surrounded by his loving family on Thursday
MI to Jeffrey and Deborah (McEllis) Miller
Stephen made his career as a Jeweler at the store his father started
spending time socializing with his neighbors over a beer
He looked forward to spending summers at the lake in Michigan with his family
Stephen will be remembered as a genuinely kind person with a subtle
along with their sons: Nathan (Coral) Miller of Wheatfield
and Ned Miller of Kouts; granddaughters: Breena and Harloe Miller; mother and stepfather
Deborah and Mike Higgins; siblings: Jeff (Julie) Miller
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Kosanke Funeral Home
with a celebration of life service for Stephen and his son
memorial donations may be made to the family for Ned’s education in gemology to continue the family business
My thoughts and prayers are with your family always
Steve I will miss your friendship and conversations
Stephan being my nephew you could say I’m biased but so what
He was a great and beautiful person all around
Stephan had a great sense of humor sometimes a bit dry with that unmistakable twinkle in his eyes
My wife Marti and I loved playing golf with him especially when at least one of his brothers were around
We laughed ourselves silly at his/their antics and our scores were proof of that
Whenever the three of them got together (after a few drinks) it was another laugh fest
All three had that twinkle in their eyes that forecast mischief
Fortunately we have wonderful memories of Stephan as a man

to the late Fred and Dolores (Henderson) Doelling
Paul graduated from Valparaiso High School
studied finance and accounting at the University of Buffalo
and received his bachelor's degree from Valparaiso University
but his wallpaper hanging skills were legendary
He was able to hang all types of wallpaper with the greatest precision
and became highly sought after in the industry
The family business flourished under his leadership
Running one business was not enough for Paul though
with locations in downtown Valparaiso and South Bend
He was also proud to have a career with Waddell and Reed as a stockbroker and top salesman
Paul was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church
He valued his family more than anything and was his family’s biggest cheerleader in their endeavors
He will be remembered for his generosity towards others
and a strong work ethic in anything he did
He is survived by their daughters: Malissa (Douglas Howard) Doelling
and Paula (Roger Marshall) Doelling; grandchildren: Ashleigh Happer
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, IN, with private burial at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA of NWI. Click here to watch the recorded funeral service.
Very sorry to hear about the passing of Paul
I knew Paul through Mid America Decorating Stores
He was a very nice man always with a smile
So sorry to hear of the loss of Paulie and Bonnie
So many memories and love throughout the years
Prayers and love to their children and Fred and Karen
I just heard yesterday that Paul passed away
Then I read in his obit that Bonnie had passed away a month earlier
I'm not surprised that Paul couldn't live without Bonnie
He was a hard worker and a dedicated family man
Paul was fun to be around and we shared a lot of laughs when together
I was introduced to Paul nearly twenty years ago in a business setting
including the fire that took place at the business
I can honestly say that Paul was an excellent business man with very strong ethical character
I enjoyed meeting with Paul and the business he built over the years
