The project was completed nearly two weeks of schedule

New Hyde Park, NY — A lucky player scored a $17,243 top prize in the New York Lottery’s Take 5 midday drawing on Monday after purchasing a winning ticket in New Hyde Park
The ticket was sold at King Kullen, located at 2305 Jericho Turnpike, according to lottery officials
offering players two chances each day to hit the top prize by matching numbers drawn from a field of one through 39
Lottery winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize
The Take 5 game allows for multiple top-prize winners depending on the number of matching tickets sold for each drawing
Monday’s midday win adds to a growing list of recent payouts across the state
The New York Lottery encourages players to check their tickets promptly to avoid missing the opportunity to claim prizes before expiration
Players can view winning numbers and prize details by visiting the New York Lottery website or tuning in to televised drawings
The New York Lottery continues to be the largest and most profitable lottery system in North America
contributing $3.8 billion during the 2023-2024 fiscal year to support New York State public schools
Lottery officials also remind players to seek help if they or someone they know struggles with gambling

Police in Nassau County are searching for a missing New Hyde Park woman who was last seen Wednesday morning walking away from a medical office in her hometown
about three hours after she was last seen leaving the New Hyde Park facility
according to the Nassau County Police Department’s Missing Persons Squad
Detectives are urging anyone with information to contact the Missing Persons Squad at 516.573.7347 or call 911

A Long Island man used a can of spray paint and a model boat to viciously attack another man during a violent home invasion
is accused of forcing his way into a 23-year-old man’s home on Moore Street in North New Hyde Park around 5:45 p.m
Collins allegedly sprayed the victim in the face with paint
then repeatedly bashed him in the head with both the can and a wooden model boat
The beating caused a gash to the back of the victim’s head and extensive bruising
The victim managed to shove Collins out the door and call 911
Collins reportedly hurled a rock at the house
Officers quickly tracked down Collins nearby and arrested him without incident
He is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday

Noll intentionally swerved into the Kawasaki
the motorcyclist suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene
was seated in the passenger seat on Noll's truck and was not injured
Noll was arrested and charged with second-degree murder

NY — A man injured a detective who was trying to arrest him in connection with a theft at a New Hyde Park store on Saturday
and hid assorted merchandise around 3:15 p.m
Williams and Addison left the store without paying
Detectives found the duo nearby and placed them under arrest
Williams became "violent and combative," causing a detective to suffer a cut to her hand and an injury to her knee
She was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment
Williams was charged with second-degree assault
They had been scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court
Investigators said that both Williams and Addison had open bench warrants from New York City
