The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office sent out a warning on Friday about the game played by many high school seniors
senior shoot their classmates with water guns outside school property just before graduating
The game is a tradition for the seniors at Ballston Spa High School
“Senior assassin is a fun game for seniors to do
It’s like a water-based game,” said one student from Ballston Spa High School
Parent from the school tell NewsChannel 13 they have no issue with the game
“It’s something that’s fun for them to do
I haven’t seen anything harmful from any of the kids
the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said the game has potentially deadly consequences
Officials said there has been recent incidents across Saratoga County
One of those incidents was in Malta where police received several 911 calls of a male with a firearm on Route 9
That firearm turned out to be a water gun a part of a Senior Assassins game
“We understand that graduation time is a time for celebration,” said Undersheriff Jefferey R
“If you’re going to participate in this game
Water guns may look realistic and running towards any active police investigation can have significant unintended consequences.”

Here’s a great model for the South Bay for these huge retail+parking lots:
– Demolish everything – Ground/First Floor is retail and parking for that retail in a garage
– Second floor is a parking garage for residents
It’s sad that even these dense developments will be consigned to car dependency
Hopefully South Bay will eventually realize they picked the wrong transit modality and start building proper public transit
At least increasing density is a step in the right direction
it still makes sense to drive a car for the majority of trips because public transit is not there

Ring denied emergency request for doorbell video in Saratoga Springs double murderby Brian Mullahy
Utah (KUTV) — Ring denied an emergency request from Saratoga Springs Police to view doorbell camera video just hours after a mother and son
and his mom was rushed in critical condition to the hospital
investigator Dallin Cazier said he made the emergency ask of Ring
"A representative called me and declined to send any footage due to a perceived lack of exigency," wrote Cazier
he said Ring determined circumstances were not urgent enough to release the video
taken from the front door of the place of the murders
responded late Thursday afternoon on why it denied immediate video access
”Federal law authorizes emergency disclosures if a company believes in good faith that there is danger of death or serious physical injury to any person(such as an active kidnapping),” she said
Ring determined this was not the case based on the information provided by the law-enforcement officer.”
Neighbor Jason Salisbury pondered if Ring’s initial denial impacted the investigation
“I don't know what would constitute an emergency
”Sounds like the very definition of emergency where this video would come into play,” said neighbor Michael Rose
The discovery of mother and son was on Friday
Ring said it received a warrant for the video and gave it to police on April 7
with Daniels calling that “within a normal response timeline."
Investigator Cazier said police had reason to see it sooner
"This video may give critical information to identify the suspect in this case," he said
He noted homeowners in the community shared their videos with police
showed a figure in the morning darkness hours before the discoveries of mother and son
What's on the video from the Lyman-Painter door cam
of Halfmoon was arrested on Friday by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office following investigation into a traffic stop in Clifton Park
The Sheriff’s Office says they conducted a traffic stop around 2:10 a.m
on Route 9 for a vehicle failing to maintain its lane
Durazno-Escandon is accused of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and at a time when his blood alcohol content was 0.10%
He is also accused with failing to drive his vehicle within a single lane
operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater
Durazno-Escandon was released on appearance tickets pending further proceedings in Clifton Park Town Court

Four 'figures' reported near home of Saratoga Springs double murderby Brian Mullahy
Utah (KUTV) — A neighbor who lives several doors from the Saratoga Springs home where Jessica Lyman and her young son Eli Painter were shot said his family's security camera video showed more than one person outside the house in the morning darkness of March 28 — hours before the two were found
Jayden Bradley said he viewed the images and gave them to police
”We saw four shadow figures walking up the driveway
and three of them went around the front of the car
and one opened the driver's side door
"Then the other three went around the front of the house
the first video was really hard to make out who or how tall they were," Bradley said
adding his family had opened windows but still did not hear anything unusual overnight
some neighbors have discussed a suspected search in or near the Jordan River a couple of days after the discoveries
Police have not confirmed Bradley's account or the river search
It's now been four weeks since the shootings
Eight-year-old Eli was dead when police arrived at the home
and Jessica Lyman died a couple of days later
the Cove at Jordan River HOA Board said it was "gathering anything that might have been seen" from the community clubhouse
we asked that you check your backyards for any suspicious items," the message stated
Contact the police immediately to handle the situation
Your cooperation and prompt action are highly appreciated

The Modesty, first run in 1942, is a relative newcomer to Churchill Downs, which transferred the race from Arlington Park when parent company Churchill Downs, Inc. (CDI) opted to end racing at the suburban Chicago track and sell the property to the NFL’s Chicago Bears for a potential football stadium site.
The race was inaugurated at Washington Park, and even had a running at Hawthorne, but Arlington was the longtime home of the Modesty, which became the local prep race for the Grade 1 Beverly D. Stakes, part of the Arlington Million day program. The latter stakes is now run alongside the Million at CDI-owned Colonial Downs in Virginia.
The Modesty’s distance has changed, too, from as short as six furlongs in the late 1940s and early ‘50s, to as long as 1 3/16 miles, its distance from 1989 until its final running at Arlington in 2021.
