She has been fortunate to remain in contact with many of them through the years
The bottom line she totally loved her Raider Family

After 42 years of living on the Isle of Wight

Buried among all of the ancient wisdom you can find scratched out in caves in some far off land
if you look hard enough you will find one of the most important
“You can never have too much ice cream.”
While I am guessing that the previous statement is untrue
it is more than clear that Stratton Leopold-at the very least-agrees with it
Why else would he be announcing a Whitemarsh Island location of his ice cream empire
Leopold’s announced Wednesday via social media that they will be opening a new location for Leopold’s Ice Cream at 107 Charlotte Road on Whitemarsh Island
That’s just off of Highway 80 in the strip mall adjacent to the Whitemarsh Island Publix
The build out is underway and they are promising an experience similar to what you will find at their location on Broughton Street in Downtown Savannah
If what we’ve been told about how much history Leopold’s has tucked away in storage is true
then I think this new location will be beautiful
This will be Leopold’s 4th location to go along with their Broughton Street space and 2 others at Savannah International Airport
We’ve reached out to Stratton in hopes of getting a better idea
and website in this browser for the next time I comment

ridges of sand created by currents in coastal rivers and waters
Because they're often found near shore in shallower waters
boats anchor at low tide for parties and beachgoers wade out to them
those conditions can change in just a matter of minutes
as tides can rise and fall by as much as 9 feet
Those fast-moving currents can knock an adult and even the best swimmer off their feet
Tybee Island officials are looking at more options for safety initiatives surrounding sandbars
AWR Strategic Consulting's Alan Robertson gave a presentation at the July 25 Tybee Island City Council meeting to give council "context with which to consider how to improve public safety" on the south beach and the sandbar area on the south end
Robertson suggested that more signage could be placed
some at the three entrances to the south end
but that it would be hard to invest enough time and manpower to prevent people from getting in the water
"I believe we inadvertently exacerbated the situation," Robertson said
the [Army Corps of Engineers] gave us the option of adding more sand
We added 100 feet of sand from 13th Street to 19th Street
there was even more sand going south than you might have had in 2000
After recent drownings off Tybee, resident advocates for greater water safety awareness
Teenager who drowned on Tybee identified; family raises money for funeral
Interim City Manager Michelle Ownes said that since the last city council meeting on July 11 the city has refurbished a large sign and has planned additional signage to be installed
some closer to the waterline and some signage at the crossovers
Mayor Brian West asked if they should just close the beach past a certain point
and Owens said that closing it seasonally is something that has been considered and was the only thing they hadn't tried
"We do have temporary signs that we take out
do not walk past this point,'" said City Marshal Walter Hattrich
"We also have the entirety of our ordinance relating to the sandbar in both English and Spanish that we take out every day
but it's hitting a moving target every single day because of the tide
we're trying to delineate that the best we can with a dozen temporary signs."
code enforcement employees work seven days a week and are supposed to go to the sandbar every single day
The area is a priority for lifeguards according to Owens
but she doesn't think there's anyone stationed there all day during the lifeguard shift
Two people came up to speak about the recent drownings during the public comment portion of the meeting, including Sandy Stoeffler who runs the Tybee Sandbar and Water Safety Initiative Facebook group
Sharlene Smith, who lives on Wilmington, urged council to have the mindset of rescue, not recover, and suggested a number of ways to prevent drownings on the sandbar, like drones that flash or robots like the E.M.I.LY, a remote-control rescue buoy.
I will do whatever I can to get this stuff done
