He has a lot of games under his belt, played in a big program, and he won. On top of that, he is a bigger body type with a deep ball it’s hard to pass up the opportunity to see what’s there Will Howard 2024 Deep Pass Attempts Contextualization “I think that it was a great value pick”, ESPN reporter Brooke Pryor said of the Steelers drafting Howard in the sixth round on the Bishop and Friends podcast “That’s a credit to the organization for being patient and waiting until the right time to get a quarterback to maximize the value of that pick” Many thought the team might draft Shedeur Sanders or Jaxson Dart in the first round they thought the team would draft him in the third round—and then the fourth round settling on their quarterback with the selection of Howard two rounds later And he offers more than just value relative to draft position “Will Howard checks a lot of boxes” for the Steelers he really fits the mold as far as stature and somewhat similar playing style to Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph” Even Ben Roethlisberger was in favor of it, noting some have called him Ben 2.0. On his podcast, the former Steelers quarterback offered Howard some advice as he enters the NFL More realistically, of course, he probably settles into a backup role. The percentage of quarterbacks drafted in the sixth round who develop into starters is rather low. But the Steelers would settle for a long-term quality backup if they can get that out of Howard He’s not gonna command all of the attention and be a sideshow” Regardless of the outcome, many seem to believe the Steelers are the right team for Will Howard He might not blossom beyond his draft positioning but the organization will give him the best chance of doing so many Steelers fans will probably trip over their keyboards trying to dispute that the Steelers’ quarterback depth chart is Mason Rudolph The assumption remains that Aaron Rodgers will sign and that he will be the starter with Howard developing as the third quarterback If that isn’t how the Steelers expected things to go would they have made an earlier move for a quarterback Quis autem vel eum iure reprehenderit qui in provision to criminalize homelessness did not pass this year.  “I cannot understand how any person thinks it is fair and just to make it a crime to be homeless People do not choose to endure the suffering of sleeping on the street not knowing where their next meal will come from Those who find themselves in such a difficult situation that they are without stable housing do not have $500 to spare.  “There are many ways to help the unhoused population in our state We must invest in more low-barrier homeless shelters and transitional housing and crisis intervention response teams.  “I am thankful that my colleagues saw reason and decided not to move forward with this cruel policy I truly hope this idea is not revisited in the future.”  OK (KTUL) — A man has been handed several charges early hours of April 25, Indiana Republicans passed the final version of House Bill 1001 “Many Hoosiers struggle to keep up with the increasing cost of housing The 2025 state budget passed by Indiana Republicans does not address the very real needs of working families.  Republicans announced that our state revenue was $2.4 billion less than expected To cut critical programs for Hoosiers like public health initiatives not only is there no solution to make housing more affordable but funding for housing resources like the Housing First program was eliminated “While these services that benefit hundreds of thousands of Hoosiers were cut the private school voucher program will receive an additional $100 million of taxpayer money every year starting in 2027 The public schools that serve the overwhelming majority of Hoosier students will remain underfunded.  “The state budget is a blueprint of our priorities This budget supports the wealthiest among us while leaving the populations that need state support the most out to dry “I am disappointed in the lack of involvement Democrats had in this process Collaboration brings the very best ideas to the table and it is not what Hoosiers deserve.”  Will Aaron Rodgers sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers? The team seems confident that will happen, but until pen is put to paper, no deal is done. That leaves Mason Rudolph as the starting quarterback in Pittsburgh. Mike Tomlin has stated that he’s confident in Rudolph as the team’s starter but some fans might not share that sentiment “I have been told from people in the building that not only does the coaching staff buy into him, but the guys in the locker room really like Mason Rudolph,” Pryor said Wednesday on Bishop and Friends on the radio station 97.1 The Fan “I think he earned a lot of credibility with this offense the way that he finished out the 2023 season and Mason Rudolph got to be the guy to come in there and salvage the season and get them to the playoffs I do think he has a lot of cache built up in the organization.” Reports have indicated that coaches like Tomlin are fine rolling with Rudolph starting under center it’s another thing entirely to hear that players believe in Rudolph it makes sense that there would be a general confidence in Rudolph That season was a mess for the Steelers at quarterback There was hope Pickett would develop into a franchise quarterback it quickly became apparent that wouldn’t be the case Trubisky wasn’t offering much upside who had been sitting quietly as the Steelers’ third-string quarterback Pittsburgh’s playoff hopes were teetering on the ledge with three games left in the year Rudolph led the Steelers to three straight wins The Steelers would go on to lose in the first round of the playoffs, but Rudolph wasn’t the main reason for that. He played fine That was before the Steelers signed Arthur Smith There are some reasons to believe the Steelers can still be competitive with Rudolph starting for a full season it doesn’t feel like Pittsburgh’s ceiling would be very high in that scenario Could they win a playoff game with Rudolph starting but it’s doubtful they’d beat some of the powerhouses in the AFC The Eagles added a familiar face to their offensive line unit on Thursday Philadelphia announced it agreed to terms on a one-year deal with offensive lineman Matt Pryor who was drafted by the club in the sixth-round of the 2018 draft out of TCU Pryor appeared in 27 games for the Eagles before being traded to the Colts in 2022 The 6-foot-7 lineman also spent time with the 49ers in 2023 and most recently with the Bears in 2024 Pryor has played at both the tackle and guard positions throughout his career Pryor ranked eighth among all NFL guards with a pass blocking grade of 78.1 in 2024 21 ranked guard by PFF in that same season The 30-year-old allowed zero hits in 2024 and played 895 snaps at right guard and 59 snaps at right tackle It's Opening Day in the MLB and the Phillies are kicking off their season against the Washington Nationals on the road The Eagles wish them luck in the 2025 season Check out these photos of when Eagles players visited Citizens Bank Park for some batting practice with Phillies players taken by Photography Director Kiel Leggere Jordan Mailata taking some batting practice Brown throwing out the first pitch at a Phillies game Brown was a former MLB Draft pick by the San Diego Padres Here are the jersey numbers for the new veterans Chris and Michelle Britton honor the memory of their youngest son by raising thousands of dollars each year for the Eagles Autism Foundation The Britton family was chosen to represent the Foundation at the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay Jackson took part in this weekend's Rookie Minicamp on a tryout basis The cornerback becomes the fifth draft pick to sign his rookie contract the first-year players got back to football at the NovaCare Complex The Eagles kick off Rookie Camp by getting Smael Mondon Jr. and Antwaun Powell-Ryland to ink their four-year rookie deals a travel football club for boys and girls from New Jersey After adding 10 draft picks to an already strong roster the Eagles will have ample ammunition to continue to bolster the team in the 2026 NFL Draft The 6-foot-6 defensive tackle has started every game over the last two seasons for the Eagles Robinson was the last first-round linebacker picked by the team back in 1979 The organization honored the men and women who have served the country during the time in Washington with a trip to Arlington National Cemetery How did Howie Roseman execute the trade to get linebacker Jihaad Campbell Why was Andrew Mukuba such a highly sought-after target in the second round What did the Eagles want to accomplish on the final day of the 2025 NFL Draft It's all here in the post-draft episode of Unscripted Ahead of their first official practice as Philadelphia Eagles and outside linebacker Antwaun Powell-Ryland Join first-round pick Jihaad Campbell in his first 24 hours as an Eagle From the moment he gets selected to his tour of the facilities in Philadelphia every moment of Campbell's first day as an Eagle is right here for your viewing pleasure The Okaloosa County Middle School Athletic Conference recognized the spring sports winners in Golf and Track last week Destin Middle School captured the County Championship with both the Boys and the Girls golf teams Pryor Middle School won the Boys County Track and Field competition while Ruckel Middle School Girls won the Girls County Track and Field Championship Congratulations to all of our schools for completing another successful spring season Destin Middle School Boys Golf Team | 2025 MSAC County Champions Destin Middle School Girls Golf Team | 2025 MSAC County Champions Pryor Middle School Boys Track and Field Team | 2025 MSAC County Champions Ruckel Middle School Girls Track and Field Team | 2025 MSAC County Champions WC Pryor Middle School201 Racetrack Road, NWFort Walton Beach, FL 32547Phone: (850) 833-3613Fax: (850) 833-4276 We are thrilled to announce two apps to help you stay connected! After drafting Ben Roethlisberger in 2004 they enjoyed a largely successful 18-year run that included two Super Bowls They were at least competitive nearly every year and the quarterback position was never the weak link The Steelers can’t exactly say the same about their quarterbacks over the past few years In the first year after Roethlisberger retired the Steelers drafted a first-round quarterback in the form of Kenny Pickett and he is now on his third team going into Year 4 A team that just drafted not one but two quarterbacks and signed a quarterback who led them to the playoffs two years ago the Steelers drafted 21st overall with just one quarterback taken off the board in Cam Ward They could have drafted Jaxson Dart or Tyler Shough or Shedeur Sanders Or they could have traded back into the second round or done any number of things They could have even drafted Will Howard earlier but they didn’t pull the trigger until Round 6 In fact, the Steelers even doubled up on defensive linemen before finally drafting a quarterback. One has to wonder if they would have even bothered at all had Howard not been there. In recent years, they have thrown money at UDFAs to fill the depth chart Orser led the Orediggers to a 15-12 overall record during the 2012-13 season Luke Meisch and Trevor Wages earned First Team All-RMAC honors while Wages was also named Daktronics Second Team All-Region Brian Muller was named Second Team All-RMAC as well Orser was named RMAC East Division Coach of the Year after leading Mines to a 17-12 overall record (14-5 RMAC) and a share of the RMAC East Division title The Orediggers made their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament and established a new single-season program record for conference victories 1 seed in the East Division for the RMAC Shootout and hosted a Quarterfinal game at Lockridge Arena Dale Minschwaner earned First Team All-RMAC RMAC East Division Player of the Year and First Team All-East Division honors while Brett Green garnered RMAC East Division Freshman of the Year accolades Green's selection as the RMAC East Division Freshman of the Year marked the sixth time that an Oredigger has earned such recognition during Orser's tenure (Stephen Bahl Mines posted a 14-13 overall record (9-10 RMAC) in 2008-09 including Pape (Second Team All-East Division) and Minschwaner (Third Team All-East Division) Minschwaner was also selected as the 2008-09 RMAC East Division Freshman of the Year the Orediggers compiled a 15-14 overall record (8-11 RMAC) Three Orediggers earned All-RMAC recognition who was a unanimous First Team All-RMAC East Division selection Mines compiled a 14-13 overall record (8-11 RMAC) in 2006-07 as three Orediggers (Pape Ian Elseth and Franklin Ryk) earned recognition on the All-RMAC teams Orser led the Orediggers to a 15-14 overall record (9-10 RMAC) 7 seed in the RMAC Shootout and knocked off No The victory marked CSM's first post-season win since 1996 Two players earned All-RMAC recognition for CSM and Pape was named RMAC Freshman of the Year Orser led CSM to a 16-12 overall mark (10-9 RMAC) in 2004-05 and an appearance in the RMAC Shootout CSM registered a 74-71 upset victory over then top-ranked Metro State at Volk Gymnasium who was selected as the North Central Region Player of the Year First Team All-North Central Region and Third Team All-American honors It was the first time in program history that a CSM player had been named All-American Westword Newspaper named Pryor Orser's Baskeball Camps as the Best Place for Young Hoops Hotshots in its annual Best of Denver issue Orser's camps have grown each year and have attracted as many as 140 players during a single week Orser's 2002-03 team posted an 18-10 overall record (12-7 RMAC) and advanced to the RMAC Shootout for the first time since 1999 The 2002-03 squad established numerous team records a perfect 7-0 record against the RMAC West Division a #4 ranking in the North Central Region and an 11-game winning streak The 2002-03 Orediggers also achieved a #26 national ranking Four players went on to earn All-RMAC recognition who arrived on campus just two months prior to the start of the season led the Orediggers to a 5-21 overall record (3-16 RMAC) Orser spent one season as the assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Montana Orser's previous coaching experience includes a four-year stint at Northwest College (Wyoming) where he served as the head coach of the women's program and also as an assistant with the men's team Also a physical education instructor at Northwest Orser was named the 1999-00 WCCAC Women's Coach of the Year after his women's team compiled a program-record 22 victories during his fourth and final season marking a 20-game improvement from his first year at the helm In addition to spending two seasons as the assistant men's basketball coach and the assistant sports information director at Carroll College in Helena Orser served for three years as the assistant coach for the Montana State University - Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Philadelphia Eagles' 2024 Championship season From Brazil to Bourbon Street to Broad Street relive this 52-minute reflection of one of the most magical seasons in Philadelphia sports history playing in 895 snaps at right guard and 59 snaps at right tackle Pryor started 15 games at guard for the Bears in 2024 He played just 42 snaps for the 49ers offensive line in 2023 332-pound lineman described himself as someone who is willing to put his body on the line for the team "Obviously the goal would be to start as it would be anywhere else I'm going to go wherever they see for me to fit in I'm just going to do what I can for the team If it ends up being on the starting row – perfect Quarterback Terrelle Pryor lined up in shotgun formation on the first play of the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers He still remembers the play call going into the huddle as if it was yesterday and not over a decade ago 35 P means possible keep with an alert to trips right the offense was running a zone read concept Pryor's responsibilities were to read outside linebacker Lamar Woodley If the Steelers linebacker closed in on Pryor with the ball he would hand off the ball to running back Darren McFadden "I'm back there and the way that I went through there this is an easy first down right here if he gave it to me,'" McFadden recalled I was just thinking about making a routine first down and keeping the drive alive." The Raiders got on the board 7-0 with a 93-yard touchdown run from Pryor "He made a heck of a read on it and made an even better run getting down there and scoring," McFadden said Terrelle Pryor's path to the Raiders was unconventional but the dynamic quarterback holds an NFL record that remains unbroken—one that came against his hometown team As for how we got this historic play in Week 5 of the 2013 season let's rewind a few years more to late Owner Al Davis' last draft It's a physical attribute he relished when acquiring players such as Art Powell with the quarterback position not being exempt Pryor entered the 2011 NFL Supplemental Draft after three dominant seasons at Ohio State he recorded 6,177 passing yards and 2,164 rushing yards with an impressive 76 total touchdowns – passing After leading to Buckeyes to two Big Ten Championships he marveled scouts and coaches at his Pro Day "There's like 30 head coaches there at my Pro Day for the supplemental draft and the Raiders weren't there," Pryor said "There were a couple of teams there interested The supplemental [draft] is a little different they'll sit you down and ask you for the opportunity we want to take you in the second round.' But I just didn't want to be close to home." In the third round of the 2011 NFL Supplemental Draft the Oakland Raiders selected Pryor – Al Davis' last draft pick in his lifetime While Pryor was shocked considering how his pre-draft process went he wasn't surprised considering what he knew about Davis I knew he liked mobility and I knew he liked the athletic quarterbacks," Pryor said "There was a lot of receiver talk at the time and I said 'Maybe I come here and have a few good games or something like that' and I knew Mr We had some really good conversations before he passed and I knew he believed in me there was a discussion about him moving to wide receiver full-time While the Raiders were invested on developing him as a quarterback it took some time to get him adjusted within the Raiders offense he sat behind Jason Campbell and former Heisman winner Carson Palmer Former quarterback Terrelle Pryor's 93-yard run set the record for the longest run by a QB in NFL History Pryor's time to shine finally came in 2013 after beating out Matt Flynn and Tyler Wilson for the starting job He came out the gate swinging in Week 1 and rushed for 112 yards to break the franchise record for rushing yards by a quarterback in a game setting the record was a bittersweet moment as the Silver and Black still fell to the Indianapolis Colts "Having a guy like that is so electrifying the way Terrelle was," McFadden said get the ball downfield and if something breaks down there in the backfield he can scramble and make it happen with his legs "It was just always fun playing with a guy like that because you never knew what you were going to get out of him but he was definitely going to be a playmaker." While he continued to set the tone with his athletic ability The Silver and Black were 2-4 with Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the horizon we had just beat the Chargers on a Thursday night … I had a really good game and then we went in to the play against the Chiefs and I got sacked [nine] times," Pryor said and then we went into Pittsburgh and my mentality was the same as always." there were a few added emotions considering the team he was facing roughly 30 miles southeast of Three Rivers Stadium where the Steelers played from 1970 to 2000 I wanted to play well because I knew everyone in Pittsburgh were going to be watching and I wanted to play well in front of Mike Tomlin simply [because] I idolized him growing up 'I want to do some damage here.' I'm on national TV in front of a live crowd a national audience saw why Al Davis made Pryor a Raider there was one high safety and I thought for sure Lamar Woodley 'There's no way he's just going to run down after Darren," Pryor said "Then I come through running the ball and there's another idol I grew up watching I started cruising past him and then I'm like What's going on here?' And once I saw all that green I said 'There's nobody that can catch me from behind." Pryor rushed for 106 yards in the game and helped defeat the Steelers, 21-18. The 93-yard rush still stands as the longest rush by a quarterback in NFL history, a record he holds dearly. His game-worn uniform was sent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame's archives in Canton maybe it doesn't but you never know," said Pryor of the NFL milestone crazy play and something I'll remember for the rest of my life."
