Iowa (KWQC) - iLLUMINATE by Crossroads returned bigger and brighter Tuesday night at Weed Park in Muscatine
iLLUMINATE welcomed the community to celebrate the holiday season while supporting essential services for seniors and people with disabilities in Muscatine and Tipton
Crossroads will turn the lights on in the historic Weed Park in Muscatine every night from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m
bringing together thousands of families and individuals for a memorable
iLLUMINATE welcomed over 6,000 cars and raised over $84,000 for Crossroads’ critical services
the first year of iLLUMINATE had a setback including equipment being stolen
the community helped out and were able to replace all of the stolen items within 48 hours
Crossroads provides support to over 600 individuals through eight service lines
with a mission to “cultivate choice and inclusion for seniors and people with disabilities,” Crossroads said
said there are over 45 light displays in the drive through experience
They ask people to come in on the Colorado entrance of Weed Park
Francis says holiday music can be played on channel 88.5 radio as people drive through the park
At the front of park there will be volunteers collecting donations
Volunteers will also be around the park directing traffic
providing these services comes at a significant cost
and the organization relies on the generosity of the community to bridge the funding gap that Medicaid reimbursements alone cannot cover
and a sliding-scale fee structure for senior services
ensuring resources remain accessible to those who need them most
“We’re so grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and donors who make this event possible,” said Francis
“Every dollar raised at iLLUMINATE will go directly to supporting the essential services we provide
from Meals on Wheels and Adult Day programs to Supported Community Living and Day Habilitation
This event is truly a celebration of our community’s commitment to inclusion and care.”
iLLUMINATE has been made possible through the incredible support of sponsors
ensuring that 100% of donations made during the event will benefit Crossroads’ mission
Sponsorships are still available; interested individuals and businesses are encouraged to contact Megan Francis for details
