Baldwin/Clarkston Road Intersection to Close for Roundabout Construction
MI -The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC)
will close the Baldwin Road/Clarkston Road intersection in the township starting Monday
to reconstruct the intersection as a roundabout
access to homes and businesses at and near the intersection will be maintained; however
the intersection will be fully closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic
The detour for through traffic on Clarkston Road during the closure is Baldwin Court/West Baldwin Road to Baldwin Road to Indianwood Road to Joslyn Road and back to Clarkston Road and vice versa
The detour route for Baldwin Road through traffic is Baldwin Road to Waldon Road to Joslyn Road to Indianwood Road and back to Baldwin and vice versa
The approximately $3.6 million project is funded mainly by federal dollars
including federal Highway Safety Program dollars
along with RCOC and Orion Township matching funds
In addition to the construction of the roundabout
expects to complete construction in late summer
The Baldwin Road/Clarkston Road intersection carries approximately 22,500 vehicles daily

“Replacing floodlights with spotlights in certain areas—such as the produce department—decreases energy consumption and makes food and other merchandise brighter and more appealing.”
