it’s always magical and changes with each passing hour and day,” said the photographer
who works with the images from the camera until they look “like a dream I’d like to live in.”

Theater is progress. Theater is always moving forward. Always innovating. Always creating something new. New Works are the lifeblood of the Theatre. Whenever a new play is given a World Premiere, it should be celebrated, which is what brought me to Theatreworks New Milford this weekend. Written by, directed by, and starring Dorothy Lyman
TheatreWorks presented the world premiere of Upstate to great success
an elderly widow who is taking care of the family farm with the help of family friend and surrogate-daughter
The drama begins when Elizabeth's biological daughter
visit for the weekend with the intent of convincing Elizabeth that it’s time to sell the farm and move into an assisted living home after sustaining an injury from one of her pigs
while dealing with their own serious doubts
the cast is rounded out by Patti Reese’s Christie
who is the foil to Betsy: Betsy’s harshness is balanced by Christie’s gentleness
as both “daughters” try to do what's best for Elizabeth
the set and props must be lauded for bringing the farmhouse to life
With the set constructed by the team of Sharbargh Scenic
Elizabeth's kitchen came to life by feeling rustic
but also well cleaned and decorated in the way that only a Grandmother's house could be

NEWTON − For the first time in the history of the program
New Milford wrestling is a sectional champion
The Knights defeated 25-time sectional champion Kittatinny
"It's emotional to even think about," coach Ray Cottiers said. "It's been a long road this season and the last few with this group. They've battled through injuries and setbacks and to come here against a great opponent and a legendary coach in John Gill
The dual came down to the final matchup of the night
when freshman Stelios Psarianos pulled out a 5-4 decision over Kittatinny's Dylan Tighe
"I didn't even think about it," Psarianos said
"I live for this sport and I just went out on the mat to try and do what I could do."
Leading 3-1 at the start of the third period
Tighe took down Psarianos only for the freshman to reverse and pull ahead
Psarianos then rode out Tighe for the remainder of the period to cement the win
New Milford (16-1) built an 18-10 lead on consecutive pins by seniors Devin and Jerzey Ryan at 132 and 138 pounds
The Knights led by as many as 19 points thanks to pins at 157 and 165 pounds by senior Joseph Langschultz and junior Robbie Bianchi
"We needed six there and it looked a little questionable at times," Cottiers said
"Another key for us was Aramis Hernandez at 120 getting a pin early
He works double sessions with us and privates and he's battled with weight issues
so getting a pin there was a huge part as well."
Kittatinny (12-11) won four straight bouts
to pull the matchup to 35-31 for the final bout
The Knights' only loss this season came in the NJIC semifinals against Hasbrouck Heights
Cottiers is a New Milford alum himself and in his 12th season as the Knights' coach
"It's been a full commitment from the coaches to the wrestlers to the parents that all bought in and the people who traveled an hour to be here and support us," Cottiers said
I ceded all practice responsibilities to him
He's been running technique and pushing the guys
He's a major reason we are here right now with a trophy tonight."
Langschultz extended the lead with a pin in 58 seconds
Bianchi then walked on the mat at 165 pounds and trailed by as much as 13-5 in the second period
but rallied late in the period to pull within one takedown against Aran Kover
"I just kept thinking about the work I put in at practice and doing it for my team and for this community that I love," Bianchi said
Bianchi shifted from bottom position and reversed
earning the pin with 39 seconds left in the third period
While the reversal and back points would have given Bianchi the lead
the six points proved to be crucial for New Milford
"He's the cardiac kid with us," Cottiers said
"We have grown accustomed to matches like that with Robbie
He's been with us since he was a freshman and working hard at club
"Having a moment like this as a freshman gets me very excited
It makes me think about what we can accomplish between now and when I am a senior." - Psarianos
I just wanted to lay it on them after that and try my hardest." - Bianchi

West Hartford’s Conard High School boys hockey team defeated New Milford 3-1 to advance to their second straight Division III Championship Game

knowing this was his team’s best and final opportunity to force overtime
Dylan Smith (#15) battles for a loose puck
Goalie Brendan Murphy made multiple key saves
struggling to pass efficiently or maintain possession in Conard’s zone
With 40 seconds remaining and 18 seconds left on the power play
New Milford pulled its goalie for a six-on-four advantage
Time expired on the power play without a change in score
junior wing Torin McGoldrick buried an empty-net goal
sealing his team’s second straight title berth
but it was New Milford’s John King who struck first at 8:46 in the opening period
a New Milford player was called for tripping
firing the puck into the net to tie the game at 1-1
Liam Alver (#4) levels a New Milford defender
relentlessly pressuring the Green Wave defense
Bradan Gainey finished off a well-placed feed from Nate Dubois
New Milford sophomore goalie Tristan Kamp held firm
making several impressive saves and keeping his team within striking distance as they escaped the period down one
New Milford found more rhythm in the third
Senior defenseman Luke Shaffer and junior defenseman Dylan Smith anchored the blue line with gritty
McGoldrick found himself one-on-one with Kamp; Kamp again proved to be New Milford’s saving grace
This isn’t the same Conard team as last year
which has been reflected in a slightly diminished record
winning seems to be embedded in this team’s DNA
Conard will now look to defend its Division III title this weekend at M&T Bank Arena at Quinnipiac University
They will face the JBWA on Saturday at 1 pm
