Because of this false application the woman was treated by a volunteer dentist who was not compensated for his work and the value of the donated services was $6,000 Sahni allegedly perpetrated a similar scam against the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey’s Community Health Center in Red Bank resulting in Victim 1 receiving services for a reduced fee Sahni also allegedly prevented Victim 1 from receiving treatment for a life-threatening brain aneurysm when Victim 1 began developing headaches following an auto accident in 2014 Sahni told the woman that rest was not permitted and if Victim 1 had a headache she should take Tylenol and complete her work Sahni allegedly told Victim 1 that seeing a doctor would be too expensive and since Victim 1 did not have any paperwork showing she was in the United States legally Sahni allegedly treated Victim 1’s increasingly severe headaches with Tylenol and unidentified pain medications until 2021 when the headaches became debilitating and threatened to keep Victim 1 from performing her daily work Sahni finally brought Victim 1 to an emergency room where she falsely presented herself as Victim 1’s sister and served as her translator When a CT Scan of Victim 1’s head revealed an unruptured aneurysm in her brain doctors advised Victim 1 — through Sahni — that immediate surgery was indicated and that failure to do so could lead to Victim 1’s death Sahni advised Victim 1 to leave the hospital against medical advice Sahni allegedly required Victim 1 to work the rest of the evening Sahni took Victim 1 for a follow-up examination at JFK University Medical Center’s Neuroscience Institute where neurosurgeons concluded that because of the aneurysm's size there was a 1-in-5 chance that it would rupture and Victim 1 could die Sahni told the doctors she was the woman's personal doctor Sahni allegedly continued to advise Victim 1 to not undergo surgery while continuing to make her complete her normal household workload After speaking with family members in India Victim 1 expressed a desire to move forward with surgery at which time Sahni allegedly told her she could not undergo surgery until she found a replacement to cover her daily duties in Sahni’s home there is no evidence in Victim 1’s medical record that Sahni ever took her for follow-up treatment or scheduled the surgery It was immediately after this that law enforcement raided Sahni's home in Tinton Falls and physically removed Victim 1 from Sahni’s home The woman ultimately did not die from the brain aneurysm It is unknown if she ever got the life-saving surgery doctors say she needed despite the fact that the women were household employees Sahni admitted in court that she did not pay taxes related to their labor and did not disclose the labor performed by the victims on her personal income tax return federal Judge Georgette Castner sentenced Sahni to two years of supervised release and ordered restitution of $728,327 Sahni must also pay up to $200,000 in medical bills for the one woman with the brain aneurysm In a final consent order filed with the Board on Tuesday Sahni agreed to resolve the allegations against her by surrendering her license which will be deemed a permanent revocation “There is no place in the medical profession for this kind of criminal conduct and utter disregard for humanity," said NJ Attorney General Platkin Prior on Dr. Harsha Sahni: NJ Suspends License Of Woodbridge Doctor Who Kept 2 Women As Servants (Sept Vito Perillo will call it quits after two terms as mayor of Tinton Falls The 100-year-old mayor of Tinton Falls will not seek re-election to a third term in 2025 Vito Perillo became a centenarian on September 22 and is the oldest mayor in the U.S He’s decided to retire and will leave office at the end of next year at age 101 he would have remained in office until age 105 43 days before Calvin Coolidge was elected president Perillo was a 93-year-old retired civil engineer he ousted incumbent Gerald Turning by 197 votes voters re-elected Perillo to a second four-year term; TINTON FALLS ‑ With odor complaints down the county will start construction of Phase IV of the Monmouth County Reclamation Center The work will take about a year to complete, county officials said Tuesday. The expansion will increase the landfill by 30 acres while providing enough waste capacity for 25 years the county is not opening up any additional land to construct it Phase IV will fill an already existing valley between Phase II and Phase III Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas Arnone, along with representatives from the landfill's operator, Waste Management, were at Tuesday's Borough Council meeting to present an update on the improvements that have been done at the landfill since last year's stink up, which was the latest from the borough's most temperamental resident. Arnone said they're never going to completely get rid of the landfill's odor but they've taken steps to knock it down and control it Some of the evidence that what they've done is working is the fact that the county's new hotline installed this year has only received 10 odor complaints since April The complaint total is according to county Deputy Administrator Geoffrey Perselay "We put the resources and the financial resources together to make a better quality of life for the residents of Tinton Falls and Monmouth County." during a period of heavier than usual rainfall the county's landfill began to emanate a putrid smell The Board of Commissioners then approved a $20 million capital improvement bond to fix the issue More: Monmouth wants to spend $20M fixing landfill odor; here is how far the stink travels gas collection wells and flares as well as increased the applications of the odor neutralizing agent Neutrolene It has had a temporary cap made of geosynthetic material placed over 21 acres of the landfill to keep water out it installed an emergency hot line to handle odor calls Council president Risa Clay said the new call system has "worked very well” thus far the average response time from when a phone call is received to when an inspector arrives at the house is 14 minutes One resident who spoke of improved air quality during the meeting expressed some concern if the system will work when the rain picks up again after a dry summer "I don't want to say the odor has completely disappeared I appreciate all the work that has been done on this." said Anjali Baxi who lives in the Wayside section of Ocean Township "When we go into hurricane season and the fall will it prevent the smell from coming up again?" area director of disposal operations at Waste Management said rainfall does help increase gas generation at the site Over the summer when they noticed a spike in gas generation they fired up the second flare and additional wells to collect the gas "One reason why we went to the county for the temporary cap is that it shuts down a lot of the water from getting into the open spaces of the site," Perin said About the Monmouth County Reclamation CenterSits on 900 acres in Tinton Falls  Handles waste disposal for all 53 towns in Monmouth County. The center handles 400,000 tons of trash a year We use cookies to analyze user behavior in order to constantly improve the website for you.
