was demolished on Wednesday after it partially collapsed in a storm the day before
Fearing the brick structure at 58 Julia St
city officials deemed it unsafe and immediately moved to tear it down
"It was determined by code officials and by some other high-ranking officials that it wasn't structurally sound
and for the public well-being and the safety
and they did speak to the property owner about that," said Derrick Backer
was watching the storm and saw the building fall just after 8 p.m
the whole wall came down into the street,” he said
found out about the collapse from his father
who was alerted by others in the community
He’s unsure what will happen next for the business
“I don't know what the owner's plans are
getting things taken care of so that the streets can be utilized,” Ramos said
The storm also damaged more than 30 homes and downed power lines and trees
Sunbury Mayor Josh Brosious issued a state of emergency on Wednesday

(WOLF) — A violent storm shook the city of Sunbury on Tuesday night
Resident Brad Landau says the peak of the storm was around 8:30 at night
and most of the damage was caused in only 45 seconds
“I looked out and all you saw was a sheet of gray
Some of the worst damage was seen on Julia Street
where a portion of Julia Street Seld Storage partially collapsed from the storm
eventually needing to be demolished for safety reasons
Other structures throughout the area suffered damage from heavy winds and falling trees
and immediately noticed my fence was on top of my car
on it’s side against my neighbor’s house,” said Geise
almost completely destroying the structure
“I looked out to see the tree there wasn’t standing
and instead it was in the road,” said Geise
A tornado has not yet been confirmed by the National Weather Service
but there were multiple reports of straight-line winds
“The hanging flowers [in front of my house] didn’t shift at all and those are just plastic hooks
yet it tore my entire electrical box off the wall,” explained Geise
but PPL Crews worked through the night to restore power
“There were trucks just rolling in constantly
and we still probably wouldn’t have power if they didn’t work so quickly
but we had it by 11:30 this morning,” said Landau
with an all hands-on deck effort including Sunbury Mayor Josh Brocious
I think it wasn’t until 7 or 8 in the morning when I stopped seeing him,” explained Landau
Many other residents say they have never seen such destructive winds in the area

Plans for the campus first surfaced at the end of last year
AWS said it was planning to begin construction of the first 450,000 sq ft (41,800 sqm) building in January 2028
The Sunbury City Council also approved an economic development package for the tech giant in November last year

Luke and Teresa Eastwood's Sunbury home is a mullet of real-estate: business on top
The basement is so unusual, in fact, that it got a shout-out from Zillow Gone Wild
the listing service's arm devoted to the unconventional
the basement is simply part of the home — the same way it's been since the couple bought the former Parade of Homes model new in 2015
the basement is a trip to a tropical beach
The space takes tiki bar to a whole new level
No simple pink flamingo propped in the corner
but a full-on room with walls and ceilings hand-painted in a tropical motif: palm trees
In the corner stands a thatch-covered bamboo bar straight out of Gilligan's Island
who owns The White Glove Service luxury rental service with his wife
But now, it's time for the Eastwoods to say aloha. The couple are downsizing to prepare for a move to Florida, and have listed the house for $1.2 million with Kari Heidl-Teske with Red One Realty
Heidl-Teske is holding a Saturday open house for the property
"People will be surprised when they walk into the basement," she said
"It’s obviously not the same feel as the first and second floor
The Eastwoods' home was built by Coppertree Homes as one of six offerings in the 2015 Parade of Homes in the Northstar community east of Interstate 71 and north of Rts
While the tiki bar may be the most unusual part of the home
the property includes other perks including a wide wrap-around porch
two first-floor suites and a third garage that opens to the rear for easier access to lawn equipment and storage
the two-story home includes six bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths in 4,872 square feet
The home backs up to a stand of trees separating the property from North Star Golf Course
A covered patio with drop-down screens overlooks the yard
which is unusually large and private for the neighborhood
"We’ll miss it and our kids will miss it tremendously
They're probably more upset about it than we are."
