(KATU) — Scappoose Police arrested 63-year-old Katherine Ann Raina and 31-year-old Hillary Clare Murphy Wednesday on several charges following an investigation into the death of Benjamin David Murphy

Police Chief Chris Fluellen told KATU the alleged victim is the son of Raina and sister of Murphy
with police responding to the reported death 3 days later on March 9
Police determined the death was not natural
but the result of criminal actions by Raina and Murphy
Both women are charged with first-degree murder
The indictment explains the first-degree murder charge by saying the women intentionally tortured Murphy
The alleged crimes occurred at the family home on Southwest Linden Street
The Columbia County Major Crimes Team investigation led to the women being indicted on Tuesday
Both women are being held on a $1 million bail and are expected to be arraigned on Thursday in Columbia County Circuit Court

Marist Catholic senior quarterback Nick Hudson turned in his usual productive performance
completing 17 of 28 passes for 306 yards and four touchdowns

who ran it to the Marist Catholic 12-yard line
Nowlin threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to junior Brayden Miller to make it 28-7 late in the third quarter
but Marist Catholic's defense snuffed any hopes of a comeback
Buzzard intercepted Nowlin and returned it 53 yards for a touchdown
which scored 83 points in two playoff wins
Marist Catholic had plenty of tacklers ready to bring them down
“We knew they were going to come out passing
ready to stop their receivers,” Buzzard said
“We got our D-line to get the pressure on the QB
Senior lineman Jackson Christian had both of Marist Catholic's sacks

said Scappoose's struggles were due to a combination of Marist Catholic's defense and lack of execution
“You've got to take accountability at some point,” Nowlin said

(KATU) — Columbia County deputies have released new details regarding a shooting incident that occurred in Scappoose
Authorities received a call shortly after 8 p.m
last night about a disturbance at a residence on Green Meadow Way
the incident stemmed from a fight between roommates
deputies discovered one man with a gunshot wound to his chest and another man inside the home
Deputies arrested 36-year-old Daniel Brandon Williams
28-year-old John Fisher Adams was transported to a Portland hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening
Adams has been charged with attempted arson
(KATU) — A fire broke out early Sunday morning at Skyline Marina
prompting a swift response from the Scappoose Fire District
Firefighters arrived at approximately 12:12 a.m
to find a floating home fully engulfed in flames
The fire department quickly called a second alarm due to the unique challenges posed by the moorage fire
and the blaze was brought under control shortly thereafter
The response included both career and volunteer firefighters
with assistance from Columbia 9-1-1 Communications District
the City of Scappoose Government Police Department
and the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation
The homeowner sustained minor burn injuries but declined medical treatment and is receiving assistance from the Red Cross
No injuries to firefighters were reported.
