The Rams and quarterback Matthew Stafford agreed to continue their partnership for 2025 months ago
details are finally emerging of Stafford’s renegotiated contract
Stafford will earn $44 million in the coming season
with $4 million already paid and the remaining $40 million fully guaranteed
is set to continue going year-to-year with Los Angeles
But Rapoport notes that if the quarterback is on the roster at the start of free agency in 2026
Where Stafford was previously set to make $58 million in 2025 and 2026
Stafford completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 3,762 yards with 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions
He then completed 63.4 percent of his throws for 533 yards with four touchdowns and no picks in two postseason games

according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport
The contract can pay Stafford up to $84 million and includes $40 million guaranteed
But the 37-year-old has clearly found a comfort zone in Southern California
and the Rams are coming off a second straight playoff appearance
Their 2025 outlook is certainly brighter than that of Las Vegas or New York
keeping Stafford bought the front office more time to survey possible succession plans
having the Atlanta Falcons' 2026 first-rounder
It won't come as a shock if the Rams ultimately let Stafford go next offseason and hand the baton off to a younger signal-caller
Matthew Stafford isn't ready to close the book on his Hollywood career just yet
The Los Angeles Rams quarterback agreed to a new deal at the NFL combine that would keep him in the City of Angels
During the combine, it was reported that Tom Brady
was recruiting Stafford to join the silver-and-black
Stafford was reportedly seeking $50 million a year, according to NFL Network's Peter Schrager
Now they keep Stafford in the fold to make another run in 2025
Here's how much it'll cost the Rams to keep the quarterback in town
Stafford agreed to a two-year, $84 million deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport
It represents an increase from the two-year
$58 million he had left on the previous contract
The quarterback is set to earn $44 million this season
He's already been paid $4 million and the remaining $40 million is fully guaranteed
Stafford would earn $40 million next season if he remains on the Rams' roster at the start of free agency
With the new deal, Stafford is the NFL's 15th highest-paid quarterback in terms of average annual value (AAV), according to OverTheCap
we know a bit more about what his new contract looks like
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Stafford's pact with the Rams will see him earn $44 million in 2025
If he's on the roster at the start of free agency in 2026
Stafford had two years and $58 million left on his deal
He played the first 12 years of his career with the Detroit Lions before being traded to Los Angeles in 2021
He led the team to a Super Bowl victory in his first year with the franchise in what was one of the best seasons of his career
Stafford started 16 games and completed 65.8% of his passes for 3,762 yards

Watch highlights of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford during the 2024 NFL season
The Los Angeles Rams and Matthew Stafford are in a year-to-year relationship
but Sean McVay hopes it's more than just one more run with the veteran quarterback
"We have a chance with him every time he's at the switch, and love working with him. And I think he can play as long as he wants, but fortunately, I'm hoping it's a couple more years," McVay told Adam Schein on SiriusXM's Mad Dog Sports Radio
Stafford expressed his desire to always remain in L.A
McVay told Schein that the honest conversations with Stafford have allowed the two most important Rams employees to get closer
"When you're able to have real conversations with people you love and care about
"And there is no question in my mind that he and I are closer than ever
there's a lot of gratitude that we were able to work through some of those things
I heard (general manager) Les (Snead) say it
And I think there is kind of a renewal of appreciation for the opportunity to continue to work together
It doesn't go lost on me how fortunate I am to be able to work with somebody as special as he is
and more importantly what he means with how he moves as a man
and how he positively affects and influences his teammates and people he's around."
The Super Bowl-winning quarterback has helped keep the Rams contenders despite the roster-churning as L.A
recalibrated from its years of shelling out for a Lombardi
The 2024 upstart Rams won the NFC West and beat the Vikings in the postseason
They gave the Super Bowl champion Eagles their most competitive playoff game in the Divisional Round
with Stafford having a chance to win it late
McVay said that Stafford is feeling good physically after his 16th season
"I think he came out of this season feeling really good physically," McVay said
"And one of the things that I think is a tremendous credit to him
you look at [those] playoff games that he's played in with us
he did everything in his power to try to will us to a victory against an excellent Detroit football team in '23
and he does his thing against Philadelphia."
The Rams could be waiting for a potentially deeper signal-caller class in 2026
The Baltimore Ravens on Monday released veteran kicker Justin Tucker
who currently is the subject of an NFL investigation into allegations of improper conduct during massage therapy sessions

as well as a video of them having their makeup touched up while shooting
alongside a heartfelt message addressed to Lanier
You walked into this role and immediately made it your own
The only unfortunate thing is most of the time
you jumped in and killed it every single day.”
Lanier stepped into the role of Summer in 2022
taking over for previous portrayer Hunter King
and earned a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2024
She announced her departure on X (previously Twitter) just a couple of days before her final episode aired and Summer flew off to Europe
“You are an extraordinary actress,” Stafford added
I have no doubt we will be seeing you on the screen sooner than later
Thank you for inhabiting the character so thoroughly
I truly felt like I had a real daughter in you
Back in 2023, just over a year after joining the cast of Y&R, it was clear that Lanier had made quite the favorable impression on her on-screen mother. “She came into this story when Phyllis and Summer were at odds,” Stafford told Soap Opera Digest at the time
“Phyllis was spouting off all of these speeches to Summer about this
and the other thing and I think it was a daunting task for Allison because it was just a lot for her to jump into
Everybody here really likes her because she’s so sweet and very professional
“Allison has been working every day and giving long speeches
and I’m really impressed by how incredible she is,” she added
“She really has a grasp on Summer and made the character her own
Family Feud: Summer quickly discovered that hiring her mother to work for her was a very bad idea

A 24-year-old has appeared in court charged with murdering another man in Shrewsbury

Kai Michael Sainz-Stafford appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court this morning
Get the latest headlines delivered straight to your inbox with the Shropshire Star’s free newsletter
The 24-year-old, of Field Crescent, Shrewsbury, entered the dock wearing a grey sweatshirt
The severity of the alleged offence means that the case can only be dealt with at the crown court
so the matter was committed to Stafford Crown Court
Addressing Sainz-Stafford the clerk said: "That is a matter that can only be dealt with at the crown court and the magistrates will in a moment send the matter to the crown court at Stafford."
The chairman of the bench committed the case to crown court and told Sainz-Stafford he was being remanded in custody pending an appearance at Stafford Crown Court tomorrow - Tuesday
Team and player finalized the new agreement over the weekend, as first reported by Ben Volin of the Boston Globe
Stafford will collect $44MM in 2025 along with $40MM the following year
That $84MM total stands in sharp contrast to the $58MM which was originally owed over the next two years (although it falls well short of the top of the QB market)
Stafford has operated as the Rams’ starter
After helping lead the team to the Super Bowl during his debut Los Angeles campaign
1 pick was limited to nine games the following year
and the Rams’ continued decision not to draft a successor indicates their confidence he will continue to operate at a high level moving forward
The 37-year-old received permission to gauge his market this offseason
but no trade agreement was struck with suitors like the Giants or Raiders
Stafford and the Rams will look to build off the success of the 2024 campaign with stability under center for at least another two years
Given the length of this latest restructure
team and player will no doubt welcome the lack of questions regarding Stafford’s short-term outlook

Michelle Stafford couldn’t let the departure of her castmate pass without acknowledging what a tremendous job she had done
“This girl!” the Emmy winner exclaimed of Lanier
You walked into this role and immediately made it your own.
“The only unfortunate thing,” she added
“is most of the time and in particular during the first year and a half our characters were at odds
Lots of fighting on screen… ”
Stafford was blown away by the gifted performer that Young & Restless found to succeed Hunter King as Summer
“You are a consummate professional,” she continued
“I have no doubt we will be seeing you on the screen sooner than later
With that, Stafford expressed her gratitude to Lanier for making it so very easy to play her mom. “Thank you for inhabiting the character so thoroughly. I truly felt like I had a real daughter in you,” she said. “Go out there and soar, you gorgeous girl. I absolutely 100% know you will.”

Stafford’s contract earns the quarterback $44 million this season
NFL Network reported if Stafford is on the Rams at the start of free agency next year
The finalized deal puts a period on a long offseason of negotiations between Stafford and the Rams
MATTHEW STAFFORD CONTRACT: Rams finalize new deal with quarterback
Prior to the agreement, the Rams gave Stafford’s agent permission to gauge the quarterback’s market value around the NFL after talks stalled in contract negotiations
Stafford had two years remaining on his previous deal
The Rams and Stafford have enjoyed a beneficial partnership since he was dealt to Los Angeles in a blockbuster trade with the Detroit Lions in 2021
Stafford signed a contract extension with the Rams in March of 2022 after he led the franchise to a Super Bowl 56 title at SoFi Stadium. He then agreed to a reworked deal last offseason
“It was very obvious that we all wanted to continue the partnership and continue chasing some form of greatness together,” Rams general manager Les Snead said in March after the team and Stafford reached an agreement
“That's exactly the conclusion that we got to and we're jacked it came to that point."

Nussmeier is the definition of a coach's son
as his father Doug is a former NFL quarterback who is currently the offensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints
Nussmeier took over for Heisman winner Jayden Daniels in 2024
Nussmeier led the Tigers to a 9-4 record with a win in the Texas Bowl
Thus ESPN's Jordan Reid has projected in a way too early draft that the Rams would trade up into the top ten
securing a deal with Carolina to select Nussmeier with the seventh overall pick
"Here's Matthew Stafford's heir apparent." Wrote Reid. "Stafford will turn 38 before the 2026 season
so this is a great spot for the Rams to pick Nussmeier
whose 79.1 QBR ranked 11th in the FBS in 2024
Nussmeier's arm is more flexible than powerful
and his anticipation skills result in some of the most exciting throws I've seen on tape
Interceptions are an issue -- he threw multiple picks in four games last season -- but he could be a first-round pick if he cleans those up."
Nussmeier was the third quarterback off the board with Clemson's Cade Klubnik going first to the Browns and South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers heading to the Jets at three
Perhaps this opinion will change if Nussmeier takes a massive step in 2025 but there were too many games that left questions about his ability to beat top defenses
he also had excellent weapons such as the late Kyren Lacy
Nussmeier looked awful against South Carolina
but it is concerning that his three worst games came against teams that were the closest resemblance to an NFL defense
The Rams have a decision to make and if they like him then come on down Nussmeier but there if they pick a quarterback

The 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone
but draft preparation is a year-round process
That means it’s time for a 2026 NFL Mock Draft
A lot will change between now and next April’s draft. That said, a way-too-early mock can still provide valuable insight into what needs NFL teams have after the 2025 NFL Draft. It also highlights top prospects to watch in the coming college football season
The draft order comes from PFSN’s 2026 NFL Mock Draft simulator
which you can use to create your own mocks
LaNorris Sellers isn’t the consensus QB1 in the 2026 class
but he might have the best physical tools of any quarterback in college football
Even though the Cleveland Browns drafted Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders in 2025
neither came with the kind of draft capital that signals long-term commitment
If Cleveland finishes with the league’s worst record
they’d be smart to take a swing at a true franchise QB
The New York Jets signed Justin Fields to a two-year deal
That would put them right back in the market for a long-term quarterback
Some critics soured on Nico Iamaleava after his last-minute transfer from Tennessee
but there’s a reason his exit shook the college football world
The New Orleans Saints drafted Tyler Shough in Round 2 this year
but the idea of a Manning leading the offense in New Orleans feels right
Arch Manning enters the 2025 season with just two college starts under his belt
and he still needs to improve his footwork and feel for backside pressure
and has a live arm with strong off-platform mechanics
He’s not QB1 yet — but he’s a clear top-three pick in this mock
With Cam Ward now at quarterback, the Tennessee Titans must build around him during his rookie contract window
He’s the kind of edge rusher who can anchor a defense
The Giants made some big swings in 2025 with Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart
high-IQ 3-tech with violent hands and pass-rush counters
he can control gaps and make an impact inside
He’s a potential game-changer on the defensive line
Wonnum and Jadeveon Clowney set to hit free agency
He had 11 sacks as a sophomore and flashed great burst
Even after signing Camryn Bynum this offseason, the Indianapolis Colts could still use an upgrade at safety
the 2026 NFL Draft features one of the best safety prospects in recent memory
There was early buzz that Cleveland might target Abdul Carter at No
they’re still positioned to land a top-tier edge rusher
Keldric Faulk is a rare athlete at 6’6″ and 288 pounds
His burst off the ball and backside pursuit range are impressive
giving him every tool to be a dominant defensive force
Pete Carroll understands better than most how crucial a strong offensive line is
and the Raiders need to get more consistent up front
That makes offensive tackle a key target in this mock
he’s a massive presence with long arms and powerful hands
He’s not just big — he’s coordinated and technically sharp
He checks every box for a long-term NFL left tackle
He’s an accurate passer with good poise in the pocket and underrated mobility
and decision-making make him a great fit in Sean McVay’s offense
He could be a strong long-term answer under center in Los Angeles
The Arizona Cardinals look to have a long-term building block in Paris Johnson Jr.
but they’ll need a complement on the opposite side
Right tackle remains a need if they want to solidify the offensive line
the younger brother of Jets linebacker Francisco Mauigoa
there’s a good chance he’s a first-round lock
That opens the door for Dallas to invest in another high-end corner
He snagged four interceptions in 2024 and showed quick feet
and capable of handling field-side and boundary responsibilities
Safety stands out as a clear area for improvement entering 2025
Dillon Thieneman’s production dipped in 2024
but his transfer to Oregon could help him return to form
he had six interceptions and showed elite range
high-upside free safety with playmaker potential
New England bolstered its defensive front with Milton Williams and Harold Landry
Dani Dennis-Sutton broke out with 8.5 sacks in 2024 and likely would’ve been a Day 2 pick had he declared last year
explosive edge defender who has developed well as a pass-rush technician
He’d bring real juice to the Patriots’ front seven
The Seattle Seahawks could extend Kenneth Walker after the 2025 season
they let him walk and find a cheaper replacement with major upside
Jeremiyah Love isn’t far from the Ashton Jeanty comparisons you’ll hear in this class
He’d be a natural fit in Seattle’s offense
The Chicago Bears have a few options at left tackle moving forward
or turn to Ozzy Trapilo or Kiran Amegadjie
But if they feel uneasy about the position after 2025
left tackle becomes a realistic Round 1 priority
Isaiah World excelled at Nevada and now brings his game to Oregon
mobile lineman who posted an 82.3 pass-blocking grade last season
especially if they miss the playoffs again
Caleb Lomu is a smooth left tackle who only allowed two sacks on 425 pass-blocking snaps in 2024
and range in pass protection make him a top tackle prospect
Minnesota’s front seven is loaded after signing Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave
DJ McKinney made a name for himself across from Travis Hunter in Colorado’s defensive backfield
tallying three interceptions and nine pass deflections
He’s a 6’2″ corner with length
and NFL-ready ball skills — just what the Vikings need on the boundary
Sixth-round pick Will Howard was a solid flier, but the Pittsburgh Steelers may still be searching for their next franchise quarterback
His pocket presence and decision-making stand out
LSU has quietly become a factory for pro-ready quarterbacks
Bo Nix and Sean Payton have Denver’s offense trending upward
but they could use another dynamic pass-catcher to elevate the unit
Antonio Williams caught 75 passes for 904 yards and 11 scores last year
and sharp route-running make him a tough cover — and a potential riser in a weaker wide receiver class
Caleb Banks wouldn’t have to go far in this mock
The Florida standout is a 6’6″
325-pound interior lineman with more pass-rush juice than expected for a player his size
He’s powerful and disruptive — a solid fit for Tampa’s defensive line rotation
The Los Angeles Chargers declined Zion Johnson’s fifth-year option
suggesting they could move on unless he makes a leap in 2025
Interior O-line help becomes a top priority here
Though Spencer Fano played tackle in college
and technically sound — traits that could translate to immediate value inside
Edgerrin Cooper is one of the Green Bay Packers’ more intriguing young players
They go back to Texas in Round 1 for the second straight year
and rangy — built to thrive as a sideline-to-sideline off-ball linebacker with major blitz upside
the Rams turn their attention to the secondary with their second first-rounder
they target help in the defensive backfield
Will Lee III is a long 6’3″ corner with surprising agility and solid ball skills
He’s totaled four interceptions and 16 pass breakups across his last two college seasons
showing the traits needed to thrive on the boundary
he scored 12 touchdowns on just 43 catches last season
With Tee Higgins, Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow all locked up
Cincinnati should focus on rebuilding the defense
Avieon Terrell, the younger brother of Falcons corner A.J. Terrell
is a high-IQ cover man with excellent speed and short-area burst
he notched two interceptions and 12 pass breakups for Clemson
Washington’s offense broke out in 2024, but they still lack a dependable, every-down back. Nicholas Singleton could fill that role
Singleton is a downhill bruiser who thrives in straight-line runs
and consistently moves the chains — an ideal addition for a balanced offense
Baltimore never shies away from drafting talent
they bolster the pass rush behind Kyle Van Noy and Odafe Oweh
had 10.5 sacks in 2024 and earned first-team All-Big Ten honors
He’s an advanced technician for his age with inside-outside versatility and great hand usage
Detroit has few holes, but with Alex Anzalone nearing free agency
Harold Perkins Jr. racked up 13 sacks in two seasons before an ACL tear ended his junior year early
and effective blitzing or chasing in space
The Buffalo Bills are deep up front
but with Da’Quan Jones likely departing in 2026
Christen Miller is a stout run defender with upside on passing downs
He earned an 82.2 PFF grade in 2024 and should get more reps in 2025 to boost his stock
Travis Kelce can’t play forever
the Chiefs may start grooming his eventual replacement
Max Klare had 51 catches for 685 yards and four TDs at Purdue before transferring to Ohio State
He’s a smooth athlete and dependable target underneath with plenty of upside
Philly’s starting duo of Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean looks strong
but a third outside corner could solidify the group
Malik Muhammad is a scrappy cover man who broke up eight passes last year
and brings solid all-around athleticism to a secondary that’s almost complete
Matthew Stafford was asked about why he decided to return to the Rams after testing the market
“It wasn’t something that happened on that Friday during that meeting
It’s not one thing that sits there and goes
There's one thing that makes me want to come back.’ There are so many positive things about our organization and about our team."
I’m just happy to be back and happy that the Rams want me back
We can move forward and hopefully have a great season.”
Stafford got about $40 million more positive things on Monday
The Rams and Matthew Stafford have a new deal in place as reported by NFL Insider Ian Rapoport
In 2025, Stafford will earn $44 million in an essentially fully guaranteed deal for this season. However
the idea that this is Stafford's swan song year couldn't be further from the truth
as the terms indicate plans for Stafford to remain with Los Angeles through 2026
"If Matthew Stafford is on the Rams roster next [year] at the start of FA [Free Agency], he’ll lock in another $40M. Stafford was on the books for $58M over 2 years, now it's $84M over 2 years. Wrote Rapoport. "Coach Sean McVay recently told Adam Schein of Mad Dog Unleashed Radio
'I think he can play as long as he wants
I'm hoping it's a couple more years."
This is how it affects the Rams. According to overthecap.com
Stafford has a cap hit of $47.4 million in 2025 and $48.2 million in 2026
Stafford also has a $33 million cap hit in 2027 with that coming on a void year
Keep in mind the Rams are still paying off Aaron Donald despite Donald retiring after the 2023 season so it's common practice
it doesn't hurt the Rams at all in 2025
more than enough to sign their 2025 NFL Draft class and have a healthy amount remaining for the season
It does impact Jalen Ramsey trade talks as now that Stafford's deal is finalized
there is an amount Miami must minimally eat of Ramsey's deal in order to facilitate a move to Los Angeles

When the Rams QB earns another $40 million guaranteed
he’s got another $40 million coming to him:
Stafford will have $40 million guaranteed to him
This number is close to already being guaranteed — if Stafford does not retire — because the Rams have little to gain by parting ways with the quarterback next year. The Rams would only save $6.4 million in cap space by releasing or trading Stafford in 2026
with nearly $42 million in dead money left on the books
Because the Rams had to spread out his new money as much as possible
there are also three more void years AFTER 2026 in which L.A
will owe money to Stafford on the books despite not being on the roster by then
That includes a $33.6 million cap number in 2027
when Stafford will be a 39-year-old free agent
Stafford is well locked in for 2025 and 2026
but he’s especially locked in at the start of free agency next year
In order to keep Matthew Stafford as their quarterback in 2025, the Los Angeles Rams needed to adjust his contract this offseason
The two sides got to work on a revised deal after the season ended and eventually came to an agreement at the end of February
Instead of making $58 million in the next two years
Stafford can now earn $84 million – assuming he plays beyond just the 2025 season
That’s $44 million in 2025 and $40 million in 2026
He needs to be on the roster at the start of free agency in 2026 in order to earn that $40 million
The Rams don't plan to cut him after the 2025 season but if they were to
Stafford got a significant raise this year
upping his pay from $27 million to $44 million
He also bumped his pay from $31 million to $40 million in 2026
for a total of $26 million more ($84 million vs
Stafford and the Rams may have to go back to the negotiating table again next offseason but even at $40 million for 2026
Stafford will be well-compensated if no adjustments are made to his contract
That should be at least a little bit of a relief for both sides after having to tweak his deal in each of the last two years
The Rams have Matthew Stafford back for this season
The Rams don’t have a heir apparent on the roster
But they do have two first-round picks for 2026
having acquired the Falcons’ top selection for next year
That gives them ammunition to trade up for a quarterback in 2026
is hoping for at least two more years out of Stafford
“We have a chance with him every time he’s at the switch, and love working with him,” McVay told Adam Schein on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio. “And I think he can play as long as he wants, but fortunately, I’m hoping it’s a couple more years.”
Stafford agreed to a revised contract this offseason to stay in Los Angeles after being given permission to seek a trade
The Raiders and the Giants showed interest
“When you’re able to have real conversations with people you love and care about
“And there is no question in my mind that he and I are closer than ever
There’s a lot of appreciation; there’s a lot of gratitude that we were able to work through some of those things
I heard [General Manager] Les [Snead] say it
It doesn’t go lost on me how fortunate I am to be able to work with somebody as special as he is
and how he positively affects and influences his teammates and people he’s around.”
He is 19-12 as a starter the past two seasons
completing 64.2 percent of his passes for 7,727 yards with 44 touchdowns and 19 interceptions
“I think he came out of this season feeling really good physically,” McVay said
“And one of the things that I think is a tremendous credit to him
you look at [those] playoff games that he’s played in with us
he did everything in his power to try to will us to a victory against an excellent Detroit football team in ’23
and he does his thing against Philadelphia.”
The reversal was enough for the franchise to win the NFC West division and give the Philadelphia Eagles their biggest fight during the NFL Playoffs
the Rams hit the offseason with several things to address
One of the biggest things was finding out where quarterback Matthew Stafford would be playing going into the future
With thoughts he would take his talents elsewhere
the Rams brought him back at the end of the day
While Stafford is a future Hall of Fame quarterback when his career is finally over
he is certainly in the back half of his playing career
It's not every day that professional athletes play this late into their careers
with a handful of spectacular athletes being able to do so
Stafford happens to be one of those athletes
but even the best of the best begin to fall apart
Regardless of Stafford feeling like he is in the best shape of his career, the Rams have to have some worry that the glory days are over
And it doesn't just go for the Rams quarterback
The franchise did bring in veteran Davante Adams to ultimately replace Cooper Kupp
Going into his age 32-33 season in the NFL
he is another player that the Rams will have to keep their eyes on
Adams, on the other hand, hasn't shown signs of regression, as he's been able to record over 1,000 receiving yards in his last five seasons
he has youngster Puka Nacua behind him to keep him young
The Rams have shown that they know how to win a football game
regardless of the average age of that is representing the franchise on the field
What the Rams do offer with their age is experience
as players like Stafford and Adams can only look to share their wisdom as they continue to go deeper into their NFL careers

The Rams have made all the moves they needed this offseason to put the league on notice that they are coming for all the teams in their way in 2025
The Rams had a good run last season but were stopped one game short of the NFC Championship game
For 2025 the Rams are set at the quarterback position with Stafford holding it down for at least one more season
who knows if Stafford will still be here in Los Angeles
Stafford can be on the move or even retire after 2025
The Rams did not take a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft but looking way ahead at the 2026 NFL Draft
the Rams can certainly be looking for their future quarterback
The 2026 quarterback draft class is deep with a lot of talented players
And now that the Rams will have two first round picks
The first quarterback to know is the early favorite to be the No
Manning plays his college football at the University of Texas
Manning is a talented quarterback; if he were in the 2025 draft would have been the number one pick
Manning has everything an NFL team is looking for in a quarterback
and has to ability to extend plays with his legs
"Iamaleava has been the story of the offseason. And not for his on-field play, but for his highly publicized NIL dispute with Tennessee that led to a transfer to UCLA in April," said Max Chadwick of PFF.
"Still, he has incredible tools and can launch up draft boards if he keeps up the level of play that he showed in the second half of last season
Iamaleava posted 75.0-plus PFF overall grades in four of the Volunteers' final seven contests while leading the team to the College Football Playoff
The former five-star recruit’s 81.7 PFF passing grade on the season was a top-20 mark in college football."
Other quarterbacks that will headline it are Garrett Nussmeier of LSU
Taylen Green of Arkansas and Fernando Mendoza of Indiana

as Los Angeles continued to add to an already talented football team
Rams added talent in this year's draft and next year's
After this year's NFL Draft was completed
Eric Edholm of NFL.com ranked every team in the National Football League
He ranked the Rams as the eighth-best team in the league
Edholm noted how the Rams traded out of the first round to gain the Atlanta Falcons' first-round pick in next year's draft
which benefited the Rams in the short and long term
Los Angeles also gained the Falcons' second-round pick in this draft
The Rams' roster was talented enough before the draft to sustain not having a first-round pick this year in exchange for two first-round picks next offseason
Los Angeles set themselves up for success before the draft
then capitalized on their opportunities to improve in the draft
"I really have to credit the Rams for their approach. It's not easy to butter both sides of the bread -- adding pieces for a potential title run in the short term while also compiling for the future -- but that's exactly what Les Snead and Co. have done," Edholm said
"Perhaps the Falcons' trade offer should be classified as pennies from heaven, allowing the Rams to extract a 2026 first-round pick for the cost of sliding down a mere 20 spots
Trading up three times on Day 3 reinforced the urgency the Rams are facing with Matthew Stafford in the twilight of his career
I thought they might target the offensive line in the draft
but their free agency moves helped there."
Los Angeles has had a solid offseason that has firmly established them as one of the best teams in the league
they could still use another free agent or two

Charles Stafford was reelected Saturday to Place 5 on the Denton ISD school board

Denton school board incumbent Charles Stafford retained his spot in Place 5 on the Denton ISD Board of Trustees
He received 57% of the vote to challenger Phyliciá Anderson’s 43%

he amassed a deep roster of endorsements from former and current officeholders in Denton and surrounding cities
Anderson hadn’t returned a phone message seeking comment by late Saturday
Stafford said he is ready to return to his seat and roll up his sleeves to help steer Denton ISD through more growth and very recent actions in the 89th Texas Legislature
State lawmakers increased the basic allotment by $395 per student
far less than the $1,340 per student increase Texas educators asked for
The school board election fell just hours after Gov
Greg Abbott signed school vouchers into law
which many educators worry will recontour the state’s public school finances and divert public money to private and religious schools
which don’t have the same accountability to taxpayers
“I want to thank everybody that went out and voted,” Stafford said Saturday
He said he spent much of the day outside of North Branch Library
one of the polling places where residents cast ballots for the school board
“We talked to a lot of people today at the polls
although I wish there had been more participation
“And it was kind of reaffirming to have our community behave in a good way and do an do an election
Anderson identified mental health resources as a critical need in the district
while Stafford said shifting demographics in the state means the district will have to meet the needs of English language learners and students from low-income families
Retired Denton ISD principal Buddy Dunworth ran unopposed for Place 4 on the board
which is being vacated by longtime trustee Mia Price

Stafford will earn $44 million in an essentially fully guaranteed deal for this season
"If Matthew Stafford is on the Rams roster next [year] at the start of FA [Free Agency], he’ll lock in another $40M. Stafford was on the books for $58M over 2 years, now it's $84M over 2 years. Wrote Rapoport. "Coach Sean McVay recently told Adam Schein of Mad Dog Unleashed Radio
but Stafford was allowed to explore the market and is believed to have found a potential suitor with the Raiders
The Rams likely had to offer something in the range of what the Raiders were willing to offer
Something to note is that after negotiations with Stafford failed
the Raiders traded for Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks
Smith is on the last year of his deal from Seattle with the Raiders taking on a $40 million cap hit in 2025
The Raiders also extended Smith upon trading for him
giving the veteran quarterback a two-year $75 million deal with $58 million guaranteed
Considering the similarity in numbers with Stafford getting a higher amount of $9 million overall
it's safe to say Stafford had leverage entering negotiations
Stafford and the Rams were also on a year-to-year understanding that while he remains under contract
both parties would have to figure out guaranteed money every offseason
it firmly places the ball in the Rams' court as they would have a limited time to make a decision on Stafford's future

Stafford will earn $44 million this coming season, that includes $4 million already paid and $40 million fully guaranteed per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network Monday.
The Rams and Stafford started negotiating during the 2025 NFL Combine
But terms of the restructured deal weren't released until now.
Luring back Stafford helped alter the Rams' draft plans. Most mock drafts believed the Rams would consider taking an eventual successor for Stafford. Names like Shedeur Sanders of Colorado, Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss
even Jalen Milroe of Alabama surfaced as draft possibilities
Milroe visited the Rams per multiple reports -- fueling rumblings the Rams would draft him between round one to three.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (9)
Ultimately, the Rams dipped out of drafting a QB. Los Angeles instead handing Stafford a future weapon at tight end in Terrance Ferguson. The Rams also drafted Jarquez Hunter out of Auburn in the fourth round -- who's coming to bolster the speed and depth in the backfield.
Stafford will be heading into his fifth season with the Rams
Stafford needs five more touchdown throws to hit 100 total in a Rams uniform
He's also 23 touchdowns away from hitting 400 career TD throws
He'll pass Matt Ryan for ninth on the all-time list among quarterbacks.
Stafford also has thrown for more than 3,000 yards in three of his first four seasons with the Rams.

Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams agreed to a revised contract back in February
ensuring that the two sides would continue their partnership for at least another year
While the contract was agreed to two months ago
It appears to be finally done because the finer details of his reworked deal have emerged. According to Over The Cap
Stafford got a $17 million raise for the 2025 season
raising his cash payout from $27 million to $44 million
Despite the Rams giving Stafford more money this year
they actually managed to lower his cap hit from $49.67 million to $40.97 million
That was done with the addition of five void years onto the end of the contract from 2027-2031
Update (5/1): Over The Cap has revised its breakdown to reflect a cap savings of $2.2 million instead of $8.7 million
His updated cap hit in 2025 is $47.47 million
Over The Cap notes that his new contract has $40 million in guarantees and comes with a total raise of $26 million
Stafford has multiple option bonuses worth up to $24 million in 2025 and 2026
Stafford is effectively making $46.5 million per year
which would put him 11th among all quarterbacks in annual salary
just behind Jalen Hurts ($51 million) and slightly ahead of Kyler Murray ($46.1 million)
Stafford chose to remain with the Rams for at least another year
Stafford said he "never really wanted to leave" the Rams and is thankful they were able to work something out
continuing their pursuit of another Super Bowl in L.A

They’ve developed a culture and roster that has opened up their window wide to win now thanks to the drafting of Les Snead and the trust in the young talent his team possesses
This year’s Rams have just the right mixture of youth and veteran talent at key positions to suggest a potential run at the Lombardi Trophy out of the NFC in 2025
The conference has become one filled with brimming talent across the board and Los Angeles is considered close to or at the forefront of contention
there is one small issue I have with how the Rams approached the offseason: they did not find a potential successor or developmental talent to grow behind veteran franchise signal-caller Matthew Stafford
Two months ago, I wrote about why the Rams should invest in a young backup quarterback
I had mentioned that Stafford was close to heading off for a new franchise had his contract situation not been resolved
it was the right time to draft a developmental quarterback to be mentored by the Super Bowl champion signal-caller
the Rams never looked in that direction with any of their draft selections
it’s not a significant concern as the team is prepared for another run for not just the postseason but a trip to Santa Clara next February
I can understand why Snead and McVay chose to stick with what they currently have due to the lack of talent in this year’s quarterback class
Trading back with the Atlanta Falcons and acquiring another first round draft choice helps with their chances next year of moving up for a quality QB prospect
especially when next year’s group looks much more enticing
Irrelevant can become a Pro Bowl passer and lead his team to the brink of a Super Bowl title
drafting a quarterback to be coached by McVay
even if he doesn’t become a long-term starter
should’ve been on the priority list for the Rams
Not addressing the issue is risky but it shows the confidence the team has in Stafford’s ability to continue playing at a high level
I’m of the belief that NFL teams should draft a quarterback every year
no matter their situation and the Rams apply here
it doesn’t ease the feeling of not having a Jaxon Dart or Jalen Milroe to develop behind Stafford and Garoppolo
we must trust the process that Los Angeles has turned into success in recent years
The future of the franchise at quarterback will come
but the risk of not taking even a developmental talent this year remains

Kelly Stafford defended Jordon Hudson after she faced criticism for interjecting during boyfriend Bill Belichick’s recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning
Amid the fallout from the 24-year-old’s interjection during boyfriend Bill Belichick’s April 27 interview with CBS Sunday Morning’s Tony Dokoupil
football WAG Kelly Stafford defended Jordon’s right to speak up
“I think it’s fair game both ways,” she said during the May 1 episode of her podcast The Morning After
Kelly—who wed NFL quarterback Matthew Stafford in 2015—agreed when her cohost Hank Winchester deemed the former cheerleader’s remark “unacceptable” and suggested that the couple should have expected the line of questioning given their increased public profile
“You never really saw him much in the social media platform stuff,” Kelly observed
“I do think there is a little bit of responsibility for her knowing that questions are going to be asked
because they are so public with their relationship.”
Days after the interview, Bill—who is 49 years Jordon’s senior—said in a statement to E! News that his “expectation” for the interview to focus on his new memoir “was not honored,” despite his efforts to steer the conversation back to the book
with whom I share both a personal and professional relationship
stepped in to reiterate that point to help refocus the discussion,” the former New England Patriots coach
said in the April 30 statement released through the University of North Carolina where he now works
“She was not deflecting any specific question or topic but simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track.”
insisting it was promised “a wide-ranging interview” with the sports legend prior to the sitdown
“There were no preconditions or limitations to this conversation,” the broadcaster said in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter)
“This was confirmed repeatedly with his publisher before the interview took place and after it was completed.”
"That's really the only time when age seems to be shoved in my face and I have to give an answer for it
I don't really think about it that much otherwise."And Heidi—who married Tom the following year—made it clear she's going to continue living life on her terms."You have to just live a happy life without worrying too much about what people think," the supermodel continued
"because worrying is only going to give you more wrinkles."
"I find it really amazing when you flip it and the guy is older
no one cares and actually people like it."
Sam Taylor-Johnson & Aaron Taylor-Johnson
And it comes up on the outside perspective of people who don’t know us
because I guess people will always...We’re a bit of an anomaly
but it’s that thing: After 14 years you just think
surely by now it doesn’t really matter?”Sam even pointed out her relationship with Aaron has lasted longer than her marriage to her ex-husband Jay Jopling
who is about four years older than she is."So
if you think of it in that way," she continued
"then the age gap doesn’t really make any difference.”
Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones
it wouldn’t be normal if there weren’t any ups and downs
"We've never related to someone in my life better than we do
And we just couldn't be happier."
'This older man wants some young bimbo with no opinions whatsoever
And then that younger woman is obviously a gold digger
and she obviously doesn't even care and is just like OK
I hope you die and I'm gonna take all your money.'"However
she's since had a change of heart."Now that I'm in that relationship and people will say those things about me regularly
Why was I so judgmental about other people who are literally just finding love?'" she added
"And maybe their love looks different from you
but it doesn't make it not valid."
"But I knew that this was an incredibly special person.”
The Alfie actress and the Lift actor know not everyone understands their relationship. “I would imagine it would be complicated for anyone to get their head around," Oli put it to Vogue while referencing their 15-year age gap
"but there’s been nothing but love and joy.” And frankly
Sienna suggested nobody else needs to understand it.“I don’t think you can legislate on matters of the heart," she added
"I certainly have never been able to."
The Jurassic Park star recalled a lighthearted moment with his Olympian wife, who is 30 years his junior."I said, 'Which Beatle would I be if I was one of the Beatles?'" he remembered on The Hoda Show
I think you're thinking of that.'"However
Jeff noted it didn't take Emilie long to realize she meant George Harrison
"So there's that kind of thing," he noted of the couple's age gap
But other than their differing cultural touchpoints
life together is "so far so good."
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley & Jason Statham
The model also doesn't feel the need to deliver a fast and furious response to any critics of her 20-year age gap with the actor."His knowledge and strength are really inspiring and attractive, and that can come with a man who's had a bit of time," she told Glamour in 2013
"We have a connection that has nothing to do with age
but if you have someone at home who thinks you're the greatest person in the world
As for how the American Idol alum feels about any judgment towards her nearly 35-year age gap with the composer? Probably so over it."I totally get the judgment initially, but things are never as they appear," Katharine said on Dr. Berlin's Informed Pregnancy Podcast in 2023
"And I'm in love with our love story
and that's all that matters is that I'm in love with the love story."
“It’s not something that I ever thought would ever happen
you know I thought 30-year-olds were too young for me.” And while Kristin said she understands how “it looks to the outside world,” she insisted Mark is “not a typical 24-year-old” and that there’s more to a person than their birth year
“I really think age is just a number,” she continued
“It’s what you’ve been through in your life
There are just so many factors that go into maturity other than age.”But months later
“I just know long-term he needs to experience life,” she said on an October episode of her podcast
I started to feel the age a bit just with life experience
I look back when I was 24 and how much life has happened for me in between then
This is when you find yourself and he needs to be able to do that.”Still
she called their romance "the best relationship" of her life and expressed hope that Mark will realize their split was for the best."I know that one day he will look back and he will understand it," she added
"and I actually think one day he will thank me."
When the Oscar winner first started crushing on the barrister, he wasn't sure she'd feel the same way.“I liked her, but I didn’t want to jump the shark on it,” George said on The Howard Stern Show about his early romance with Amal
‘Cause I’m 17 years older than her so she might’ve thought I was grandpa.”However
it turns out she liked him right back and they wed in 2014
Age is only a number for the Bachelor alum, who is 18 years older than his wife. As he put it during a March 2025 episode of his The Viall Files podcast, "When it comes to age gaps, looks matter."
