone a career rebirth in BKFC where his history with ‘The Notorious’ could’ve led to a clash between Stephens and McGregor
His opponent on Saturday night will also be a former UFC fighter who is back on the roster following some time away with former lightweight prospect Mason Jones returning at 30-years-old
Before the Welshman’s initial run in the promotion
he made his name on the European scene by replicating the accomplishments of two of the best fighters that the UK and Ireland has ever produced
Mason Jones claimed his first title in Cage Warriors by stopping Joe McColgan in the first round to win the lightweight title right as all sport came to a halt in 2020 due to the pandemic
The exciting striker would then set his sights on a second belt my moving up to welterweight later that year to face Adam Proctor for the vacant title
he produced his second back-to-back first-round finish to beat Proctor and become a champ-champ in the European promotion
Mason 'The Dragon' Jones is THE MAN.A TKO victory in the first round – he is now the double champ. 🏆 DOUBLE DRAGON 🐉#CW116 pic.twitter.com/Pb2vev6E03
Jones would call for the UFC where he made his debut the following January
fighting four times before deciding to not renew his contract so that he could go and rack up some more experience
He brought plenty of hype with him into the Octagon due to his two-weight accomplishment which only two fighters had done in Cage Warriors
Both Conor McGregor and Dan Hardy held two belts at the same time before they went on to sign with the UFC where ‘The Notorious’ would make history by replicating this feat inside the Octagon
Whilst ‘The Outlaw’ didn’t wear UFC gold in his career, Hardy did challenge Georges St-Pierre for the welterweight title at UFC 111 in 2010
It was a bold decision from Mason Jones to walk away from a UFC contract in 2022 but after a rough run inside the Octagon
‘The Dragon’ wanted to increase his worth by getting some momentum behind him
He did just that by returning to Cage Warriors where he produced three consecutive finishes and one fight of the year contender against Michael Pagani before re-signing to the UFC earlier this year
the Welshman still has plenty of time on his hands but it’s now on him to show what he’s truly capable of at the highest level
Given his exciting style and Jeremy Stephens’ track record
the main card opener on May 3 has fireworks written all over it
At this point in his career, ‘The Notorious’ isn’t as popular as he was at the peak of his powers. Chael Sonnen says McGregor doesn’t even have business with Michael Chandler anymore
with fans around the world tuning into his fights
And from the moment he first sat down with the Irishman
the UFC CEO knew just how much potential the athlete had
WOW: Combat sports legend explains why Dana White couldn’t convince him to sign with the UFC
After the UFC signed Conor McGregor to the promotion, Dana White invited the Dubliner to join him for a meal
the businessman realized that the pair were about to go on a wild journey together
he explained: “I went to dinner when we first signed him
I called my partner Lorenzo [Fertitta] and said
“I knew it that night with him. His personality, the energy around this kid, I’d never met anybody like him. The closest thing to it was Ronda Rousey.”
While McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier back in 2021
the appetite for his return remains rife among fans
Despite the fact that Michael Chandler would still love to get his hands on the former two-weight world champion, Brendan Schaub wants the warrior to steer clear of the American
The ex-UFC heavyweight suggested some interesting ideas for future match-ups
During a fascinating video, Schaub pitched two UFC icons for McGregor to fight next

There has been a note of enigma to the promotion of this new West End drama by largely unknown US playwright Lila Raicek
The official line is that it’s a response to Ibsen’s The Master Builder but not a rewrite
but there has been a pointed refusal - in cast interviews and other publicity - to say any more about the specifics of the play
Having now seen My Master Builder I’m not sure I’m any the wiser as to what the big secret was
Perhaps it’s simply that a full plot summary felt like it was virtually begging interviewers to ask star Ewan McGregor about the end of his first marriage
Or if we’re going for the idea that there was a more poetic mystery
I guess the big revelation is that the play is somewhat autobiographical
It’s *My* Master Builder because Raicek has incorporated her own life into it
or at least one experience (that she owns up to
She was invited to a posh dinner party and realised upon arrival that she’d been cast as a pawn in a weird psychosexual drama between her hosts
but it gave her a route into updating Ibsen’s odd late play about a tortured architect haunted by a past encounter.
Henry Solness (McGregor) is a starchitect who lives in the Hamptons with his publisher wife Elena (Kate Fleetwood)
They are throwing a party for the completion of a local arts centre he’s designed
that is intimately connected to the sad early death of their son
It doesn’t take long to determine their marriage isn't going well: Elena lets slip to her long-suffering assistant Kaia (Mirren Mack) that she has divorce papers ready to serve Henry
Following the opening of the centre a more intimate dinner party is planned
and on the guestlist is Mathilde (Elizabeth Debicki)
innocuously billed as a journalist friend of Kaia’s
In fact she turns out to be a former student of Henry’s who he had a passionate affair with a decade ago
and Raicek’s version does a lot to address its issues: there are much better female characters and none of the old stultifying symbolism
And Raicek’s drama isn’t simply about how Henry has taken advantage of Mathilde
even though that’s how performative girl boss Elena contemplates spinning it
The playwright scrutinises the concept of power imbalance in a relationship and refuses to come up with an easy answer over whether it’s appropriate for Henry and Mathilda to have been involved.
The main trouble is that there is a power imbalance within Michael Grandage’s production: Debicki and Fleetwood are hardly nobodies
but McGregor is the big name in this female-centric rewriting of Ibsen
Which might not be an issue if Henry was a really great role
but it feels like McGregor hogs the lines and the stage time
while the women hog the bits where Raicek actually has something interesting to say.
The best thing about Ibsen’s original is his protagonist Halvard
difficult genius gradually brought to earth over the story’s duration
McGregor’s Henry is basically a nice enough regular bloke – flawed of course
but probably considerably more down to earth than the average middle-aged architectural giant
It feels like Raicek and Grandage have gone out of their way not to make him seem toxic or overly complicated - it’s stressed that Henry and Mathilda’s affair wasn’t even consummated.
I sort of get it: if Henry’s actions were clearly abusive or creepy the play’s internal debate would never get started
Younger women do have relationships with more powerful older men and clearly many of them work out fine
But taking pains to make Henry broadly inoffensive leaves him as a fairly boring character
and we hear lots from him: about his grief
But pare away the words and there’s nothing much happening
just a nice guy blundering through a genteel midlife crisis.
Debicki is solid: her Mathilda is somewhat inscrutable
but largely – one senses – because she’s paralysed by ambivalence
She goes to the party unsure about how she feels towards Henry; although it’s not really a ta-da role
as she processes her feelings and resentments - ultimately she gets to have the casting vote in what happens to this marriage
the character feels a bit tidy and undamaged
but certainly she’s more thoughtfully written than her Ibsen equivalent
but it’s hard to escape the fact Debicki is incredibly tall - the fact she looms over McGregor further disrupts the idea of power imbalance)
Raicek has gone so far to make Henry and Mathilda seem reasonable that they’re ultimately dull
and the fireworks are delegated to the supporting cast
More entertaining than both her co-leads put together is Fleetwood
she’s enormous fun but only makes Henry look even more sympathetic - she gets humanised a bit more later
but her outrageous behaviour lets Henry further off the hook.
an unbearable hipster former protege of Henry’s who Elena is desperately trying to shag – he‘s too self-interested to own up to the fact that he’s in a relationship with her PA.
Ultimately Raicek has created as many problems as she’s solved in trying to ‘fix’ the original story
but her generally thoughtful look at power imbalance and the nature of infidelity lacks fireworks beyond the famous faces
but when it comes it all feels a bit unearned

with an ex-UFC heavyweight suggesting two potential opponents for him
‘The Notorious’ was a truly terrifying competitor
capable of rendering unconscious anybody he connected on
However, in recent years, his career has left a lot to be desired. The Irishman has lost his last two fights to Dustin Poirier, and despite beating Donald Cerrone in between, McGregor is still being mocked by Khabib Nurmagomedov
in order to remind the world of just how talented he is
‘The Notorious’ is in desperate need of a big performance
WOW: Why Khabib Nurmagomedov really jumped the cage after Conor McGregor fight
Brendan Schaub believes Ilia Topuria and Paddy Pimblett would be the perfect opponents to welcome Conor McGregor back to the octagon
However, he claims that the man who could potentially stand in the opposite corner from the Dubliner, relies solely on Islam Makhachev
In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Schaub said: “We’re all waiting on Islam Makhachev, because if he goes, ‘No, I’m staying at 155lbs, because Belal Muhammad won [against Jack Della Maddalena]
While Schaub wants McGregor to battle it out with Pimblett or Topuria, Michael Chandler is still willing to do whatever it takes to finally secure the showdown he so desperately craves
The pair filmed a series of The Ultimate Fighter together
which was meant to culminate in a significant showdown between the legends
the former 2x UFC champion pulled out through injury
However, the American hasn’t given up hope, with Chandler recently reigniting his feud with McGregor
howlingly pretentious script and a drippy central character in McGregor’s architect Henry Solness
Culture | Theatre
Gratifying as it is to see Ewan McGregor back on stage after 17 years, I wish he’d found a better vehicle than this so-called “new play” by American writer Lila Raicek, which feeds Henrik Ibsen’s problematic 1892 work The Master Builder through the blender of contemporary sexual politics
Michael Grandage’s brisk take on the glib
howlingly pretentious script can be enjoyed as a guilty pleasure
a celeb-heavy melodrama of sex and power that owes more to Fifty Shades of Grey than to serious #MeToo fictions
The truly weird thing about this pairing of star and material is that McGregor’s character
international architect Henry Solness is a drippy blank
While waffling about “memory and meaning” in construction and mooning over his regrets
he’s out-characterised and out-emoted by his female co-stars
Kate Fleetwood plays Solness’s wife Elena in full-on
languid abandon as his younger lover Mathilde and is so tall and slender in a silver dress she resembles a thermometer
It’s slightly comic that the plot’s biggest moment hinges on Solness’s vertigo when his lover tops him by a head
The generation gap between them also has less impact than it should because McGregor seems not to have aged in 30 years
where Scottish Solness and his English wife Elena (“I’m the head of a major publishing empire!”) are preparing to celebrate his reinvention of an old whaling church near their own historic beach house
that fractured but didn’t quite sever them
For Elena has invited her maybe-lover Ragnar (David Ajala)
who is also Solness’s architectural protégé and a believer in “hedonistic sustainability”
the student Solness seduced or was seduced by after the aforementioned tragedy
Mathilde is now a brilliant journalist (yawn) who’s written a thinly disguised fruity novel (double yawn) about their affair that addresses consent
Much of what follows blends research-heavy references to superstar architects and the international commissions they compete for with stilted dialogue that sounds as if it’s been imperfectly translated from Ibsen-era Norwegian
That old bounder!” says Solness at one point
Every time someone says “master builder” or “master bedroom” - and they use both phrases improbably often – it sounds like “masturbation”
Ibsen’s Master Builder is a fictionalised justification of his own obsession with a younger woman
In her “new play” that riffs on this story Raicek can’t decide if Solness is an abuser or a victim
Debicki’s elegant Mathilde is still referred to as a troll and worse
Grandage coaxed film star McGregor to appear on stage in Othello and Guys and Dolls
I don’t think he serves his friend well here: I laughed at this star vehicle

Organisation says it regrets renting premises for event with US commentator Tucker Carlson and will give fee to charity
The Freemasons of Ireland have apologised for hosting an interview between Conor McGregor and the US commentator Tucker Carlson at the organisation’s premises in central Dublin
Philip Daley, the grand secretary of the Irish Freemasons
said the organisation regretted renting its hall for the event last week and would donate the fee to charity
Carlson
gave the former mixed martial arts champion who has become an outspoken critic of Irish and European immigration and asylum policies a platform to assail immigration and to promote his potential run for Ireland’s presidency in an election later this year
The 55-minute interview, recorded on 15 April, has been viewed more than 1.4m times on Carlson’s YouTube channel. It was the latest collaboration between rightwing US figures and McGregor, whom Donald Trump hosted at the White House on St Patrick’s Day
The Freemasons’ Hall, built in 1869, provided an elaborate, Victorian backdrop to the interview. In a statement at the weekend
Daley said the Freemasons routinely rented out the hall and took a booking from a US media company without initially knowing details of the event
“If the participants and content had been known the booking would not have been accepted. The Freemasons of Ireland categorically denies any association with the interviewer or interviewee and regrets that such an interview took place on our premises
We apologise to our members and confirm that steps have been taken to avoid a reoccurrence.”
Daley told RTÉ that the organisation learned details of the event about an hour before it took place
Would we cancel it or would we let it go ahead
And we decided in our wisdom that we just let it go,” he said
Daley said he allowed the interview to proceed after an assurance from Carlson’s company that all of the backgrounds would be blurred and that there would be no reference to the Freemasons’ Hall
Daley also said his organisation worried about a possible “backlash” if it cancelled the event
“In hindsight we’re not happy with that decision
Daley added: “I would not be a fan of Mr McGregor under any circumstances.” The fee
said a corrupt governing elite was facilitating the “erasure” of Irish people and their identity

he probably was the hardest-hitting 145'er in the division at the time
Stephens opens up the Des Moines main card against Welsh standout Mason Jones
The two scrappers have something in common in that they both enjoyed lengthy time away in other promotions
this means a four-fight winning streak in Cage Warriors
'Lil' Heathen' ended his first UFC tenure with a 15-18 1NC run
capping it off on a seven-fight winless skid
Stephens' career highlights contain some of the most brutal knockouts in the UFC
and he's a welcome addition to spruce up any Fight Night
Fight fans can catch Stephens on the Des Moines main card

In recent years, the UFC superstar has been drifting off more and more from the fight game, not having fought since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021
Instead of entering the Octagon against Michael Chandler, a bout he withdrew from due to injury last summer at UFC 303, Conor McGregor now has sights set on the political ring
McGregor hopes to become the president of Ireland someday, meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on St. Patrick’s Day to discuss immigration problems his country is currently having
the former two-division UFC Champion isn’t going to able to run for office anytime soon
Referred to as ‘the most famous living Irishman’ in the world
Tucker Carlson asked McGregor what’s holding back from running for president of Ireland
“There’s stipulations,” McGregor explained
“You have to get four county councils which are controlled by the government parties or you have to get 20 nominations of the Oireachtas which are all mostly party affiliates.“Can’t just run for president,” McGregor said
“We are not a democratic country,” McGregor replied
The country Ireland is a unitary parliamentary republic with a President
Taoiseach (Prime Minister) and Oireachtas (Parliament)
A native of Crumlin, Conor McGregor is the first and only Irish fighter to win a UFC Championship, let alone two. He won the featherweight belt off Jose Aldo in 2015 and the lightweight belt a year later against Eddie Alvarez
After a legendary career in the UFC, McGregor recently made a retirement admission in pursuit of a presidential run which would take a seven-year term if the Irishman somehow pulled it off
One of his issues with the current state of Ireland?“The overspending that’s going on,” McGregor said
“This is our public wealth being being administered into private hands
enriching people to bring in this influx of illegal mass migration that is changing the fabric of my country
“Ireland is very close to losing its Irishness
Conor McGregor’s previous comments on Ireland’s immigration influx were condemned by Ireland’s Prime Minister Micheál Martin after his St. Patrick’s Day visit to the White House. Martin posted to ‘X‘ McGregor’s remarks ‘do not reflect the views of the people of Ireland’

Dvalishvili has become one of the most dominant forces in combat sports
and McGregor is a huge supporter of his success

As of this writing, Dvalishvili hasn’t publicly responded to McGregor’s comments. McGregor hasn’t fought since injuring his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264

‘The Eagle’ submitted Conor McGregor to defend his lightweight belt and seemingly settle their bitter feud in October 2018
However, Khabib Nurmagomedov celebrated by leaping from the cage and attacking Dillon Danis to start the ugliest post-fight brawl the UFC has ever seen
Seven years later, the Russian legend’s coach has claimed that ‘respect’ was at the forefront of his star pupil’s mind when he was trying to assault Conor McGregor‘s teammate
Renowned MMA coach Javier Mendez didn’t ask Khabib Nurmagomedov to explain his post-fight actions at UFC 229 until years later
When he did, the American Kickboxing Academy founder was told the attack on Danis was born out of respect for his elders, which stopped him from going after McGregor’s head coach, John Kavanagh
I never asked him why he did that until a couple of years after,” Mendez recently revealed on the ‘Tracy Harmoush: What They Don’t Tell Us Podcast’
why did you go after Dillon Danis?’ He goes
his head coach was too old and it would be disrespectful
he had to go after the younger one and that was Dillon Danis
“Dillon was the one talking the most stuff anyway
He was egging Khabib on through the whole fight anyway
he did that because the coach is too old and he couldn’t attack him
Khabib Nurmagomedov retired after choking out Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in October 2020
he’s widely regarded as one of the best coaches in MMA after helping fighters win titles in the UFC
Still, the 36-year-old has been forced to address rumors about a potential return to the UFC Octagon.
“There is no chance, none. Not even 1 percent, minus [chance],” Nurmagomedov said in October 2024.
“If you guys need champions, I’m helping my brothers to become champions… We have Islam [Makhachev] as a champion, we have Umar [Nurmagomedov] as the next contender, we have Usman [Nurmagomedov] as champion – we have a lot of champions.
“You guys are never going to miss me because in our team and our gym, we create champions – you guys are always going to have champions, don’t worry.”
making it happen behind the scenes is just as fun
Clara McGregor knows how it sounds: When she was a little girl
she dreamed of going to Hollywood to become… a producer
Only she didn’t realize it until she was much older
The daughter of actor Ewan McGregor and production designer Eve Mavrakis
she grew up with a lot of free time on movie sets and was drawn to the behind-the-scenes action
“I’d see everyone sitting by the monitors and wait to see if there was a little headset free and sneak in and get a view
I saw how every single person on that set is so essential to getting it all done and how there are so many moving parts that somehow all come together to create something.”
“there was less of an assumption that I was going to become an actor,” the 28-year-old says
you’re going to do what your dad did.’ I loved photography
‘I’m going to be behind the camera.’” The interest led her to New York University
where she graduated in 2017 with a degree in cinema studies
working odd jobs and auditioning for roles she found on Backstage.com
Now, she’s settled somewhere in the industry in-between — as an actor, known for indie films and shows like American Horror Story, and a producer, co-founding the company Deux Dames alongside friend Vera Bulder. Deux Dames’ first feature film, 2023’s Bleeding Love
that made it way easier to get that to keep [it] going
because we had an A-list actor on every page,” she says
those take longer.” The experience crystallized exactly what she loves about producing: “Putting all the puzzle pieces together and putting out the fires.”
We’re chatting just a few days into the new year
and McGregor — if you believe that how you spend New Year’s Eve determines how you’ll spend the year — is poised to be booked and busy
she’d just received the first draft of Deux Dames’ next project
a biopic of French opera legend Julie d’Aubigny
How’s this for a logline: “[She was a] cross-dressing
sword-fighting woman that lived in the 17th century and broke her girlfriend out of a nunnery and burnt it to the ground,” McGregor says
“She would slay men in sword fights and have to live on the run and was pardoned by the King of France
Crazy life.” She’s got the funding for it and plans to shoot in France sometime this year
“We will never get in the way of a project getting made,” she says of her and Bulder
she’ll head to Cyprus to begin production on Noon
a dramatic thriller from French director Xavier Palud
But what McGregor really wants to do next is comedy
you do dive into these characters and into that world.” So she’s been studying the greats recently
watching old Peter Sellers movies as well as reading newer scripts from shows like Girls and Fleabag
It has that raunchy humor that [now] someone like Rachel Sennott has really nailed
It was allowing women to have the same kind of humor as men
Even when she’s watching something for pleasure
it can be hard to turn off her producer brain
but I’d be wondering where the crew was standing
She points to her latest fixation: Babygirl
which happens to star her younger sister Esther as the teenage daughter of Nicole Kidman — Ewan’s old Moulin Rouge
She’s so powerful in her moments; she’s totally unforgettable
And seeing her with Nicole was so special and sweet and full circle in a way
“I want to be as busy as I can be this year
People often ask me: ‘What’s your dream movie?’ Or: ‘What’s your dream job as an actor?’ and I’m like
‘To be filming on set and know my next movie that I’m shooting again really soon after.’ That’s a dream.”
This coming Saturday, UFC Des Moines promises to be a blockbuster event, headlined by bantamweight contenders, Cory Sandhagen and Deiveson Figueiredo
One of the biggest talking points regarding the event, though, is that UFC fan favorite Jeremy Stephens returns to the promotion for the first time in four years after a successful stint in BKFC
In his last outing, ‘Lil Heathen’ took on fellow UFC legend Eddie Alvarez in the BKFC ring, subsequently breaking his jaw and going on to win the fight
On Saturday in his return to his home town
Following his win over ‘The Underground King’, Stephens sent a chilling warning to Conor McGregor
telling him his time at the top is up and that he wanted to fight him next
McGregor and Stephens then ended up facing off in the BKFC ring, and it seemed certain that Conor McGregor‘s next fight would come under the BKFC banner
the Irishman’s contract with the UFC put a stop to a potential fight against Stephens in BKFC
Fortunately for the Iowa native, though, McGregor recently teased his comeback to the UFC
claiming that he and Michael Chandler have ‘unfinished business’
READ MORE: Joe Rogan offers his opinion on Conor McGregor’s potential comeback to the UFC
Although ‘The Notorious’ is eyeing up a comeback fight against Chandler first, with a win in his hometown, Des Moines, Stephens could take one step closer to a fight against McGregor, potentially snatching it from Michael Chandler.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jeremy Stephens (@lilheathenmma)
Despite it seeming certain that if the former UFC double champion returns he will face ‘Iron’ Mike
timing continues to be everything in the sport of MMA
and with Chandler now 1-5 in his last six fights
it remains unclear where he goes from here
Not only did McGregor and Stephens briefly clash in BKFC making their rivalry relevant
Stephens was part of one of the most viral moments in UFC history during a McGregor press conference
McGregor and Stephens shared the stage at the UFC 205 press conference
and after ‘Lil Heathen’ claimed he would give the Irishman the hardest fight out of anyone on stage
That moment remains as one of the most iconic moments in the promotion’s history
he can showcase exactly what he meant nine years ago
With Stephens’ contract with the UFC only covering one fight
he could find himself back in the UFC full-time
he still has the chance of fighting McGregor with the gloves off in BKFC
This is going to be a test of faith for Ewan McGregor’s admirers
How much are they willing to endure to see him in the flesh in a painfully windy psychodrama
which grinds its way to a wildly implausible conclusion
The audience at the preview I attended at Wyndham’s couldn’t resist cheering and applauding, Broadway-style, when the A-lister made his first entrance. Kudos to him, I say, for appearing on a London stage for the first time in nearly 20 years. McGregor doesn’t come unstuck anywhere near as badly as Sigourney Weaver did in The Tempest
Yet the truth is that he simply doesn’t have the gravitas needed for the role of a superstar architect whose personal

UFC veteran who recently announced his Irish presidential ambitions says he looks forward to the conversation being ‘absorbed by the public’

Conor McGregor said he “spoke from the heart” while being interviewed by Tucker Carlson in his Dublin pub after the pair embarked on a tour of the Irish capital
McGregor, 36, and the former Fox News host sat down in The Black Forge Inn in Crumlin on Tuesday evening for a two-hour chat to discuss the embattled former UFC champion’s political views
“We had a great chat with Tucker Carlson highlighting the issues Ireland is facing
Ireland’s fight and also Ireland’s delight,” McGregor said inside the pub Tuesday
and we want to keep a positive outlook and move incrementally
“I spoke from my heart and we’ll see how it goes,” he added
and said he was looking forward to the conversation being “absorbed by the Irish public.”
McGregor said that Carlson, the right-wing media pundit who has since interviewed the likes of Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on his network since being fired by Fox News in 2023
which had not been released at the time of writing
is expected to be broadcast on Carlson’s channels
The MMA artist issued a public invitation to X on Monday and promised a “celebratory atmosphere
" He then stated that he was “put on this earth to serve and protect” his home nation
a center-right party in the Republic of Ireland
along with two attendees sporting MAGA caps
“President McGregor,” shouted a man posing for photos standing beside an open bar
Carlson and McGregor were both photographed inside The Black Forge beside South Dublin County Councillor Glen Moore
The Road House star used his visit to the White House on March 17 to make a plea to the U.S
government about the “illegal immigration racket is running ravage on the country.”
“Our government is the government of zero action with zero accountability,” he told reporters beside White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt
“Our money is being spent on overseas issues that is nothing to do with the Irish people.”
McGregor is estimated to have little chance of gaining the necessary support to run for the Irish presidency from 20 members of the Oireachtas—Irish parliament—or the endorsement of at least four local authorities.
His political ambitions were announced as he appeals a High Court civil jury’s finding that he raped a woman in a Dublin hotel.
Last November, Nikita Hand, 35, also known as Nikita Ni Laimhin, won her claim against McGregor after accusing the professional fighter of committing the assault in December 2018.
McGregor, who denies the allegations, has said he had consensual sex with the woman and is appealing against the verdict. Last month, the Court of Appeal in Dublin heard that a motion will be brought to adduce alleged new evidence in early May.

735 days. That’s how long Michael Chandler was out for in between his fights with Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira. Chandler spent much of that time on ‘The Ultimate Fighter 31’ coaching and preparing for Conor McGregor
Though, the highly-anticipated McGregor payday never came through for Chandler, the Irishman withdrawing from their scheduled bout at UFC 303 last summer due to a toe injury
Chandler wouldn’t be rescheduled with Chandler ultimately deciding to move on
‘Iron’ fought and lost to Charles Oliveira off a two-year layoff and most recently Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314
At 38 years old, Michael Chandler is on the worst losing skid of his career, hearing many calls for retirement
While some are quick to blame Chandler’s downfall on his inactivity, former UFC title challenger Renato Moicano believes the fault lies with Conor McGregor
“A lot of people are gonna trash on me because I’m trashing Michael Chandler,” Moicano said on the Show Me The Money Podcast
“I think that was f****** McGregor’s fault
👀Renato Moicano believes that Chandler’s decision to wait out for Conor’s return cost him years off his career. “McGregor destroyed his career. Two years without fighting, waiting. You cannot count on McGregor. He’s talking about being President” pic.twitter.com/g6jKsJ1MEt
Chandler isn’t getting any younger with his lopsided performance against Paddy Pimblett showing it
Chandler held out longer than he needed to for McGregor
but that being said the American did his part in getting to UFC 303 last summer injury-free
McGregor’s withdrawal against Chandler was a career-first in the UFC
The superstar has not been booked to fight ever since
“You can not count on McGregor,” Moicano said
“He’s talking about being the f****** President of Ireland
‘The Eagle’ absolutely destroyed ‘The Notorious’
Even though Joe Rogan claims a prime McGregor may have beaten Nurmagomedov
it was the Dagestani who walked away with the bragging rights
the former lightweight champion can enjoy rubbing his victory in his rival’s face
WOW: Daniel Cormier angrily confronted Khabib Nurmagomedov after UFC legend embarrassed him
When Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor set foot in the cage together
That’s because the pair genuinely despised one another
From Nurmagomedov slapping the Irishman’s former friend
to McGregor throwing a dolly through a bus window in an attempt to get at his nemesis
when the fight itself finally rolled around
And now he’s rubbed salt in the wounds by sharing a video on his Instagram story of himself submitting the Dubliner
He captioned the post: “I know you guys don’t like this.”
While the contest itself wasn’t exactly a barnburner
what occurred afterwards provided entertainment in abundance
Nurmagomedov leaped into the crowd and started brawling with his opponent’s teammates
The outrageous moment has undoubtedly made its way into UFC history books
Following the incident, Nurmagomedov told Cormier why he jumped the cage.
