Julia exemplified her Christian faith in all aspects of her life
She was a shining light to everyone that she met
Growing up Julia loved her extracurricular activities - participating in plays
Her love for children was a huge part of her adult life as well
including the time she spent teaching kindergarten at Eastgate Christian Academy and the role of doting “Auntie Juju” that she had in the lives of not only her nephews and nieces
but in the lives of so many children of her friends and extended family
Julia loved to have fun and adventure and loved to include and help others as part of that
She frequently travelled to the ocean area since this was her favorite place to talk to God and find rest for her soul
Julia had a passion for baking and loved to incorporate that into her gatherings with bake offs
and work – always filling her gatherings with fun and excitement
Julia’s passion for baking extended to her work where she excelled beyond the bakery
progressing into a store manager role at Hannaford supermarkets from a part-time position in high school
where she worked in marketing – a role that she loved
and is the middle sibling of five children
Julia was also the best aunt in the world to her beloved nieces and nephews
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday
at Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home
where we will come together and share in our memories and love for Julia
and at her request we are asking folks who join us to please not wear black as this is not a somber occasion
people who wish to participate can do so by bringing balloons to celebrate
The event will be followed by a service at 11:00 a.m
and a processional to the Danville Pine Street Cemetery in Auburn will happen directly after

PORTLAND (WGME) -- Wednesday is the first day of school for some in Gray-New Gloucester
where the high school is by far the oldest and least renovated building in the district
A proposal to upgrade several spaces is on the November ballot
The proposed school improvements will appear on three bond questions in November
but the largest by far asks for $57 million to renovate and expand several spaces in and outside of the high school
and it’s so dangerous,” Gray-New Gloucester High School junior Ella Kenney said
“A bunch of my friends have gotten hurt playing soccer there.”
would upgrade and expand the athletic fields to avoid getting overuse and build a new gymnasium
we had like a week where we couldn’t even practice on one side of the court because there’s leakage,” Gray-New Gloucester High School junior Jackson Libby said
it’s overcrowded at lunchtime and negatively impacting the school’s drama performances
you can’t go on it barefoot or without very protective shoes on,” Gray-New Gloucester High School junior Quinn Coreau said
“And It’s also very hard with our cafeteria
All of this comes with a price tag of $57 million to taxpayers
residents in Gray-New Gloucester should expect a rise between $600 and $750 in annual property taxes
Superintendent Craig King hopes the cost will be closer to $43 million
so there are concerns about what the cost is.”
“I think a strong school district makes for a strong community,” MSAD15 School Board Chair Penny Collins said

PORTLAND, Maine - Throughout the season, the Marshwood High School girls basketball team has rallied from deficits and left the game with a win
Wednesday's latest attempt to create such the comeback story fell short

Ella Kenney scored a game-high 20 points for Gray-NG
"I think (the game) was physical all around," Theriault said
"We had an overtime win against them in the season
and we knew they were going to come out with everything they had
We had to be ready for that; and I think our offense started a little slow."
"It's kind of a lot of pressure (at the Expo)
and I think we kind of got in our heads a little bit
but not soon enough for a team good enough like Gray to take advantage of."
Marshwood cuts deficit to two in third quarterMarshwood trailed 30-21 at halftime
but found a spark in the third quarter and cut the deficit to two
Steele connected on a 3-pointer to push the lead back to 37-32 going into the fourth
and we were letting them get to the rim a little bit too easily," Littlefield said
The Hawks went a little more than 4 minutes without scoring in the fourth
"The moments at the end of the game don't matter as much
That's something this team has done really well
keep it there and then can rally at the end of the game
I thought the effort there at the end was excellent."
Theriault said Gray did a good job of slowing down the momentum anytime it shifted in Marshwood's favor
"They would call a timeout and kind of settle things
or even just huddle together which I saw them do a few times on the court," Theriault said
Marshwood ended the the season with a 17-3 record
substantially better than last year's 8-10 record and missing out on the Class A South tournament
Littlefield said the team 'absolutely' exceeded expectations
"We have some strong players," Littlefield said
and the girls that filled them were role players last year who really stepped up and became helpful in many ways."
Theriault said she wouldn't have changed anything about the season
"I got to play basketball with my best friends every day," she said
I'm really thankful for the opportunity I got this year."
