Rhea Ripley can’t wait for WWE Crown Jewel
On May 2, it was announced that WWE will return to Australia for shows on October 10
and Crown Jewel: Perth all take place at the RAC Arena
and then Raw on October 13 before the company heads back to the United States
This will mark the first time Crown Jewel has ever been held outside of Saudi Arabia since it was created in 2018
WWE was last in Australia in February 2024 when the company packed more than 50,000 fans into Optus Stadium for Elimination Chamber
During an appearance on Australia’s Today show
Rhea Ripley and Grayson Waller discussed WWE’s upcoming return to the land down under
Ripley said that while Elimination Chamber was an incredible experience
adding Raw and SmackDown to the tour makes things that bit more special
especially with something as prestigious as WWE
it was the first time that I got to wrestle on Australian soil in seven years
So I’m glad that we can now not only bring another PLE with Crown Jewel Perth
and all the other superstars can experience Australia
and it gets more eyes on Australia and WWE in general
So it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Rhea Ripley is thrilled that WWE is heading back to Australia
On May 2, WWE revealed that the Crown Jewel PLE will be held in Perth, Australia, on October 11 with Frdiat Night SmackDown and Monday Night Raw on either side. This is the second PLE to take place down under after Elimination Chamber in 2024
and the first time Crown Jewel has taken place outside Saudi Arabia
Crown Jewel has exclusively been hosted in Saudi Arabia
making the announcement a significant milestone for Australia
To promote the show, Ripley and Grayson Waller flew back to their home country and appeared on The Today Show. During the appearance
Ripley stated that the company’s return to Australia was “extremely special”

Rhea Ripley is one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling, but her journey to the top hasn’t been without adversity. In a recent interview, the former Women’s Champion opened up about the early struggles in her career, including a point where she nearly walked away from wrestling altogether.

Of course the AEW wrestler knows he’d be crazy not to jump at a chance to do something with one of the biggest stars in the business today
but has a couple reasons being apart professionally works better for their relationship
so they’ve never worked together as a couple
An answer from Matthews recent interview with Chris Van Vliet may shed some light on why he re-signed with AEW rather than explore a return to WWE
Buddy admitted to Van Vliet that working a different schedule than his wife can be “a bit of a pain in the ass”
“But the good thing about her in WWE and me and AEW and us both being in the business is that I would never want
and if I’m lowered — let’s just say I’m doing enhancement matches or whatever — I don’t want to be like
and I get this and then kind of resent her for the position
but I wouldn’t even want that to be an option
I want her to be able to vent to me without me going
but this is how you play that game.’ I can kind of be that in the back seat
“That was definitely something I thought about at the start
I don’t think there would be anyone from any wrestling company or any part of the world that wouldn’t want to be doing something with Rhea Ripley
Some might say Matthews should just be happy for Ripley’s success regardless of where he works
but I’d say it’s actually very emotionally mature to acknowledge how their being in different positions on the card could impact the relationship
When CVV asked if they make the challenge of being on conflicting schedules work
But she’s also — I get kind of emotional talking about it — I’ve married my best friend
There isn’t anyone that I’d want to spend any more time with
As long as I have her I could be the clown too

Anyone who closely follows the WWE knows that Rhea Ripley can look menacing and beautiful at the same time
There's something special when "Mami" makes her entrance on WWE shows
slamming her left foot down as an exclamation point
She headed over to her Instagram account on Monday
The WWE Australia account on Instagram also shared her photos
She and fellow WWE wrestler Grayson Waller have been doing media promotion for an upcoming WWE PLE (Premier Live Event) titled Crown Jewel: Perth
Both Ripley and Waller are native Australians
so sending them back home to perk up their fans' interest down under makes a lot of sense
Crown Jewel: Perth is set to take place on October 11 at RAC Arena
WWE also will take advantage of the arena for episodes of Friday Night SmackDown and Monday Night Raw
Fans will expect to see Ripley and Waller make appearances while these events take place
Look for Ripley to get plenty of applause and screams of support from them

Rhea Ripley reflects on this title bout as one of her favorite matches
A few weeks ago at WrestleMania 41, Rhea Ripley faced off against Bianca Belair and Iyo Sky for the women’s championship
Iyo Sky came out victorious in the triple threat bout as all three women showcased one of the best WrestleMania matches of all time
During an interview with The Amin Show promoting WWE’s upcoming Crown Jewel PLE in Australia later this year
Rhea Ripley opened up on her WrestleMania 41 title bout and named it as one of her favorite matches
she claimed that her history with her Sky and Belair helped them put forward such a stellar match
it’s wild to hear that come from CM Punk
I knew that us three would go out there and absolutely kill it
it’s a nice feeling that they think the same
and we’re three of the best in the women’s division
we’re gonna go absolutely balls to the wall
“It’s been put over as a five-star match for a reason
and it’s probably one of my favorite matches now as well
so you couldn’t really expect anything else.”
H/t Fightful
The match was highly praised and even received a five-star rating from wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer
Recently, during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin named his favorite matches from WrestleMania 41
Austin also included two other high-profile matches from the PLE in his list
“That was one of my favorite matches of the entire two days
About 30 minutes before (seeing IYO backstage)
I saw Bianca Belair and I told her the same
Those three women are badasses to begin with

President and CEO of Margaret Mary Health; Mary McCarty
Executive Director of Southeastern Indiana Regional Planning Commission; Dr
Vice President for Academic Affairs and Associate Provost at Ivy Tech Community College; and Kim Ryan

The invaluable role of mentors and sponsors – those who recognize a woman’s potential even when she may not see it herself – was also a key point of discussion
The true testament to the impact of the Women’s Giving Circle lies in the tangible results it produces
Thanks to the dedication and generosity of its 179 members

2025WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley is ready to reclaim the throne at WrestleMania 41's Women's World Championship this weekend — but first
she had to show her competition who exactly they're about to face off
The 28-year-old wrestling personality showed up and showed out on Instagram earlier this week
posting a mirror selfie rocking a black bikini
Mami flaunted her toned figure in the snap
The tiny two-piece — made up of a string halter top and low-cut bottoms — not only left room to show off some serious skin
it also put all of Ripley's body art on full display
The black ink tattoos snaked their way around her body
The way Ripley — who opted to go makeup-free for the shot — positioned her body also gave fans a peek at her backside ink
"I just fell to my knees at best buy," one person quipped in the comments section of the post
"HOW AM I STARING AT THIS FOR FREE?" another asked in all-caps
like many of the messages the two-time Women's World Champion received
"LAWD HAVE MERCY 🔥MY QUEEN," a third person gushed
"Stop trying to kill us with your body
PLEASE❤️❤️❤️," they wrote
Many followers commented that the photo was so hot
Ripley (real name: Demi Bennett) was just breaking the internet at this point
"RHEA BREAKING THE INTERNET ONCE AGAIN 😈🔥," one person said
MAMI BROKE THE INTERNET AGAIN!'" another penned
"Internet broken 👀," a third fan wrote
"Just choked 🤤," quipped another user
😍😍😍😍😍," they questioned
fans just want to see Ripley take home the crown — she faces off against Iyo Sky and Bianca Belair on Sunday

Camp Ripley is looking to ramp up training
with April through June being its busiest months
The 2025 Camp Ripley community brief was presented Monday
Fink gives the annual report to area governmental bodies that serve as Camp Ripley’s neighbors living near the 53,000-acre military facility
Communicating the importance of the training area for military readiness
the local jobs and payroll flowing in area communities
and the environmental efforts are part of maintaining support for a facility that at times produces noise
Camp Ripley’s economic impact on Little Falls
the surrounding area and the state is around $83 million
They employ around 800 to 1,000 state and federal employees
Fink said he looked forward to communicating with city leaders
talking to them about what is going on at Camp Ripley and providing that transparency across the board
“We basically have the capability of performing many different trainings,” Fink said
we can probably train on it at Camp Ripley,” Fink said
“Some of our accomplishments in 2024 … Camp Ripley was the third highest (in the U.S.) in terms of throughput of soldiers coming through training
was beaten only by the two-level one training centers.”
Fink said Camp Ripley is a level two training center with level one being the highest
A level one training center is able to stage troops for deployment
Fink said the camp is currently working on a new access point to the facility
though they will keep the historic wall in front of the camp
The new military museum outside the camp is continuing to move forward
with an expected opening in the fall of 2026
The camp remains busy with the training of reserve soldiers at the facility along with partners with the Marines
They also host the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
the snow plow academy and the Minnesota Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management
April through June will have an uptick in training and noise
May around 11,800 and June will have around 14,400
Those in the surrounding area can expect to see plenty of aviation and hear plenty of artillery during that time
Though they may not have as many troops in the other months
training can still be expected at Camp Ripley throughout the year
Fink noted there are also a lot of resources for soldiers with investments in quality of life
counseling and efforts to assist with mental health
substance abuse and suicide awareness and he also wanted community members to know those resources are there for those serving and for veterans
Residents can also expect to see smoke from Camp Ripley from March through June as controlled burns are planned for 14,690 acres if they can get that in between the snow melt and green up
Fink also cautioned if anyone sees something that looks like unexploded munitions
don’t pick it up but call 911 and they will take care of it

Rhea Ripley, the current Women's World Champion in WWE, recently made a surprising revelation about the individuals who inspired her journey into professional wrestling. Appearing on Kevin Hart's popular show Cold As Balls
Ripley had a wide-ranging conversation covering her on-screen partnership with Dominik Mysterio
her history as both a teammate and rival of Liv Morgan
the topic shifted to the wrestlers who served as key inspirations for "The Eradicator." While it might be expected for a powerhouse like Ripley to name other physically dominant figures
her choices revealed a more nuanced appreciation for different aspects of the wrestling business
as a significant influence from her formative years as a fan
three main ones growing up.It was Triple H
and now he's literally running it," Ripley stated
acknowledging the surreal nature of now working under someone she once admired from afar
His in-ring prowess and commanding presence undoubtedly left a lasting impression on the young Ripley
Ripley then revealed a name that might surprise many: The Miz
Despite possessing a starkly different on-screen persona compared to the cocky and often cowardly "A-Lister," Ripley expressed genuine admiration for the former WWE Champion
I don't know if it was like his cocky demeanor
highlighting The Miz's commitment and comfort in portraying a heel character
This reveals Ripley's appreciation for the entertainment aspect of wrestling and the skill involved in effectively drawing negative reactions from the audience
More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation
Rounding out her trio of inspirations was another name familiar to those who followed independent wrestling before his initial WWE success: CM Punk
It's so wild to like have him there," Ripley added
expressing her excitement about sharing the locker room with someone she clearly looked up to

Toronto Public Health is warning the public of a potential measles exposure at Ripley’s Aquarium on Easter Monday
Anybody who visited the tourist attraction on April 21 between 1 and 7 p.m. is at risk of the highly contagious disease, officials said in a release on Friday
Measles spreads easily and can stay on surfaces for two hours
It spreads though the air when somebody infected breathes
The exposure comes amid a recent province-wide uptick of the disease. Ontario saw 223 new infections just last week.
Symptoms could include a fever, runny nose, cough, red eyes, a red rash that begins on the face and spreads down the body. Small blue-white spots are also possible around the inside of your mouth and throat the inside of the mouth and throat.
Ripley’s Aquarium told the Star that public health officials warned them Thursday about an attendee “with a reported case of measles, who recently visited the city.”
“Our building is regularly sanitized throughout the day. In addition, our state-of-the-art HVAC systems provide the highest level of air quality for our entire building,” the tourist attraction said.
Toronto Public Health has confirmed three lab confirmed cases this year.
They are advising anybody who is worried that they may have contacted the virus to check their vaccination records and monitor for symptoms.
“Measles is highly transmissible,” said Eleanor Fish, a professor of immunology at the University of Toronto. Unvaccinated visitors who were exposed to the virus that day are at risk of infection, she added.
“The concern would surround unvaccinated young individuals as well as immunocompromised and elderly individuals,” Fish said.
Measles vaccination is close to 100 per cent protective with a “high safety profile,” she said.
“We should not be seeing hospitalizations, any deaths or long-term effects from measles infection,” Fish continued. “These are all avoidable with vaccination.”

Today's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw (April 28, 2025) emanates out of the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri and will air starting at 8 p.m. EST on Netflix.
This post will be updated frequently throughout the program (for however long the show goes on). As Raw goes on, keep refreshing this post to get the most up-to-date information on all the match winners, breakdowns of the promo segments, and anything else noteworthy or interesting that takes place.
On tap for tonight's episode, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce won't be there to hold down the fort. Instead, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis will be stepping in. However, Pearce announced on social media some of the lineup, mostly revolving around promos. This is to be expected, as WWE is starting a new season of storylines following WrestleMania 41.
Logan Paul is set to make an appearance. His feud with AJ Styles will either continue, or he'll just be there to move on to someone else while Styles has his issues with Karrion Kross.
Pat McAfee is going to talk about how Gunther went after himself and Michael Cole last week, leading to The Ring General's suspension.
Becky Lynch will cut a promo about her heel turn and explain why she attacked Lyra Valkyria after they lost the Women's Tag Team Championship last week.
Lastly on the promo side of the announcements, we'll hear from Paul Heyman's faction of Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. Hopefully, we'll get a team name, and there's always a chance someone new is recruited to this new Dangerous Alliance or whatever they call themselves.
The one and only match announced in advance is Rhea Ripley against Roxanne Perez. This came about as a result of Perez and Giulia attacking Iyo Sky and Stephanie Vaquer until Ripley made the save. Expect to see all of those parties involved, or at least Giulia, though even if Vaquer isn't in the house, Sky should at least be. This could very well turn into a tag team match with Ripley and Sky against Perez and Giulia either tonight or for it to be set up for next week.

Ripley Johnson is a triple threat: guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. He’s the man behind the psychedelic stylings of the bands Wooden Shjips and Moon Duo
Now, Johnson’s explorations have led him to form his newest group out of Portland, Oregon: Rose City Band
The music is influenced by Johnson’s love of albums from the 1970s
Think Neil Young with reverberating echoes of the Grateful Dead and Gram Parsons
Johnson sat down with WPR’s “BETA” resident musicologist Steve Gotcher to talk about the group’s newly released fifth album
“Sol Y Sombra,” the collective unconscious
and Johnson’s ability to lean in to his influences to create something new
The following interview has been edited for clarity and brevity
My dad had a huge record collection that he mysteriously never seemed to listen to
I have no memory of him ever putting a record on
So that’s something that I absorbed at a formative age
I got more into psychedelic classic rock — stuff that was easily accessible at the time — Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead and Neil Young
And so that’s just sort of my foundation of my love for music
heavy droning kind of stuff in my 20s and that informed my early bands
I’ve just come back full circle to the music of my youth
And that’s what I associate the Rose City Band stuff with more
Steve Gotcher: Were there any non-musical influences for this particular record
I’ve been doing Jung-ian psychotherapy in the last couple of years and I’ve gotten sort of obsessed with his philosophy of the psyche and the unconscious
I have a dream journal and I do a lot of dream analysis
So the title “Sol Y Sombra” — sun and shadow — sort of alludes to that
There’s this big part of us that we only really glimpse in dreams
And so that has been something that’s been preoccupying me for the last couple of years
And the concept of the record certainly has that vibe to it
and it just seems to be on the edge of falling apart totally
It’s an amazing thing that you pulled off
There’s a lot of fuzz or distortion
which as a guitar players is wonderful because it’s like surfing a sea
I wanted to remove a lot of that and find a clarity
I mean in the sense that it would evolve into a psychedelic cacophony at some point
Which is a cool thing because you’re waiting for it to happen and it doesn’t
we have a lot of improvisational sections in our set
And there’s always the possibility that things will fall apart
I think leaving room for that possibility is what enables you to create something potentially special on that night
You would excise that if it happens during the recordings
So let’s talk about the songs a little bit
And we spoke about the Grateful Dead a little bit ago
“Lights On the Way” definitely has a Grateful Dead-feel
RJ: I just try to open up and just let things come to me
That’s sort of how I work as a songwriter
And you can’t really run away from your influences
Sometimes I lean in and sometimes I lean back
And so the way I play rhythm is just very similar
I hear the little bit of Grateful Dead stuff in it
It’s usually when I’m recording
SG: You don’t sound like the kind of person who’s really trying to create your own particular sound
You’re very willing to just lean into whatever is appealing to you at that time
and that’s come to me later in life as I’ve matured a bit
and I think my music was always sort of a reaction to the culture
And now I’m trying to accept things as they are
everyone has their own unique things that they like
Even if we all share so many common things
That’s why it means something to people
But I think if you just stay true to your little eccentricities
you end up coming up with something unique
He’s written a book recently about world music
And he was saying that there is no pure music
We’re all pulling from the same things
This is why sometimes in scientific breakthroughs
people will invent the same thing on different parts of the globe
we’re pulling things from this well of knowledge and culture that’s thousands of years old
And you kind of have to just let it happen for the magic to be there
SG: The songs on the record move from melancholy to joyful
And you’ve said that “Rose City Band” tries to keep things light
but the darkness has crept in a little bit more this time
because I think when I first started this project
it was in some ways a reaction to my other bands
And a balance has come in with this project
SG: The first “Rose City Band” album was a bit of an enigma
It took you a while to even come forward as the guy behind the project
And it wasn’t until after your third album arrived that the band performed anywhere live
I actually made the record thinking about playing live
So a lot of the songs were geared toward that
And then the pandemic hit when it came out
I wanted it to just exist in the world without being considered in the context of me and my past work
SG: This album is laid out in a very intentional way
Did you spend a lot of time thinking about how to sequence the songs on this record
what’s the first song you’re going to hear when you put the needle down on both sides
I think it’s fascinating when you look at the second side of LPs
because a lot of times it’s the weirder songs
We had some weirder songs for this record that weren’t straightforward country rock or whatever
these songs are going to be on the second side and ease people into it
a lot of people who have a musical career start out a certain way and may move away
Joni Mitchell moved away from folk music more into jazz and some other experimental things
Are you doing that or are you doing it simultaneously with all three bands
RJ: The “Rose City Band” stuff is my main preoccupation right now
The other bands aren’t really active
so I guess I am moving away from that stuff
there’s definitely some sort of trajectory
