Which company produces uranium fuel for U.S
Navy nuclear reactors and manages the only plant where the government disassembles atomic warheads
What about the company helping NASA to develop a nuclear rocket
all while building small modular reactors and developing a pilot plant to restart uranium enrichment for the military
It's all the same answer: BWX Technologies
the $2.7 billion juggernaut better known as BWXT has embedded itself in every kind of nuclear project imaginable with a strong and growing presence in East Tennessee
where 1,100 employees at its Nuclear Fuel Services plant in Erwin "downblend" bomb-grade uranium
The facility also creates fuel for the nuclear reactors aboard U.S
The region is even more important to BWXT after it bought a specialized facility in Jonesborough and 97 acres in Oak Ridge for a centrifuge enrichment project the company says will create hundreds of jobs through millions of dollars in investments
“We have availed ourselves as a key player in just about every interesting nuclear opportunity that you can think of,” BWXT President and CEO Rex Geveden told Knox News
BWXT is part of the team led by the Tennessee Valley Authority to build the first small modular nuclear reactors in the U.S. at the federal utility's Clinch River Nuclear Site in Oak Ridge
It will manufacture the reactor pressure vessel, the largest component of the 300-megawatt reactor designed by GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy
employs around 8,700 people at 15 major manufacturing sites in the U.S
It was created when the Babcock and Wilcox Company spun off into two separate publicly traded companies in 2015: Babcock and Wilcox Enterprises for power generation and BWXT for government and nuclear operations
Here's why the company is growing in East Tennessee and what the expansion says about the U.S
nuclear energy and national security sectors
Oak Ridge landBWXT likes to acquire companies that have "some precious capability or material," Geveden said
He visited two of these companies April 24 on a visit to East Tennessee
the sole provider of naval reactor fuel to the U.S
BWXT owns and operates the only two commercial facilities licensed by the U.S
Nuclear Regulatory Commission to handle and process highly enriched uranium
which is stockpiled at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge
The nuclear fuel plant is the largest employer in Unicoi County and narrowly avoided extensive damage from Hurricane Helene last year
Geveden also visited former defense contractor L3Harris' Aerojet Ordnance Tennessee business in Jonesborough, the sole provider of depleted uranium to the U.S. government, which BWXT bought for $100 million in January
Depleted uranium is a highly dense byproduct of uranium enrichment used in armor-piercing ammunition and tank armor
a company developing a gas-cooled small modular reactor
Next door to the test facility at the Horizon Center Industrial Park in Oak Ridge
BWXT purchased 97 acres with help from the state of Tennessee to develop a pilot centrifuge plant for the U.S
The U.S. store of highly enriched uranium for naval reactors is running low, and the National Nuclear Security Administration, the agency within the Department of Energy that handles nuclear weapons, projects it will need a new source of the fuel by the early 2050s
The agency chose BWXT to explore a pilot plant to restore a capability the U.S
BWXT could commercialize a centrifuge technology under development at Oak Ridge National Laboratory
“If you were building a nuclear company from scratch
you might build BWXT because we have this tremendous base business with the nuclear Navy,” Geveden said
“We're utterly crucial to the nuclear national security apparatus.”
BWXT is involved in nuclear weapons activities
The National Nuclear Security Administration awarded a management contract for its Pantex plant in Texas
where it disassembles warheads and makes nuclear explosives
to a BWXT-led venture called PanTeXas Deterrence last year
The contract could last 20 years at a value of $30 billion
Pantex and Y-12 were jointly managed by Consolidated Nuclear Security until last year, when Y-12 split off to focus on its growing workload of weapons modernization projects
Babcock and Wilcox managed Y-12 through a venture with engineering and construction firm Bechtel called B&W Y-12 from 2000 to 2014
BWXT has contracts to supply reactor parts to multiple developers of small modular reactors
including GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy and TerraPower
but is not pursuing its own reactor design today
The company began developing a small modular reactor called the mPower reactor in 2009. It planned to build the reactor at TVA's Clinch River Nuclear Site in partnership with Bechtel but pulled the plug on the project in 2017 after failing to secure enough funding
“We were certainly pursuing our own small modular reactor back in the day
because the market just hadn't materialized at that time,” Geveden said
What's changed now? For one thing, the chill from the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan has worn off
The global environmental movement has widely embraced nuclear energy as a path toward a carbon-free electrical grid
Around 61% of Americans support nuclear energy as a source of electricity, just one point shy of the 2010 record, according to a recent Gallup report
Advocates of nuclear energy say it can be a 24/7 foundation when solar and wind farms aren't producing power
“I think the world came around to the view that you can’t construct a grid ideologically
or you’re gonna have constant brownouts and blackouts,” Geveden said
Tennessee is among a handful of states – along with Texas, Virginia and Wyoming – vying for national leadership in new nuclear energy. Gov. Bill Lee invested more than $92 million for nuclear projects in his latest budget
including $50 million for TVA's Clinch River project
The fund's latest recipient is BWXT to support the company's land acquisition in Oak Ridge with an eye to restoring America's ability to enrich uranium for defense purposes
“Tennessee is kind of right in the center of the nuclear universe,” Geveden said

Coal Ridge High School senior Brilee Jensen will officially become a Colorado Mesa University Maverick after graduation
committing to the track and field team during a signing ceremony in the school gym on April 23
Jensen reflected on her journey from a first-time track athlete as a freshman to a state champion thrower with college-level aspirations
“I am really going to miss all my teammates,” Jensen said
“I loved getting to know them throughout the years and moving from one sport to another with them since middle school
Although I will miss all the girls and their silly nicknames
I am excited for a new start — getting to know new people
facing new challenges and hopefully expanding my throwing events at the college level.”
Jensen said Colorado Mesa University appealed to her not only for its successful athletics program but also for its nursing program
welcoming campus atmosphere and proximity to family
She originally joined the track team just to stay active in the spring but quickly found a supportive environment that sparked a passion for throwing
“I showed up to practice for a few weeks and really loved the community around me,” she said
“They all want me to become the best person I can be and keep me challenged at the same time.”
Although hesitant at first about her sprinting ability
Jensen quickly found her strength in the shot put and discus
“I love both shot and disc in different ways,” she said
“I love the disc because it makes me feel fast and explosive
and I love the shot because it makes me feel strong and joyful
but I feel the most accomplished with shot.”
That sense of accomplishment culminated in 2023
when she won the Class 3A state title in shot put with a throw of 38 feet
finishing her senior season with a personal best of 40-1.5 in shot put and 115-9 in discus
“I feel like my personal realization of success came when I won state as a sophomore,” Jensen said
“I love the competition and seeing myself improve little by little each week
Every week is a chance to see all the work I’ve been putting in come together.”
Jensen said her motivation is rooted in growth — through both wins and losses
“I personally love feeling all the pain on the bad days,” she said
“I know the result will be great one day
It feels amazing seeing all your training come together and showing everyone what you’ve been training for
but everyone will see the good days and how it came to be.”
Though known for her strength in the throwing ring
running the 100-meter dash in 14.42 seconds
“Coach Kirk thinks I’m a competitive sprinter,” she said
“But the running events have never been my forte.”
Before trading her Titans blue for CMU maroon
Jensen will compete one last time for Coal Ridge at the 2025 CHSAA Class 3A State Championship on Thursday
“I have felt so comforted within my own community,” she said
many people have come up to me with hugs and kind words
this community will always be here supporting me through it all.”
but also to my family and friends for everything they do,” she added
I don’t know where I would be today.”

The VADOC said the following in a release Friday:
“The Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) is currently investigating the apparently premeditated stabbing of three Corrections Officers at Wallens Ridge State Prison.
The attack occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 2. Five of the six inmates involved in the attack are confirmed MS-13 gang members from El Salvador, who were in this country illegally. Each have been convicted of violent crimes including aggravated murder, first and second degree murder, and rape. The other inmate involved in the attack is a confirmed member of the Sureño 13 gang and from the United States, serving a sentence for second degree murder.
Five officers were transported for outside medical treatment. Three officers, including two who suffered minor injuries while responding to the attack, have been discharged. Two officers have been admitted to the hospital and are in stable condition.
“Five of the individuals responsible for this senseless attack should never have been in this country in the first place,” said VADOC Director Chad Dotson. “Every single day, our officers put their lives on the line to ensure public safety for the more than 8.8 million people across the Commonwealth. This attack is an example of the dangers they face when they show up to work every day. Our officers are heroes, and I commend the team at Wallens Ridge for their swift response.”
The attack is currently under investigation, and no further response will be provided until the investigation is complete."
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin also released the following statement on social media Saturday afternoon regarding the incident, saying in part:
“Praying for the full recovery of the three Virginia correctional officers brutally stabbed today in a premeditated attack by MS-13 gang members, criminal illegal immigrants who should never have been in our country to begin with.Virginia will always stand with the brave men and women who protect and serve our Commonwealth.”
The incident remains under investigation.

READ MORENew landslide activity observed on Rattlesnake Ridgeby John Kennedy O'Connor
UNION GAP – The Yakima Valley Office of Emergency Management has an update on the ongoing monitoring of the landslide on Rattlesnake Ridge
While there is no immediate threat to Interstate 82
recent observations indicate new landslide activity on the west flank of the existing slide area
it was observed that a debris slide measuring 400 feet tall and 300 feet wide blocked a portion of the closed section of Thorp Road
The larger landslide on the top of the hill has been crushing the rock into smaller pieces
which have been slowly sliding and rolling downhill to the base
Subsequent inspection by county and WSDOT engineers this week have determined the following:

A restaurant at The Mall at Greece Ridge with deep roots and a loyal following will close for good on May 15
Jim’s at The Mall is within the footprint of a forthcoming 175,000-square-foot Boscov’s department store
Restaurant owner Elena Knapp declined to comment on the situation
she did post a handwritten sign apologizing to customers who were under the impression that Jim’s would relocate to another space in the mall after Boscov’s construction began
mall owner Wilmorite promised to facilitate a move but later decided the business would close
“This restaurant has become a family to me
and it pains me to say goodbye,” she wrote
a longtime customer has launched a change.org campaign titled Save Jim’s at The Mall
also asserting that Wilmorite took the option to move off the table
the petition has more than 1,500 signatures
on Thursday Wilmorite issued a statement: “Jim’s at the Mall is a wonderful restaurant and its presence at Greece Ridge will be sorely missed
It’s unfortunate we were unable to come to terms on a new deal for another location
The door will remain open for Jim’s at the Mall to return to Greece Ridge
as we too are a Rochester based family run business and appreciate their partnership over the years.”
Wilmorite released what it called an updated statement: “We have offered Jim’s at the Mall viable options to relocate
they expressly stated that they desired a large monetary buyout
Under their lease we have the right to move them
and they were notified months ago but have resisted any form of compromise
They are using the community and media as leverage.”
Knapp did not reach out to the Democrat and Chronicle
Jim’s at The Mall originally was Critic’s on The Mall
George Criticos opened it in the old Greece Towne Mall when it debuted in 1967
(Greece Towne Mall and Long Ridge Mall were linked in 1994 to become The Mall at Greece Ridge.)
Knapp bought Critic’s on The Mall in 2016 and renamed it Jim’s at The Mall
That beloved establishment was demolished in 2015 to make way for an ALDI grocery store that wound up being built at a different Winton Road location

most of her fondest memories took place inside the doors at Jim's
"I came here with my great grandma when I was a kid
and she's passed away," Michael said
"It's just always been a place we've gone to after church on Sundays
after my daughter's preschool graduation
I dated my husband here and got their deep-fried ice cream
"It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Jim's At The Mall will not be relocating
Michael was eating breakfast at Jim's Wednesday when she heard the news and sprung into action
we have to stand by them and support them,'" Michael explained
"It's crazy to see how it took off."
and it's been so sweet to see all of their comments just telling their stories," Michael said
A mall spokesperson shared a statement with 13WHAM
Mall owner Wilmorite announced in March that Pennsylvania-based department store Boscov's will be moving into a space near Entrance 6
Jim's does have another location on Main Street in Rochester
Michael hopes the petition will either help Jim's at the Mall relocate or delay the closure
at least we're showing Elena and the staff there that's losing their jobs in two weeks that the community cares."

Sead Miljkovic of East Ridge removed his glasses
dried his tears and wiped his forehead in apparent relief as a judge announced Friday he was not responsible for torturing two men during the Bosnian War
Jurors deliberated for about two hours at the Chattanooga federal courthouse before reaching a unanimous verdict Friday that Miljkovic was not guilty of two counts of torture
His wife gasped from the audience and broke out into sobs
Defense attorney Logan Davis hugged Miljkovic while defense attorney Bryan Hoss high-fived a few people sitting in the front row
Miljkovic was accused of beating two unarmed prisoners of war
The majority of the trial was conducted through translators because most of the witnesses were from Bosnia or Bosnian was their first language
The United States fronted the bill for flights and accommodations
and some witnesses were in a nearby hotel for over nine days
Pehlic and Nuhanovic were among the witnesses who traveled over 5,000 miles to testify against Miljkovic
(READ MORE: Hamilton County program for teachers of color questioned)
Hoss argued during closing statements that people know torture when they see it
and Miljkovic's alleged actions didn't constitute torture
Pehlic and Nuhanovic were captured army men
and this was not a case of two men who were serving a DUI sentence when they were allegedly beat by a guard
The country of Bosnia declared independence in March 1992 from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
A war broke out between Bosnians who supported their central government and a group of opposing Bosnian Muslims who established their own self-proclaimed government group

The headquarters of the self-proclaimed province was Velika Kladusa
Miljkovic became part of the Autonomous Province of Western Bosnia's army
He was eventually stationed as a guard at a reconstructed castle
Pehlic and Nuhanovic were both captured during the war and brought to the castle to perform forced labor, according to their testimony.
Federal prosecutors argued during closing statements they were beaten
One of the witnesses started to cry and couldn't speak briefly during the trial when prosecutors showed him a photograph of the castle
Nuhanovic pointed to Miljkovic at one point and identified him to jurors as the man who allegedly beat him
"I would never forget the face of the man who was beating me," he said
Pehlić allegedly was beaten with a rubber baton
his head forcefully pushed down toward a bayonet in order to make him believe his throat would be impaled
Nuhanović was allegedly beaten with bats and sticks and forced to fight other prisoners
(READ MORE: Hamilton County leaders talk plans for attorney transition)
When federal agents searched Miljkovic's home
they found a framed photo of Old Fort where he served as a prison guard
the defendant has been proudly displaying the crime scene where he tortured prisoners of war," prosecutor Elizabeth Nielsen previously said
But Hoss said it didn't make him sadistic because he had a picture of the place that was his hometown
He pointed to the fact that both witnesses waited decades to bring allegations against Miljkovic
and both of their stories changed repeatedly over the years
He said that Nuhanovic was visibly angry on the stand when he was questioned about lying
Miljkovic has never returned to Bosnia since he immigrated to the United States
He came to America using the name Sead Dukic and has lived in East Ridge for over 20 years
He is charged with three counts of passport fraud in connection with the alleged fake name
Miljković is nearing the end of negotiations on a plea deal for those charges

It feels like you have to break the bank in order to play golf nowadays
Couple that with the fact that tee times are seemingly impossible to come by unless you book well in advance
I wouldn’t blame you if you decided not to pick it up as a hobby
Though golf is my personal favorite hobby or activity
So I like to highlight the places in New Jersey where I have played in case anyone out there is looking for some good spots to play
Whatever it is that you’re looking for in a golf round
I played an early Sunday morning round (6:30 a.m.) at Gambler Ridge
You can find them at 121 Burlington Path Road in Cream Ridge
It’s a very off-the-beaten-path part of New Jersey
The rolling hills and tree-lined fairways provide some pretty scenery throughout your round
The greens had recently been aerated when I played
It cost me $59 to play a weekend morning round
which in today’s golf climate is pretty cheap
It’s not quite in the condition of some of the other courses I’ve played this year
but the course was bought this year by Tom and Megan Collard
who have already made new additions to the course
They’ve taken down some trees that used to overhang fairways
and they also added reflectors in the flagsticks so you can easily use a rangefinder to gauge distances
I have no doubt you’re going to love your round here if you play
It’s an affordable course with a fun layout to navigate through
The post above reflects the thoughts and observations of New Jersey 101.5's Kyle Clark

(LEX 18) — Mill Ridge Farm in Lexington has established itself as one of the premier thoroughbred operations in the country
and selling elite racehorses that have gone on to win at the highest levels of the sport
but it's also really like dreamy," said Bell
The 900-acre farm has developed a reputation for excellence
producing 39 Grade One winners since 2000 – an impressive achievement in an industry where the odds of success are remarkably slim
it has less than a one percent chance of winning a Grade One race," said Bell
notes that their success rate of around three percent is exceptional in the thoroughbred industry
I like to joke that if you want to play in the NBA then you go play basketball at the University of Kentucky for Coach Pope
you start your day at Mill Ridge," said Bell
The farm has raised champions like Seize the Grey
These successes have cemented Mill Ridge's status as a premier thoroughbred operation
"The dreams of what they are today and what they will become is what fills one's mind while on the farm," said Bell
who grew up in Lexington on his family's farm
"It's been a totally magical experience certainly since that time," said Bell
Mill Ridge Farm has become a destination for horse enthusiasts
welcoming 60 to 70 visitors on average during the busy season from March through November
When asked about his favorite part of being on the farm
Bell's answer was simple: "I love sharing it with people."
The farm prides itself on creating connections between people and horses
sometimes leading to powerful emotional experiences
"To stand with someone and help encourage them to feed a mare a carrot and to watch them overcome that fear
I've had a number of people crying overcoming that fear," said Bell
This commitment to accessibility and education is central to Mill Ridge's mission
"Mill Ridge is all about the horse and if you're curious about the horse or want to learn more want to get involved that Mill Ridge is a place that welcomes you," said Bell
As the farm continues its legacy of breeding champions
Bell hopes to inspire a broader connection to the thoroughbred industry
"We hope that through our generation that more people feel like it's part of their story too," said Bell

Update [Thu 1st May, 2025 09:30 BST]: In an announcement on the Arcade Archives website
Hamster Corp has revealed that its upcoming reissue of Ridge Racer on the Nintendo Switch 2 won't be exclusive to the new Nintendo console after all
with these versions of the game expected to land on the PlayStation store
on June 5th (the same date as the Switch 2 release)
no announcement has been made for Xbox machines
Original Article [Wed 2nd Apr, 2025 15:35 BST]: In today's Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Namco's iconic arcade racing game Ridge Racer will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2
It will be available when the Nintendo Switch 2 launches later this year on June 5th
The news was shared during a rapid-fire section of the 1-hour broadcast focusing on games from various third-party developers and will be the first time a Ridge Racer game has appeared on a Nintendo console since 2011's Ridge Racer 3D
Ridge Racer was developed for the Namco System 22 arcade board and was later ported to the PlayStation as a launch title for the system
playing an integral role in establishing Sony during the 32-bit era
If previous Arcade Archives 2 announcements are anything to go by
this new version will come with a few additional bells & whistles
But none of these features have been revealed as of yet
due to the announcement coming during a Nintendo event
no news was shared about versions for other platforms
so we'll likely have to keep our eyes peeled on Hamster Corp's social media or on tomorrow's live stream to see whether the game is definitely confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
27 Bandai Namco IPs are currently listed on a newly launched webpage
The rerelease adds a new time attack mode and online matches

Jack has a particular fondness for point-and-click adventure games
he’s written about lost games from studios like Sony Manchester
and has made a habit of debunking video game rumours
I've been waiting for this for so damn long
I was just saying the other day that it's weird that OG Ridge Racer (or even the PS1 port) isn't available on modern systems
@N00BiSH You can get R4 on PS5 — the pixelation is a bit smeary but it still plays great
FINALLY 😂 The arcade game that cost me SO MUCH in my college years
I hope this means more 3D arcade games in general
They should’ve hired Kaz for the presentation to announce that one
@rjc-32 I'd like to see Tekken 1 and 3 made available in some capacity
@alexybubble I actually freaked out the most in the entire stream from this announcement lol
Though it seems they will come with a price tag as part of the Archives 2 lineup
Though that also means platinum trophies on Playstation
Glad Ridge Racer is seeing some light again though
Would love to see Daytona USA/Sega Racing 1 and 2 on the Switch 2
This is massive and shattering news though
the two franchises that have had the most launch titles are Tony Hawk
Ridge Racer will now be the most launch titles at 9 games
"...the first time a Ridge Racer game has appeared on a Nintendo console since 2011's Ridge Racer 3D"
What about Ridge Racer 64 added to Nintendo Switch Online at the end of this past January
there is the question of how new a game we can expect
Ridge Racer is a racing game series known to exist only at launch and nothing else afterwards
@Andee (whiny child voice) but I don't wanna buy a PS5
Hope this also comes to other platforms...
I spent so much time with Ridge Racer on my original Playstation back in high school that I'm truly excited for this release
this is more of a reason for me to buy a Switch 2 than anything else they announced
😂 Hopefully we’ll get Ridge Racer 1 (just for comparison) and also Rave Racer
@DiceRobo Wow
Any idea which systems launched with a Ridge Racer
@N00BiSH Amen to that
Hopefully this means they are actually moving on from all the 80's arcade games and finally focus on delivering some 90's arcade games with 3D graphics
A massive step forward too - glad to see Arcade Racers are FINALLY on the Arcade Archives menu
I'm just amazed that Arcade Archives is starting to tap into more modern arcade games now
That amazes me at the possibilities that could be next
probably cheaper to get a PCB with how much price gouging is going on out the box
can't fathom how there has not been some sort of ridge racer collection for playstation yet....
@MysticWangForce Yeah
same — it was such a formative series for the original PlayStation (wasn't it a pack-in game for a long time?)
I'd love to see a WipEout trilogy remaster (in the vein of Crash/Spyro) at some point as well (although I imagine music/licensing would make a tough ask)
been waiting for this for years - 32 of them
the only way this could have been better news is if it had been a compilation wirh Ridge Racer 2
@N00BiSH These are strictly the arcade ports dude
@Guru_Larry yeah
I realized that a bit later after writing that comment
@N00BiSH Lol
imported it before it was even released here back in the day
You should try playing it on the Duckstation emulator
Hamster are the only other converters I trust besides M2
but as long as it comes with the same lame no platinum trophies of the standard Arcade Archives games it's a Switch 2 purchase for me
@JayJ
Both?Still a LOT of 2D goodness to be converted
@Moroboshi876 I don't know anything much about these releases
so am I understanding correctly that they do have trophy support
the nostalgia I have for the game hasn't waned since I played it back on the PS1 and I love everything about it - the look
gameplay all held up for me better than any of the other games
I could be in the minority but this is my favourite Ridge Racer
Ridge Racer 2 and RR Revolution I enjoy as well
but after that I wasn't as interested with Type 4
A bundle of all the classic games with all the bells and whistles would be awesome
@Ellie-Moo They have very few and basic trophies (and achievements when they're Neo Geo releases and then Xbox also receives them)
so it's not worth it for the trophies/achievements alone
so I buy them on Switch for the portability
Shame it's not bundled with RR2 or maybe it is
Either way for a few quid I'd be happy to buy it
If namco pulled there finger out they could do a whole collection like...
@Moroboshi876 I'm such a big fan I'll get it on PS5 and Switch I think
I'm quite proud that in my younger days I beat the Devil car in this game and the Angel car in RRR
I'm relieved its coming to Playstation
The Switch 2 still doesn't have analogue triggers
so it will be a seriously hampered version of this game
just wait for Rave racer as it got this circuits and 3 more !!
1994/1995 Arcade/PS1 Ridge Racer 'nostalgia' aside
i highly doubt I'll be playing this for more than 20 minutes on Switch 2 when I do
Especially when you've got Mario Kart world at your disposal
RR during the launch of PS1 back in 95 was fanfrikkintastic
It made Daytona on Sega Saturn look dated & absolutely rough around the edges
It was such a great companion piece to Battle Arena Toshinden
Then Jumping Flash!(Revolutionary) & Twisted Metal debuted shortly after around the launch window
@NeonPizza Mmm yeah well I live in hope for a PSX version release as well
It also had the extra cars to beat which I never managed to do when I was younger
That tech demo they released with with Type 4 of the original Ridge Racer track running at 60fps was so good - shame they haven't seen fit to re-release it as the full playable game
I'm just going to be super happy to have arcade Ridge Racer on my machine and presumably moving forwards will be able to play it on future systems
but I absolutely love it and for me it's so iconic
I think it was Edge magazine #6 that had an image from it on the front cover and me and my mates all thought it was a real life photo it looked so good at the time
So many memories - and then yeah the PSX release was epic and completely pooh-poohed on Saturn Daytona from a great height
Speaking of which - my copy of Daytona is annoyingly platform locked to my PS3 - come on SEGA
put all your arcade classics out there on current systems
@bring_on_branstons Oooops
I am not used to Arcade Archives releases and was thinking of the PS1 release and features rather than that of the arcade version
I didn't realise there were any real differences except for the loading game
That's a shame and with it being an arcade release
I assume even on Playstation consoles it can't come with the PS1 specific changes/additions
@Ellie-Moo Just doesn't feel right playing Ridge Racer without the additional Namco Bill board animations and 3rd person mode
But i also don't want to go back to the PS1 versions 30fps
Looking forward to RR2 whenever that happens
i wish the Arcade versions for both would get a Quest 3 release
Playing those in VR with a steering wheel would breath life into both titles and make them that much more enjoyable and immersive
@NeonPizza Interestingly
I play with a third-person camera for almost all racing games
yet I never did for Ridge Racer as it's the only way I have ever known to play it using the 'bonnet cam'
It's disappointing to think that I won't be racing the Devil car (13th Racing) in Time Trial
Content was never RR's strong point but now it'll be even more bare I think
but I'll take what I can get for the original RR games on newer systems
@NeonPizza Was Ridge Racer 2 basically Ridge Racer Revolution (or the other way around) but again probably with less content than the PS1 game
Hold on there, you need to login to post a comment..

Even something like my Honda Ridgeline is nearing $50,000
and there are those who wouldn't even consider it a truck
And that's largely because full-size and heavy-duty trucks cost so freakin' much to buy
a four- to six-person UTV that's as capable as your 1995 Ford Ranger
and won't put you in the poor house if you throw a full grown elk into the back of it
At least that's my thoughts after thoroughly putting it through its paces at the Ranch at Rock Creek in Montana last month
when the temperatures kept fluctuating between bitter cold to whiteout conditions
and turn up the heat felt like a godsend to those who have to go into the elements day in and day out
Full stop, if I were working outside every day, I wouldn't have purchased my Can-Am Maverick X3 Max
but instead something with a freakin' enclosed cab
