MLB Trade Rumors

This pushes back Scherzer’s and Swanson’s return timelines to late May at the earliest
Jon Heyman of The New York Post provides the financials of the Turnbull deal
It’s technically a salary of $1,265,306 but prorated to an even $1MM due some of the season having already transpired
The righty can also unlock bonuses worth $500K based on innings pitched
He will also get $125K for spending 60 days on the active roster
May 3: The Blue Jays and Spencer Turnbull have agreed to a major league contract, as reported by Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith and Shi Davidi
The right-hander went unsigned over the offseason after spending the 2024 campaign with the Phillies
his next stint as a starter would be short-lived
Turnbull exited early from his first start back in the Phillies’ rotation
He went on the injured list with a lat strain that ultimately ended his season
All told, Turnbull finished the 2024 season with a 2.65 ERA and a 3.67 SIERA in 54 1/3 innings. That performance, along with his overall solid career numbers when healthy (4.28 ERA, 3.81 FIP in 67 career starts), was enough to earn him the final spot on MLBTR’s Top 50 Free Agents list this past offseason
and therefore his limited MLB track record
were evidently enough to scare off teams from pursuing him
He was not credibly linked to any suitors this winter
Yet, as pitcher injuries began to pile up almost immediately, teams that weren’t interested in Turnbull over the offseason may have changed their minds. The right-hander reportedly threw for teams in mid-March, according to Nicholson-Smith
While he may have to consent to an optional assignment so he can ramp up in the minor leagues
he wasn’t nearly as effective in his next relief outing
has since been sent down to Triple-A Buffalo
but his overall Triple-A numbers are poor (6.42 ERA and 5.53 FIP in 13 starts since joining the Blue Jays organization)
and it wouldn’t be in anyone’s best interest to rush him to the majors simply because Toronto is out of other options
Turnbull will provide the Blue Jays some much-needed starting pitching depth
If and when Scherzer makes his return to the rotation
Turnbull could also slide into a long-man role in the bullpen
the Jays will presumably offer more details about his eventual role and how long it will be until he’s ready to take the mound in the majors
Newsstand Toronto Blue Jays Transactions Erik Swanson Max Scherzer Spencer Turnbull
Nice under the radar move for the Jays here
Can’t figure out why it took until May for some team to sign him
I wanted the Yankees to add him to replace one of Warren or Carrasco
Not the player’s fault that he was injured
filed a MLBPA grievance to assert Turnbull’s rights against the Detroit Tigers whose new President of Baseball Ops
attempted to send Turnbull to the minor leagues in 2023 when Turnbull was injured
Spencer Turnbull pitched a NO HITTER for the Detroit Tigers v the Mariners
Turnbull was IL for the entire season with Tommy John surgery
caused friction in the relationship between Turnbull
the Tigers and his agent Scott Boras that lead to Turnbull leaving the Tigers
Turnbull’s 2nd bid for a NO HITTER was broken up in the 7th inning while pitching for the Phillies
Facts and Fact checking: revealed an unfortunate situation that should not lead to major league quality starter to linger on the free agent market all off season when Turnbull
has the skills to help may MLB teams who are in need of quality starting pitching: Angels

Spencer Turnbull clinches NO HITTER versus Seattle Mariner in Seattle
Yeah I wanted the Yankees to sign him also
it definitely didn’t make any sense that they didn’t
but lost his focus when Walker returned to the rotation
but seemed to mentally check out once he was moved to the pen
A future of multiple DFAs comes with being a long reliever
And alternative facts if you have those as well
This is all about our OPINION of baseball and the people that play it
I was merely poking fun at @Dustyslambchops23
Sometimes I take these silly comments a little too seriously
It’s so cute how you geeks talk to each other
I have dusty muted so it didn’t show his comment on my feed
It appeared to me as if you were replying to me
Yes there are plenty of “facts” relating to the situation with Turnbull
the Tigers and what happened when he was injured and the team attempted to DFA him to AAA
Really selling the Known Knowns short here
Fresh arm and knows Hoffman not a surprise there
is there a specific reason(s) he couldn’t get signed anywhere for so long
Jays needed to do something…so we shall see
my take has been that Turnbull has a certain “appreciation” of himself
The way he and the Tigers parted has been discussed ad nauseum
He hired Boras and appeared to not want to settle for anything other than a major league contract
He bet he could easily have signed any number of minor league deals with invites to prove himself in major league camps
My guess is he will be moderately successful for a while with the Jays
He and Harris had a spat over whether he was injured
Harris had to recall him from a minor league option
Then Turnbull filed a grievance over his time to FA
Pretty sure this is about how that spat played out
Turnbull was getting roughed up and was demoted to the minors
Days later Turnbull claimed he was roughed up because he was injured
The Tigers had to bring him back up and place him on the major league DL
The Tigers were not happy because Turnbull never mentioned being injured until after he was sent down
definitely has talent and value to a major league pitching rotation
Scott Boras intervened because Turnbull was playing through an injury
The controversy revolved around the Detroit Tigers’ decision to option Spencer Turnbull to the minors with a reported neck injury in May 2023
despite his previous no-hitter performance
a right-handed pitcher for the Detroit Tigers
threw a no-hitter against the Seattle Mariners on May 18
This was the fifth no-hitter of the 2021 Major League Baseball season
and the eighth in Tigers franchise history
Turnbull’s no-hitter helped the Tigers win the game 5-0
Turnbull carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning against the White Sox on April 19
but ultimately allowed a hit in the 7th inning
Agents and players are rightly concerned with “service time” issues to vest and protect their retirement benefits and pay since one catastrophic injury could be a career ending injury
retirement and medical benefits must be protected from the players’ and agents’ prospective or the player having a catastrophic career ending injury may be SOL and/or not vest and/or qualify for the correct amount of benefits
after many years of service in the minors and major leagues
This is why players rely on their agents for pay
retirement and medical issues with their teams (so it protects their relationship with their team/employer(s)from going sour so to speak)
Turnbull situation and Turnbull’s injury history may have impacted Turnbull’s ability to get another major league job and kept Turnbull on the free agent board longer than necessary
Watched just about every appearance he made last year for the Phillies and Turnbull was solid
They probably never should have removed him from the rotation
they were planning to go with a 4-man rotation
He is from Alabama and also played at the University of Alabama
Any issues with “attitude” or “personality” shouldn’t even be a consideration considering we stayed true to Ozuna
He would have helped this staff out a lot more than Bryce elder or any other scrub we might throw in there at the backend of the rotation
Are they announcing his going on the IL at the same time
They literally have a minor league rotation right now
I didn’t know a minor league rotation could shut-out the Royals…
Turnbull had a neck injury that was undisclosed
There are two issues with Turnbull: his health and his effect in the room
I suggest the latter is going to be an issue at some point
Dunno where you are coming up with this clubhouse problem with Turnbull?
Turbull played with Alabama no complaints/problems
I can understand a New President of Baseball Ops Scott Harris wanting to build his own roster
evaluate the Tigers roster and farm system he inherited and hand pick the holdover players he keeps for his New Front Office and Team
pitches like a top of the rotation starter
Turbull took a no hitter into the 7th inning for the Phillies
There has never been any evidence that Turnbull had any problems in the Clubhouses in Alabama
Turbull pitched a no hitter for the Tigers
Turnbull was popular in the Clubhouses in Alabama and Detroit
See Tigers teammates celebrating with Turnbull after Turnbull clinches his not hitter in Detroit
There is a reason why Detroit would want to be rid of his attitude
You noticed the Philies didn’t want to resign him either
He doesn’t appear to get along with his teammates and he wears out his welcome
He’s barely seemed like a guy who just wants to beat you….unless it’s in the contract department
Never heard or read of any problem of Turnbull in the clubhouse
when he was sent to the minors while injured
It is the only incident I know of with Turnbull
It is not the only dispute between Harris and a player
Turnbull was starting and had a worse ERA than Maeda just had when the Tigers released him
Turnbull is a prima Donna who thinks Toledo is beneath him
worked and now is a mainstay in Tiger rotation
Turnbull’s reward for “taking one for the team” is to demote him to the minors
Blaming the player for a mistake Scott Harris made does not sit well with me
Maeda’s ERA 7.99 1.88 WHIP in ’25
Problem in ’23 was the Tigers did not give Turnbull the benefit of the doubt and did not ease him back into MLB coming off Tommy John surgery like is standard procedure for players coming off Tommy John surgery
Just what are you basing your bad opinion of Turnbull on
Turnbull got along fine with his Tigers teammates and had a lengthy stay in Detroit
Al Avila administration didn’t have any problem with Turnbull’s attitude
It should not be a problem going forward with Turnbull
he seems better suited to be the prime minister of the United Kingdom
Turbull’s reputation was fine when he was with Alabama and during most of his tenure with the Tigers
He can help you win some games but be ready for the negative side
@WellMeant – The negative side being public intoxication
How is public intoxication a negative?… Asking for a friend
I am pretty sure that there is a negative aspect
but frankly am rather hazy on the details at this point
I have some vague recollection of a ride on a stolen police horse that didn’t end all that well…
if a young pitcher working hard to make the majors and stay there gets hurt
if he pitches through injuries and gets hurt even worse than he is an idiot for taking one for the team and pitching through injury?
Can’t win with a perspective like that
How long does Max Scherzer continue dunking on MLB GM’s each winter
Good grief ….I suppose he still has a year with the Angels hidden in his bag deep if times call for it

The Toronto Blue Jays’ rotation depth has been patchwork all season
Ever since Max Scherzer left his Toronto debut with a re-injured thumb
the Blue Jays have rotated through fifth starters and long relievers
the Blue Jays signed right-handed pitchers Spencer Turnbull and José Ureña to major-league deals
General manager Ross Atkins teased the moves on Friday
saying some things were “in the works” to add rotation depth
but Turnbull was one of the top remaining pitchers left in free agency
He posted a 2.65 ERA in 17 appearances (seven starts) for the Phillies last year
Ureña pitched 109 innings of long relief and spot starts for the Rangers last year
He was designated for assignment after just three innings with the Mets this season
A new sweeper turned Turnbull back into a strikeout weapon in 2024
and Turnbull struck out 58 batters in 54.1 innings
The righty’s campaign ended in June when he was placed on the injured list with a right lat strain
It was his fifth time on the IL since 2021
While Turnbull and Ureña can pitch in relief
they’ll likely join the collection of rotation depth options the Blue Jays are collecting in Triple-A
Since Turnbull hasn’t pitched in game action yet this year
it may take time before he can join the MLB roster
If Toronto needs to dip further down the depth chart for starts
the two new additions could soon be options
The Blue Jays have leaned heavily on José Berríos
Chris Bassitt and Bowden Francis to carry the load as the team sorts through fifth starter troubles
Alongside the rest of Toronto’s rotation depth
Turnbull and Ureña should help ease the load at the top of the Blue Jays’ rotation
we’re in the time of year where a lot of injuries kind of pop up,” Bassitt said after his Friday start
“Just keeping us healthy is the number one thing.”

Spencer Pratt revealed that his infamous feud with his former Hills costar Lauren Conrad began differently than viewers may recall
Spencer Pratt knows what he did to land in Lauren Conrad’s bad graces
While The Hills viewers were led to believe a sex tape rumor cemented his status as the MTV reality series’ primary villain, Spencer alleged that the demise of her onscreen romance with Brody Jenner was the real catalyst of their feud
“Brody couldn’t fake-date L.C. anymore,” he said in an E! News exclusive preview clip from the May 6 episode of Amanda Hirsch's Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast
“He wanted to start getting some real clout
and then once the fake dating ended and he wasn’t down for that
Of course, that wing woman was Lauren’s then-BFF—and Spencer’s now-wife—Heidi Montag
who initially tried to maintain both relationships
the reality star said one fateful occasion marked a turning point for the fashion designer
“The final end game was—they didn’t show this—but she made Heidi go out with her on Valentine's Day when we were official,” he continued
“Wouldn't let her leave till like 4 a.m
They're f--king having breakfast pizza together and [Heidi’s] like
‘I gotta go back and see Spencer.’ And [Lauren] turned it into this big thing.”
So when Heidi moved out of the apartment she shared with the Laguna Beach alum in the season two finale
Spencer alleged the moment was meant to be much more conclusive
“[Lauren] thought that with Heidi getting in the U-Haul and leaving
she thought she got Heidi off the show,” he alleged
the couple—who wed in 2009 and share sons Gunner
2—did remain as part of the cast and opted to embrace their antagonistic personas
‘You better make them look like the worst people on the earth,’ which we are aware of,” he added

there's no good time to go through a slump
It's also true that a vast majority of young players go through early big-league issues
after several weeks or a little more than a year after debuting
Unfortunately for the Atlanta Braves
right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach is going through his first MLB rough patch when they desperately need him to be a stalwart in their rotation
That's what Schwellenbach was in March and early April
Schwellenbach didn't allow a runner to reach second base in his first two starts
he yielded only one run in his third outing
Schwellenbach has posted a 7.17 ERA with a 4.51 FIP
The right-hander has also allowed opposing hitters to bat .312 with a .559 slugging percentage in his last 21.1 innings
Chalk up the slump to Schwellenbach to being 24 years old with only 165 MLB innings
Braves pundits kept wondering whether the right-hander would hit a rough patch
Schwellenbach pitched 123.2 innings as a rookie and only had one instance of back-to-back starts where he gave up four or more runs in each outing
That's actually still the case this year
Schwellenbach has allowed six runs in two of his last four appearances
But the recent inconsistency should give the Braves less confidence with him on the mound going forward
That should be the case at least until he pulls himself out of this funk
The Braves have won just one of the last four games in which he started
Schwellenbach should eventually pull himself out of this slump
the Braves can't really count on him to win a game all by himself
While Atlanta's offense has been better since the first week of the season
it's suddenly slumping again with a three-game losing streak entering Sunday night
Schwellenbach had arguably the worst outing of his career Saturday
It was certainly his shortest outing of the season at 3.2 innings
He repeatedly gave up hard contract to the tough Los Angeles Dodgers lineup
Still trying to climb their way back to .500
the Braves are hoping Schwellenbach's first MLB rough patch doesn't last much longer
With Spencer Strider and Reynaldo López out with injuries
the Braves need Schwellenbach to be the reliable starter he was last year and to begin this season

whose research focuses on why wild pollinators are critical for a healthy food system and what we can do to support them, the Three-Minute Thesis contest was a rehearsal of what will be a career-long need to convey to the public the importance of her research
Spencer won First Place in the Three-minute Thesis contest during UVM's Research Week.
Wild pollinators include thousands of species of bees and other insects
not honeybees. Honeybees are domesticated
and they usually get the bulk of the attention in the "save the bees" movement
there are thousands of species of wild bees as well as other native pollinators
There are over 350 wild bees in Vermont. Her goal is to ensure the public understands their critical ecological role and to encourage the actions needed for wild pollinator conservation
my work has three aspects: The first study looks at how warming temperatures are impacting the wild bees that pollinate our blueberry crops
We’re thinking about how that plant-pollinator relationship could be at risk as temperatures are warming
"My second study looks at how to manage blueberry farms for wild bees while reducing damage from an invasive fruit fly pest
we want to encourage the good bugs and not the bad ones
We have a big issue with this invasive fruit fly – the spotted wing drosophila -- in Vermont.
I'm working with Shelburne Farms to design educational programs all about wild pollinators that hopefully spark people to go home and take action to protect them
That's what we really need: a greater movement of people taking action in their own backyards
That's the power of pollinators compared to
we can do something tangible in our yards to help them
With penguins or many other endangered species
it's much harder to go home and do something to help conserve them."
Spencer's interest in pollinators originated during a summer break from her undergraduate studies when she worked on a farm in France that kept honeybees
"I got really captivated thinking about bees
When she returned to Tufts University in Boston that fall
she discovered a group called the Tufts Pollinator Initiative (TPI)
"They were really focused on supporting wild pollinators in the city
specifically how to create biodiversity oases on our urban Tufts campus
I joined TPI and also a research lab at Tufts focused on insect conservation
I dove right in." She began teaching in TPI’s campus gardens and researching wild bees herself
She ended up doing her senior thesis about the role of wild bees in coffee production in Costa Rica.
pointing out the danger of multiple stressors to wild bee populations.
"We industrially rear our honeybees because we've eliminated most habitat for wild bees
we must bring in a honeybee hive if we want crop pollination on large-scale farms
we don't really have that issue in Vermont because we still have a lot of natural areas for the wild bees to call home
so the bees must be domesticated in hives and brought to farms," explains Spencer
Many Vermont fruit and vegetable crops depend largely on wild bees as pollinators
and past research at UVM has shown that native bees can often outperform honeybees too.
"In blueberries, for instance, we get both higher quality and quantity of fruit when it is pollinated by a wild bee
than when that same flower is pollinated by a honeybee
There are also specialist bees that pollinate specific plants
Bringing in honeybees is an additional cost and an added labor task for farmers
there's an incentive for farmers to support wild bees because they can get this service for free and also get a higher fruit yield in many cases," she adds
Farmers and gardeners can support wild pollinators by eliminating pesticides
Vermont became the second state in the nation to pass a law eliminating seeds treated with the class of pollinator-harming pesticides called neonicotinoids
The second way to support wild pollinators is to provide them habitat by adding more native plants to the landscape.
Spencer describes the need for multiple seasons of blooms among those native plants
"We have our earliest spring bees out right now starting in April
and we'll have bees out all the way until frost
Different bees will come out at different times of the season
and so we need to make sure that the native plant habitat provides abundant pollen and nectar – their food – throughout the entire growing season
just planting sunflowers that bloom in the fall isn't enough."
Spencer is a GUND Institute Graduate Fellow, whose summer research is being supported by a $2000 research grant that she’ll use towards taking a bee identification course to improve her ability to teach others more identification skills. She was also recently awarded a grant from the One Hive Foundation in collaboration with staff at Shelburne Farms to support her work on a pollinator plan at Shelburne Farms
Her work there will focus on wild pollinator protection with an emphasis on visitor education
This will be achieved through the development of interactive
action-oriented educational programs that engage farm visitors in learning about pollinators and inspiring conservation action at home; an evaluation of the effectiveness of educational programming and conservation impact; the creation of a shareable library of pollinator resources for use by Shelburne Farms
helping to ensure the sustainability of educational efforts beyond the initial project period; and staff training on the fundamentals of pollinator biology and conservation.
she hopes to remain in Vermont/New England
"There's so much energy in Vermont about native plants
and it feels like a really great place to keep doing this work." But she'd also love to educate the public so that one day she's out of a job
"having everybody know the importance of wild pollinators and to be able to take meaningful conservation actions is my ultimate dream."

A senior UK minister [this week] will warn businesses to protect themselves against cyber threats after a spate of attacks on retailers including Marks & Spencer Group Plc
“These attacks need to be a wake-up call for every business in the UK,” Cabinet Office Minister Pat McFadden
will say in a speech at the CyberUK conference in Manchester next week
according to remarks released by his department
(Editor’s note: This Bloomberg article was originally published on Friday
so the McFadden speech will take place this week)
McFadden on Friday led a briefing with security officials including Richard Horne
chief of the National Cyber Security Centre
in the wake of hacks on M&S and the supermarket chain Co-op
A ransomware attack was the cause of the disruption at M&S
with hackers using a potent kind of malware to lock down some of the British retailer’s systems and render them inaccessible

“In a world where the cyber criminals targeting us are relentless in their pursuit of profit
with attempts being made every hour of every day
companies must treat cyber security as an absolute priority,” McFadden will say next week
The minister will announce further steps the government is taking to help protect businesses against hacking attempts
including through the Cyber Resilience Bill
As part of that legislation ministers will require 1,000 companies providing IT services to critical national infrastructure to shore up their cyber defenses
The NCSC also urged businesses to follow advice on its website about the steps they should be taking to ensure they minimize the risks of hacks

a statue of the Carlo Pedersoli—also known as Bud Spencer—stands proudly and majestically
The former professional swimmer and water polo player became world-famous as an actor
playing the tough-but-good guy in action-comedy movies from the 1960s through the 1980s
Bud Spencer gained great popularity among Hungarians, providing heart-warming memories and good laughs to young and old. Generations grew up on his movies, which are played frequently on various TV channels to this day. As a sign of nationwide respect, this 2.4-meter tall, 500-kilogram heavy, bronze statue was raised in Budapest
The statue can be found next to the Corvin Plaza
surrounded by the nicest bars and restaurants in the city
The statue was offered to the city by sculptor Szandra Tasnádi
The Pedersoli family attended the emotional ceremony
On the basis of the statue you will find Terence Hill's quote "Mi sohasem veszekedtünk," which means
Bud Spencer’s old friend and partner actor
who later also visited the statue in person
The statue is not the only thing that Hungarians established to pay their respects to Pedersoli
there is also a public park which a political party called Two-Tailed Dog Party unofficially named "Bud Spencer Park." They also inagurated a memorial plaque commemorating the actor
the only hill in this park has been also named "Terence Hill." In addition to the statue
there is also a Bud Spencer mural in Budapest painted by graffiti artist TakerOne

the Harvard Forest Fisher Museum will premiere “Views from a Woodlot,” a documentary by independent filmmaker Chris Hardee
The 18-minute film follows Bruce Spencer of Leverett
a retired chief forester of the Quabbin Reservoir
The documentary offers a glimpse into Spencer’s decades of experience and the ongoing stewardship of his own 150-acre woodlot
forest management isn’t just about cutting trees
it’s about cultivating a healthy and sustainable ecosystem
one of his mentors at the Quabbin gave him crucial advice on managing the forests
suggesting he avoid using logging machines
“We (the workers at the Quabbin) don’t need the money.”
Spencer has carried this mantra throughout his career
always prioritizing the forest’s well-being over profit
His connection to forestry began in childhood
“I have been involved with forests since I was a little boy,” he said
This lifelong passion for forestry grew naturally
leading him to a degree in forestry at UMass Amherst and eventually a career at the Quabbin Reservoir
“Working in the finest water supply system
was quite a treat and I felt very fortunate to be a part of it,” Spencer said
“I followed a forester named Fred Hunt who had written the first management plan,” Spencer shared
“He had the same goals that the watershed people had and I was lucky in many accounts to be there.”
Spencer added that others’ foundational work shaped his own approach
centers around low-impact practices that minimize damage to the land
This contrasts with modern industrial logging
which often relies on heavy machinery and clear-cutting
“Heavy machinery can damage the fungal networks that connect trees and allow nutrients to flow,” he explained
including how water moves through soil into our streams.”
After retiring from his chief forester role
Spencer turned his attention to his own 150-acre woodlot that he purchased in 1973
where he applied the same forestry philosophy
He shared how he and his brother managed the property together for the last 15 years
we were just taking the worst trees and leaving the best,” he said
Spencer is in the process of transitioning the property to the Town of Leverett as a gift
ensuring that it remains a public resource for people to fish
The making of “Views from a Woodlot” was both a personal and collaborative process
After interviewing Spencer for a previous project
the film “Burned,” filmmaker Chris Hardee found himself being drawn to his story
“I thought there might be something interesting here
can I follow you around the woodlot?” Hardee recalled
following Spencer through different seasons
stopping to discuss the reasoning behind his decisions
“His way of working in the woods is such a light touch
I would categorize it with a label of low-impact forestry
“You don’t go into the woods with heavy equipment
which is the way he managed the Quabbin,” he added
“There are pretty destructive ramifications when you cut trees that way and when you cut them all.”
In a world grappling with climate change and other ecological issues
the message of the documentary is clear – sustainable forestry is more important than ever
“There’s a rationale that forest professionals sometimes use that other people have poked holes in,” Hardee said
“Bruce appreciates and sees the forest as an entity and respects how it works
He knows what you need to do to have a healthy forest and not destroy it
Hardee hopes the film will encourage conversations about how the public values and manages forests
let’s look at all the assumptions we’ve made in the past and let’s talk about it,” he said
both Spencer and Hardee will offer remarks and answer questions
DVDs of the film will be available for sale

As the newly appointed president of Limelight Records
Spencer hopes to give back to the organization that drew her to Elon University
As she walked through the main hallway in Arts West on her first tour of Elon
a poster grabbed Maya Spencer’s ’27 attention
It advertised a best-of album created by Limelight Records
an organization Spencer was unfamiliar with
the studio art professor who was showing her around told her it was Elon’s student-run record label
Now a music production & recording arts major with a production concentration
Spencer said learning about Limelight from that poster ended up being one of the biggest reasons she decided to come to Elon
“I knew that I wanted to study music in a program that was focused on production and not classical music,” Spencer said
Spencer initially joined Limelight as an artist during her first-year at Elon
but she wasn’t as involved in the organization until the beginning of this year
when she felt the need to participate in a way that would help her reach her professional goals
“I knew that the artist track wasn’t exactly for me,” Spencer said
“It’s not necessarily the thing I’m most passionate about
but leadership is something that I’ve enjoyed for a really long time.”
Spencer was excited to learn more about the music business through Limelight and said her experience has been “educational and experimental.”
as she prepares to step up as president of the organization
her biggest goals are to get Limelight more involved on campus and to focus on artist development
Spencer hopes that through events like showcases and festivals on campus
students and other members of the community can appreciate the work of the student musicians
Spencer is also dedicated to making sure artists within Limelight feel that their needs are being met by the organization
“I want to put more focus on artist development
so that they feel supported and feel like they have a place in Limelight and structure to how they want to do things,” Spencer said
Spencer said she can now give Limelight and its artists the spotlight they deserve
“Making sure that [Limelight] reaches as many people as possible
whether they want to see more music or make music
that’s really what it’s all about to me,” Spencer said

Torkelson matches 2024 HR total in 34th game: 'This is who I am'May 4th
ANAHEIM -- Not far down the road from Angel Stadium is Cal State Fullerton and Goodwin Field, home of the four-time College World Series champion Titans. Spencer Torkelson knows it well; he hit his final college home run there -- or more accurately
The ball left Goodwin Field and landed on a street beyond left-center field
"It might have taken a bounce or two,” Torkelson joked Saturday afternoon
No one could’ve imagined at the time it could’ve been his final homer as an Arizona State Sun Devil
but the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the college season about a week later
Torkelson has generally hit well in Southern California
He homered in back-to-back games at USC in 2019
and fondly remembers a tape-measure shot at Long Beach State as part of a two-homer game during his record-setting freshman season in 2018
So maybe it was fitting that Torkelson has homered twice in three nights at Angel Stadium to reach a different personal milestone
When he connected with a curveball at the top of the strike zone and clubbed it deep down the left-field line for his 10th long ball in the eighth inning on Saturday night
he not only broke up Kyle Hendricks’ shutout bid
he reached double digits in home runs five weeks into the season
Torkelson needed just 34 games this season to match his home-run total from 92 games last year
It’s just another step toward putting last season behind him
"Definitely a lot of season left to go,” Torkelson said after the Tigers’ 5-2 loss
This version of Torkelson is a dangerous hitter
And he’s proving to be adept at adjusting to how he’s being pitched
Both of Torkelson’s home runs this series have come on breaking pitches. He went opposite field on a full-count slider from lefty Garrett McDaniels in Thursday’s series opener to cap the Tigers’ 10-4 victory
he almost had to reach out of the strike zone to connect with Hendricks’ curveball as it dropped in
but he had enough strength to connect with an exit velocity of 104.5 mph
"I just finally really trusted my approach today of hitting the ball the other way,” Torkelson said
“and it allowed me to see all of his pitches
I saw all of his pitches the first two at-bats and he just left that one up
That ability to gauge a pitcher as a game goes along and strike late has quietly become a strength for him
Torkelson entered Saturday with a 1.088 OPS in 31 at-bats from the seventh inning on
While six of his 10 home runs have come against starting pitchers
while half of his homers last year came off starting pitchers
should come in handy as the season goes along and scouting reports on him evolve
While Torkelson’s hot start has cooled a bit over the last couple of weeks
he continues to do damage and provide run production
keeping him a regular presence in the middle of manager A.J
Sign up to receive our daily Morning Lineup to stay in the know about the latest trending topics around Major League Baseball
Torkelson rates in the 74th percentile among Major League hitters with a 23.2 percent chase rate
the same rate he had last year according to Statcast
as is his contact rate on pitches in the zone
He’s pulling the ball in the air at a rate of 32.9 percent
His fly-ball rate in general is up to a career-high 42.7 percent
Torkelson’s home run Saturday sparked a rally that eventually led to closer Kenley Jansen’s appearance in the ninth inning for a save
extending the Angels' bullpen heading into Sunday’s series finale
those will be Torkelson’s last swings for the season in Southern California -- in what has been friendly territory for him

Rough stretch a first for Schwellenbach after smooth debut seasonMay 4th
everything fell into place really well,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said
“He’s learning what this thing is all about and how to make adjustments and how to get through adversities
He’s just experiencing some rough sledding.”
Schwellenbach experienced his first big league Spring Training this year
and he’s just a month into what would be his first full season as a Major Leaguer
including the one presented to him Saturday
six-minute rain delay before throwing the game’s first pitch at 10:21 p.m
Schwellenbach walked off the mound with a disgusted look on his face
He allowed six runs and eight hits over a career-low 3 2/3 innings
This marked the third time he has surrendered a career-high six runs
Two of those three occasions have occurred within his past four starts
“I think the biggest thing is I’m just not hitting spots like I’m used to,” Schwellenbach said
Or if it’s a two-strike count and I’ve got to bury the slider
There’s a good chance this is just a rough stretch for a relatively inexperienced young pitcher
But the timing hasn’t been great for the Braves
who have lost three straight since pulling within one game of .500 by winning nine of 11
Chris Sale has turned things around in his past two starts
but Atlanta’s injury-depleted rotation is without both Spencer Strider (right hamstring strain) and Reynaldo López (right shoulder inflammation)
Schwellenbach appeared primed to continue stabilizing the rotation when he allowed just one run over his first three starts (20 innings) of this season
He exited his April 10 start against the Phillies with a 2.94 ERA through his first 24 career starts
But the 24-year-old hurler has posted a 7.17 ERA in his past four starts
He has allowed at least six hits in each of these outings
This is something he did in just seven of 21 outings last year
like the infield single from Teoscar Hernández that Braves left-handed reliever Aaron Bummer fumbled before airmailing a throw to catcher Sean Murphy in the Dodgers’ four-run fourth
This allowed Freddie Freeman to score the last of the runs charged to Schwellenbach
But there wasn’t anything fluky about the Dodgers’ production against Schwellenbach
Nine of the balls they put in play against the Braves hurler had an exit velocity of at least 99 mph
Opponents have put at least seven balls in play at 99-plus mph in each of Schwellenbach’s past four starts
This occurred in just four of the hurler’s first 24 starts
“The biggest thing is how you’re going to respond,” Schwellenbach said
“I feel like I come in here every day with a positive attitude and a smile on my face
Schwellenbach spent last year becoming one of nine pitchers since 1995 to post a 3.35 ERA or better over 20-plus starts during a debut season that was preceded by the pitcher totaling 110 innings or fewer in the Minors
Paul Skenes (2024) and Alek Manoah (‘21) were the only other members of this list who hadn’t had previous international professional experience
But to understand Schwellenbach’s inexperience
it must be remembered he didn’t pitch at the college level until ‘21
when he served as the University of Nebraska’s shortstop and closer
The Braves drafted him that year knowing he would miss ‘22 while recovering from Tommy John surgery
Schwellenbach introduced himself to a starting role in 2023
and made just two starts above the High-A level before making his MLB debut last year

Associate Professor Spencer Barnes and his cohort of the Provost Distinguished Faculty Leaders (PDFL) Program closed out their two-year terms April 17 at the PDFL Spring Symposium
was created to identify issues of pressing faculty needs and to generate solutions to those identified problems
The PDFL Selection Committee chose five faculty members
The fellows received mentoring from the Office of the Provost
leadership development support through monthly trainings and discussions
They also participated in two intensive development programs: the ACC Academic Leadership Network and the FastTrack Leadership Boot Camp
the five faculty members presented their capstone leadership projects
each contributing to faculty support and success at Carolina
An Analysis of the Data Associated with APT Committee Voting Items from 2022-25
promotion and tenure process is a vital component of the faculty experience at Carolina
It rewards faculty for their accomplishments and their contributions to the academy
Barnes’ project offers a glimpse into how the process unfolds and maintains its cadence via an exploration of University data from 2022 to the present
An understanding of the process will help to identify current trends

Faculty Resource Groups: A Collaborative Model for Faculty Well-Being and Development
Albritton is developing faculty resource groups for Carolina
faculty-led communities are designed to enhance well-being that will foster collaboration and support professional growth
Rooted in the faculty learning community model
the groups will be flexible and responsive to faculty needs
This initiative addresses challenges such as burnout and isolation by creating structured opportunities for connection and shared learning
Boggess proposed and is working on the creation of a faculty thrive hub that will support faculty happiness by tracking satisfaction and timeliness of promotion
These two elements are key to faculty success
according to research and evaluations of both national data and published literature
The Faculty Thrive Hub will be administered by the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment and the provost’s Office of Faculty Affairs and will be used to monitor faculty success
Garcia and Register-Mihalik know mentoring is a powerful tool
but it’s not something a typical faculty member is trained in
they sought a path to making mentoring easier by bringing together key resources and turning them into a coherent and practical campus-wide toolkit
Working collaboratively with the faculty affairs office
the Center for Faculty Excellence and a dedicated advisory board
they created a toolkit that addresses needs at the University
providing efficient tools to develop the talent at Carolina and foster stronger contributions to innovation and science
The next PDFL cohort for 2025-27 was announced during the PDFL Symposium:
BRIDGEWATER – It may be time for Spencer Jones to start looking for apartments in Scranton
The 23-year-old Somerset outfielder is tied for the Double-A lead with seven home runs and striking out a bit less as he continues to climb the Yankees farm system
Now knocking on the door of his first promotion to Triple-A Scranton
Jones has impressed with his work ethic and willingness to adapt
Although his strikeout rate remains relatively high at 34.8 percent
it’s an improvement from the pace of his system-record 200-strikeout campaign in 2024
and so far has worked really hard on being consistent and trying to put the barrel on the ball to hit pitches in the zone,” said Patriots manager Raul Dominguez
more mature with what he’s doing in the cage to prepare better
More: All eyes on top Yankees prospect beginning 2025 season with Double-A Somerset
the 25th pick in the 2022 MLB Draft from Vanderbilt
soared through the system to Double-A in late August of the following year but has stalled a bit since
As Somerset began a two-week road trip Tuesday
he was hitting .256 with 27 home runs and 100 RBI in 162 games with the Patriots
235-pounder is hitting a homer every 12.71 plate appearances
albeit in a significantly smaller sample size
Jones has not spoken to reporters since Somerset’s pre-season media day
but Dominguez was confident that his slugger will be able to maintain this level of consistency moving forward
and they tried to work so hard with him in spring training
trying to put that plan together with him,” he said
It’s good when the players are getting that result
they’re going to trust in it and keep going … he’s just got to stay consistent.”

While Carbery kept the focus on the team's success as Washington moves on to the second round for the first time since 2018
the Capitals announced exciting news about their head coach on May 2.
"Congratulations to head coach Spencer Carbery on being named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award!"
The Jack Adams Award honors the head coach that is "adjudged to have contributed the most to his team's success," as defined by the NHL. Carbery is one of three nominees, including Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel and Martin St
After wild-carding into the playoffs and getting eliminated in the first round last season
the Capitals became the first team to clinch a playoff berth and the runner-up to win the President's Trophy
he'll become the fourth head coach in Capitals history to do so after Barry Trotz (2015-16)
and starting pitcher Spencer Strider are both slowly working their way back from their respective injuries
No timetables have been determined for either player
but both are at work getting back to health
Acuña is down at the complex is North Port
That was the plan following good reports from the physicians out in Los Angeles
"Just doing the drills and strengthening exercises and running around and all that," Braves manager Brian Snitker said
Acuña has been hitting in live batting practice but was only recently greenlit to start running. Once he's considered enough up to strength, he can get a rehab assignment planned out. He continues to recover from the second ACL injury of his career. This time, it's in his left knee. He is starting the season on the 10-day injured list
Strider is currently playing catch and still getting treatment
It's all flat-ground tossing right now
Snitker said he wasn't sure yet if he would return straight to the Braves or go through another rehab assignment
"He's just playing catch," Snitker said
Strider made one start following his return from recovering from UCL surgery
allowing two runs on five hits and a walk against the Toronto Blue Jays
he went down with a Grade 1 hamstring injury
He was doing nothing out of the ordinary when the injury happened
Alex Verdugo and Eli White have proven to be suitable to man the corners for now
One of them will have to move to make room for Acuña
White has experience as a shortstop and could shift to getting more playoff there in theory
The starting rotation has some bright spots but could still use a healthy Strider AJ Smith-Shawver has returned to the active roster
and Bryce Elder and Chris Sale have looked better in their last couple starts
Reynaldo López could be out for the rest of the season
Ian Anderson could eventually be given another shot after he gets stretched out more and further works on his command in Triple-A
HARRISON SMAJOVITS
All three of those guys are still on the Saints' roster but who will win the starting job
A lot depends on Derek Carr's availability in 2025
it feels as though it could be Shough's job to lose
was probably the frontrunner to start at quarterback for New Orleans if Carr was unable to play
Rattler started six games for the Saints as a rookie and
was supposed to be a much higher draft pick until things spiraled out of control for him at Oklahoma
Shough's presence already made things more difficult for Rattler to win the starting gig. If you're someone who takes stock in future awards, the Offensive Rookie of the Year odds will really make it seem as though Rattler's days as a starter are numbered. Ben Solak of ESPN gave Shough the third-best odds of winning the award
Solak's OROY rankings include Cam Ward first
Solak noted that he placed Shough above first-round pick Jaxson Dart because of Shough likely having an opportunity to play sooner than the Giants quarterback
Being a quarterback already puts Shough in a better spot to win the award but it'll be tough to pry it away from Ward or Jeanty if either of those guys put together amazing seasons
Shough would have to play lights out and likely lead the Saints to a playoff berth if he were to truly be in the running
Saints fans don't care about all of that pomp and circumstance though
Fans just want to see Shough develop into a solid quarterback so that this team can stop floundering and start competing again
Shough is the beginning of that taking place for the New Orleans Saints

The Tigers have had their first series win against the Angels since 2011 in Anaheim (don’t quote me on that but it SOUNDS right)
but there’s still news to give you from the weekend
It’s nothing personal at the end of the day
I think he’s a really good baseball player
and I think it brings out the best in everybody
I think he understands that it wasn’t personal
I probably should be a little bit smarter.”

USA Wrestling announced its 2024 Athlete and Coach of the Year award winners during the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Wrestling at Penn State, April 19-20. We have posted the winners of these awards this week, one day for each Olympic discipline. Greco-Roman awards were announced Wednesday, women’s freestyle on Thursday and men’s freestyle today.
Spencer Lee and David Taylor named co-winners of 2024 John Smith Award winner, as USA Wrestling’s Men’s Freestyle Wrestlers of the Year
Spencer Lee (Iowa City, Iowa/Titan Mercury WC/Hawkeye WC) and David Taylor (Stillwater, Okla./Cowboy RTC) has been named the co-winners of the 2024 John Smith Award as the Freestyle Wrestlers of the Year by USA Wrestling.
The award is named in honor of two-time Olympic champion and four-time World champion John Smith.
This is the second time that Taylor has won this prestigious award, also receiving it in 2022. It is the first time that Lee has won this award.
Lee finished off a tremendous season by winning a silver medal at 57 kg at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France in August. He powered to three straight wins to reach the finals, beating Wanhao Zou of China in the preliminaries, 3-2, then claiming two straight technical fall victories over Bekzat Almaz Uulu of Kyrgyzstan in the quarterfinals and Gulomjon Abdullaev of Uzbekistan in the semifinals. In the finals, he was edged by 2018 World champion Rei Higuchi of Japan, 4-2
He qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team with a victory at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials at Penn State in April. Lee advanced to the finals with victories over Nico Megaludis, 8-0 and Zane Richards, 5-3. In the Championship Series, he swept 2021 World champion and 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Thomas Gilman in two straight matches, winning the first match 6-3, then scoring a fall in 5:58 in the second match.
Lee qualified himself and the United States for the Paris Games at the World Olympic Qualifier in Istanbul, Turkey in May. He won four straight matches, including three by technical fall, to earn the berth. His 10-0 technical fall victory over Rakhat Kalzhan of Kazakhstan in the Olympic Games qualifying match punched his ticket to Paris.
He also won a 2024 Senior Pan American Championships gold medal in February, winning all three matches by technical fall, including a 12-2 victory over Pedro Mejias Rodriguez in the finals.
Lee was a three-time NCAA Div. I champion for Iowa (2018, 2019, 2021) and a five-time All-American. He won two Dan Hodge Trophies as the nation’s best college wrestler while competing for the Hawkeyes. He was dominant as an age-group wrestler, winning three career World titles, a U17 World gold in 2014, and U20 World golds in 2015 and 2016. A native of Murrysville, Pa., Lee was a three-time Pennsylvania state champion for Franklin Regional High School.
He qualified for the U.S. World team at 92 kg with a victory at the Senior World Team Trials in Omaha, Nebraska in September. Taylor powered through the Challenge Tournament with four victories, stopping Aiden Brenot, Marcus Coleman, Michael Macchiavello and Trent Hidlay. He swept the best-of-three Championship Series over 2023 World bronze medalist Zahid Valencia, winning 3-3 and by pin in 2:49.
In April, Taylor placed second at 86 kg at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, dropping two straight matches in the best-of-three Championship Series to Aaron Brooks.
Taylor was a two-time NCAA champion and four-time NCAA finalist for Penn State. He was the winner of the Dan Hodge Trophy twice as the nation’s best college wrestler. Taylor won a bronze medal at the 2013 University World Games. A native of St. Paris, Ohio, Taylor claimed four Ohio state titles for Graham High School.
In May, Taylor was named as the head coach at Oklahoma State, succeeding the great John Smith at this historic wrestling powerhouse. In addition to leading the Cowboys in NCAA competion, he is also a coach with the Cowboy RTC program.

Casey Cunningham named 2024 Terry McCann Award winner as USA Wrestling Men’s Freestyle Coach of the Year
Casey Cunningham (State College, Pa./Nittany Lion WC) has been named the winner of the 2024 Terry McCann Men's Freestyle Coach of the Year by USA Wrestling. This is the third time Cunningham has won this prestigious honor.
This award is named in honor of Terry McCann, a long-time coach with the Mayor Daley Wrestling Club. McCann was a 1960 Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling, and later served as a president of USA Wrestling and a Vice-President of the United World Wrestling (then FILA) Bureau.
Cunningham has served as the head assistant coach at Penn State University since 2009, working with head coach Cael Sanderson and his staff. In that span, Penn State has won 12 NCAA team championships and has placed numerous individual Nittany Lion wrestlers on the top of the podium at the national championships.
Penn State won the 2024 NCAA Div. I team title with four individual champions, Levi Haines (157), Carter Starocci (174), Aaron Brooks (197) and Greg Kerkvliet (285). Starocci and Brooks won their fourth career NCAA titles. PSU had a total of eight All-Americans, and scored 172 points, a full 100 points ahead of runner-up Cornell with 72.5 points.
He also coaches with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club, which is Penn State’s Regional Training Center. The Nittany Lion WC is among the most successful RTCs in the nation, producing prolific freestyle wrestlers on the Senior and age-group levels.
At the Summer Olympic Games, two Nittany Lion WC athletes claimed bronze medals, Kyle Dake and Aaron Brooks. For Dake, it was a second career Olympic medal, while Brooks won his first Olympic medal. Kyle Snyder placed fifth, while Zain Retherford was eighth.
He also coached numerous athletes to age-group team berths and national medals in freestyle. Nittany Lion WC athletes who won age-group World medals in 2024 included Luke Lilledahl (U20 gold, 57 kg), Zack Ryder (U20 silver, 79 kg), Josh Barr (U20 silver, 86 kg) and Mitchell Mesenbrink (U23 bronze, 74 kg).
The Nittany Lion WC has produced numerous Senior Freestyle National Team members during Cunningham’s tenure going back to Jake Varner, a 2012 Olympic champion and World medalist, who is now a coach with the Nittany Lion WC. A number of wrestlers who compete internationally for other nations also have trained with the Nittany Lion WC, including Olympic and World Team members.
Prior to joining the staff at Penn State, Cunningham worked with Cael Sanderson as his head assistant coach at Iowa State. Cunningham began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater Central Michigan and spent time as an assistant coach there.
Cunningham recorded a successful freestyle career before joining the coaching ranks. He was a U.S. Olympic Training Center resident athlete. Cunningham was a two-time U.S. Open runner-up and finished second in the World Team Trials twice. In 2008, he won a Pan-American Championship gold medal.
In college, Cunningham was one of Central Michigan’s all-time greats. He won a 1999 NCAA championship for the Chippewas to become the school’s first Div. 1 national champion. He finished NCAA runner-up the year before. Cunningham is originally from Middleton, Michigan.

Strider strains hamstring after playing catch; timetable for return TBDApril 22nd
ATLANTA -- Spencer Strider is back on the injured list, less than a week after he made his much-anticipated return from elbow surgery
Strider strained his right hamstring while playing catch on Monday afternoon at Truist Park
He was placed on the 15-day IL after informing the Braves he would be unable to make his scheduled start against the Cardinals on Tuesday
A timetable for Strider's return will be determined over the next couple of weeks
“It was just one of those freak things,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said
“You can do everything right and still have something happen
Snitker learned of the injury as he crossed paths with Strider as the pitcher was coming back to the clubhouse after his ill-fated throwing session
It wasn’t like the hurler slipped or got a cleat stuck in the ground
“He was just getting a feel for his arm the day before he pitches,” Snitker said
“It wasn’t anything accelerated or strenuous.”
who put Strider back in the rotation last week
a little more than a year after his right ulnar collateral ligament was repaired by the insertion of an internal brace
The right-hander allowed two runs over five innings on Wednesday in Toronto and was looking forward to making this season’s first home start on Tuesday
The Braves will get a better feel for the severity of Strider’s ailment over the next few days
Snitker wasn’t aware of the results of an MRI exam completed Monday evening
But given he just returned from a long rehab process
they will likely take a cautious approach regarding his return
“You hate it for the guy with everything he has been through,” Braves third baseman Austin Riley said
“With an arm injury and being out that long
After Strider made just one healthy start in 2024, the Braves benefited from the great seasons produced by 2024 National League Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale and 2024 All-Star Reynaldo López
But this year has been far different for both hurlers
Sale has a 6.17 ERA through five starts and López made just one start before undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder
López will likely be sidelined until at least late August
and it’s unclear whether he would return as a starter or reliever
With Strider sidelined, the Braves will use an opener for Tuesday’s game. The opener could be Michael Petersen, a right-handed reliever who was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett early Monday evening to take Strider’s roster spot. Another option would be Scott Blewett
a reliever who was acquired from the Orioles for cash considerations on Sunday
AJ Smith-Shawver started for Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday
so he wouldn’t be available before Wednesday

When Andrew Spencer and SuLing Llanes-Trexler met
The fourth-year students at the University of Virginia met while working in the UVA Library’s Digital Production Group
a computer science major from Chesterfield
“I thought he was really quiet and maybe a little mean
just because sometimes he’s very brief with what he says,” Llanes-Trexler said
Llanes-Trexler and Spencer pose for a photo outside Shannon Library
When they first met in the library’s basement
Each of them discovered their first impressions were wrong: “He ended up being very funny,” Llanes-Trexler
Spencer enrolled at the University because it offered him the best financial aid
knew she wanted to go to UVA since she was in second grade
“I went to a UVA basketball game against Georgia Tech
She started her UVA journey at UVA’s College at Wise before transferring to the University in Charlottesville
The College at Wise allows students with 30 credit hours and a GPA of 3.0 or higher to transfer directly to UVA without filling out a separate application
she started working in the Digital Production Group
where Spencer was already a student supervisor

She and Spencer formed a friendship over the iPhone app GamePigeon
which lets users play games like poker and pool through the messaging platform.
so it stopped being fun for her,” Spencer said
But their friendship carries into the offline world
Spencer and Llanes-Trexler have bonded over music
Llanes-Trexler had never been to a concert
Llanes-Trexler suggested they go see the rapper Future together in Washington
we paid way too much money for it,” Llanes-Trexler said
it didn’t hinder their friendship too much – maybe because a few weeks later
they went to see Childish Gambino and Tyler
They still regularly go to concerts together and have picked up a karaoke habit along the way
Llanes Trexler says she usually beats Spencer when they play basketball
At the urging of a coworker in the Digital Production Group
Llanes-Trexler and Spencer merely watched.
“I’m not really the type of person to go up on stage,” Spencer said
Spencer put his name on the list to perform
“One of the earliest ones I can remember doing is ‘Gold Digger’ (by Kanye West),” Spencer said
because people will start singing along with you.”
Spencer performs songs by rappers like Kendrick Lamar
Spencer introduced her to another new activity: skateboarding
It did not go over as well as live music did
“I can stand on it and go forward a little bit,” Llanes-Trexler said.
There’s at least one area where she exceeds Spencer.
but I definitely win at basketball,” she said
The pair has come a long way from that introduction in the Digital Production Group in the basement of Shannon Library
they even traveled to Ohio to see the total solar eclipse
who definitely has a sarcastic side,” Spencer said with a smile
he’s very easy-going,” Llanes-Trexler said
“He’s just a great person to spend time with.”
