There are just eight high school football teams still playing in the MPSSAA Class 2A state playoffs
and one of those teams is the Bayside South's Stephen Decatur Seahawks
who are undefeated and looking to repeat as Class 2A Champions this year
After surviving last week's game against Wi-Hi
Decatur will be back at home on Friday night
as it hosts Walkersville from Frederick County
With a spot in the 2A Final Four on the line this week
anything can happen when these two squads face off
Here is a preview and prediction for Friday's state quarterfinal matchup between Decatur and Walkersville
Decatur had a tough game in the second round of regional playoffs last week
as the Seahawks just survived a Wi-Hi team that did all it could to upset the undefeated
But Decatur's defense locked in the fourth quarter to prevent any potential game-winning drives
while Davin Chandler scored the go-ahead touchdown in the third
they will host Walkersville in the state quarterfinal
Walkersville pulled off a road upset last week against a Glenelg
and will come to Berlin on Friday looking to do the same
Slowing down Decatur's offense will be priority No
hoping to replicate what Wi-Hi did last week
while Decatur will look to regain its form from the first 10 games of the season
Walkersville has had an up and down season this year
the opposition Decatur will face as it looks to go back-to-back as state champions will only get tougher
With its championship experience and after being tested last week
But another close game in Berlin wouldn't be a surprise as the intensity of playoff football continues to grow
