David Morse has been helping his fellow neighbors in the Timber Pines 55+ Community clean up their yard debris
offers to trim and bundle tree branches for free on Wednesdays
All he asks is that the homeowners pay for the twine
which costs roughly eight dollars per every hundred feet
Morse has been able to bring his equipment to hundreds of homes and carry out these duties without a hitch
Complications only recently arose when Republic Services began to take issue with his acts of charity
the waste disposal company started refusing to pick up the collected foliage “just prior to Thanksgiving” and continued to do so for three weeks
were as follows: Morse was a professional tree trimmer
he is simply “a gentleman in his 80s who helps his neighbors,” Duguay said
the rules state that 12 may be present except on the week following Thanksgiving
Susan insists that this guideline was also adhered to
Morse was “very meticulous” as Duguay provided photographic evidence of the bundles coming in comfortably under the 50-pound threshold as well as being within the four-foot length requirement
“I just think it is horrible that they are taking advantage of good people who are kindhearted and just trying to help their neighbors
especially their neighbors who are elderly and of meager means,” said Duguay
Morse spent 21 years in Maine as a property owner of 100 acres of land
He spent those years transforming the real estate into “a park for deer and turkey by limbing up” 50 acres of northern red oaks
After enlisting a professional’s help to clear the “junk trees,” Morse put a conservation easement on the property and gave it away to the aforementioned logger
the land could only be logged once trees reached a certain size and the acreage could not be parceled out
Morse has a passion for trees which led him to start helping others in the community with their overgrown greenery
I have trees as a little sticker on our car and on our golf cart.”
The waste company relayed to Morse that it only has one truck per 200 households and that it is in a budget crunch
Republic Services stated that his generous acts have begun to produce too much yard waste for their single vehicle
They insisted that he cease and desist immediately from continuing his efforts
This response from the magnanimous octogenarian pained Susan
She bought a scale of her own to make sure that the bundles were not over the weight limit and contacted Hernando County Commissioner John Allocco regarding the ordeal
Duguay felt that due to the commissioner’s help
“he was the one that probably made sure our waste in November was picked up.” After this
Duguay reports that she was on the receiving end of a rather impolite gesture from Republic drivers
They proceeded to “flip us the bird,” said the Timber Pines resident
A truck driver gave the same one-finger salute to Morse and his wife on a separate waste pickup
as the company stopped picking up Morse’s yard waste mere days before Christmas
The Sun reached out to Commissioner Allocco for comment on the matter
Allocco stated that he would like to resolve the situation
but there is not much he can do at the moment
The commissioner is awaiting “something in writing” from Republic Services that states that it is the company’s policy
he will attempt to follow up with the disposal company if they fail to pick up any of the debris
Republic’s reluctance to recover the downed shrubbery is more problematic than delayed cleanup and vulgar hand gestures
As Timber Pines is a community with a Homeowner Association (HOA)
residents can be fined for debris of this sort
With the disposal company presenting an uncooperative attitude
it threatens to hurt the seniors in a variety of ways: making it harder for the most elderly to dispose of their branches
and removing Morse’s opportunity to socialize while doing a good deed
Susan’s house is flanked by a pair of elderly residents in their 90s – one a widow
they would have a much more difficult time trimming and disposing of their branches
HOA fees often start at 25 dollars and can increase to 50 or even 100 dollars if the fine is not paid or the resident continues to violate the rule
If the clipped branches are unable to be picked up
Timber Pines residents could be subject to these fines
and many are living on rather humble means
Morse is also extremely hard of hearing and will
have to stop his branch-cutting in the next few months due to concerns about balance and age
He uses his cleanup projects as a way to be sociable with others in his community and when he stops
he will regrettably have fewer avenues for interacting with his neighbors
Duguay noted the waste company’s drivers put out envelopes looking for Christmas tips

How to use the Ripsaw Launcher on Timber Pines to clear this Week 4 challenge
Knock down Timber Pines with a Ripsaw Launcher is one of the Week 4 challenges in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3
Completing this task will reward you with 15k XP, which will help you unlock the new Battle Pass skins
you can find Ripsaw Launchers on the ground
even with their boosted availability lasting until 5th July - but you can visit a specific landmark to up your chances of getting a Ripsaw Launcher
For an almost guaranteed Ripsaw Launcher location in Fortnite, go to the Chop Shop workshop area to the north of Logjam Lotus
and contains multiple Ripsaw Launchers lining the inside of the building's walls
As there are so many Ripsaw Launchers here
it's unlikely they'll all be gone even if you do get to the location late in a match
we recommended you pick up a Ripsaw Launcher from the Chop Shop location mentioned above
as it'll save you a lot of time when searching for Timber Pines
What are Timber Pines? They're the the very tall trees in and around the snowy northwestern corner of the Fortnite map
You can tell them apart from the other trees in the area due to their large size and light brown coloured trunks
If you've went to the Chop Shop to find a Ripsaw Launcher
just go outside and look for the tallest trees you can find around the building
If you got the Ripsaw Launcher from another location
and you'll soon come across lots of Timber Pine trees
aim your Ripsaw Launcher at it like you would any other gun
but hold down the button you use to shoot for a few seconds before firing
giving it enough power to knock down the Timber Pine
Once you've knocked down five of these tall trees, you'll get 15k XP toward the current Battle Pass

Fortnite has just been updated with a fresh batch of seasonal quests
one of which tasks players with knocking down five timber pines around the island
The online game is about to start its next "Power Leveling Weekend", which will give you ample opportunity to earn additional battle stars at an accelerated rate
this would be the ideal time to complete the timber pine challenge
You simply have to chop down five trees on the island—and your progress will carry over between matches if you don't manage to hit that target before the final storm phase
You cannot topple any random piece of foliage
Newsweek has prepared the following guide on where to find the timber pines and how to knock them down
Unlike the recent toy biplanes challenge
the timber pines quest won't update your map with any pointers about where to look
You are left to your own devices and must figure out a strategy
We have found that the highest concentration of timber pines is at the western side of Logjam Lumberyard
The location is marked on the map below with a blue pointer
This forested area is covered in all kinds of trees
but you can easily distinguish the ones you are looking for
The timber pines are significantly taller and their bark appears slightly bleached in comparison to the other trees
you must inflict damage on its trunk with a weapon or your harvesting tool
The latter is by far the more efficient method and will conserve your ammunition to boot
which is indicated by a red dot within a blue circle
you will be able to harvest it twice as fast
chop them down and you will have completed the quest
For more help with Fortnite Chapter 3, check out our guides on how to master the sliding mechanic and what crowns do

To knock down a Timber Pine with a Force ability or lightsaber in Fortnite, you first need to gain that power and weapon. To do this, interact with one of the holograms that appear to go through a Fortnite Rift Gate
which will grant you both of those Star Wars elements
You then need to approach a Timber Pine and attack it with either the ability or weapon – although they are much bigger than regular trees they only have 200 HP
which means you should knock it down with a single well-aimed hit
the main trunk of the Fortnite Timber Pine detaches and falls away from you – make sure you don't step into its path while rolling or you'll take damage
It is possible to continue harvesting more wood from the fallen log
so it's likely to bounce away when you strike it

so it pays to know which places to look in to find these lofty pine trees

Seek and destroy timber pines to complete your Star Wars weekly checklist
and the galaxy far far away has brought a seemingly endless flurry of challenges along with it
If you hate trees (or are just looking for a way to blaze through your Force quests) we have you covered on where to find and knock down Fortnite's gargantuan timber pines.
Timber pines can be found scattered around the map
most densely in the northern areas of the Fortnite map like Brutal Bastion and snowy locations
You should stumble into one very close to anywhere you drop
It's worth noting that if you're doing this for the Fortnite Clone Wars quest you have the option of destroying the tree with Force Push
So make sure you run over to Anakin Skywalker
or Darth Maul and get some training before heading out to find your timber pine nemesis
you have options with how to knock it down
All of them are equally viable and don't affect your rewards
take a second to consider how the Lorax might feel about your actions
then simply start slashing away with your lightsaber
but that shouldn't matter too much under the weight of your Force-based advantages
After you wrap up your lumberjack side mission
a real Fortnite currency that hosts a limited time Star Wars battle pass featuring Darth Maul and Clone trooper skins
You have all the tools to complete this quest
Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals
You'll need to find these mighty trees for a weekly challenge.
In Fortnite Chapter 3, you'll need to find Timber Pines in Fortnite in order to complete one of nine Week 5 challenges
heavy trees are unlike those veteran players may be used to
While this provides a new element of strategy--why not just knock some trees onto an enemy build?--they'll also serve you 25,000 XP if you know where to find them
The goal of this challenge is to knock down Timber Pines
you'll need to knock five different trees over
While these trees can be found sporadically all over the island
your best bet is to head to the northwest corner of the map and search around Logjam Lumberyard
There you'll find an abundance of these special trees
Knocking down five of them should only take a moment
provided enemies don't disturb your attempt
but the close proximity of these Timber Pines in this region serves more of a purpose than just allowing you to quickly move from one to another: Should any Timber Pines fall onto any others
those subsequent trees will be knocked down as well
That's what makes completing this challenge in this region so efficient
just one tree may set off a chain reaction that grants you five knocked down Timber Pines in a hurry--and even if they don't
you should be only a few feet away from chopping down the next one
you'll earn 25,000 XP in a hurry and be on your way to completing more of Fortnite's weekly challenges

For the latest Fortnite challenge
you've been ordered to knock down Timber Pines trees
Shouting "timber!" each time you do it is optional
Far from the normal kinds of trees you'd find littered throughout the Fortnite map
the Timber Pines are the ginormous redwood-like trees that can only be found at specific locations
You might remember the Timber Pines from the Fortnite Chapter 3 reveal trailer
where Epic teased a bunch of new weather effects (coming soon) and the ability to knock down these trees and push them into the water
It's basically a giant billboard for how cool Unreal Engine 5's physics and graphics are
We've gone through the trouble of locating them for you below
Keep in mind that the challenge asks you to knock down a total of five
You can find Timber Pines almost anywhere there's snow on the ground
but the greatest grouping of them is easily Logjam Lumberyard in the northwest part of the map
You're specifically looking for the tallest trees around this part of the map
They're identifiable by their relatively light trunks and slightly bluish leaves
Basically imagine a giant Christmas pine tree
it spawns a massive log that can roll around and float in water
because it will absolutely kill a player with no shield
I crushed this obvious bot with a Timber Pine because they wouldn't be friends with me
you'll get a free batch of bonus XP for your trouble

Fortnite has been undergoing one of its best periods in recent memory, as with the new map releasing, theres a ton of content for players to check out.
Within the new Chapter theres some new mechanics that players are still getting the hand of, and one of these is the Timer Pine trees around the map.
Here's where players will be able to find them within Fortnite.
For those who don't know, Timber Pines are the new trees within Fortnite, that when you knock them down to zero health, they don't just go away forever.
Instead, the core of the tree itself falls off and can be used to run into players and really turn the tables of a fight if you knock one down correctly.
If you're looking to find some of these trees in order to knock them down, your best bet is to head over to Logjam Lumberyard, as hence the name, this is the best place to find them,
You'll notice these trees right away, as they have a different tint and tone to them as other trees in Fortnite!

Conservation organization Huron Pines has completed the fourth in a series of road/stream crossing restoration projects reconnecting vital coldwater habitat on two tributaries of the Thunder Bay River
A new timber bridge now stands where Schmallers Road crosses Hunt Creek southwest of Atlanta
It replaces a set of three undersized steel pipe culverts that had been causing Hunt Creek to flow too fast through the crossing
contributing to erosion and creating a barrier for fish
The completed project comes on the heels of three other road/stream crossing restorations Huron Pines implemented on nearby Gilchrist Creek: A timber bridge was installed at Harwood Road in August 2020
followed by an aluminum arch culvert at Greasy Creek Road and a timber bridge at Carter Road this summer
These four projects restored the natural flow of Gilchrist Creek and Hunt Creek
both of which connect to the Thunder Bay River
“Hunt Creek is a designated trout stream and supports healthy populations of brook and brown trout,” said Josh Leisen
“Most of Hunt Creek flows through a well-forested landscape and
is one of the highest quality streams in the Thunder Bay River Watershed.”
Leisen said the former crossing at Schmallers Road was narrow and that fast currents caused road material to wash into Hunt Creek
This input of sediment into the stream buries natural gravel beds which are essential spawning habitat for trout and refuge for macroinvertebrates like mayfly and caddisfly larvae on which trout feed
water rushing through the culvert kept fish from accessing headwaters upstream of the crossing
The former crossing of Hunt Creek at Schmallers Road consisted of three undersized culverts which constricted river flows
contributed to erosion of road material and prevented fish from accessing upstream habitat
we reconnected more than 10 miles of stream and eliminated that fish barrier,” he said
“The bridge deck will be paved and that will eliminate the sediment input and road maintenance issues there.”
Hunt Creek holds unique significance in Michigan’s fishing history as the home of Hunt Creek Fisheries Research Station
Established on the banks of the creek in the 1930s
the facility was a place for researchers to experiment with fishing regulations
habitat improvement methods and fish stocking efforts
With several lakes and a stretch of Hunt Creek on site
all surrounded by an expanse of state-owned land
researchers could conduct controlled experiments in one giant outdoor laboratory
“Much of the fundamental technology we use today
were practiced early on at Hunt Creek,” said Todd Wills
a researcher with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Fisheries Division
Later research at the facility looked at the effects of fishing regulations and sediment input on trout populations
as well as the compatibility of trout species and the viability of different trout strains for stocking efforts
The DNR closed the facility around 2011 and now leases it to Lake Superior State University
“Hunt Creek has a really neat history of work that has not only steered the management of coldwater trout in Michigan but across the United States,” Wills said
The Schmallers Road timber bridge project cost approximately $350,000
Funding comes from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
Fish & Wildlife Service’s National Fish Passage Program
Great Lakes Fishery Trust and Walters Family Foundation
Montmorency County Road Commission provided in-kind labor
with KPM Engineering and John Henry Excavating handling the engineering and construction
Huron Pines is a nonprofit organization established in 1973 to conserve and enhance Northern Michigan’s natural resources to ensure healthy water
educational and recreational opportunities throughout Northern Michigan

This extra-large house in Lake Naomi’s Timber Trails gated community is built to a higher standard than most Poconos houses
What makes this contemporary house in the Poconos different from its neighbors
And those are the reasons why 117 Little Fawn Crescent
PA 18350 commands a higher sale price than its neighbors as well
| Pocono Mountains Association of Realtors MLS images via Dembinski Realty Company
one gets an ability to spot a Poconos contemporary house from miles away
Most of them are similar in their choice of materials and quality of construction
This Timber Trails contemporary house for sale is the exception that proves the rule
While it may resemble a typical Poconos contemporary house in some respects
it should be clear just from the exterior photo above that it stands head and shoulders above them
worked with a contractor she knew from outside the area
so she took a lot of pride in the infrastructure of this house,” says listing agent Andie Gerhard of Dembinski Realty Company
And because it was so solidly built 20 years ago
You should be able to see the high quality of construction all over
from the Kraus Canadian hardwood floors under your feet to the huge windows that let the sun shine into the great room to the substantial stair and balcony railings
Something else that makes this house stand out: its size
this house is built and designed to handle a large crowd
the front door opens directly into the living room
which is one of two spaces in this house set up for media viewing
And the living room is one with the two-story-high great room
which has a fireplace as its focal point and is equipped with a wet bar
Its large windows offer great views of this house’s wooded lot
A large archway next to the wet bar leads to the dining room
which forms a single space along with the kitchen
That kitchen has bar seating at a peninsula and a service counter behind its two six-burner gas ranges with pop-up exhaust fans behind them
I told you that this house was designed to handle a crowd — it definitely lets you cook for one
On the other side of the dining room is a billiard room
And on the opposite side of the great room from all this are a laundry room
a powder room and the primary bedroom suite
As this house is currently furnished — and this house is being sold furnished — the primary bedroom functions more like a guest bedroom
But there’s nothing stopping you from rearranging the furniture and bringing the primary bedroom downstairs
The loft overlooking the great room is the second media-viewing space
Wings lead from this loft to the other six bedrooms
One of those six is outfitted to function as the primary bedroom suite
Another is equipped to serve as a combination bedroom and playroom for youngsters
Three of these six bedrooms have en-suite baths
A powder room on the main floor accommodates guests
one off the game room and the other off the laundry

or if you enjoy entertaining on a grand scale
then this Timber Trails contemporary house for sale is the place you’ve been looking for
you can also do that: Its owner rented it out on Vrbo for all but nine weeks of the year last year
when she used it for her own and family vacations
She got a decent amount of income from the arrangement
you can have your guests help pay your mortgage
OTHER STUFF: A $2,336 annual homeowners association fee covers maintenance of the roads and common facilities, snow and trash removal, and annual membership in the Lake Naomi Club
Along with that comes use and enjoyment of the clubhouse
several beaches and all of the lakes in both Lake Naomi and Timber Trails
The family-friendly resort community offers all kinds of recreational opportunities and activities for young and old

The current potential for extreme foul weather has many residents of Leon County concerned about the safety of the trees near their homes
While it is almost inconceivable to imagine the area without these important plants
While any debilitated or unhealthy tree has a high risk factor

Laurel and water oaks are notorious for being on the top of the problematic list.

Pines offered a variety of potential enterprises for industrious settlers and those who followed
These common trees are rarely appreciated and often overlooked today for their true resource status

It's the main draw for Hoelzer's neighbors, seniors in New Balance tennis shoes who chose to live out their golden years in Timber Pines, a large gated retirement community for "active adults."
It's neighborly and peaceful, packed with country club and golf courses and golf carts to get to both. Residents must get permission to chop down a tree.
For years, the birds and the seniors lived in harmony on Renown Way.
Then the hawks started dive-bombing. They attacked a frail 90-year-old with peach fuzz for hair, a point of pride after beating cancer and completing chemotherapy. The talons took a chunk of her scalp.
For Warren, a 30-year resident of the neighborhood, the first hit felt like he'd stepped in the path of a falling sack of sugar. He was just trying to retrieve the mail.
Warren ended the day at the Hernando County Health Department, enduring the pinch of a tetanus shot. At least it was free.
Hoelzer was unloading the groceries when he suddenly felt a sharp thud. He thought the trunk door had bitten him. Then he felt the seeping blood.
In total, the hawks — one male, one female — struck about a dozen times in 2015.
With a wingspan of nearly 4 feet, red-shouldered hawks are most aggressive during nesting season, warning potential predators with quick talon strikes.
Ordinarily, they aren't hostile toward humans, wildlife officials say. But during nesting season, people look like predators.

Hoelzer sought help from neighbor George Nott to remove the nest. They called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and their senator, Wilton Simpson. But because the birds already had laid their eggs, wildlife officials told the men nothing could be done.
So they endured six more weeks of fear-filled gardening and driveway chats before the babies matured. Yes, begrudgingly, they were cute. But not that cute.
The neighbors secured a permit from the wildlife commission and paid a tree service $200 to topple the nest. When the hawks returned to Hoelzer's tree last month for a second year of nesting, he was ready. He'd looped a long green rope up over the branch that held the old nest, creating an elaborate pulley system to jostle loose the nesting material.
Eventually the hawks gave up — and moved to a tree one lot over.
So far, the hawks have hit Warren three times this year. Hence the helmet.
Nott has, somehow, avoided the talons. He's convinced it's because he has more hair on his head. His neighbors aren't so sure.
An electrician took a talon last week. So did Warren's wife.
One neighbor, a hunched man in his 90s, is trying to rehab a bum hip with regular walks. Not even he can catch a break from the hawks.
The once alluring quiet of the neighborhood now feels eerie, like being alone in an empty old house. Each rustling leaf or cawing echo could mean the end has come.
"Somebody is going to get hit and die," he says. "I don't want to go to a funeral because of a bird."
In a letter to Gov. Rick Scott, Nott wrote: "The 'bird' is a protected species whereas the 'senior citizen' has no recourse (nor protective status apparently) against the attacking hawk. There seems to be a problem with this situation where an animal takes precedence over a human!"
The Migratory Bird Treaty Act looks out for the red-shouldered hawk, making it illegal to move the birds or their nest without proper permits.
But there is one option U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service spokesman Tom MacKenzie said his office, which oversees the southeast region of the U.S., has offered to Florida wildlife officials: The adult hawks could be trapped and relocated, and their eggs (or babies) could be transported to a rehabilitation facility.
In the meantime, MacKenzie said officials can only recommend that residents be vigilant, and use proper armor.
"Be aware," he said. "Umbrellas aren't a bad idea."
Standing below the nest, umbrella expanded, Nott and the other old men search for the female hawk. If she already had laid her eggs, she'd be up there, standing guard.
Then a screech, like that eagle that sounds before The Colbert Report.
The old men grumbled about one suggestion they'd heard, that perhaps they could just go buy hard hats.
"Can you imagine us being a hard hat community?" Nott said.
And the suggestion they just need to deal with it?
"No, we don't," Nott said. "We're retired!"

Editor's note: This story has been changed to reflect the following corrections. Timber Pines is the name of the neighborhood where red-shouldered hawks attacked senior citizens. The neighborhood has one country club. An earlier version of this story stated a different neighborhood name and number of country clubs.
Here's where players will be able to find them within Fortnite.
Instead, the core of the tree itself falls off and can be used to run into players and really turn the tables of a fight if you knock one down correctly.
The part you're going to want to concern yourself with is the bottom of the Pine tree itself that doesn't fall off, as this is the stump.
Once the stump is presented to you, destroy it and once you do this three times you have the challenge complete.
If you're looking for a place to view where to find all these trees, look no further than down below.
The latest type of tree to be added to Fortnite is the Timber Pine
They are currently the tallest in-game and can be harvested for wood
What makes them special is that unlike other trees that disintegrate upon being harvested
To test out how fast a Timber Pine falls, Epic Games' is tasking Flipsiders with knocking down a few in-game. Those who manage to complete the task will be rewarded with 25,000 experience points
Master the game with our Fortnite Interactive Map v33.00 here
Knocking down Timber Pines is easy and shouldn't be too difficult even for newcomers
Here are the steps needed to complete the task:
Timber Pines can be found in all snowy regions of the map
They are mixed in with normal trees which may make it difficult to spot them
there are easy telltale signs to spot the difference
they are extremely tall in Fortnite and have a slender base compared to most other trees in-game
the base of Timber Pines is not covered with moss like normal trees
the major difference between normal trees and Timber Pines is the HP
whereas the other large trees can have up to 600 HP
Users should easily be able to spot the HP bar when harvesting the tree
Unknown to many new and seasoned Fortnite players
Timber Pines have a few secrets up their woody barks
they don't just fall down but use physics to bounce about and come to a standstill
Flipsiders can use these mechanics to destroy enemy builds and take out opponents
they can't be used to destroy armored walls in-game
In addition to this neat little trick, Timber Pines in Fortnite have an 'auto-aim' feature
Rather than fall in the direction they are being cut
they tend to fall towards the direction of the nearest enemy
players can simply shoot the trees and cause them to fall down on unsuspecting opponents
it's unclear if this is a technical glitch or if it is exactly how its meant to function

Fortnite has challenged players to knock down a Timber Pine in the Find the Force event
The tree was introduced in Chapter 3 and differs from other trees in the trunk that can be disconnected and fall over
you must knock one down with a lightsaber or Force Ability for this challenge
Finding a Timber Pine on the vast island can be difficult
There should be more than enough for gamers who want to complete this challenge to find one
Here's where they are and how to go about completing the task
The only way to learn a Force Ability or gain a lightsaber is by being taught Force skills from a Star Wars NPC
They can be found generally in the area to the southwest of Frenzy Fields
An icon will show up on the map to guide you to the exact location
When you find Anakin or Darth Maul as a hologram
interact with them to tell them you want to learn whatever Force Ability they teach
You will then enter the gate as seen above and come out with a lightsaber and a few abilities
Each and every Timber Pine in Fortnite can be found here on the map
there are a lot of different places they spawn
Head to one of these locations and find one of the Timber Pines
It is advised to go to a location with multiple trees so you have a better chance of there still being one standing
When you find a standing Timber Pine in Fortnite, you must knock it down for this challenge. It is easiest to do this with a lightsaber
Get close to the tree and swing a few times
That should deal enough damage to break the top part from the bottom
The tree will then fall to the ground and look like the picture above
Be sure to avoid the falling tree because you can take damage from them
If you want to use the Force
make sure you aim directly at the tree while holding your lightsaber
The Force Push ability is the easiest one to use for this challenge
The challenge only requires you to knock down one tree and will be completed once you've knocked it down

They’re easily recognizable by their thick trunks and the downward slope of their branches which are covered in leaves

We recommend heading east of Frenzy Fields or north of Kenjutsu Crossing in order to complete this Quest

Here’s where you can find and knock down TImber Pines in Fortnite chapter 3 season 1.
Another week in Fortnite, a new set of challenges. We’re onto week five of chapter 3 season 1. So far, most of the challenges that have been released and straightforward and easy to complete.
Epic Games are catering to new players or those that don’t want to go out of their way to complete the challenges. Not only that, but the in-game map helps players complete challenges with ease. That makes sites like Fortnite Insider less useful, which is why we decided to over other games in addition to our usual Fortnite content.
Anyway, one of the week five challenges requires players to knock down Timber Pines. Here’s where you can find and knock down Timber Pines in Fortnite chapter 3.
Timber Pines is a tree with a light brown trunk. The normal trees have a darker trunk than the pines. When you knock one down, you’ll see them actually fall down unlike the standard trees. This is a feature that was added with the launch of chapter 3 now that the game runs on Unreal Engine 5.
One of the best locations to find the locations of Timber Pines in Fortnite chapter 3 in order to knock them down is on the west side of Shifty Shifts near the bridge that’s south of the location.
Here’s the exact map location of the best place to drop to complete this challenge:
To knock them down, simply swing your pickaxe at them until they drop. You’ll need to knock down a total of five in order to complete this challenge which shouldn’t take long at the above location.
Sometimes, you might knock down one tree which will then fall onto the closest Timber Pine which will then knock that one down. This should count towards your challenge.

Players need to knock them down with a Ripsaw Launcher to complete weekly challenges
and we’ve got the best locations to find them
The new Fortnite map is full of exciting locations to explore
but there are also loads of environmental features to take advantage of including timber pines
which are trees that fall and roll over your enemies when destroyed
we’re going to explain the best locations to find timber pines in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3
and how to destroy them once you get there
Timber pines are huge trees that can be found at various locations around the Fortnite map
but the best place to visit is the snow-covered areas around Logjam Lotus as there are loads of them here
We’ve marked two of the best locations to find timber pines on the map below:
as long as you’re in the northwest corner of the map (where the snow is)
but you’ll definitely have an easier time if you visit Logjam Lotus
Once you’ve found a group of timber pines in Fortnite
knocking them down is as simple as giving them a few hits with your pickaxe

Be aware that a timber pine tree will damage anything it lands on
it will roll down in that direction and take out any other timber pines in its path
If you’re looking to knock down a timber pine with a Ripsaw Launcher to complete the weekly challenge
you’ll need to find one from the Chop Shop north of Logjam Lotus
you could always shoot the timber pine until it falls by leaning out the window
One of the Zero Week Weekly Quests in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 challenges you to knock down a Timber Pine and dislodge a Runaway Boulder in a single match in return for a tidy 20K XP reward
the Timber Pines and Runaway Boulders are located in adjacent areas of the Season 4 map
so it’s not too much of a stretch to do both in a single match
The best one to go for first will depend on your Battle Bus route
so just go for the area that’s closer to the route then run

As always Timber Pines can be found in the snowy area in the northwest part of the map
anywhere around Logjam Junction or the Rave Cave
They’re much larger than regular pine trees
and don’t have snow on their needles like the regular pine trees do
The simplest way to knock one down is to use your harvest tool
but you can also knock them down with vehicles and other weapons
And beware of the falling trunk — it can do damage if it hits you
The Runaway Boulders in Chapter 3 Season 4 are concentrated on the high ground around Peril Pass
When you dislodge one of the Runaway Boulders
it’ll probably roll into Peril Pass and come to rest on one of the geysers down there
This results in the Runaway Boulder being launched into the air by the geyser
which has nothing to do with the Zero Week quest
there will be a quest involving this exact phenomenon in a future week
Dislodge the Runaway Boulders in the same way you knock down the Timber Pines — with brute force of one kind or another
Fortnite’s latest Quests ask players to knock down Timber Pines
but if you don’t know what you’re looking for it may prove to be difficult
we’ve got everything you need to cross this task off your list
Fortnite Chapter 3 is now well underway
kicking off all the way back on December 5
Players who watched the season trailer will remember seeing Timber Pines when Epic teased major weather effects coming to the game
players are tasked with locating five of these giant trees and hacking them down for one of the game’s latest Quests
If you’re not sure what you’re looking for
Timber Pines are relatively easy to find in Fortnite
What you’re looking for are the gigantic redwood trees that are scattered across the map
they’re found anywhere that snow is on the ground
so stick to the northwest side of the island
as it is surrounded by clumps of these mammoth trees
meaning you’ll be able to complete this challenge in one go
be prepared for combat as others will have the same idea
This means you’ll likely need to fight off enemies to complete this task
but the good news is you don’t need to knock down all five trees in one match
All Fortnite Weekly Quests in Chapter 6 Season 1 – How to complete challenges
The developers introduced large trees in Fortnite Chapter 3 called Timber Pines
These tall trees look majestic but hide a dangerous secret
the developers tasked players with getting rid of a few of these trees from the island
So to ensure that these giant trees are gone for good, players are being tasked with destroying Timber Pine Stumps. Flipsiders willing and able to destroy three Timber Pine Stumps will be rewarded with 25,000 experience points
Destroying Timber Pine stumps is an easy task and should be a breeze to complete
Timber Pines is a unique tree in-game. Unlike others that merely disintegrate when harvested, these giants tend to keel over and fall
While that's not an issue for players cutting down trees
it does become a problem for opponents nearby
they tend to fall in the direction of the closest enemy
players can use these giant trees to destroy an opponent's build and crush them easily
An easy way to use them is to shoot the tree nearest to the enemy
A few well-placed bullets should be enough to destroy it and cause it to fall on the enemy
keep in mind that opponents can employ the same tactic
If players aren't careful and don't pay attention to the treeline
the last thing they'll be seeing is a giant falling tree
this can be prevented by placing armored walls to absorb the damage
The Ripsaw Launcher is a new weapon in Fortnite Chapter 3
and we’ll go over its location on the map and how to knock down Timber Pines with the Ripsaw Launcher
The Ripsaw Launcher is another weapon that you can get your hands on in Fortnite Chapter 3
and we’ll go over everything that you need to know about it
The Ripsaw Launcher can be found hanging on a wall in Choppin’ Chateau, which is northeast of Logjam Lotus on the north end of the Fortnite map
You can also collect it from chests and as floor loot until Ripsaw Launcher Week comes to an end on July 5
The Ripsaw Launcher shoots a blade that’s capable of destroying builds
and it can dish out 25 damage to buildings
It can hold up to 10 blades and continues to deal damage for a total of 10 seconds when fully charged
One of the Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 Weekly Quests requires you to knock down Timber Pines with a Ripsaw Launcher
Timber Pines are large redwood trees that can mainly be found in snow-covered areas on the Fortnite map
Since you’re supposed to knock down 5 Timber Pines for this challenge
we recommend aiming your Ripsaw Launcher at a tree and fully charging it up before letting go
