CT — A man was arrested on multiple voyeurism charges
was charged with 12 counts of conspiracy to commit voyeurism with intent to arouse or satisfy sexual desire
Arruda is accused of secretly recording nine female coworkers using an employee bathroom at the Pizza Lady restaurant on Liberty Street in Pawcatuck, The Day of New London reported
Arruda is accused of hiding his phone on a bathroom shelf to make recordings, according to The Day.
He is also facing charges for possession of child pornography in Rhode Island. He was arrested by members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on Jan. 2, according to The Newport Dispatch
Arruda was extradited from Rhode Island to Connecticut on the voyeurism charges
He was released on $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Thursday

(WLNE) — A dreary day couldn’t stop the 25th annual Pawcatuck River Duck Race
Nearly 20,000 rubber ducks were dumped into the Pawcatuck River on Saturday
and hundreds gathered on the border of Westerly and Pawcatuck to take in the spectacle
and said his friend even knitted special sweaters and a hat for the occasion
“I got a brother and a friend Kenny who are way too into ducks,” he said
“Ducks are everywhere in their apartment
spectators can buy rubber ducks to compete for prizes
with proceeds going towards local schools and nonprofits
Race director Dezmarie Doyle said there was a big prize for the 25th annual event
or a trip for four to Disney,” she said
“We had 99 prizes in total this year.”
The rubber ducks float about a quarter of a mile down the river
where they funnel into a tube in order of the top finishers
Reed had a few words for anyone considering if they should come next year
“Always look for a good excuse to make time to spend with friends and family
even if it’s something ridiculous.”

"809 Cafe is the only Dominican restaurant in the area," Smith said
"The name stems from the original area code of Dominican Republic
We are a family-owned business and we all consider ourselves 'foodies.'"
He said the food is cooked fresh daily with high-quality ingredients
"We understand the importance of excellent customer service and we want everyone to feel welcomed when they enter our restaurant," Smith said
"Our hope is that everyone leaves satisfied not only with their meal but also feeling like they are a part of our family."
He added that the North Stonington location "allows us the opportunity to cater to not only the locals but also the truckers and those travelling on 95," as they're near the first exit sign when entering Connecticut
The Pawcatuck restaurant is also close to the Welcome to Connecticut sign
"This location is right on the river and allows us to provide a more formal dining experience," Smith said
"While the area has some amazing restaurants
we felt there was a need for Latin cuisine and we are excited for the opportunity to provide fresh Dominican food to the community."

(WLNE) — The Westerly Police Department said two cars ended up in the Pawcatuck River after a crash on Main Street
Police said one car hit another in a lot as it drove into a boat ramp
The department added that it was most likely a medical event
as witnesses said that the driver was clutching their chest as the incident occurred
There were no other injuries and the driver was transported to the hospital
