The San Ramon Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans tonight for an affordable apartment complex to rise at 2453 Camino Ramon within the Bishop Ranch neighborhood. The project will bring two hundred apartments as part of the ambitious master plan to bring housing to the decades-old suburban office campus. Eden Housing is responsible for the project application
The complex will yield a combined 126,480 square feet
with 84,160 square feet in Building 1 and 42,320 square feet of housing in Building 2
Building 1 will include 79 units of housing for low-income seniors and one market-rate unit for the on-site manager
Building two will include 119 units of affordable housing for larger families and non-age-restricted units alongside a property manager’s unit
Parking will be provided for 160 cars and 16 bicycles
2453 Camino Ramon open space between Building 1 and 2
Steinberg Hart is responsible for the design
Illustrations show both structures will incorporate similar design features
with white stucco and wood-like panels incorporated across the articulated exterior
The housing will be built on top of the above-ground concrete garage podiums
RHAA is responsible for landscape architecture
The ground-level area will be improved with a community park separating the two structures
The park will feature a tree-lined circle next to the arrival plaza and both lobbies
Both structures will feature podium-top courtyards with landscaping
The 2.2-acre property is located along Camino Ramon between Norris Canyon Road and Executive Parkway
Future residents will be across from the currently rising townhouse development
While the site is located next to the popular Iron Horse Trail
the project does not include any new connections
Eden Housing has filed the application on behalf of Granada Sales Inc. and Sunset Development Company. Sunset Development is the family-owned company responsible for building Bishop Ranch since the late 1970s. Sunset has worked with the city of San Ramon to pursue the CityWalk master plan
The ambitious vision hopes to reshape the 585-acre office campus with roughly 4,500 apartments
The estimated cost and timeline for construction have yet to be shared
The San Ramon Planning Commission is scheduled to start tonight, Tuesday, February 4th, starting at 6 PM. The event will be held at San Ramon City Hall. The event will be available to view online via Zoom or YouTube, but participation will be limited to in-person attendees only. a ballot measure proposing a 1% local sales tax in San Ramon
passed with 56.21% of the vote (21,035 votes in favor out of 37,421 total votes)
estimated in 2023 that a 1% sales tax would generate approximately $15.7 million a year to support City services
Updated analysis from November 2024 estimates that a 1% sales tax would now generate closer to $15.24 million a year
due to recent economic trends such as a decrease in purchasing
Sales tax is a variable revenue source for cities

An early portion of revenue is expected to become available in the summer of 2025

plenty in and around San Ramon will be open
There are also plenty of family-friendly activities going on in San Ramon leading up to and on Easter

San Ramon / Alameda County – Caltrans has scheduled a partial closure of southbound Interstate 680 between Alcosta Boulevard in San Ramon and the I-580/I-680 connector in Pleasanton Friday
Three right lanes of southbound Interstate 680 will be closed between Alcosta Boulevard in San Ramon and the I-580/I-680 Connector in Pleasanton from 9 p.m
Two left lanes of I-680 will remain open during this closure
we encourage motorists to take alternative routes to alleviate traffic congestion within the construction work zone on southbound I-680 in the cities of San Ramon and Dublin
it’s best to avoid the area if possible

In the case of rain or unanticipated developments
Portable changeable message signs will be placed prior to closure advising motorists of this closure and will remain in effect throughout the weekend while work is being performed
Northbound I-680 and I-580/I-680 interchange connector will remain open and will not be affected by the closure
Caltrans is aware that the closures will impact the motoring public and measures are being taken to minimize inconvenience
Caltrans thanks the motoring public in advance for your patience as we work to improve I-680

A new residential project has been proposed for development at Bishop Ranch 7 in the heart of the Contra Costa County city
The project proposal includes the development of a new townhouse community offering nearly 200 units and on-site parking
Sunset Development is responsible for the application. SDG Architects is responsible for the design
Named Bartlett, the community will replace a large office block at 2545 Camino Ramon with new housing as part of the CityWalk Bishop Ranch masterplan
of which 118 will be multi-plex units and 72 single-family homes
The 118 multiplex units will be spread across 25 structures spanning nearly 240,000 square feet
The suburban homes will each span between 2,000 and 2,400 square feet
for a total of 159,096 square feet with 36,400 square feet of parking
Renderings reveal three different elevation styles with slightly different color palettes
All of the facades will be comprised of stucco
2545 Camino Ramon Single-Family Elevations via SDG Architects
As covered previously
Barlett will replace a 12.64-acre parcel located bound by Camino Ramon
The site is directly across from the 404-unit City Village masterplan by Summerhill Homes
Future residents will be close to the Iron Horse Middle School
and around 15 minutes from the busy City Center Bishop Ranch shopping mall
The retail center was opened in 2018 by Sunset Development
with design by the renowned Renzo Piano Building Workshop
The San Ramon Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans later today, December 17th, 2024 at 06 pm, details of joining can be found here
Notice how pretty much NONE of these projects listed on “SF” YIMBY are IN San Francisco?!
And the very few that are have only a couple of units in them
By: Andrew Nelson 5:00 am on March 4
The proposal has shrunk by four units since our previous coverage
Residence types will vary with 67 single-family dwellings and 128 attached units
The development will yield around 400,170 square feet for housing and 102,850 square feet of parking spread across private garages
with an average density of 17.58 units per acre
SDG Architects is responsible for the design
The homes will take on a familiar contemporary residential vernacular
Facade materials will include stucco and fiber cement board siding
Garage access will be made in alleyways extending from the master plan’s central loop
with front doors facing landscaped pathways winding across the site
illustration by Van Dorn Abed Landscape Architects
The 11-acre site is located along Camino Ramon
Future residents will be within walking distance from the busy Crow Canyon Commons shopping center
The office block is occupied by three two-story buildings anchored with the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital
the 404-unit single-family masterplan under construction by SummerHill Homes

Three in 10 say they've fallen victim to the scam
wanted to help educate local seniors on how to avoid a similar fate
She partnered with organizations like the Family Caregiver Alliance and Choice in Aging to create a volunteer-driven scam education program for the elderly and their caregivers
“I saw firsthand how confusing and stressful these calls could be for my grandmother,” she told Patch
“She would often question whether they were real
and I realized that many other seniors likely face the same challenges.”
She ran a few sessions at a local senior living center
including how to recognize scam calls and phishing emails; identifying fraudulent IRS
and lottery scams; best practices for safeguarding personal and financial information; and steps to take if someone falls victim to fraud
Several seniors reported successfully avoiding scams as a result of the training
and some said that they passed along the information to their friends
The senior living center asked Adya to give monthly presentations on the topic
They are considering ways to integrate technology like AI-powered scam detection tools
and a hotline for scoping out suspicious calls
