for housing after a fire the Director of Property Management at Chestnut Hill Realty (the company that owns the Village Green apartment complex in Plainville) told NBC 10 about the company's response to the alleged arson "The fire at Village Green apartments was certainly a tragic event One that was clearly unnecessary and preventable Since November 18th we have seen an incredible outpouring of support from the Village Green and local communities Our site team is coordinating and sponsoring a food truck event on December 5th where 100% of donations will go to the displaced residents Other residents and people in the local community have dropped off handmade items The displaced residents have been notified that they can stop by and pick up what they need Eight of displaced residents have been staying in a local hotel while they wait for another apartment or decide on where to go next The others are staying with friends or family Almost half of the displaced residents will be returning to another apartment at Village Green Our on-site team has been and will be working hard to get these apartments ready for them as soon as possible Some of the apartments are presently occupied by residents who will be moving out We expect all of these displaced residents will be moving back in in the next few of weeks We have a couple of displaced residents who are considering transferring to one of our sister properties in the Norwood area Our goal was to work with these residents as quickly as we could to provide options and resources to help them with their housing choices We have provided some residents with information on potential financial resources and contact information of local agencies who may be able to provide aid All the residents who choose to stay in the local hotel were notified a few days after the fire that while we are under no obligation to do so our office would cover the cost of the hotel through the end of this month We re-enforced to everyone that it was imperative that they contact the company where they purchased their renter’s insurance to start the claims process We very much understand the challenges these displaced residents are facing especially given the time of year so we have agreed to extend their hotel stays for another week." 2025 at 6:19 pm ET.css-79elbk{position:relative;}Police Lt who worked for the Plainville
