Bellotti said they'll continue to monitor and look for ways to mitigate flooding they stand ready to step in as soon as they can pump Hillsborough County will welcome its newest Whole Foods store as the grocer has secured a location in the Lithia Crossing plaza on Lithia Pinecrest Road just south of Bloomingdale Avenue in Valrico The new supermarket will be renovating the locations previously occupied by The Fresh Market and Stein Mart to create a 38,000-square-foot Whole Foods as well as two additional units that will be available for lease upon completion This location will be only the third Whole Foods store in all of Hillsborough County with Pinellas and Sarasota counties each having two locations recently revised the plaza’s site plan to show the 38,000-square-foot anchor What makes Whole Foods unique is the company’s focus on providing products free of hydrogenated fats and preservatives as well as banning over 500 ingredients in its food Amazon purchased Whole Foods Market in August 2017 for $13.7 billion There are 522 Whole Foods Market stores in the U.S with the Lithia location becoming Florida’s 36th Whole Foods Whole Foods is a relatively small operation locations numbering 2,464 locations and Publix numbering 1,439 as of the same date the same updated Lithia Crossing plaza site plans show a new traffic light installed on Lithia Pinecrest Road between Lithia Crossing plaza which has been in the works as far back as 2021 will allow a much safer access point to the grocers and tenants of either shopping center This additional signal will be the fourth within a 1 1/2-mile stretch of road so the timing of the lights will be paramount to their success with Lithia Pinecrest Road planned for a widening from two lanes to four from Lumsden Road to FishHawk Boulevard it will be interesting to see if the additional lanes will be accounted for at this time or revisited when the expansion begins Please visit www.wholefoodsmarket.com and https://kiterealty.com/properties/lithia-crossing for more information “We have been living in Valrico for the last 20 years and we love the community,” Lombardo said “I was a stay-at-home mom for 11 years so I could raise my kids I was on the Brandon Cowboys’ football board and then my boys grew up and didn’t need Mom anymore but not just any blog; Lombardo created a food blog “It started out as me posting pictures of things I made and recipes,” she said “I posted pictures of my kids at their birthday parties but then I got on Instagram and started posting pictures of the different restaurants I visited and the food I ordered while I was there so it was a natural progression for her to start posting her photos to her Instagram account Doing this took her blog to a whole new level so I’m now Tampa Food Mom on Instagram,” Lombardo said “This all kind of evolved during and right after the pandemic.” and they are all beautiful pictures of places restaurants and events Lombardo has been to since she started her Instagram account but now it’s posting pictures two and three times a day,” Lombardo said so Tampa Food Mom is my way of relaxing.” Lombardo is always forthcoming with the different restaurants or businesses she goes to and posts pictures of “I always make sure I let the business owner know what I’m doing,” Lombardo said “I don’t expect to have my meal compensated or discounted and I also never leave or make any kind of negative comment on my posts I want this to be a very positive place for my followers to visit.” If you would like to see the beautiful and fun photos that Lombardo shares on her Tampa Food Mom Instagram account, you can follow her on Instagram at www.instagram.com/tampafoodmom — Hillsborough County firefighters battled an apartment complex blaze on Saturday where several units caught fire Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to the apartment complex at about 10:47 p.m at 209 Monastery Court in Valrico after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting heavy smoke and visible flames The first crew arrived at the scene in under four minutes where several of the units had caught fire Firefighters brought the fire under control in under an hour preventing further damage to the surrounding units No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported The cause of the fire is currently under investigation Brews and Local ConnectionsWith a passion for scratch-made cuisine and giving back creating a destination for locals to connect MORE STORIES LIKE THISThe Crafts’ Successful Journey from New Parents to Children’s Lighthouse Franchisees How Robert Trujillo Expanded His Construction Business With UWRG Health Care Professional in the Non-Profit Space Brings TruBlue to North Pittsburgh Texas-Sized Ambition: How a Shared Dream Turned Into Three Crust Pizza Co. A couple of minutes later, the woman’s 12-year-old son also called 911 and said his father had just broken into the home. Moments later, gunshots rang out. Deputies arrived to find a vehicle engulfed in flames and a person lying beside it also on fire. There was a gun on the ground near the person. Deputies entered the house and found the boyfriend dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The estranged wife and her son were not harmed. Sheriff Chad Chronister during a news conference Wednesday identified the shooter as Philip E. Cordova, 51, and said detectives believe he is the man deputies found on fire. In an update Thursday, the sheriff’s office confirmed Cordova was the suspect. The sheriff’s office also said Alexis D. Bolivar-Dalis, 44, was the man Cordova shot. Property records show Cordova is a listed co-owner of the home. Tony Marrero is the criminal justice and breaking news reporter. Reach him at tmarrero@tampabay.com. Deputies responded about 4 p.m. Wednesday to a home in the 4200 block of Amber Ridge Lane after Michael Zammiello, 48, called to report an “accidental injury,” according to a news release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies found Shirley St. Pearre, 73, with a gunshot wound to her head. St. Pearre died at a local hospital. Michael Zammiello, 48, is pictured in a photo released by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office on Thursday. [ Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office ]Zammiello told detectives he accidentally shot St. Pearre inside the home, according to the sheriff’s office. He was arrested on one count of manslaughter with a weapon. Following an autopsy Thursday, the sheriff’s office announced that Zammiello is facing upgraded charges of premeditated first-degree murder with a weapon. “This was a senseless act of violence, and our detectives have worked tirelessly to ensure justice is served,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a news release. “The evidence uncovered in this investigation leaves no doubt about the suspect’s intent, and we will do everything in our power to hold him accountable for this horrific crime.” The sheriff’s office has not released more details, and an arrest affidavit was not immediately available. Records show Zammiello was being held at the Falkenburg Road Jail without bond. Bellamy sold fentanyl to Shawn Wallace, 35, which led to Wallace’s overdose in December 2023, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office announced Bellamy’s arrest in a news release Tuesday. His arrest affidavit provides more details on the investigation. Detectives searched Wallace’s phone and found Facebook Messenger messages with Bellamy dated Dec. 27 arranging to buy drugs from him, the affidavit states. Investigators also found a $33 CashApp payment from Wallace’s account to one linked to Bellamy. Detectives conducted surveillance on Bellamy’s home and on Jan. 11, 2024 detained him during a traffic stop.
