the organization’s full-time drivers The strong performance at one of NASCAR’s most treacherous racetracks is celebration-worthy as it’s the first time that the organization has managed to place multiple entries inside the top-10 in a NASCAR Cup Series event on a non-superspeedway was the best of the bunch for LEGACY MOTOR CLUB on Sunday Michigan-native’s first top five result of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series campaign and the organization’s first top-five on a non-superspeedway since the Fall of 2023 at Kansas Speedway Jones was able to methodically work his way forward and collect a single stage point at the end of the race’s first stage it didn’t take long for that track position to slip away from the LEGACY MOTOR CLUB team 43 received a speeding penalty during the stage break Jones continued grinding in the second stage working himself up to a position inside the top 20 before disaster struck for the second time on pit road receiving an equipment interference penalty which for the second time before the halfway point of the race that was the last significant setback of the afternoon allowing Jones to continue slowly moving his way up the leaderboard through various strategy calls and a fast racecar A sequence of multiple restarts at the end of the race would allow Jones to get closer to the front of the pack allowed him to snipe a spot inside the top-five but just happy to come back from it and get a top-five It would have been pretty disappointing to have a car this good kind of our first car this year that’s been pretty strong John Hunter Nemechek also had a stellar performance on Sunday, bringing his No. 42 Dollar Tree Toyota Camry XSE home in eighth for his third top-10 result of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series campaign Two top-10s in Texas! pic.twitter.com/20k9nOLUJz Nemechek also had some struggles on pit road North Carolina-native was busted for speeding under the race’s first caution which dropkicked him down to dead-last in the running order After making some progress through the pack Nemechek and crew chief Travis Mack executed a two-tire strategy which catapulted the No A slight hiccup in fueling the Dollar Tree-sponsored entry cost Nemechek a couple of spots at the beginning of the race’s final stage the third-year NASCAR Cup Series driver methodically kept moving forward Had good long run speed – guys brought a fast Dollar Tree Toyota Camry XSE Just kind of all over the place with what we had The last couple of restarts were tough with the positions that we were in.” “I’ve got to get better from a driver’s standpoint racing up towards the front so progressing and learning,” Nemechek added Sunday provides a glimmer of hope for the organization which has been working hard to become perennial top 10 contenders in the NASCAR Cup Series since their switch to Toyota GAZOO Racing at the start of 2024 Jones hopes that this weekend’s strong showing will kick the organization into high gear heading into the Summer: “Thankful for AdventHealth and Toyota to get a good run and hopefully we can get rolling I would love this to be the start of our summer stretch and just keep it going.” Next up is another good racetrack for Jones and LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Jones secured the team’s first-ever top-five result The content on this site is for entertainment and educational purposes only Betting and gambling venue for NASCAR fans to finally see defending Cup Series champion Joey Logano return to winning ways since his championship triumph last year While the win marked a significant achievement for Team Penske the event also brought positive tidings for Legacy Motor Club Nemechek finished the Würth 400 in fifth and eighth place marking a pivotal moment in the team’s history since Jimmie Johnson became a majority stakeholder of the team earlier this year racing at the Texas Motor Speedway has become more about surviving than winning The last five races in the “Lone Star State” have reached double-digit cautions Sunday’s Würth 400 saw a season-high 12 cautions the cautions did not hinder any of the progress they made throughout the race as both of their drivers finished inside the top ten The feat meant it was the first time in LMC’s history that the team had put two cars in the top ten in a single race at a non-drafting track the last time the camp was able to achieve the feat was back in 2014 given Ty Dillon only ever had one top-ten finish for the team Should one consider that as the last time the camp had all their cars inside the top ten finishers Jones and Nemechek’s achievement has ended an 11-year streak Today, @Erik_Jones and @JHNemechek finish fifth and eighth at @TXMotorSpeedway It's the first time @LEGACYMotorClub has two cars finish in the top 10 in a single race at a non-drafting track. #NASCAR pic.twitter.com/6lPPCmbWuG — Justin Schuoler (@JSchuoler) May 5, 2025 with Texas being their first top-ten finish since Atlanta It has also marked the first time since the rebranding that the team has put both its cars inside the top ten at a track other than Daytona (2023 & 2024) both drivers moved up the ladder in the drivers’ standings while Nemechek moved up three spots to P23 The feat wasn’t easy to come by either given Jones had to tread along a tricky path to finish P5 on the day He had qualified in P14 for the main race on Sunday but a pair of pit road penalties halted his progress he charged up to P10 and earned his first stage points since Martinsville before fading to P21 when the second stage ended Jones recorded his first top-five finish since last fall’s Talladega Playoff race the result also marked Jones’ first top-five finish at a non-superspeedway since the 2023 Kansas postseason event This website is unavailable arrived in America largely growing up in the Carolinas where she graduated from Newton-Conover High School and Davis Hospital School of Nursing where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Davis Hospital and Statesville Medical Group/Piedmont Healthcare for many years and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church she married her best friend and the love of her life Caroline Miller Yon (Keith) of Charlotte; sisters NC and Charlotte Catherine Wilkins of Cambridge several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents Kay has been active in the community her entire adult life serving in numerous organizations.  She has assisted at church in several efforts most recently with chairing the meal teams and the list goes on.  She has held several officer positions within her service sorority developing lifelong friendships she has treasured with her co-members.  She was active in the Jaycees when there was a separate women’s chapter serving as president during the same year her husband was president of the men’s chapter.  She was also active for a brief time in the Junior Service League in Statesville.  Kay has used her nursing background in many places both in and outside of her employment providing assistance with many vaccination clinics teaching nursing clinicals and many other opportunities for helping wherever she could She was involved in her children’s school life and various classrooms often serving as one of the “grade-mothers.”  Her life included fellowship and fun in so many places one of which has been a very special group of ladies who started with a trip together to the coast solidifying those as lifelong friends who have meant so much to her.  Kay has always loved people from all walks of life cultivating friends and comrades along the journey but what has meant most to her is the love and privilege of becoming a friend sharing the highs and lows in each person’s life as they have done so with her.  Her generous nature of compassion was evident in all the areas of service in which she has been involved.  She has been devoted to her husband and family and within her communities.  Collectively a likely agreement to describe the Kay Miller known to so many would illustrate that well known phrase “To know her was to love her.” Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday March 7 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church The family will visit with friends following the service at Statesville Country Club from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm Burial in Oakwood Cemetery will be
