(Atlanta News First) - Firefighters worked overnight to put out a house fire in Gwinnett County during storms in the area
According to the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services
firefighters responded to the house fire Saturday around 9:55 p.m
SW in Snellville after a neighbor reported flames coming from the roof
Crews arrived and saw the fire and quickly started to bring it under control
Fire services say damage was “limited to the attic space.”
One resident was able to get out of the house before fire crews arrived
Firefighters believe the fire was caused by a lightning strike from the storm

(Atlanta News First) - A metro Atlanta 17-year-old is still reeling from the aftermath of being attacked at her job
It happened in March at the Little Caesars Pizza on Centerville Highway in Snellville
The victim told police she was working in the back when several people rushed inside
She said two of the suspects started attacking her while another recorded the assault
“Someone gave them a key, but the only people who had a key were shift leaders, and they didn’t work there. So the only way they would’ve gotten the key is from one of the suspects,” the victim told Telemundo Atlanta.
The victim told Telemundo Atlanta she no longer goes to school in person and is scared to leave her home alone following the incident

GA — The man who was found shot to death in a car on Saturday at Bryant Drive has been identified
Gwinnett County Police on Monday said Brian Smith
where they say they found Smith dead in the car
but police said no one has been arrested in the fatal shooting
"Gwinnett County Police investigators are asking the public to contact the police department with any information relevant to this investigation," police said in a news release
Police asked anyone with information in the case to call detectives, (770) 513-5300, or Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta

The male suspect in the officer-involved shooting incident has been identified as 32-year-old Edwin Mendez of Snellville
Mendez has been charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
and shooting a firearm within 50-yards of a public roadway
An officer-involved shooting in Snellville resulted in a man being transported to a local hospital
The Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) is reporting that at around 11:30 p.m
officers responded to a 9-1-1 call for complaints of gunshots coming from a residence on Holland Drive
The caller allegedly said they heard four to five shots
they reportedly heard arguing inside of the residence
an adult male walked out of the front.
One of the officers saw he was allegedly armed with a handgun
GCPD said that the officer announced himself
and the male pointed the gun at the officer
The officer fired one shot and struck the male
Officers secured the firearm and began rendering aid before the male was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition according to GCPD
The identity of the male is not being released at this time
although GCPD did say charges against the man are pending

Kallie Landreth was last seen on home security footage walking toward Lenora Church at around 6:45 p.m
Landreth is 5 feet 3 inches tall with brown hair and hazel eyes and weighs about 185 pounds

(Atlanta News First) - Gwinnett County police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are looking into a shooting involving an officer Sunday night just outside of Snellville
The Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) says just before 11:30 p.m.
officers responded to a 911 call after a neighbor reported hearing gunshots coming from a residence on the 3600 block of Holland Drive
Officials say the caller told dispatchers that they heard around four or five shots
they heard arguing coming from inside the house
As officers prepared to make contact with the people inside the home
they said a man walked out the front door and an officer noticed he was armed with a handgun
Officials say the officer identified himself as an officer and the man immediately pointed the gun at him
That officer then fired one shot and struck the man
That gun was then picked up by officers who immediately began rendering aid,” said Sgt
Collin Flynn with the Gwinnett County Police Department
The man was transported to a local hospital in stable condition
possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony

No one else was injured during this incident

GA — A recent SWAT incident ended with a man facing charges of aggravated assault and other charges in Snellville
the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office said Friday
Authorities said deputies were executing a warrant at a home on Thursday when the suspect
who they identified as Denzel James Thompson
Authorities added the deputies were not injured
The sheriff's office did not specify the warrants or say how long SWAT was at the home
authorities said Thompson was arrested and taken into custody
He was charged on suspicion of four counts of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer
four counts of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain crimes and unauthorized discharge within 50 yards of a public highway
He was being held at the Gwinnett County Jail
