The Chiefs are conducting a rookie minicamp this weekend
With 87 players participating — 60 on a tryout basis — it’s hard to stand out
As noted by ArrowheadPride.com, Rice tight end Graham Walker is taking part
He’s the half-brother of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes
The son of Pat Mahomes Sr., Walker transferred to Rice last year
Walker had 44 catches for 515 yards and six touchdowns
His best season statistically came as a freshman in 2021
when Walker caught 53 passes for 658 yards and six touchdowns

Walker, a 6'3", 227-pound tight end, spent the first three seasons of his collegiate career at Brown before playing for Rice in 2024. He compiled 1,465 yards and 15 touchdowns while playing wide receiver with the Bears before switching to a tight end role and recording 252 receiving yards last season with the Owls.
According to Clayton Trutor of Seven Days in Vermont
Walker also works out alongside Mahomes and other NFL players at APEC in Fort Worth
Mahomes and Walker grew up in different states
with Mahomes being raised in Texas by his father and mother
Graham will have to prove himself among other talented rookies while also proving that he belongs in a talented tight end room that features veteran star Travis Kelce
Walker will be surrounded by a sea of rookies hoping to leave a good impression on the Chiefs
but he at least has a slight edge over others since he comes from the same family as the quarterback who has delivered three Super Bowls to Kansas City
MLB Trade Rumors
By Nick Deeds | May 3
Thomson did not rule out the possibility of a six-man rotation in the future
but with an day off on Monday the Phillies are planning to use five starters for at least the next couple of weeks
Walker’s been in the rotation since Opening Day and has pitched quite well in his six starts this year
The 32-year-old has an impressive 2.54 ERA (125 ERA+) in 28 1/3 innings of work
although his peripherals are not quite as impressive
and Walker’s 10.4% walk rate is much too high for a pitcher who’s missing bats at a below-average clip
He’s done well to mostly keep the barrel of the ball and induce soft contact so far
but peripherals like his 4.01 FIP and 4.71 SIERA suggest that he’s more of a number five type starter than the mid-rotation results he’s posting so far
That left some to suggest he was in danger of being cut ahead of Opening Day entering camp
but the injury to Suarez paved the way for Walker to not only remain on the roster but in the club’s rotation
Nola was experiencing a neck issue prior to today’s game
That led the Phillies to activate Suarez from the injured list today rather than the day of his planned start tomorrow in case they needed a starter to help cover for Nola
Nola wasn’t stopped from pitching by the neck problem and went on to pitch six shutout innings while striking out eight in the club’s 7-2 win over the Diamondbacks this evening
the last-minute injury scare serves as a reminder that an opening could open in the Philadelphia rotation at any given moment
and it would be a surprise to see Walker passed over for any spot start opportunities as long as he remains effective in his move back to the bullpen
Philadelphia Phillies Aaron Nola Ranger Suarez Taijuan Walker
Why is Andrew Painter only in low A ball this year
he made it to AA and pitched quite well there
He also pitched well in the Arizona Fall League Did he have an injury where he is starting out in A ball just to get his game back on track
He should be in AA if not AAA by now since he is their #1 pitching prospect
I meant to say that he made it to AA in 2022
and then pitched well in the AFL last year (2024) after his TJS
I would think he’d start in AA so long as he is healthy now
but my hope is eating $10 million of his contract means he plays elsewhere next year
Lets not let actual results influence ones opinion
Much better to have someone with a 5.00 ERA and 98 mph gas
Walker may have pitched just well enough to establish a little bit of trade value for a team like the Orioles
Dodgers or other team that’s getting desperate for starting pitching
Maybe the O’s pull the plug on Tyler O’Niell
as does Kenley Jansen & Chris Thompson
Any RH bat or RH RP that could potentially help this team in a part time role would be worth it for the Phillies
Or attach a couple young players/prospects to Walker like Johan Rojas
Mick Abel and/or an overachieving Otto Kemp for a Byron Buxton or Luis Robert
Walker makes way too much money to be traded straight up
The Phillies would need to eat at least 50% of his remaining contract to generate any interest in him
The Orioles are certainly not trading Tyler O’Neill for Walker not are Twins trading Buxton or the CWS trading Luis Robert for him & marginal prospects
You might be able to get the Yankees to trade DJL for him
but even then the Yankees would want some salary relief
DJL is a lot worse than walker right now so probably other way around
Walker and 3 top 15 prospects should get a conversation going at least
Could see the Phillies potentially eating $8 of 18mil for ‘26
and if Walker pitches to 4.00 ERA the rest of the year
that $10mil for one year could become an asset
Plus I mentioned the Phillies potentially taking back a bad contract in return to offset salary
I don’t think anyone is giving the White Sox anything better than Rojas
Rincones & Kemp for Luis Robert – even if he got semi-hot
@AC I guess you didn’t see Jansen’s blown save from Friday night
He got pummeled and man-handled and that’s being nice about it
The Phillies can do much better than Kenley Jansen, believe me
i guess you didnt see Spencer Schwellenbach last outing
He got pummeled and man-handled and that’s being nice about it
The Braves can do much better than Spencer Schwellenbach believe me
Sounds kinda silly because one bad outing makes their whole season
Just ignore that Jansen didnt give up a run for the whole prior month and had a bad outting after not pitching for over a week
If Marsh gets back on track or the Phils bring up Crawford
they’ll have a solid centerfield platoon
Robert has done nothing so far this season to make him a better current option than Rojas and a left-handed hitting platoon partner
Kemp is another player having a great season
He’s a guy the Phils will want to hold on to because of his bat and defensive versatility
Things are likely to get shuffled around in Philly before the start of next season
and a youth movement with guys like Crawford and Kemp may the direction the Phils will be heading to
Kemp could be a really appealing trade chip for the reasons you mentioned
and he’s not cracking the 26 man for more than a cup of coffee
Trade a few of these prospects I mentioned
they’re all 23-24 years old with no current path to the big league club
Cash them in for a legitimate CF’er – Robert
September 1st they call up Crawford & Stubby and whatever OF’er they acquire
Weston Wilson – is a solid bench for the post season
I totally agree the Phils should try to acquire centerfielder Jake McCarthy
especially since his stock is down at the moment
but he may turn out to be more than the Phils anticipated and more valuable to keep
Buxton and Varsho under ideal circumstances may have been considerations for the Phils at one time but no longer
The Phils won’t trade Rojas because he is their most improved player
and still a long way from being fully developed
Miller may need more time developing in the minors than many realize
and Crawford won’t be brought up until he’s absolutely ready or the Phils run into injury problems
The Phils will give Marsh more of a chance to get back on track before they replace him
He gives the Phils the occasional burst of energy they need to rally
Buxton & Jax from the Twins – Marsh would become the 4th OF’er
Next year he moves to LF when Crawford arrives
They have enough outfield depth to trade him
that would potentially accept a quartet of young talent
I’m not one for breaking up the current group
it can mess with the psyche of the clubhouse
Adding two solid big leaguers on reasonable salaries at those two spots (CF,RP)
Buxton and Jax from the Twins – Marsh would become the 4th OFer.” What are the Phils supposed to do with Kepler
These guys are all running circles around the Twins outfielders this season
They (Diamondbacks?) have enough outfield depth to trade him
Probably not.” What does McCarthy being a Phils’ fan from Scranton have to do with the Diamondbacks not wanting to trade him
Did you watch the Diamondbacks and Phils this weekend
you should realize that the Diamondbacks have multiple deficiencies as a team
but the outfield is clearly not one of them
McCarthy was sent to the minors because he was struggling
In light of the success of their current outfielders
McCarthy will have a tough time cracking the starting lineup again
which is the main reason the Diamondbacks will be willing to trade him – regardless of where he grew up
“I’m not one for breaking up the current group
it can mess with the psyche of the clubhouse.” Oh
wouldn’t that be a pity – messing with the psyche of the clubhouse
Did you ever wonder if the psyche of the clubhouse might be one of the reasons the Phils can’t win a championship
And what do you think will happen is the Phils don’t win the world series this season
Don’t you think the current group will be broken up
“Adding two solid big leaguers on reasonable salaries at those two spots (CF,RP)
is necessary for a deep run.” Don’t you realize that Rojas is rapidly becoming one of the top centerfielders in all of baseball this season
And don’t you realize the kind of relief pitcher the Phils need don’t come with reasonable salaries
Mentioned McCarthy because the D’Backs are deep in their OF depth
Don’t see those two teams lining up on an in season trade with each other
then absolutely they will shake things up in the offseason – just don’t see them moving anybody other than maybe Rojas
I disagree with your assessment that Rojas is becoming one of the best CF in MLB
And he’s grossly overrated as a defender because of his speed
That’s wonderful that he’s off to a good start
which is why I suggested selling high on him and the 3 prospects I mentioned (Abel
It’s very obvious the Phillies are short an arm in the pen
and we’ve seen enough of Rojas to know there’s room to upgrade
and will earn less than $5mil via arbitration for 2026
Jordan Leasure and other potential names I’ve mentioned on this site – all make under $3mil
A Relief pitcher is not going to break the bank
nor would it cost the Phillies a top 5 prospect
The Dodgers already have 20 starting pitchers lol
i had the privelege attending a doubleheader vs the Newark Bears while Rickey Henderson was on the team
so many great memories going to Surf games
Damn shame how they let that stadium rot away and the homeless living in it

Ruben Sierra – and blasting “Wild Thing” to a packed house and press box when Mitch activated himself
it was really fun meeting the players and getting their autographs
knowing some had major league service time
ozzie timmons was very generous with his time and i still have the cards he signed for me
one swing of the bat… put the home team up by 1
I’m surprised when you have 6 good starters you should let them be a 6 man rotation because almost all the time when a starter moves to the bullpen he does a lot worse
The only exception I can think of is John smoltz but that’s an outlier
i know your probably trolling but to name a few Dennis Eckersly
and some guy that pitched from the yankees his nickname was bed man or sleep man or something like that i heard he got some kind of award after he retired
“almost all the time when a starter moves to the bullpen he does a lot worse.”
was he a better reliever than he was a starter
When the mets tried converting him the last couple years as a starter he was almost 7 era and regularly got blown up then he became a loogy and did much better and lasted another what 10 years as a loogy and did well in that role
Eck counts but come on there’s a difference between being a starter in your early 20s compared to being a guy like taijuan who’s always been a starter until now
“almost all the time when a starter moves to the bullpen he does a lot worse”
hmm i dont see age or service time or anything like that in any statement
Its like me saying hey starting pitchers are amazing HR hitters but leave out only if they are less than a month away from the 43rd bday
But if you need another how about matt moore
when he converted over he was a good reliever for a couple years
Dude figured some things out and you reward him with the bully
You don’t know that he figured anything out
His last four starts feature a 13/9 K/W in 17.2 IPs
The Phils are moving Walker to the bullpen because Suarez is a free agent at the end of the season
and the Phils want to showcase him as a starter in the event they decide to trade him before the trade deadline
The fact that Walker is having a decent year as a starter and Suarez has already been a successful reliever clearly demonstrates how financial considerations frequently trump player management in professional sports
It might have more to do with the fact that
while they have been quite pleasantly surprised at the results for Taj
he is hardly a better option in the rotation than Ranger or anyone else
and it is hard to feel as if he is anything more than a 5th / 6th starter
while Ross becomes more of a regular middle relief option in the interim
It helps the pen just fine – especially if Romano and Ross keep on pitching as well as they have in most recent outings
there is a real logic to it all on its own
not withstanding $$ and potential trade value
Ignoring the results because his K/W ratio wasn’t impressive
Kinda like saying you don’t like a Lamborghini because off the sub par cup holders
2-Walker’s ERA will likely get worse
It’s like pulling to an inside straight because you hit an inside straight last time
Reality – baseball usually takes care of these things
Having the pitching depth is a really great problem to have
Walker will probably struggle in the bullpen
He’s probably still not over being snubbed in the 2023 playoffs
moves by a manager that make players neurotic and cause them to start doubting themselves
If the Phils rely on Ross or Romano to help them in the bullpen long-term this season
they’re about to sail into some rough waters
Ross and Romano may have had a few bright moments recently but
they’ve looked like batting practice pitchers rather than bullpen aces
the Phils should be trading for all the bullpen help they can get sooner than later
@OTB – I would rather have the Phils front office making these evaluations than you – based upon past is prologue
Bullpens are a work in progress for each and every team
and almost every reliever in the game outside of perhaps the top 20 arms are going to be rather inconsistent over the course of a season
If one wants to “predict” failure
at some point most of these guys will experience it for stretches of time
The Phils won’t be trading for multiples of back of the pen arms – the cost to risk ratio is stupid
Relax and let’s see how it plays out until we are closer to the deadline
Taj will be a swingman / longman / spot starter for now
Maybe Nola’s neck is an issue; maybe Ranger has a cranky back again…whatever
The Phils’ front office has been making its own decisions for a long time
The Phils have also failed to win a world series for a long time
Maybe they should consider more of the suggestions that are posted in this chat room
Guys like you filled the pages with pseudo-intellectual reasons why my suggestions to get Schwarber out of the leadoff spot and replace him with Stott would never work
you should realize that bullpens are a work in progress for weak teams
but not for championship teams who sort out any problems early in each season
then make the right alterations to create solid bullpens that become a strength to their team
Their bullpen is one of the Phils’ chief weaknesses
I never called for the Phils to acquire multiple back-end relievers
I simply wrote that acquiring Helsley as a closer would dramatically help the Phils if they really wanted to get to the playoffs
Ross and Romano wouldn’t help the Phils much in late innings and Alverado was no closer
thanks for your wise counseling and advice to relax and see how things play out
I’ve been doing exactly that with the Phils since the days of Connie Mack Stadium
That’s why I can continue to watch them and
not experience any rise in blood pressure
I was a Phillies fam back in the days when they fought every season with the Cubs to see who would get out of the cellar
I can certainly handle watching this latest edition of a Phillies all-star team that has everything they need to decisively beat weak teams
but not what they need to win a championship
and the failures of certain players individually and the Phillies collectively can be predicted
@OTB – I don’t spend much time on here
and don’t add too much to the commenting mix
but comments sections everywhere are simply littered with nonsense
normal folks that are fun and add a touch of humor and wisdom here and there…and they are never the keyboard warriors that attempt to overwhelm with volume
are fans that simply KNOW that they are smarter than the manager
have better instincts than every front office and have all of the answers
And they expend a ton of effort every day “proving” their mettle and burnishing their bonafides
Call me crazy but I am far more comfortable knowing that a HoF track GM / POBO is running the Phils
rather than our brave group of comments section heroes
They are not always right – it is silly to expect that – but I have yet to read anything from the fanboy peanut gallery that leads me to believe that anyone should be hired as an intern in the baseball operations department
Painter comes up before the deadline and semi impressive
I could absolutely see Ranger traded at the deadline
Long shot they are resigning him and could get a prospect or bench piece for him
@Boz – I have been to a lot of minor league games over the years
and seeing Painter up close and personal at the age of 19 (towards the end of his season before he was in ST the following year where he ended up needing TJS) was as eye-opening a moment as I have had watching young prospects over too many decades
The frame; the repeat mechanics; the incredibly easy velo; the nasty stuff; the balance; and the command on top of his elsewhere noted maturity and work ethic…I was awed
The kid was only 19 plus a few months (with visible zits – looked like he was just out of HS as well other than his size)
and he looked as close to major league ready as we see for the most part
highly-rated pitching prospects 4 and 5 years older that had major league success and were not a patch on what I saw from Painter
So – I am really hopeful and excited to watch this kid pitch…without trying to put the pressure on him to be an immediate star
Aren’t his mechanics what led to the TJ surgury
don’t trade players because they impending FAs
The reason Suarez is starting over Walker is because he is a much better pitcher
The fact of the matter is Suarez is a free agent at the end of this season
and his belief that he is worth more to another team than the Phils will be willing to pay him in the future is strongly supported by the fact that he is a more valuable pitcher than Walker and possibly a few other Phils starters
what the Phils care or would like to do is totally irrelevant to him
his leaving Philly during or after this season is a fait accompli
The Phils don’t always trade pending free agents
As hard as this may be to fully comprehend
That’s why so many of them do so much better when they leave Philly and join another team
The Phillies won’t trade Suarez if he is pitching well
and Suarez is starting because he is a better pitcher than Walker
When Painter arrives as the 5th starter…Walker AND Suarez will be in the bull pen
Suárez will be gone as a free agent when Painter gets in the starting five
Phillies fans are expecting way to much from a pitcher who is in the minors and has missed two seasons
I’m sure Walker will be getting more opportunities to start
Walker won’t help the pen….he’s not built for it emotionally….his up and down characteristics are a symptom of this…like Seranthony Dominguez…he can give you the slop innings I guess

He could emerge as a late-inning option or he could wind up later this season in a six-man rotation
But could he eventually emerge as a late-inning option
“Maybe,” manager Rob Thomson said Sunday before a rainy series finale against the Diamondbacks at Citizens Bank Park
“I’ve seen guys go to the pen and everything ticks up

Walker posted a 2.54 ERA in six starts while Suárez was working his way back from spring-training back stiffness
The Phillies put Walker on an offseason program designed to recover lost velocity
the average velocity on his four-seam fastball has risen to 92.3 mph from 91.5 mph last season
The Phillies also want to be careful with Jesús Luzardo
who didn’t pitch beyond June 16 last season with the Marlins because of injuries
Thomson and pitching coach Caleb Cotham must weigh the value of keeping Walker’s arm stretched out as a No
6 starter with the possibility that he could help a bullpen that could use another high-leverage arm
Thomson believes Walker is willing to take on either role
“It’s not that he’s happy going to the bullpen,” Thomson said
The bullpen ranks 24th in the majors with a 4.71 ERA
“I think how you go about it is you think of him as sort of a long guy
“He’s so strong and he’s such an athlete that I think he’d transition well to it
Bryce Harper went 13 games without a homer before his opposite-field shot to left field against Diamondbacks lefty Eduardo Rodríguez in the first inning
“There’s not a whole lot of slug there right now

Thomson did give Harper “a half-day” off by using him as the designated hitter
Harper started at first base in the season’s first 33 games
“Maybe in between the at-bats he can get some extra work and hone his swing a little bit,” Thomson said
His expectations of himself are higher than anybody else
He knows how important he is to the ballclub and to the city and the franchise
With Harper as the DH, Kyle Schwarber made his second start of the season in left field
Weston Wilson started at first base in place of Harper
Schwarber and Wilson also homered in the Phillies’ 11-9 loss in 10 innings
Nola said he felt better after pitching with tightness in the right side of his neck Saturday
doesn’t expect the issue to impact his next start
Schwarber extended his career-best on-base streak to 40 consecutive games with a first-inning walk
It’s the longest active streak in baseball and the longest by a Phillies hitter since Odúbel Herrera’s 45-gamer in 2017-18
3.48 ERA) is slated to start the series opener against Rays righty Drew Rasmussen (1-2
Kyle Walker answers your questionsImage source
Getty ImagesPublished5 May 2025England and AC Milan defender Kyle Walker has been answering your questions on the latest Q&A edition of his podcast
From would he beat Thierry Henry in a race to what he would have done if he wasn't a footballer
Walker provides insight into his life on and off the pitch alongside co-host Michael Brown
If you would like Kyle Walker and Michael Brown to answer your question
something football-related or a completely random topic
So Strong Sterling and a story about Donald Trump
Question: You're known for your phenomenal speed
Answer: I was very close to doing athletics but it just came to a point in the career in Sheffield that they said pick or choose between football and running
I did run for Sheffield - I did the 100m and the 800m
used to travel with me on a Saturday for football and then a Sunday with athletics
I think it's paid off within football
I think football was the right decision for me to do
Additional question from Michael Brown: When you see Thierry Henry in his peak
Jack Grealish said this in the Champions League and it's one of those things
I'd say [my prime] was four years ago
I think four years ago I was probably my quickest
that's clear for everyone to see with the goals he scored
but I do think that defenders [then] were probably not at the standard that defenders are now with the athleticism
that's no disrespect to any of the defenders for the past age
but I do think that the game has developed a little bit
Thierry Henry scored 175 goals in 258 Premier League appearances for Arsenal
who co-hosts the Elis James and John Robins Show on BBC Radio 5 Live: Were you always the best player when you were growing up - or where there better players who had more natural talent than you but maybe didn't work as hard
It got to a period at under-14 level - and I had been doing so well up until that [stage] - everyone developed and went through a growth spurt and I just stayed the same size that I was
which was quite small at the time and I found it very difficult
But I think they're the ones that build certain players to go in certain directions
It was going so well for me and very easy up until that time
and then all of a sudden I got to under-14s
under-15s where it's crunch time and you need that scholarship and I didn't grow as the other ones grew
That's just part and parcel of football and life
that people develop at different times and you can be a late bloomer
Our boys now are a little bit on the smaller side and you look at the other kids in their age group and they are a little bit more developed
it's just about the timing being right and fitting in with the football schedule
if you're ever having setbacks or things have gone well and are not going so well now
you keep working hard and use that as motivation to make sure you get back to where you want to be
Question: Which footballer bench presses the most
Answer: I don't do much gym [work] and I definitely don't lift heavy just because I think I would balloon if I did
I would say probably Bayo [Adebayo Akinfenwa]
he's the one who jumps to mind when I used to see him benching at Northampton when I played with him
Put the ball two metres either side of him and he couldn't move
It was like going around a double decker bus when you were trying to go around him and nick the ball from him
he has been for a number of years now and he can lift very heavy
Adebayo Akinfenwa scored 74 goals in 188 games across his two spells at Northampton Town
Question: Who is the most famous person that you have met at your game
very keen football fan for someone of the royal family to turn up at the games as he did in the Euros
at the Euros final and to say the speeches that he did - that's a testament to him and it's a massive honour to be in his presence
You just see the aura that he carries and you know the passion that he has for football as well
so I would definitely say Prince Harry is right up there
Question from comedian Matt Lucas: What profession would you have gone into if you hadn't been a footballer
Answer: I would love to have been a golfer
I've got a bit of an obsession with trainers
anyone that knows me knows I do like my trainers
I used to be in awe of people at Foot Locker for some reason
that would have been something that I would have been over the moon with
they always had great trainers on and everything so I would have said Foot Locker back in the day

With recent news of the shoulder injury to Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Walker Buehler
the Red Sox could soon be looking for an experienced and reliable pitcher to fill his spot in the rotation
As early as it is in the season and with the extent of Buehler's injury unknown
Boston also may very well not want to jump the gun and make an early-season trade
here are three pitchers the Red Sox should go after
Heaney has been a below-.500 pitcher record wise
but this season he has been a bit better than that in his first campaign with the Pittsburgh Pirates
Heaney is currently 2-2 with an ERA of 2.50 across 36 innings and six starts
His most recent start against the Chicago Cubs was the worst of his season
He allowed four runs in 4 2/3 innings and did not record a single strikeout for the first time all season
That starts seems to be a bit of an outlier
as it was one of only two starts in which Heaney has allowed multiple runs
as well as just the second time he's recorded less than six strikeouts in an outing
He could give Boston another left-handed arm along with Garrett Crochet and could move to the same division as the Yankees
who he threw seven innings of one run baseball against
Alcántara was expected to be the most-targeted starting pitcher at this season's trade deadline
Alcántara has an 8.31 ERA through six starts and just 19 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched
He's allowed multiple runs in each of his six starts and does not look like the pitcher that won the NL Cy Young award just two seasons ago
Boston may be able to pull off a trade for Alcántara without giving up its entire farm system
A change of scenery from a bad Marlins team to a playoff contending Red Sox team could do wonders for the 29-year-old right-hander
it does not seem like Kikuchi's name has been mentioned much when early-season trade deadline targets have been discussed
That could be because he's making over $20 million per year
or it could be because he's just been forgotten about on a very bad Los Angeles Angels team
Boston should definitely be calling about the left-hander who
has a manageable ERA of 4.21 in seven starts
He has been roughed up by two bad offenses in the Tampa Bay Rays and Minnesota Twins
but those could be early season kinks that he's trying to work out
Kikuchi would be a great fit in Boston and could be a huge piece of helping the Red Sox get back to the postseason for the first time since 2021

Red Sox place Buehler (shoulder inflammation) on IL as Wong (pinkie) returnsMay 2nd
BOSTON -- The Red Sox welcomed catcher Connor Wong back from the 10-day injured list Friday, but immediately put another key player on the 15-day IL in veteran starter Walker Buehler (right shoulder inflammation)
The news on Buehler, who underwent a battery of tests in Boston on Thursday while the club was completing a three-game series in Toronto
was about as good as the club could have hoped for
“We don't think it's that serious,” said Red Sox manager Alex Cora
“Miss two starts and hopefully come back as soon as the [15] days are over.”
Right-hander Hunter Dobbins, Boston’s No. 14 prospect per MLB Pipeline
is likely to be recalled from Triple-A Worcester to start Saturday’s game at home against the Twins in place of Buehler
Dobbins was called up for two spot starts early in the season and performed well
Buehler tossed six innings and allowed three runs in a win at Cleveland on Saturday in his most recent start
Buehler’s shoulder didn’t bounce back well from that outing and now the Red Sox are taking a conservative approach with a player who has battled his share of injuries in recent years
Buehler’s move to the IL was retroactive to Tuesday
Buehler would be in position to return by mid-month
Buehler is 4-1 with a 4.28 ERA in 33 2/3 innings
Meanwhile, Wong made a swift return to the roster after fracturing his left pinkie finger on catcher’s interference on April 7
who homered in the third and final game of his Minor League rehab assignment on Thursday
was inserted into Friday night’s lineup for Boston
enough so that Cora might go into more of a job-sharing arrangement with his two catchers rather than having a clear starter and backup
“Narvy caught the three games in Toronto,” Cora said
“We thought it was a good day for Connor to get here and catch [Brayan] Bello
He’s here and we know he’s going to contribute.”
How does Cora envision the playing time breaking down
Vermont native Graham Walker's bid to make an NFL roster has brought him to familiar territory. Walker is currently participating at the rookie minicamp tryout for the Kansas City Chiefs, home to his famous half-brother, Patrick Mahomes
the superstar quarterback and three-time Super Bowl MVP
A former Champlain Valley Union High School standout, Walker is one of 60 players hoping to land a contract with the Chiefs during their minicamp
Walker and Patrick Mahomes share a father, Pat Mahomes, Sr., who played in the MLB from 1992-2003. Walker grew up in Shelburne and Hinesburg and was raised by his mother Jessamyn Walker, and stepfather, Gerry Howatt, according to a recent Seven Days feature story on Graham Walker

Walker was an all-state football and basketball player at CVU before opting to go to Avon Old Farms
Walker spent four seasons (2020-2023) at Brown University
where he earned All-Ivy honors and finished with 1,496 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns in 27 games
227-pound Walker moved from receiver to tight end and caught 24 balls for 252 yards

He barely played in each of his first two seasons in the league and is now playing playoff minutes against the No
There is a lot to like about Walker's potential
but one thing is becoming clear--the Pacers should cut him from the playoff rotation due to his playstyle on both sides of the ball
Jarace Walker's career with the Indiana Pacers up to this point has been an interesting one
Walker is an interesting player as it is clear he has improved in his second season with the Pacers
but probably not enough to justify giving him consistent playoff minutes
The second-year forward provides some value on both sides of the ball
for the rest of the series against Cleveland
the Pacers might be better off keeping him on the bench
A lot has been said about the Pacers' elite offense
which is based on the team's energy and ball movement
Walker does not contribute much in this area
Walker has a lot of potential and can be valuable in certain situations
but as the Pacers look to pull off the upset against the Cavaliers
they need to rely on their strengths and advantages
With their ball movement being one of them
it makes sense for the Pacers to cut Walker out of the rotation
or at least just give him fewer minutes in this series
Walker still leaves a lot to be desired on the defensive side of the ball
but he was a negative defensively when on the court against the Cavaliers
who finished the regular season as the best offensive team in the NBA
This is not to say Walker does not deserve a spot on Indiana's roster
there was some serious doubt about his future with the Pacers
Walker played well and showcased his potential
The Houston alum provides value and is capable of being a big contributor for the long run
he leaves too much to be desired on the court to justify playing him consistently against Cleveland
this still remains an intriguing narrative to follow the rest of the way

PHILADELPHIA — As the dust settled from a chaotic 11-9 Phillies loss in 10 innings
a game that featured many self-inflicted wounds
there was one prevailing thought in the clubhouse
we won the series already,’” Harper said of Sunday’s defeat against the Arizona Diamondbacks
They settled for a 4-2 homestand and two series wins
they did not misfire when they had chances to secure series sweeps
that is one difference between the 2025 version and the one that preceded it
The Phillies’ first and third basemen last season ranked second in MLB with an .811 OPS
They collected 95 doubles — 19 more than the next-closest team
Harper and Alec Bohm have yet to discover consistent power strokes
The infield corners have produced a .664 OPS in 2025
Bohm smacked a double to the opposite field; it was his first extra-base hit since April 20
“He had a ball (Saturday) night that I thought had a chance to go out,” manager Rob Thomson said
“and he’s hit a couple balls like that lately
They’ve been waiting for a Harper hot streak
he was more upset about chasing two pitches in the ninth inning against Shelby Miller and a hard flyout to center in the 10th inning with the tying runs on base
Harper is “really the last guy I worry about,” Thomson said
But the failures in important moments have hurt
“Especially a guy like him because he puts a lot of pressure on himself,” Thomson said before Sunday’s game
“His expectations of himself are higher than anybody else
And he knows how important he is to the ballclub
But I can tell you this: He’s handled it a lot better than he has in the past this year.”
It wasn’t until the middle of the ninth inning Sunday that Taijuan Walker traveled to his new home
Walker had thrown 85 pitches Thursday against the Washington Nationals
then used Sunday morning for a side bullpen session
he started to warm up because the Phillies had no one else
How this whole arrangement will work is unclear
The Phillies are happy to have a scheduled off day Monday because the entire bullpen could use it
But Thomson has a difficult balance to strike
He has a few late-inning relievers he trusts
He has numerous pitchers who can provide bulk
Orion Kerkering entered in the fourth inning with the Phillies down big
Thomson had to use all of his high-leverage relievers while trailing Sunday
He pushed José Alvarado into a second inning for the third time this season
The Phillies opened a roster spot for Ranger Suárez by placing José Ruiz on the injured list with neck spasms
and while his raw stuff entices the Phillies
they could soon reach a point where they use that bullpen spot as a rotating tryout for minor-league arms
who pitched well Sunday in the second of back-to-back days
But he has little experience as a traditional reliever
Walker has stated his preference: He’d like to be a starter. The Phillies do not want to run a six-man rotation right now; Walker could make a spot start during their West Coast trip later in the month
They will try to do with Walker what they could not do with Spencer Turnbull at this time last season — keep him sharp and healthy as a long reliever
It’s unlikely the Phillies would ever use Walker as a traditional setup man who can go on back-to-back days or three out of four days
Maybe his arsenal ticks upward in shorter bursts
“He’s so strong and he’s such an athlete,” Thomson said
heading to the bullpen in the ninth inning to prepare for a hasty appearance as proof that he’s willing to adapt
“Being the competitor that he is and the teammate that he is
“It’s not that he’s happy going to the bullpen
The Phillies are slated to face six right-handed starters during their six-game road trip to Tampa Bay and Cleveland
who is hitting .277/.368/.494 against righties this season
He did not start Sunday with a lefty on the mound; Weston Wilson effectively replaced him in the lineup
Wilson struck out in his first two at-bats against lefty starter Eduardo Rodriguez
then crushed a three-run homer against righty reliever Juan Morillo
who was pitching in the majors for the first time in two years
But Kepler’s at-bats against righties have been far better
He’s hit the ball at a 91.5 mph average compared to an 86.1 mph average exit velocity against lefties
Kepler attributed some of it to not seeing lefties with any frequency
so long as the Phillies have a suitable partner for Kepler
When asked if Kepler could earn more time against lefties
“I hope so.” But the manager’s actions indicate the Phillies are committed to the platoon advantage
They have sought it at second base with Bryson Stott sitting so Edmundo Sosa can face lefties
The Phillies probably have a platoon in center field
“I usually try to approach lefties just like righties,” Kepler said
“It just gets a little harder when you don’t get to see them as routinely as you do the righties
I think the righties on the bench would say the same things about seeing righties because they only get to see lefties.”
But they are more common than ever because pitching is better than ever
a team has nine regulars who play every day and bat in the same spots in the order
No team in MLB this season has built a roster like that
“I get some more shots here in the near future against lefties.”

the former commander of the Red Room had to take the hit to create the shock and surprise needed to establish that this film was willing to do anything to keep its audience on the edge
Antonia Dreykov's involvement was much larger and brought extra laughs at the expense of junior varsity Captain America
Screenwriter Eric Pearson told Polygon he had mapped out that her previous brainwashing would result in a fragmented memory and occasionally see her squaring off with Walker in the film
she was struggling with her own memory-loss stuff
and there was a gag where she just kept restarting the fight and forgetting that they had made up and become friends," explained Pearson
"They would be discussing the plan of how to get out [of the vault]

it turns out the person responsible for killing Taskmaster in the film initially had a very close bond with her
kindred spirits are found between Antonia and Ava

Described as "a pretty big subplot," Pearson revealed they connected "as people who'd grown up in labs and been controlled that way." By going on this journey of escaping their restraint

Buehler's next start in flux due to right shoulder concernsMay 1st
TORONTO -- For Walker Buehler
it was refreshing for the right-hander to come into the season without any health issues
something that hadn’t happened for him in years
Red Sox manager Alex Cora revealed that it is uncertain when Buehler will make his next start
While the Red Sox were completing a three-game series in Toronto
Buehler was back in Boston undergoing tests
“We're working on a few things regarding Walker
We’ll see where we’re at over the weekend,” said Cora
“He hasn't bounced back the way we wanted
In addition to the uncertainty surrounding Buehler, Boston scratched American League Rookie of the Year candidate Kristian Campbell from Thursday’s lineup with right rib discomfort. The club’s No. 2 prospect
Jarren Duran moved from left to center and Rob Refsnyder was inserted into the lineup to play left
Buehler went 4-1 with a 4.28 ERA in his first six starts for the Red Sox
In his most recent start on April 26 at Cleveland
Buehler allowed three runs over six innings while pitching his team to a 7-3 victory
It was Buehler’s third quality start in his last four appearances
Brayan Bello will lead the Sox into a three-game series at home against the Twins on Friday
Buehler likely would have started Saturday
Garrett Crochet takes the ball in the Sunday afternoon finale against Minnesota
Buehler’s shoulder ailment comes at a time when Boston’s starting rotation was back to full strength with Lucas Giolito turning in a strong start upon his return to action on Wednesday night
Richard Fitts, who gave the Red Sox three strong starts earlier in the eason, has been on the 15-day injured list since April 13 with right pectoral tightness. The club’s No. 15 prospect isn’t an imminent option
per Cora’s report that the big righty’s latest progression is playing long toss out to 120 feet
who moved to the bullpen to make room for Giolito
could be re-inserted into the rotation if Buehler needs to go on the 15-day injured list
Another option is No. 14 prospect Hunter Dobbins
While the Red Sox have much better starting depth than they’ve had in years
Buehler is one of the mainstays in the rotation
After spending his seven seasons with the Dodgers
the two-time World Series champion signed a one-year
the Red Sox represented a strong landing spot to boost his value when he will again be a free agent in November
Buehler’s veteran cache and postseason experience and leadership qualities made him an ideal fit behind 25-year-old ace Crochet
Both sides hope his current shoulder issue is a small bump in the road

Kenneth Walker III, an Offensive Rookie of the Year finalist in 2022, is the leader of the group, but there's also Zach Charbonnet, a 2023 second-round pick who took major steps forward in Year 2. There's also Kenny McIntosh and rookie Damien Martinez
so the Seahawks have plenty of options at the position
this depth can also create a logjam in the backfield
which would definitely be a problem to address
To solve this problem, Bleacher Report's Alex Kay believes the Seahawks should trade away Walker
their leading rusher in each of their past three seasons
Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III celebrates after a touchdown catch against the Atlanta Falcons
/ Brett Davis-Imagn Images"The Seattle Seahawks have a surprising amount of running back depth going into the 2025 season
They could capitalize on this situation and help bring some clarity to their backfield by shipping off incumbent starter Kenneth Walker III this offseason
"One of the main reasons to part ways with Walker now is that he’s entering the final year of his rookie contract
While he showed star potential as a rookie by rushing for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns on 228 totes
he hasn’t built on that performance and has instead trended in the opposite direction."
Walker's production has indeed seen a noticeable dip over the past couple of years
he finished with a career-low 573 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games
yards per game (52.1) and attempts per game (13.9) were all career-lows as well
If the Seahawks believe Walker won't get back to his rookie form, then it may make sense to trade him ahead of the final year of his deal
Thanks to their aforementioned depth at the position
they could survive his loss without much issue
Walker is still a young player with a lot of upside
and his value may be at a low point right now
it might make more sense for Seattle to hang on to him and see if he can get back on track this year

and for a Lakers team desperately coveting a starting-caliber
it's easy to see how Los Angeles could value him in their lineup
and could even be willing to pay a steep price to do so
based on the feelings on Kessler inside the Jazz's building
don't hold your breath on Utah being in the market to deal their young big man anytime soon
According to The Athletic insider Tony Jones, the Jazz have no desire to trade Kessler this offseason
and would only do so if they received an offer they couldn't refuse
"The Jazz don't have any desire to trade Walker [Kessler] whatsoever," Jones said
it's going to be for something they would be a fool to say no to."
Jones noted that Los Angeles previously made a push for Kessler at this year's deadline
and even put together a better package than a first-round pick and two first-round swaps
though he didn't dive into the specifics of the complete offer
it shows just how highly the Jazz value Kessler for their future plans
and have no intentions to ship him anywhere else
The third-year big man finished last season averaging 11.1 points
and 2.4 blocks on 66.3% shooting from the field within 58 games
a potential catalyst for this team's defensive improvement
and his showcase of clear and strong development this past year
it's hard to see an opposing front office moving the mountains required to make a trade for him
a deal may require extensive first round draft capital
and even a promising young player on the roster like Austin Reaves or Dalton Knecht
That might be a cost too extensive for Los Angeles to forfeit
even for someone who would fill a massive need like Kessler
Kessler will instead be primed for a rookie extension opening later this summer
giving Utah the chance to hammer out a new multi-year contract to keep him in the fold
and perhaps nix any trade discussions surrounding his name moving forward
But with a few months to go until Kessler and the Jazz officially put pen to paper
don't be shocked to see a couple of teams around the league try their hand to pry away Utah's promising young center
to the late Avert Renus and Fannie Lou Corbin Curry
He was also preceded in death by his wife Jean Smallwood Curry
a great grandson Jason “Jay” Laine Edward Richardson
“Pete” Curry and his wife Doretta
Survivors include two children Kenda Jean Curry Shinault of LaGrange
KY; a granddaughter Tiffany Elaine Dunaway (Jason); two great grandchildren Brynna Dylaine Richardson (Jackson) and Ivy Jean Curry; two great great grandchildren Josef and Mia Mason; a brother Lewis Curry (JoAnn) of Columbia
KY; twin sisters Beulah Carter (Stanley) and Eula Helm both of Columbia
KY; a sister-in-law Marie Curry of Louisville
Curry attended Buckner Baptist Church in Buckner
He was devoted to God and his wife of 61 years; he was a simple man who absolutely cherished his family
He was “old school” in that he would fix it before buying something new
Each spring he loved plowing his garden to plant and can tomatoes along with other vegetables
He kept up with politics and current events
came from time spent with his grandchildren

Where does Walker stand in Phils' rotation with Ranger nearing return?May 2nd
PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies have a problem on their hands
It’s a good problem, but even good ones need to be solved. The Phils will have six healthy starting pitchers beginning on Sunday, when Ranger Suárez returns from the injured list to make his season debut against Arizona at Citizens Bank Park
Suárez has been sidelined since the spring because of a sore back
but he said on Thursday it hasn’t bothered him since March
“Everything is going according to plan,” he said through the team’s interpreter
But the Phillies are unlikely to employ a six-man rotation upon Suárez’s return
which means somebody is going to the bullpen next week
The most likely candidate is right-hander Taijuan Walker, who started Thursday night’s 4-2 loss to the Nationals
Walker has resuscitated his career following an abysmal 2024
going 1-3 with a 2.54 ERA in six starts as Suárez’s replacement
I want to be a starting pitcher,” Walker said
“I feel like I’ve done my job well enough to be in the rotation
so we’ll talk to them and see what happens.”
Walker allowed four runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks to go with two strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings on Thursday
“Ranger coming back is such a bonus for us
It’s always a good problem to have when you have guys throwing the ball well
Walker finds himself in the same position as Spencer Turnbull was last season
Turnbull went 2-0 with a 1.67 ERA in six starts at Walker’s replacement
the Phillies moved Turnbull to the bullpen
even though his performance did not warrant a demotion
has pitched well enough to remain in the rotation
Aaron Nola and Cristopher Sánchez aren’t going anywhere
even though the Phils have said repeatedly for weeks that they have had no conversations about moving him to the bullpen
but they want him to start because he has shown when he is healthy
he can be one of the best pitchers in baseball
Teams don’t take a pitcher like that and make him a reliever in May
Suárez smiled when asked if he would be open to pitching out of the bullpen at some point later this year
Suárez will be a free agent after the season
so there are millions of reasons why Suárez personally would want to remain in the rotation
it’s going to depend on the context,” Suárez said
I obviously want to be in the rotation all the time
I want to be a starting pitcher all the time
One of the reasons the Phillies are unlikely to use a six-man rotation is because they would go from an eight-man to a seven-man bullpen
A seven-man ‘pen would need the flexibility to shuttle pitchers to and from Triple-A Lehigh Valley because they would be leaning on fewer relievers
Sign up to receive our daily Morning Lineup to stay in the know about the latest trending topics around Major League Baseball
The current bullpen has only two relievers with options: left-hander Tanner Banks and right-hander Orion Kerkering
The Phillies are trying to address that. On Thursday, they acquired right-hander Daniel Robert from Texas for pitching prospect Enrique Segura
But he gives Philadelphia another potential optionable reliever
along with others on the 40-man roster like Seth Johnson
the most likely move is Walker joining the ‘pen
“We’re still walking through it,” manager Rob Thomson said
Thomson said the only thing they really know is that Wheeler will start on Tuesday against the Rays in Tampa
“Beyond that we’re kind of up in the air,” Thomson said
But is there a role for Walker as a long reliever
“But I’m not saying that’s what we’re going to do.”

Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst said recently that he wants linebacker Quay Walker on the roster in 2026 one way or another
but it won’t be under the terms of the team’s fifth-year option on his contract
Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports that the team will not exercise that option
Thursday is the deadlines for teams to make option calls on 2022 first-round picks
Walker would have had a guaranteed salary of $14.751 million under the terms of the option
The Packers are picking up defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt’s $13.922 million option for 2026
Walker has started 43 of the 44 regular season games he’s played for the Packers
and a fumble recovery in those appearances
Walker also has 28 tackles in three postseason games
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Packers picked up the fifth-year option on one of their 2022 first-round picks and declined the other
but they would like for both players to be around beyond this season
The Packers ensured they will have defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt, the 28th pick, through the 2026 season by exercising his option. While they declined the fifth-year option on linebacker Quay Walker
they would like to work out a contract extension before he would become a free agent next offseason
The deadline to exercise fifth-year options for 2022 first-round picks is Thursday
Wyatt's salary for 2026 will be $12.938 million
according to NFL Players Association salary data
It became fully guaranteed once it was exercised
The fifth-year option on Walker would have been $14.751 million
the Packers hope to sign him to an extension perhaps even before the start of this coming season
who has led the Packers in tackles in each of his first three seasons
had his fifth-year option declined Thursday
still hope to sign him to an extension. Chris Leduc/Icon SportswireEarlier this offseason
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst indicated that both players would be in the team's plans beyond this season
we'd like to keep those guys around for '26 and beyond," Gutekunst said late last month
"So whether that's through doing the fifth-year option on these guys or extending them one way or the other
Walker became an immediate starter as a rookie and has led the Packers in tackles in each of his first three seasons
he missed four games last season (one because of a concussion and three with an ankle injury)
and another guy who had struggled through injuries at the end of the year
but he was really impactful for us this year," Gutekunst said
Certainly think we would love to have him around here for longer than just a couple years
Wyatt has not been a regular starter but likely will see an increased role this season after the departure of defensive tackle T.J. Slaton in free agency
Wyatt ranked second on the team in sacks last season with five and posted a career-high nine tackles for loss
He has 12 total sacks in his first three seasons
"[Wyatt] was probably our most consistent pass rusher from the inside this year," Gutekunst said
"Both [Walker and Wyatt] dealt with some injuries and was really proud of how they attacked those and played through some things this year
But I think both those guys had their best years as pros so far."

2025Those who were lucky enough to be at Churchill Downs yesterday for the 2025 Kentucky Derby might have been there for the big race
but the lavish outfits people turn up in are also quite the spectacle
Celebrities always go over the top for the event
and one Hallmark fan-favorite actor has people swooning with his handsome
and totally eye-catching photos from Derby day
Andrew Walker shared a post on Instagram earlier today as a recap of his experience
and fans can't take their eyes off him
This seriously looks like an ad for a Hallmark movie featuring a small town baker who wins a dream trip to the Kentucky Derby and has a chance encounter with an A-list actress who's fed up with life in Hollywood and just wants a nice dude to make her cookies and love her for who she is
Walker's caption summed up the day perfectly: "There’s something magical about being part of this tradition
surrounded by great people and the rich history of this iconic racetrack
Thank you to the Kentucky Derby for the unforgettable hospitality
and everyone is wondering when Walker is going to be cast in a historical movie
"You’re officially entering your 1940s Movie Star era ⭐️"
This whole vibe needs to be your next movie
there will have to be some riding horses thrown in for you
🐎🎩""❤️👏 This reminds me of Hats Off to Love
Other people totally swooned over the pink suit
You picked a great hat!😍"There's just one question left to answer after seeing these pics
Will we see Walker in an upcoming 1940s-themed flick from Hallmark
– The Green Bay Packers chose not to activate the fifth-year option for linebacker Quay Walker at the deadline on Thursday
with the goal of working out a contract extension with the former first-round pick
who hit playing-time thresholds but was not a Pro Bowler
would have been worth a guaranteed $14.751 million in 2026
according to projections from OverTheCap.com and Spotrac
That the Packers didn’t flip the switch doesn’t mean they’re ready to discard a player who is one of only two players in the draft class with at least 225 tackles and 20 tackles for losses
only six off-the-ball linebackers make more than the option amount
Walker is under contract through the upcoming season
General manager Brian Gutekunst has said the team hopes to keep Walker over the long haul
The Packers used the 22nd pick of the 2022 draft on Walker, choosing the potential-packed Georgia product over Devin Lloyd, the All-American from Utah. Lloyd went 27th overall to the Jaguars; they chose not to activate his option.
Among all players drafted in 2022, Lloyd is first with 355 tackles and Walker is second with 341. They are the only third-year players with 300-plus tackles. Walker is seventh in the draft class with 21 tackles for losses; Lloyd has only nine. Walker and Giants’ Micah McFadden are the only off-the-ball linebackers with more than 10 TFLs.
Walker has played in 44 games with 43 starts in three seasons. He has 100-plus tackles in all three seasons, including 102 in 2024. While he set a career high with nine tackles for losses last season, he didn’t produce a turnover-play and had a career-low two passes defensed.
However, the Packers liked how Walker handled the demands of being the middle linebacker in Jeff Hafley’s defense and his trajectory. In a blowout win over the 49ers in late November, he had seven tackles, including two for losses. He followed that with back-to-back 10-tackle games but sustained an ankle injury against the Seahawks and missed the final three games of the regular season.
A couple days after the San Francisco game, safety Xavier McKinney couldn’t have handed out a stronger endorsement.
“Quay a hell of a player,” he said. “From the time that I got around him when I first came to now, obviously, he’s growing each game, each practice.
“From my eyes and from what I’ve seen, I believe Quay’s the best middle linebacker in the league, in my opinion. I think he has so many different qualities that you don’t really see. He can cover well, he can tackle well, he (can) do a lot of things and, obviously, he’s still growing [as the middle linebacker]. When he goes out there and plays fast, there ain’t a lot of people that can do what he can do.”
League-wide, regardless of when they were drafted, there are 22 defensive players with 300-plus tackles and 20-plus tackles for losses the last three seasons. On that list, Walker is 16th in tackles.
Finances are at the forefront of these decisions.
Making Walker the 20th-highest-paid linebacker in terms of average salary would require $9.0 million per season – much less than the option figure. Contrast that to defensive tackle. Making Wyatt the 20th-highest-paid player at the position would require a contract worth $15.1 million per season.
Meanwhile, even before Wyatt’s 2026 contract goes on the ledger, the Packers are just $6.5 million below the projected 2026 salary cap; only nine teams are in worse shape, according to OverTheCap.com.
“We’re super-fired-up about both those guys seasons this year,” Gutekunst said of Walker and Wyatt at the end of the season. “Quay continued to make a leap, and another guy who had struggled through injuries at the end of the year, but he was really impactful for us this year. Continues to be a great leader for us. Certainly think we would love to have him around here for longer than just a couple years. He’s that kind of guy.
“And D-Wy was probably our most consistent pass rusher from the inside this year. Both of them dealt with some injuries and was really proud of how they attacked those and played through some things this year. But I think both those guys had their best years as pros so far.”
"Last summer, when people did their so-called mock drafts ... he was viewed as a Top 10 guy," said NFL Films producer Greg Cosell during a regular appearance on One Bills Live
"I did him last summer from his 2023 tape and I couldn't agree more
he had a rare combination of size and athleticism

The Green Bay Packers will likely trade former first-round pick linebacker Quay Walker after declining his fifth-year option
it suggests that the Packers may move on from the linebacker since they didn’t grant him another year beyond his rookie contract
this could be the final season for the former Georgia product
as it has always been the anticipation that they would pick up his fifth-year option
so it probably means the Packers are preparing to move on from him
Walker had one of the best rookie years as a Packer, recording a team-high of three forced fumbles and 1.5 sacks and 121 total tackles. Despite a few altercations on the field that season
the Linebacker did have a lot of potential to be the keystone player for this defense
Walker couldn’t intrigue the organization to justify them to give him another chance on this roster
The Packers are reportedly still trying to re-sign Walker to a long-term deal
but they may have to do that before the start of the 2025 regular season
On the other hand, the Dallas Cowboys are the latest team expected to pursue him in the trade market if he becomes available
It makes sense since the team needs all of the young defensive talent to become a mainstay
the Cowboys won’t be the only ones to pursue him
The veteran was arguably their best linebacker that they couldn’t afford to lose
but they had no choice since he couldn’t fit the bill anymore
They might have no other option but to trade for Walker
who could provide some upside for at least a year since he’s still on a rookie contract
The Ravens don’t have a lot of spending money to get the best available possible trade candidate
but Walker might fit into what this defense is looking for
Baltimore has one of the most talented offenses and can’t let it go to waste since they’ve been reluctant to improve their defense
but he’s a capable upgrade over Simpson and Tavius Robinson
Walker may be a capable replacement once Wagner eventually hangs up his cleats
The Miami Dolphins UDFA class includes several talented players who have a real shot at making the Dolphins final 53-man roster
The Los Angeles Rams have had success with UDFA signings in the past
and this year’s class of Rams UDFAs has several promising prospects
the Cleveland Browns might not have a choice
The rebuilding Cleveland Browns could either cut or trade this former Pro Bowler before the 2025 season begins
It’s easy to see why Kay thinks this. Fellow second-round pick Zach Charbonnet played well in Walker’s absence last year and should handle starting duties. Behind him, Seattle has two interesting seventh-round picks in Kenny McIntosh and rookie Damien Martinez
a player the draft community thought would be a fourth- or fifth-round pick
While the Seahawks have impressive running back depth
several teams across the league should be interested in a Kenneth Walker trade
The Dallas Cowboys will be near the top of any list about adding running back talent, as their depth chart is one of the worst in the league. Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders both crashed and burned with their previous organizations, while rookie Jaydon Blue is a fifth-round pick who probably isn’t ready to start
Kenneth Walker would easily be the most talented running back in this backfield
and the trade target could thrive behind a better offensive line with a more consistent passing attack
The Kansas City Chiefs seem content to roll with veterans Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt leading their backfield
While both players put up decent production last year
neither is anything special at this stage in their respective careers
as his ability to be dangerous as both a runner and a receiver could make him a perfect fit for this offense
Andy Reid hasn’t had a true three-down threat since Hunt’s first stint with the team
Chase Brown did a remarkable job as the leader of Cincinnati’s backfield last year
but he may not have multiple 280-touch seasons left in his tank
Brown has typically been more of a supporting player
and his body might not be able to handle this type of usage
A Kenneth Walker trade will ensure the Bengals have multiple starting-caliber running backs that can split work and remain healthy for a full 17-game season and a deep playoff run
Alvin Kamara remains atop the New Orleans Saints depth chart, but he isn’t getting any younger. The Saints didn’t draft a running back until Devin Neal in the sixth round
which means they probably don’t have their running back of the future on the roster
2025 will be a rebuilding year for the Saints
so they might as well trade a late-round pick for Kenneth Walker to see if he could be the future leader of this backfield
