(WAFF) - Four people were injured in an accident involving a train and a car on Friday night Scottsboro Police officials say the accident happened on North Kyle Street around 8:51 p.m WAFF 48 News' Nick Balenger was on the scene and says the train involved was with Norfolk Southern Scottsboro Police officials said the westbound Norfolk Southern train hit a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee as it crossed the tracks The vehicle reportedly overturned and ejected one occupant The driver of the Jeep has been identified as Cameron Jones Officials said all four occupants were transported to an area hospital Scottsboro police said two of the four remain in the hospital in stable condition Two others were released from the hospital No injuries have been reported among the train crew Nearby (WAFF) - Boat owners at Goose Pond got quite the wake-up call Tuesday morning when five boats went up in flames on Dock 6 Firefighters say they received the call at around 6 a.m. and they arrived to find multiple boats had been destroyed “We had three or four that were heavily damaged that had actually sunk in the water in their spot Two broke free and broke away from the dock which helped us,” said Scottsboro Fire Department Lieutenant Patrick Dicus A woman who keeps a boat at the marina went outside to have coffee Tuesday morning and watch the sunrise when she saw the flames The husband also ran to a couple of boats with two fire extinguishers was only docked at the marina for two days before the fire claimed it Goosepond General Manager Lyle Sosebee says receiving the call this morning left a sinking feeling “First thing that goes through your mind is that everyone is safe and everyone is trying to do what they can to help everybody out,” Sosebee said Sosebee says boat owners had recently gone through fire safety training which came in handy they called in for help and probably saved all kinds of other issues that we don’t even know could have happened,” said Sosebee Sosebee said boaters will have to access the docks under supervision as crews work to repair the damaged slips The State Fire Marshal and members of NTSB are currently investigating what sparked the early morning blaze No injuries have been reported at this time Click Here to Subscribe on YouTube: Watch the latest WAFF 48 news
