UXBRIDGE — Six weeks after his arrest on drunken driving charges
Uxbridge Schools Superintendent Michael Baldassarre has reached a separation agreement with the town
“This decision was made after careful consideration of what is in the best interests of our students
and the district as a whole,” School Committee members wrote in a statement sent to parents Tuesday
The Telegram & Gazette has requested a copy of the document under the Public Records Law
who also declined to discuss specifics of the agreement
“The parties have reached an amicable and mutually acceptable resolution of this matter,” Burke told the T&G
Baldassarre’s exit comes six weeks after state police arrested him on suspicion of drunken driving on Interstate 495 in Bolton
alleging he had been driving 100 mph and nearly caused a crash at 2:40 a.m
pleaded not guilty to the charge at his arraignment Jan
He is due back in court Friday for a pretrial hearing
A group of residents urged the School Committee to part ways with Baldassarre at a meeting in late January
with Casper at the time asking residents to be patient
It placed Baldassarre on paid leave at the time
and has held multiple closed-door meetings on the topic since
Baldassarre’s contract required the committee to provide a month’s notice if it intended to fire him
has been serving as interim superintendent since Baldassarre’s arrest
Casper told the T&G on Tuesday the committee would engage a third-party consultant to begin the search process for a full-time hire
The School Committee did not specifically reference Baldassarre's arrest in its statement Tuesday
“The past 32 months have seen improvements and have presented challenges and at the end it is clear that a change in leadership is necessary to move our district forward in the best manner," it wrote
“While there have been differences in approach and philosophy
we recognize Superintendent Baldassarre’s efforts and service during his time with us.”
Baldassarre was a controversial figure in town before his arrest
with residents and some town officials questioning his leadership multiple times since he became superintendent in July 2022
A budget crisis in the schools last May necessitated a special town meeting to get a budget, with Baldassarre at one point correcting a press release the district had sent out that contained inaccurate information
In the weeks prior to the budget being approved, Baldassarre clashed publicly with Town Manager Steve Sette
Baldassarre was also accused by a selectman of making false statements
and has had a tumultuous history with the School Committee
and his implied threat of a potential civil rights claim against some School Committee members within the same time period.”
Baldassarre was given a contract extension in January 2024 over the opposition of many residents
All but one of the School Committee members who voted to extend his contract either left or did not win reelection several months after the vote
In mid-May, four new members were elected to the School Committee
The school district paid Stephen Mandile $60,000 to settle a federal lawsuit he had filed after Baldassarre banned him from school property following an interaction outside Uxbridge High School
Baldassarre tried unsuccessfully to obtain a restraining order against Stephen Mandile following the incident
Shortly before she was elected to the School Committee
Jessica Mandile was fired from her job as a substitute teacher at an elementary school in town after coworkers alleged she had been rough with a student
Mandile previously told the T&G she believes her firing was retribution.

Celebrating with my girls for all the hard work we put in throughout the season
Invite any three people to dinner: “I’d invite Jarren Duran because I just watched the Red Sox documentary and he seems like he could give me good advice for when I’m down on myself in softball
I would invite Megan Moroney because she’s my biggest idol and I look up to her and I love her music
And I would invite my grandfather (Donald Gaskell) because he made me who I am as an athlete today and I’m very thankful for him.”

UXBRIDGE — Several Uxbridge residents Tuesday called for the ouster of Superintendent Michael Baldassarre ahead of a closed-door meeting between the recently arrested educator and the School Committee
“Our kids are making TikToks and laughing about the head of our district,” resident Tina Ryan told School Committee members ahead of an executive session they held with Baldassarre
Baldassarre, 51, was arraigned last week on multiple criminal charges including drunken driving after state police alleged he nearly caused a crash on Interstate 495 in Bolton after driving 100 mph
Baldassarre, who pleaded not guilty, has not commented on his arrest and the School Committee placed him on paid administrative leave last week.
Baldassarre’s contract
stipulates that the School Committee must give him 30 days of notice and the right to a hearing if it intends to fire him
After meeting for about an hour in executive session Tuesday
the committee read a statement in which Chairman Ben Casper acknowledged “the call for action from many community members” regarding Baldassarre in light of his charges
“While I’m not at liberty to discuss this confidential personnel matter in detail at this time
I want to ensure the community that the School Committee is committed to addressing the issues in a manner that best serves students and our community," he said
Casper said Baldassarre would remain on leave as the School Committee continued to “work through the issue
we ask the community for patience as the district complies with its legal obligations,” he said
adding it would provide future updates as appropriate
Casper confirmed after the meeting that Baldassarre will remain on paid leave
some who brought signs opposing Baldassarre
offered public comment urging the School Committee to part ways
a frequent critic of Baldassarre who ran unsuccessfully for School Committee last year
who held a sign with the same sentiment as she spoke
said the town was hurting as a result of the superintendent’s arrest
Finance Committee Vice Chairman Jim Hogan told the committee that
Baldassarre’s arrest would make it even more difficult to secure a budget in the coming year
Uxbridge made headlines last year when Town Meeting voted down the school budget
an episode that caught officials off guard and sent the district and its teachers into panic
some employees left for other districts and a Special Town Meeting was required in order to ensure the schools had funding for the year
Hogan said he believes opposition to Baldassarre’s tenure was the reason why the budget originally failed
He said while his interactions with Baldassarre have been fine
many interactions” with others that were not
“Your fight this year is going to be even worse if he is still here,” he said
“That’s something you seriously have to consider in this process.”
Resident Pat Stephan also spoke against Baldassarre
saying he had issued unheeded warnings about his character during the superintendent’s evaluation process
lamenting how many times controversy around the district has filled pages in the newspaper
Stephan said while he doesn’t have kids in the district
he’s concerned as a taxpayer how the town is viewed from the outside
“Let’s have a larger view and let’s do the right thing,” he said
chairwoman of the Uxbridge Special Education Parent Advisory Committee
said that superintendents should be a role model for students and staff
“(This is) not good character and not someone we want representing Uxbridge and our kids and our district.”
had not allowed for public participation via Zoom
which she said might have suppressed public comment
Casper said that was an oversight on his part
saying he had omitted public comment from the original agenda for Tuesday’s meeting and then added it after other members contacted him
the head of schools in Uxbridge since July 2022
was given a three-year contract extension last January over the opposition of many residents
His tenure has been controversial in Uxbridge including last year’s budget crisis during which he issued a press release with inaccurate information and clashed publicly with town officials
All but one of the School Committee members who voted to extend Baldassarre’s contract last January either left or did not win reelection several months after the vote
In mid-May, four new members were elected to the School Committee including Jessica Mandile
Baldassarre was denied a restraining order against Stephen Mandile after an incident outside Uxbridge High School in which he alleged Mandile placed him in fear
The district ended up settling a lawsuit Mandile brought over being no-trespassed from school property for $60,000
Jessica Mandile was fired as a substitute teacher shortly before her election after co-workers alleged she was rough with a student
She has told the T&G she believes her firing was retribution.
WORCESTER – Phoebe Carroll drove the lane for a basket. Mackenzie Reynolds drained a 3-pointer
but when that total nearly matches the three previous combined quarters
And when Carroll’s And-1, left-handed scoop shot turned into a three-point play
the Hopedale student section finally had a chance to let out a “Seven Nation Army” chant
But seconds after the Blue Raiders clipped a 14-point deficit down to two
Uxbridge’s Ava Rosborough converted a three-point play of her own with two and a half minutes remaining to squelch the late rally
The No. 3 seeded Spartans, who lost to Hopedale by 16 points nearly two months ago, held on to win their first Clark Tournament Small Division girls basketball championship with a 30-25 victory on Friday night
but overcoming a five-point first half and a 23-9 deficit after three quarters proved too much
“We burned a lot of energy scrounging to get back in it,” head coach Jason Rojee said
“Five points in a half is just inexcusable
but I don’t think we focused enough in the first half.”
The Raiders (16-5) topped the Spartans 49-33 on Dec
27 in the first round of the Millis Holiday Tournament
Uxbridge began a more pressing style of defense
which keyed a seven-game winning streak through late January
that pressure forced a number of turnovers and missed shots
“They beat us pretty soundly,” Uxbridge coach John Gniadek said of the first meeting
“We made a change in our strategy and really focused on being a more pressing
aggressive defensive team and it’s made a complete change in our season.”
After holding Hopedale to zero points in the second quarter
the Spartans (16-5) nearly turned the game into a rout
But Jenna Weeden’s 3-pointer and Carroll’s three-point play cut the team’s deficit to 25-23 before Uxbridge held on
Uxbridge slowly built its first-half lead thanks to Bailey Dzivasen
who scored nine first-half points and finished with a game-high 11
The Spartans have held six of their last seven opponents to under 31 points en route to winning the Clark title
“It’s unbelievable; I still can’t believe it myself,” Gniadek
“I told the girls midway through the season what a prestigious tournament this is and how important it is to the area
I was like ‘why can’t we win it?’ I kept reiterating that message to the girls over and over
so hopefully this gets a little momentum in basketball now.”
Hopedale had won 11 of its previous 12 games and will earn a top-two seed into the Division 5 state tournament when pairings are announced on Saturday
Rojee said the team must use Friday’s game as a learning experience
You can’t take your foot off the gas,” he said
“You can’t go into a game with any expectation that you’ll win without maximum effort.”

In agreeing to leave town following his arrest on drunken driving allegations
former Uxbridge Public Schools Superintendent Michael Baldassarre will be paid three months’ salary
A seven-page separation agreement obtained by the Telegram & Gazette through a public records request shows Baldassare
who agreed to part ways with the town effective March 4
That compensation will total about $40,000
and Baldassarre will also receive about $15,800 for 21 days of unused vacation
He was making $172,000 annually prior to his exit
Other terms of severance include that the district will provide a neutral reference
with only dates worked and the position held
if the superintendent’s office is contacted by potential future employers
Baldassarre agreed not to sue the town or any of its employees
for anything related to his employment up to the date of the agreement
The agreement at one point states that Baldassarre acknowledged making allegations through his attorney of violations of the State Ethics Law by School Committee members – allegations the document says are “disputed” and that the members deny
It also states that Baldassarre has been informed that the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
has requested the town provide “information and documentation related to your employment with the District related to your professional licensure."
“You acknowledge the District’s obligation to provide the requested information and documentation to DESE,” it states
and authorize such release despite the fact that it “may otherwise constitute a confidential personnel record."
School Committee Chairman Benjamin Casper declined to comment on the severance agreement
which includes a nondisparagement clause that covers both sides
told the T&G on Tuesday that the state education department's request had “nothing to do with his performance as the superintendent of schools.”
Baldassarre was arrested on accusations of drunken driving in January after a state trooper alleged he had driven 100 mph and nearly caused a crash on Interstate 495 in Bolton at 2:40 a.m
Burke defended his client’s professional accomplishments Wednesday
has spent his career as a “remarkable advocate” for all children
especially those with disabilities or dealing with emotional problems
Burke said Baldassarre helped increase grant funding for Uxbridge
and successfully settled four contracts since he stepped into the job in July 2022
Burke said test scores had also gone up under Baldassarre; asked for detail
Baldassarre provided a press release the district put out in September noting improvements in post-pandemic MCAS scores
economically disadvantaged students made double-digit increases in math proficiency in grades three
Baldassarre also provided a document from his self-evaluation in which he wrote that grade three students had showed a 17% jump in proficiency in English and an 8% increase in math from 2022 to 2024
Baldassarre’s tenure was controversial for reasons that generally related to criticism of his communication and relationships with community members and town officials
A budget crisis in the schools in May necessitated a Special Town Meeting to get a budget, with Baldassarre at one point correcting a press release that contained inaccurate information
Some residents of town alleged that breakdowns in trust with Baldassarre had led to the crisis; multiple town officials
Baldassarre was given a contract extension in January over the opposition of many residents
All but one of the School Committee members who voted to extend the contract either left or did not win reelection several months after the vote
In mid-May, four new members were elected to the School Committee, including one whose husband successfully sued the district over Baldassarre’s actions, and who alleged she was improperly fired as a substitute teacher.

UXBRIDGE — A swastika was found painted in an Uxbridge High School bathroom Wednesday
part of a concerning uptick in slurs they called out as unacceptable
this is not an isolated incident,” administrators wrote Wednesday in email to parents
“We have previously addressed other forms of racial slurs and discriminatory vandalism this academic year
Interim Superintendent Karen Dwyer and Uxbridge High Principal Michael Rubin wrote that staff found a swastika
in a girls bathroom Wednesday after school had closed
“This incident is particularly troubling as it occurs while many of our students are studying Elie Wiesel’s ‘Night,’” they wrote
“providing a stark contrast between learning about the Holocaust’s horrors and finding such hateful symbolism in our own school.”
Administrators wrote that the graffiti had been removed and they are investigating
“We are frustrated and disappointed by these continued acts
whether they are done for shock value or stem from genuine hatred,” they wrote
“While bathroom graffiti is unfortunately a reality in many schools
the use of hate symbols and slurs crosses a line that we cannot tolerate.”
said the community has an obligation to educate students about the harm such symbols cause
“We cannot and will not be indifferent to acts of hatred in our school
returning a request for comment sent to the district Thursday
said he takes such incidents of hate speech very seriously
said he believes in many cases high school students are unaware of the harm such actions cause
and that education on that point is crucial
Rubin said he and other administrators have worked hard to identify students responsible for about three to four incidents he said have taken place in the past two years
Rubin said he and other administrators went to far as to try handwriting analysis to determine the author
to try and make people understand this is not OK," he said
Rubin said he has been successful in identifying culprits in the past
In instances in which student-to-student hate is at issue
a school resource officer would be notified
Rubin said the school's investigative process has been validated by the federal government
and noted that many schools in the current climate are dealing with upticks in hate
He said that the district has great students
do not define the school or broader community
UXBRIDGE — Uxbridge Superintendent Michael Baldassarre is facing a drunken driving charge after police allege he drove 100 mph and nearly caused a crash on Interstate 495 in Bolton over the weekend
was arraigned in Clinton District Court Tuesday on criminal charges of operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent driving
and civil infractions for speeding and a marked lanes violation
He declined to comment as he left the courtroom
The Uxbridge School Committee is set to vote on the appointment of an interim superintendent Tuesday night
as well as to go into executive session to discuss an employee
More: Uxbridge school chief on leave after drunk driving arrest; interim superintendent named
According to a statement of facts filed in Clinton District Court
Baldassarre was arrested by state police on I-495 north at 2:40 a.m
Cardoso Filho wrote that he and a field training officer patrolling the highway observed Baldassarre’s 2022 Toyota Camry speeding and swerving before nearly causing a crash
The trooper said he observed the Camry driving at 100 mph in a 65 mph zone
“I observed the vehicle almost crash with the white vehicle operating adjacent to the subject’s vehicle in the left lane,” the trooper wrote in a report
adding that he then pulled the vehicle over with his emergency lights
The trooper said he informed Baldassarre he was being recorded on body-worn camera
He alleged Baldassarre’s speech was slurred and that he had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath
told him he’d had a couple of drinks of wine “maybe three hours ago.”
Filho said he arrested Baldassarre after his eyes showed evidence of impairment and after he either failed or refused to take several field sobriety tests including a preliminary breath test
Filho said Baldassarre was uncooperative at the state police Leominster barracks
refusing to answer whether he understood his rights
“Baldassarre verbally refused to answer if he consented to a breath test
and he did not sign the Statutory Rights and Consent Form indicating he refused to (take) the breath test,” Filho wrote
Filho said Baldassarre told him he wanted to take an “evidentiary blood test.” The trooper said he told Baldassarre he had a right to a comparison blood test at his own expense
but was only being asked to take a breath test
“Baldassarre was even given time to read the form himself as he could not comprehend what we were asking him to do,” Filho wrote
The trooper said that while inventorying items in Baldassarre’s possession
he found a receipt from the Victory Cigar Bar in Worcester from 11:15 p.m
two “Taylor 10 years Tawny" (a wine brand)
and told him he’d been traveling to his home in Concord from Worcester
Police seized Baldassarre’s license and he was released on personal recognizance after consultation with a bail clerk
Baldassarre informed the court he would retain a lawyer and asked for a pre-trial court date as soon as possible
Baldassarre was given a next date of March 3; a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf
Colby Longton ordered that Baldassarre not drive until he is licensed by the Registry of Motor Vehicles
Refusing to take a breathalyzer test in Massachusetts leads to an automatic license suspension for 180 days
Uxbridge School Committee Chairman Ben Casper declined to comment on the specifics of Baldassarre's arrest
or say whether he felt it disqualified him as superintendent
and he’ll be handling that personally," Casper said
adding that he appreciated Baldassarre making him aware of the issue prior to Tuesday's arraignment
Casper said that any action regarding Baldassarre's status as superintendent would only happen as a result of a School Committee vote
so it would not be proper for him to comment further individually
Baldassarre has been the head of schools in Uxbridge since July 2022. His career in education includes time as principal of Gardner High School and as the superintendent of the Ralph C
Baldassarre’s tenure has been controversial in Uxbridge
In the weeks prior to the budget being approved, Baldassarre clashed publicly with Town Manager Steve Sette, who accused him of throwing him under the bus.

In mid-May, four new members were elected to the School Committee, including Jessica Mandile
a restraining order against Stephen Mandile in Concord District Court after an incident outside Uxbridge High School in which he alleged Mandile placed him in fear
Mandile sued the schools in federal court after Baldassarre issued a no-trespass order for district property
The district ultimately rescinded the order and paid Mandile $60,000 in a settlement
Shortly before she was elected to School Committee
Jessica Mandile was fired from her job as a substitute teacher at an elementary school in town after coworkers alleged she was rough with a student

“A Ford pickup operated by a 45-year-old male from Barrie was westbound on Davis Dr. when he pulled out to pass a transport truck, travelling in the eastbound lane,” police said in a statement released Wednesday. “At the same time, a Dodge Journey operated by a 64-year-old male from Omemee was eastbound on Davis Dr. heading uphill.
“As the vehicles approached each other, each driver made an evasive manoeuvre to avoid colliding. The westbound Ford veered left off of the roadway, while the Dodge veered right off the roadway,” police explained.
“The result was both vehicles hitting head-on off of the roadway,” cops added.
A woman who was a passenger in the Dodge “suffered serious life-altering injuries” and had to be extricated from the vehicle, police said, adding the senior citizen was rushed to a trauma centre in Toronto where she remains in stable condition.

— A large pile of bricks and debris laid along the sidewalk and road in Uxbridge Thursday afternoon
The fire department confirmed a partial collapse of the building on South Main Street
They also say two people were sent to the hospital
but they are facing non-life threatening injuries
A number of businesses in this building were also forced to close on Thursday
"We responded last night for a roof collapse about 9 p.m.," said Chief Thomas Dion
"And we were able to clear the building
our early investigation looks like it was a load of water load on the roof
they're not going to be able to get through
which are bringing traffic around through north Uxbridge
Former State Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey was on scene Thursday getting drone footage
He says there's a sizable hole on the roof.
The fire department says their big question now is the safety of this building and whether or not people will be able to go back in it
Building inspectors and investigators were on scene on Thursday
and they're hoping to have an answer to that question in the near future

AGAWAM — The three-time defending MIAA Div
4 field hockey state champions weren’t ready to relinquish their crown on Tuesday
Fourth-seeded Frontier took on top-seeded Uxbridge in the Div
4 semifinals at Agawam High School and the Spartans quickly got to work
gaining five corners in the opening 15 minutes and turning one into a goal
Uxbridge struck twice in the final four minutes of the half and tacked on two goals in the second half of action
advancing to the final for the fourth straight season with a 5-0 victory over the Redhawks
in the semis on Tuesday — in the championship game at a date and time to be determined
“The score does not indicate how hard our girls worked tonight,” Frontier coach Missy Mahar said
“They had certain goals we were setting each quarter
They held them scoreless in the third quarter with only one quarter so there were big takeaways from a game like this
“I know it looks misleading with a 5-0 loss but I think they played their hearts out against a team that has won the last three state championships,” Mahar added
They followed the gameplan and tried to create opportunities when they could.”
The loss closes out the season for the Redhawks (18-3-2)
one in which they took home a share of the Suburban League title and lifted a Western Mass
Class C championship to go along with the state semifinal appearance
we reminded them that they were one of four teams in Division 4 still playing tonight,” Mahar said
Hopefully that’s how they can remember this season
I couldn’t have asked for anything more from them
While its offense was able to generate goals
it was the Uxbridge defense that made the difference on Tuesday
The Spartans (20-2) dominated possession and consistently kept the ball away from their goal
Frontier did not finish with a shot on goal
with Redhawk goalie Kyra Richards was called in to make 12 saves
The Spartans finished with a 12-0 corner advantage
“We knew the tall order coming into this,” Mahar said
“The one thing was they believed they had a chance and they worked for it
They played every minute as hard as the first
Uxbridge opened the scoring with 7:42 to go in the first off a corner
The Spartans sent it in to Kendall Gilmore and the junior took a dribble in before sending a pass across to Amelia Blood
with the junior smashing in the one-timer to give Uxbridge the early lead
The Spartans kept up the pressure throughout the first half
but the Redhawk defense did their job of limiting corners and shot attempts
flung it out to Gilmore who blasted a shot on goal from outside the box the circle
Aubrey Bouchard was there to get her stick on it and tip it past Richards to give the Spartans a 2-0 lead
It was a great individual play from Ava Rosborough that gave Uxbridge a 3-0 lead at the intermission
Gilmore sent a pass up the left flank to Rosborough
The freshman dribbled into the circle and fired a backhand shot that zipped into the right corner of the goal with 24 seconds showing on the clock
The Spartans added a goal with 10:49 to go in the contest off a corner
with Bouchard knocking in a shot off a pass from Julianna Casucci
Addie Blood took a shot that was deflected but Elyse Bouchard was there to corral the rebound and put it home to give the Spartans their 5-0 lead
The second half saw the Redhawk defense slow down the high flying Uxbridge attack
but the Spartans were able to capitalize on corner opportunities throughout
“We increased our defensive lines because they have such hard hits,” Mahar said
We had a gameplan overall and they stuck with it
We wanted to get the ball in the air and try to capitalize on field position at times and try to slow them down
We knew how fast they were and the tempo of their game.”

Residents of Shepherd’s Bush are presenting a petition to the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham calling on the Council to take urgent action to clean up and restore Shepherd’s Bush — particularly Uxbridge Road
So far 1,275 people have signed the petition
‘take urgent action to clean up and restore Shepherd’s Bush — particularly Uxbridge Road (100–500) — by supporting shopfront and streetscape improvements and tackling drug addicts
Posting on the social media platform Nextdoor
Noor A referred to the facelift Leyton High Rd received prior to the Olympics in east London
where ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures show attractively painted shop fronts
‘This is what Shepherd’s Bush could look like if you sign the petition.’ wrote Noor
Noor A posting about the petition on social media; images of Leyton
The facelift improved the image of the area and has been popular with the public
“They look more inviting and I think I’d be more likely to go into a nice looking shops,” wrote one Leyton resident
The residents of Shepherd’s Bush want:
‘targeted action to improve the visual condition and vibrancy of Uxbridge Road (particularly between numbers 100 and 500)
which has visibly deteriorated due to neglected shopfronts
and inconsistent Council oversight.’
‘Crime and anti-social behaviour thrive in neglected environments,’ they say
‘While the Council cannot control policing directly
it does have clear powers – and a responsibility – to address the environmental decline that fosters criminal activity and makes residents feel unsafe.’
Specifically they want the Council to develop a three
six and 12 month plan for physical and visual improvements
‘Numerous shopfronts are in a serious state of disrepair
temporary signage scrawled in marker pens or printed on A4 paper
and cloth banners serving as permanent signs
This isn’t just unprofessional – it makes the area look deprived and neglected
‘Flats above shops are visibly rundown
Fruit shops spilling out onto the road with trolleys parked on pavements making it dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists as well as unsightly
‘Residents live in this daily and visitors see it first
If the Council truly cares about regeneration
The petition organisers say some shops sit empty for months or years
‘contributing nothing to the community
the area is being saturated with low-quality
short-term-use businesses like chicken shops
which offer minimal diversity or uplift to the local economy.’
‘We are not asking for perfection – we’re asking for care
Citing the Leyton example and also a local council initiative in Deptford
they suggest ‘low-cost grants’ or temporary business rate relief schemes for businesses in exchange for visual improvements
They also want the Council to exercise greater discretion over business licensing and change-of-use approvals
‘why are so many new chicken shops being approved when what we desperately need is variety
The petition also demands the Council tackles the issues of drug use and begging
saying the area has become a hotspot for anti-social behaviour
‘The constant presence of drug users and beggars – loitering
and sleeping rough in doorways and public spaces has left the area feeling unsafe
‘Residents regularly report asked for money or intimidated on the street
We have found people sleeping outside our door on more than 1 occasion
has turned Shepherd’s Bush into a hotspot for anti-social behaviour that gives the impression of a forgotten and lawless place.’
with everything from suggestions for partnering with outreach and addiction support services
increasing the visibility of Council enforcement officers
exclusion zones or dispersal orders for repeat offenders
The ePetition runs until Sunday 22 June and can be found here: Uxbridge Road petition

The 11th-seeded Tigers held on for a wild 72-68 triple overtime victory over No
22 Uxbridge in the Round of 32 of the MIAA Division 4 state tournament
but Noah Hambley was the difference for South Hadley in the final overtime period
Hambley’s excellence from beyond the arc pushed the Tigers (16-5) out front in the third OT
before a late free throw from Noah Rivera put the game out of reach for Uxbridge
I’ve been blessed with great point guards throughout and he’s as good as any
That kid is special,” Tigers head coach Chris Gerber said on Hambley
who missed last week's Class B semifinal loss to Monument Mountain with an injury
was defended hard all night by the Spartans and still managed 20 points
The senior — who recently eclipsed 1,000 points — fouled out in OT
making South Hadley’s victory even more impressive
“The kid found a way to get 20 on one leg,” Gerber said
“Jack is an all-timer…he’s an all-time Tiger.”
Uxbridge was led by Brady Esposito’s 22 points
both teams remained deadlocked at 55-55 and 64-64 following the first two overtime periods
South Hadley then pulled away in triple OT to advance to the Round of 16
you’ll remember that one for 40-50 years,” Gerber said
“And the story will just keep getting better and better

(WLNE) — The Uxbridge Fire Department said that a building on Main Street partially collapsed
The roof of the building caved in around 9 p.m
and two occupants were taken to the hospital with minor injuries
The department said that Mendon Street will be closed until more assessment of the collapse due to a “concern of falling brick near that corner of the building.”
One of the building’s owners said the collapse led to flooding on the building’s ground floor

Springtide Music Festival is helping put Uxbridge on the map

the stacked lineup boasts dozens of performers and a wealth of Canadian talent performing across 12 different stages (including multiple venues) within less than a kilometre in downtown Uxbridge
With weekend wristbands on sale now — as well as single-day wristbands and single-venue passes — here are the five must-see acts playing Springtide Music Festival in 2025
Altered by MomA good time is guaranteed with Toronto's Altered by Mom

even throwing in the odd choreographed dance move
Casper SkullsCo-fronted by married couple Melanie St. Pierre-Bednis and Neil Bednis, there's a familial sweetness to the indie rock songs heard on the band's newly released Kit-Kat
which has the scrappy grit of classic college rock
Cuff the DukeFans who followed Canadian music in the aughts or early 2010s are likely familiar with alt-country mainstays Cuff the Duke — while newer fans are getting their long-overdue reintroduction as the band tour behind last year's Breaking Dawn
their first full-length in more than a decade
Rueben and the Dark & the Bullhorn SingersReuben Bullock specializes in cinematic indie folk songs that have made him a go-to artist for film and TV — and he's opening a whole new chapter of his career by teaming up with Blackfoot powwow group the Bullhorn Singers
