deputies responded to reports of a shooting and found two people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds
North Lauderdale Fire Rescue pronounced one victim dead at the scene
Crews rushed a second victim to a nearby hospital for treatment
Deputies said they are actively investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting
They have not yet said whether they are seeking any suspects or persons of interest

Deputies say his injuries are non-life-threatening

The reported stabbing happened this past Saturday at a townhome in the 1800 block of Runners Way
Deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a report of two women stabbed inside the residence
The victims were identified as Maggie Pouer
who authorities identified as Vital Joseph’s ex-girlfriend
Detectives say Vital Joseph was seen on doorbell camera video entering the home just before the stabbing
They also confirmed that Maggie Pouer’s granddaughter discovered the scene and called 911
They are losing a lot of blood,” she told dispatchers
Family members say Isabelle Joseph is recovering at home but was unaware Vital Joseph had been brought back to Broward County
Vital Joseph’s defense attorney’ invoked his client’s right to remain silent during a bond court appearance on Friday
The motive behind the attack remains under investigation
Records show Vital Joseph is being held without bond as of Friday afternoon
He is facing one count each of first-degree murder
attempted first-degree murder and burglary of a dwelling with battery

“I saw that they brought an unconscious person
I’m totally shocked and my husband and I are totally shocked,” she said
The sound of a helicopter and deputies outside awoke neighbors after the stabbing
which deputies said happened just before 2 a.m
so I figured they were trying to find probably the person that did it,” Franklin said
Deputies were still searching for a suspect as of Saturday morning

the Broward Sheriff’s Office said they received a call about a possible drowning in the pool out back
The first deputies at the scene immediately began CPR
The 8-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Court documents obtained by Local 10 News on Thursday reveal the allegations that led to an elected official’s arrest in Broward County over the weekend
Deputies arrested North Lauderdale Commissioner Regina Martin on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge on Sunday
According to a Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest report filed with the county’s clerk of courts
the arrest stemmed from a fight between Martin and her daughter that evening
BSO Deputy Cordacia Brown wrote that Martin
had confronted her daughter “for not coming home the previous night.”
Brown wrote that because her daughter was “lying” to her
Martin “threw (two) plastic bottles of Bath & Body Works spray” at her
“It should be noted that I spoke with (Martin) who admitted to throwing perfume bottles at (her daughter)
she did not admit to the bottles hitting her,” Brown wrote
Martin would later bond out of jail following her arrest
Local 10 News contacted the commissioner — who is up for re-election — seeking comment Thursday
We were awaiting a response as of the publication of this article
On Wednesday, Martin, who is also a pastor at an Oakland Park church, posted on Facebook
No upcoming hearings were listed in Broward court records as of Thursday

deputies said in an arrest report obtained by Local 10 News on Thursday

Family members said Nina had been visiting a friend at the complex with her sister
She was shot multiple times while waiting for an Uber at around 6:45 that evening
Doctors at Broward Health North pronounced her dead
Witnesses reported seeing multiple suspects getting out of a car and opening fire
and deputies said they were able to identify Mobley as one of them
He was being held without bond in the BSO Main Jail as of Tuesday afternoon

– Deputies arrested North Lauderdale City Commissioner Regina Martin on a domestic battery charge over the weekend
Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies working out of the city took her into custody on Sunday
Details regarding the circumstances of her arrest weren’t immediately available as of Monday morning
while Broward court records list it as a misdemeanor
Martin, 42, is also the senior pastor at Embassy Church of South Florida in Oakland Park, according to her official biography
which describes her as “the first African-American Caribbean woman to be elected to office” in the city
It’s not the commissioner’s first time in hot water: In 2022, investigators with the Broward Office of the Inspector General found that she violated campaign finance laws in 2020
Local 10 News has requested a copy of Martin’s arrest report and has contacted the city’s mayor seeking comment
A representative from Martin’s church had no comment Monday
Martin is running for re-election for the city’s District C
One of her neighbors described what she saw over the weekend
There was a lady walking on the sidewalk on the phone being loud,” Sonia Arevallo said
I was thinking I was going to vote for her

– The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating a multi-vehicle crash that occurred Friday morning
According to BSO spokeswoman Miranda Grossman
the crash involving three vehicles was reported at about 7:30 a.m
in the area of Southwest 81st Avenue and Southwest Seventh Court in North Lauderdale
It’s a super busy street,” one witness said
Grossman said BSO deputies and North Lauderdale Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene
I was able to climb out of the passenger door on my own,” one of the drivers
Witnesses said one speeding car struck an SUV
which then lost control and slammed into a white refrigeration company truck
“The first thing I realized was there was a bunch of kids
and I guess the car that had 90ed in front of me and lost control -- they were carrying like three or four kids and laying them on the grass
and it looked like injuries,” Shopovick said
Grossman confirmed that medics transported six people to area hospitals
“At least two of them got ejected from the car
so I don’t think they had car seats or seat belts,” Shopovick said
they didn’t seem alert and my prayers go out to them.”
Grossman confirmed that the victims hospitalized suffered injuries that were believed to be non-life-threatening
She said the north and southbound lanes of Southwest 81st Avenue near Southwest Seventh Court were shut down after the crash
The driver of a Toyota involved in the crash was issued a citation

Bryanna Nina was looking forward to graduating from high school next year
her grieving family is left to arrange her funeral
