The citation resulted from an incident on Sunday

Using decibel meters, police determined that the source of the noise was an outdoor rodeo event hosted at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center at 355 South William St. in Newburgh, hosted by Zamora Entertainment.
Although the event took place within Newburgh city limits
police said the sound levels measured in New Windsor exceeded the allowable noise limits set by New Windsor Town Code

The extension will run from the airport station to the new Windsor station
Train horns blared and bells sounded while engineers in orange safety vests tested the SMART rail line tracks in Windsor Saturday ahead of opening the line to passengers
which is done to ensure the rail line passes all of the necessary safety checks
kicked off at the beginning of the month with switching equipment checks
Saturday’s test marked the first time a train operated on the tracks
daily throughout the month of April between the Sonoma County Airport Station and new Windsor Station
“This is a very important milestone for SMART,” said Julia Gonzalez
communications and marketing manager with SMART Train
the Windsor station is the first of the rail line’s northern extensions that is set to open
engineers will begin doing simulated service testing
people can expect to see trains running on a more consistent schedule
It is unclear when the Windsor extension will open to passengers
but a grand opening party is planned for June 13
The Windsor extension will run from the airport station to the new station with future extensions planned for Healdsburg and Cloverdale
Gonzalez said the most-used station is the one in downtown Petaluma
but early modeling has shown the Windsor station could be a close second
Along with offering an extended service for train commuters
the project also comes with an additional three-mile stretch of the bicycle and pedestrian pathway
“It is going to provide opportunities for people commuting for work and leisure,” Gonzalez said
“There are so many fantastic things to do in Windsor
It is a great launching point to visit wineries and to enjoy activities on the town green.”

The park will be at 1060 S. Emporia St., part of an area that currently has only Ben Bezoff Park. The Denver City Council approved a $750,000 purchase of the land on Monday.
“We promised the voters who approved the Parks Legacy Fund six years ago that we would do this kind of thing, and this is the first time it's happening in District Five,” said Councilmember Amanda Sawyer, who characterized the purchase of the land as “joy.”
The Parks Legacy Fund, a sales tax voters passed in 2018, pays for land acquisition, planning, and maintenance for parks. The .25 percent tax adds 25 cents to every $100 purchase.
Most of the money for the sale will come from the Parks Legacy Fund, though $75,000 will be donated by the nonprofit Denver Park Trust.
The property is at the intersection of South Dayton Street and East Mississippi Avenue, across the street from Challenge School.
The city will pay $750,000 to the land’s current owner, the High Line Swim Club. Parks and Recreation also asked city council for $200,000 for planning, tree care and the cost of the sale.
The new park will serve 1,700 households, according to the city. It’s part of the city’s effort to ensure every Denverite can walk, roll or ride to a park within 10 minutes of their homes.

Testing is set to occur through April to ensure lights, gates and bells are operating correctly.
Engineers are testing the SMART rail line tracks, and cars will be heading into the new Windsor station this month, to ensure the rail line meets all safety checks before opening up to passengers as early as the end of May.
Initial testing this week includes checking switching equipment before the rail line’s first train rolls into town for testing this upcoming Saturday.
Should all systems check out during the month of testing, the rail line will begin running simulated service in May. It’s possible the rail line could be open to passengers by the end of that month.
“We don’t have a set date yet, but our plan is to open up for passengers before our grand [opening] party on June 13,” Gonzalez said.
In April, testing of train cars and switching equipment will occur on the rail line daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., between the Sonoma County Airport Station and new Windsor Station, at 9001 Windsor Road.

Engineers will be checking to ensure that grade crossing warning systems, including lights, gates and bells, are operating correctly.
The testing will close the Airport station on weekends except for Saturday, April 19, when Petaluma hosts its annual Butter & Egg Days Festival and Parade.
“This is the systems testing phase,” said Julia Gonzalez, communications and marketing manager with SMART Train.
Gonzalez noted that during this April testing phase, trains will not be running on a particular schedule and may be focused on a single crossing for a prolonged period of time.
“We don’t want the public to expect a pattern,” she said.
One thing the public should expect? Train horns. During testing hours.
Gonzalez said the train horn will be used at all crossings, which occur at Airport Boulevard, Shiloh Road, Mitchell Lane and the Windsor Road Roundabout.
Engineers will also sound the horn “if there’s any activity around the tracks,” Gonzalez added.
