Gorklon Rusk it’s left people scratching their heads and desperately trying to figure out what it all means Gorklon Rusk is now trending—and it’s safe to say the name has taken on a life of its own The name Gorklon Rusk sounds like a space commander from a sci-fi movie it might just be Musk’s way of having some fun while hinting at bigger things could be a creative twist on “Grok” the AI chatbot Musk launched under his company xAI The term “grok” itself comes from classic science fiction and means to fully understand something on a deep a popular programming language known for its speed and soon as the name Gorklon Rusk popped up People compared Gorklon Rusk to a video game boss Some fans are convinced that Gorklon Rusk is actually a secret project in disguise possibly related to Grok AI or something new Musk is about to drop Others just love the chaos and creativity behind the name who else could pull off being called Gorklon Rusk and still break the internet This isn’t Elon Musk’s first online identity switch he’s gone by names like “Chief Twit” But Gorklon Rusk might be his most mysterious and meme-worthy title yet The pattern is clear: Musk loves keeping people guessing—and the league's bottom two places it was Leicester who ended their winless run and extended Saints' unwanted streak with three games of the season remaining "I thought we started the game quite well." Interim Manager Rusk reflected "I think the goal was possibly against a run of play and it seemed to totally knock us and we struggled to maintain any type of performance level from there on in." it added something that we maybe didn't need to get going again "I've been really happy with the lead up to this game today and the last couple of games and what we were seeing for whatever reason today it didn't work - I need to assess why that was and it needed something different "It's important for everyone that we finish as hard-working as we possibly can and I have no doubt that that's going to be the case I've inherited it with seven games to go when the team's only won two games "Managing that and pushing that forwards is one of my priorities and what we need to do is stick together - stick together as a football club and somehow get over the line at the end of the season with as much dignity as possible." Tuesday on DrydenWire.com and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law Download PDF Trinity senior Nik Narain performed his new stand-up comedy show “Rusk” Feb exploring questions of identity while sprinkling in anecdotes and scientific comedy The show took place in the Rubenstein Arts Center’s intimate Ruby Lounge drawing both in-person and virtual attendees with the in-person crowd growing large enough to require additional seating It was opened by Trinity senior Ana Herndon who did a classic comedy set touching on everything from the TikTok ban to egg donations to choking alone Narain came on and launched into his routine a hard biscuit or twice-baked bread found in many Eurasian cuisines rusks are commonly served with and dipped into tea and Narain returned to this theme of transformation throughout his show Narain's jokes spanned a wide range of topics from “raw-dogging a kiwi” and being a “part-time gay” to the contrasts between the Duke community and his home community to becoming "overeducated and unemployable" by double majoring in Physics and Visual and Media Studies to his dating life He wove in his journey through exploring gender and sexuality Narain also interweaved comedy with science including a number of quite funny physics jokes about energy and friction in his life – with a special emphasis on times he struggled cultural commentary and identity-related content with effective wordplay Narain drew from his personal experience to create widely accessible and relatable jokes Though few in the audience shared all of his identities the jokes Narain made about them resonated widely and felt quite relatable He managed to make humor from his lived experiences in a way that respected them while not reducing them to mere set pieces Everything from the delivery to the pacing to the pauses further amplified the comedy Narain was evidently enjoying himself onstage “Rusk” succeeded in discussing and educating on identity without sacrificing its comedic momentum The physics and science jokes sprinkled throughout added additional flavor creating a balance of depth and comedy that made the show fun and memorable The overall theme of transformation was also well-executed Narain wrapped up the show in a way that felt inspiring Narain mentioned that he has been interested in comedy since he was a child and that grew up surrounded by it Stand-up in particular appeals to him because it “makes you really good at failure” and lets you try new things “meet a lot of really cool people” and “get better at telling stories” and “connecting with people.” He has honed his craft through his involvement with the Duke University Stand-up Troupe and performances at shows throughout the Triangle area and elsewhere.  In putting on “Rusk,” Narain sought to celebrate transformation and trans joy while getting his first full performance and recording performance samples Such samples are often used for securing gigs and promoting oneself making them important for any aspiring comedian He also wanted to further explore the intersection of comedy and science communication laughing at science is very much a “radical act,” as the general public rarely associates science with joy instead associating it with “pain and unbridled agony.” By incorporating scientific elements into “Rusk” and future performances Narain hopes to help more people connect to science and shift their “relationship” with it “to one of joy.” “Rusk” marks a promising debut of a routine that will undoubtedly continue to evolve through future performances upcoming performances of “Rusk” are already scheduled at the NYC Fringe Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival Narain hopes to work more science into his routine and replace American cultural references that may not resonate with international audiences While it will not be performed again at Duke “Rusk” exemplifies our campus’ lively comedy scene and the quality of Duke student comedy Editor's note: Nik Narain is a columnist for The Chronicle's 120th volume Zev van Zanten is a Trinity junior and recess editor of The Chronicle's 120th volume Share and discuss “Rusk: Celebrating and exploring identity and science” on social media This was the best chance to get that elusive 1th point of the season but this was a sorry performance that lacked just about everything you could name There is not a lot that can be said about this game that hasn't been said week in week out before Simon Rusk put out the same side and it looked tired the players lacked motivation and put bluntly we did the same old things and got the same results all three lack pace and they lack marking skills and leadership he has clearly decided that these are his men he left Nathan Wood on the bench and Armel Bella-Kotchap and Charlie Taylor at home he needed to change something here and he didn't In the rest of the team it was the same story and at half time at least Rusk realised his error and changed things however the one thing that turned Saints fans was the substitution of Mateus Fernandes with only 57 minutes gone I don't have anything against Will Smallbone but he is not going to get you back into a game when you are behind why is Adam Lallana not named on the bench I have seen some horrible abuse aimed at Rusk on social media Rusk's only crime is not to be up to the job in hand and making some poor selections but it is not his fault he is left holding the wheel till the end of the season but he is not yet ready for management at the top level So it seems that we will limp to the end of the season doing the same things and getting the same results unless Rusk decides that plan A has failed and he has a plan B This was perhaps the worst game of the season when they got the second just before the break it effectively ended the game as a contest Leicester concentrated on not doing anything silly and letting us back in the game and we did pretty much the same The only positive point was once again the travelling fans the departure of Fernandes just before the hour mark prompted a long and loud rendition of a song in his honour that seemed to continue for most of the rest of the game IL.  A memorial service will be held at noon on Tuesday 2025, at Vandemore Funeral Home in Geneseo Visitation will be held from 10:00 am Read our Privacy notice A routine traffic stop in Texas turned deadly when a police officer shot an unarmed man - and footage of the confrontation has been made public after a family’s fight for information and a lawsuit against the agency involved for allegedly not coming to a complete stop His mother didn’t know what happened in the final moments of her son’s life for nearly two years “I just smoked a dude,” the officer involved said after the shooting, NBC reported. The video starts with the blue and red lights of the police vehicle flashing as the car pulls up behind a Nissan Altima on a small road. Rusk County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Shane Iverson exits his police vehicle and approaches the driver’s side of the door. “How are you doing, sir?” the driver asked as the police officer. The officer said he pulled over the driver because he “blew through” a stop sign. The driver then objected, saying he came to a “complete stop.” “No you didn’t,” Iverson replies, to which the driver presses: “What do you mean?” The officer asks him to step out of the car as Randall asks the officer if he could show him that he didn’t stop. Randall, wearing a blue and white hat, a t-shirt and khakis, then stands up next to his car with the driver’s door open. Iverson tells him to turn around, put his hands behind his back, and keep his hands out of his pockets. The footage captures the officer prying in the driver’s khaki pockets before digging through his pants. Grabbing the driver’s arms as he’s pressed up against the vehicle, the officer urges him to keep his hands behind his back. “I don’t have anything on me, officer,” Randall said firmly. “Officer, please can you tell me what I’m under arrest for?” In a quick escalation, Iverson can then be seen sticking his arms under both of the driver’s armpits, and spinning him toward the car door and forcing the young man down to the ground. Iverson then pins him down but Randall manages to get up and the officer follows suit. Randall’s hat goes flying as they both fall backward. Randall rolls on the grass on the other side of the road before springing up to standing and then appears to start running away from the scene. Meanwhile, Iverson gets himself up on one knee, reaches for his gun as he yells “Get down!” and fires. Randall was shot in his chest under his arm. Yelling, Randall rams into a white mailbox at the front of a yard before dashing off into the distance. Iverson picks himself up from the ground and starts using his radio to get medical attention. Panting, the officer walks down the road in the direction Randall fled, but later collapsed. “Dude, you OK?” he asks. Randall does not respond. Over the radio, the officer says: “I need an ambulance. Call everybody. I’ve got a shooting.” Iverson is then captured running back to the Nissan Altima, picks up what appears to be a few of his belongings, and gets back into his police vehicle. He drives down the road, where Randall’s body lies lifelessly. “It was a f***ing meth pipe, man,” Iversen tells his colleague at the scene as he searched Randall’s pockets. Days after the shooting, Iverson sat with Texas Rangers to explain what happened, claiming he thought Randall had a “weapon in his waistband,” according to a transcript obtained by NBC News. Iverson has since retired, according to the outlet. Wendy Tippett, Randall’s mother, said she was on the phone with her son when he was pulled over. He was concerned that his temporary paper license plate from Oklahoma had expired, according to court documents. In the case that his vehicle was confiscated, she said she could meet him at the traffic stop. She was just a few minutes away. “He had called to let me know that he was going to be home a few minutes later,” Tippitt told NBC News. “So I wouldn’t worry.” When she arrived, she saw police officers setting up police tape. “I had this horrible, horrible feeling,” she said. She later witnessed officers covering her son’s body. “Go home and be with your family,” she recalled one saying. “My family was laying in the road!” Tippitt told NBC News. Tippitt spent the next week trying to figure out how a traffic stop led to her son’s death. “No one was telling us anything,” she told the outlet. She filed a wrongful suit in federal court against Iverson in October 2023 for excessive force, assault and battery and intentional emotional distress. It wasn’t until May 2024 that she first saw the harrowing footage containing the last moments of her son’s life. No criminal charges have been brought against Iverson and a grand jury opted not to indict him, according to the outlet. “No one has said an apology in Rusk County,” Randall’s older brother Douglas told NBC News. “No one has shown remorse.” A sheriff's deputy in Texas opened fire on unarmed Timothy Randall during a traffic stop and killed the man. Now, footage from the incident is trust into the spotlight as his family fights in a lawsuit about his death. govt and politics"},{"score":0.722932,"label":"/automotive and vehicles/cars/car culture"},{"score":0.71936,"label":"/sports/hunting and shooting"},{"score":0.708579,"label":"/automotive and vehicles/auto parts"},{"score":0.679905,"label":"/automotive and vehicles/vehicle brands/nissan"},{"score":0.637756,"label":"/law ALBUQUERQUE – Former Mayor David Rusk was honored today with the dedication of ABQ RIDE’s original transit facility and the KiMo Theatre’s orchestra pit who served as Albuquerque’s mayor from 1977-1981 He was also instrumental in the renovation of the KiMo theater envisioning it as the future centerpiece of Downtown's transformation into an arts and entertainment center is an internal transit operations facility focused on career growth and training This facility holds historic significance as Albuquerque’s first bus transit facility and the City’s only transit facility for decades until an expansion in the 2000s and create an environment for the transit system to thrive and better serve the public,” said Transit Director Leslie Keener “I hope Mayor Rusk is proud of ABQ RIDE’s progress and what our department is doing to improve public safety and increase equity.” The 311 Community Contact Center is a centralized call center for the City of Albuquerque The 311 service is a single telephone number for all non-emergency City of Albuquerque inquiries and services The official website for the City of Albuquerque Memorial visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory- Geneseo Chapel Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday Inurnment will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery-Geneseo memorials may be directed to the family where it will be distributed to a worthy cause that is meaningful to the family the son of Clarence and Mildred (Gramling) Rusk In 1984 Jimmie opened Tri-Co Insurance Agency. He met the love of his life and they were married in Las Vegas on July 2 Together they formed a beautiful family composed of seven children Jim and Trish enjoyed life together and often took spur of the moment trips that always included antiquing He was a golf fanatic and made five hole-in-ones Jim also enjoyed playing poker and spending time with his grandchildren Those left to cherish his memory are children; Jimmie (Tina) Rusk Christopher (Jamie) Holm and Kim (Jeff) Barnes brothers; Richard and William Rusk; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild Please select what you would like included for printing: Copy the text below and then paste that into your favorite email application This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply Service map data © OpenStreetMap contributors RUSK COUNTY — A routine traffic stop in Rusk County led to the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs according to the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office Rusk County Patrol Deputy Patrick Heater initiated a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle near Conrath Deputy Heater requested assistance from a K9 unit Leo alerted to the vehicle and later located illegal items during an article search outside the vehicle Authorities seized a large amount of marijuana and methamphetamine Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty the Hixson family has served the people of Central Louisiana by providing funeral and cremation services to all faiths Find your loved one below to share a memory or express your condolences You may also show sympathy by sending flowers Enter your information to receive emails when new obituaries are published We're dedicated to providing personalized professional and compassionate services to help lighten your burden and support you Receive emails when new obituariesare published to our website Your browser may not work with certain site.
