in April A fire broke out in a multi-story home in Mechanicville on Saturday morning Fire crews responded to the fire at 156 Saratoga Avenue around 8:45 a.m NY — 45-year-old Charles Brennan of Mechanicville was sentenced to 97 months in prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy and firearm offenses Brennan was convicted in September 2024 after a four-day jury trial Evidence during the trial showed that between July and September 2022 Brennan participated in a drug conspiracy involving the distribution and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine The jury found that Brennan distributed methamphetamine twice from his Mechanicville residence authorities discovered 9 grams of pure methamphetamine including a pistol with an altered serial number The jury determined that Brennan possessed the methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it jurors acquitted Brennan on two counts of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime Nardacci also imposed a four-year term of supervised release to follow Brennan's prison sentence NewsChannel 13 has learned that there was a structure fire early Saturday morning in the city of Mechanicville Authorities said the 3rd alarm fire was on Saratoga Avenue on the corner of Farrell Street and firefighters had it under control at 9:15 a.m There was mutual aid on the scene from six other departments There were no injuries to any of the firefighters or anyone inside the home But the Mechanicville Fire Department said approximately five people are displaced from the home was exposed to the fire and has damage on the outside too Mechanicville Fire Department’s Deputy Chief Matt Dunn said that the home is not a total loss but will need repairs The Bleau Truesell family
