a Mercedes into another vehicle on Route 22 in North Plainfield was also charged with second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose and second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun said Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald The attempted murder charge carries a potential sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison The road rage incident began at about 8:45 p.m 2 when a North Plainfield resident told police that while diving eastbound on North Avenue and Madison Avenue in Dunellen a dark Mercedes-Benz attempted to merge into the victim's lane then eventually passing the victim and another vehicle on the right shoulder of the road The Mercedes then got behind the victim’s vehicle and began to follow it for approximately 15 minutes into North Plainfield While driving west on Route 22 in North Plainfield the victim told authorities that the Mercedes pulled up alongside the vehicle and fired multiple rounds shattering the victim’s front driver-side window Officers responded to a 911 call of a vehicle being hit by gunfire during a road rage incident who reported that while driving east on North Avenue and Madison Avenue in Dunellen at around 8:45 p.m. a dark-colored Mercedes-Benz tried to merge into the victim’s lane of travel eventually passing the victim and another vehicle from the right shoulder of the road The Mercedes-Benz then got behind the victim’s vehicle and began to follow it for about 15 minutes into North Plainfield the victim reported that the Mercedes-Benz pulled up alongside the vehicle and fired multiple rounds shattering the victim’s front driver-side window perforating the fuel cap on the driver’s side and shattering the rear passenger side window before fleeing the area The victim reported being unharmed from the incident Piscopo was identified as the driver of the Mercedes-Benz following an investigation by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit along with North Plainfield detectives Piscopo turned herself in to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Piscopo was processed and lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention
