Q: I see they added the Aldi and AutoZone signs on the Randall Curve marquee
what is the new building being built in front of it
AutoZone and Brickyard Car Wash are the latest breaking ground in The Randall at Orangetree development on Immokalee Road’s Randall Curve between Randall and Orange Tree boulevards in Golden Gate Estates
The Randall at Orangetree mixed-use development abuts Winchester Center directly to its north at the traffic signal intersection of Orange Tree Boulevard and Immokalee Road
the separately owned and operated developments have built and opened only one business each: 7-Eleven in The Randall at Orangetree and McDonald’s in Winchester
Both franchises have been blessed with brisk business since opening last spring
The only vertical construction visible now on the Randall Curve is north of Orange Tree Boulevard in Winchester Center. The larger building taking shape will be Sunshine Ace Hardware; the smaller building under construction nearest Immokalee Road will be a three-unit outparcel anchored by a Heartland Dental office
A tenant has not been named yet for the remaining 1,827-square-foot space adjacent to the dental office
Vertical construction recently began on the inline retail strip that will adjoin the south side of Sunshine Ace Hardware
Five of its seven units have prospective tenants
Anytime Fitness is taking the 3,465-square-foot endcap unit
Other tenants signed on for roughly 1,500-square-foot units are Little Caesars pizzeria chain
Cold Stone Creamery ice cream and Luxury Nails
said Kalayah Sargeant of Metro Commercial Real Estate
the firm leasing units for Naples-based Barron Collier Companies
“We’ve had a lot of interested users
We are just working on finalizing them,” Sargeant said
Winchester Center will have three other freestanding buildings, two of which will be health care centers independently operated by Healthcare Network and NCH Healthcare System. Immediately south of McDonald’s will be Healthcare Network’s 20,000-square-foot Orangetree Community Health Center, which will offer pediatrics
behavioral health counseling and a drive-thru pharmacy
NCH is building a two-story medical office complex behind McDonald’s
On a 2.8-acre lot directly south of the future NCH building
a two-story commercial building is proposed for 40,000 square feet of self-storage units
a principal of Metro Commercial and president of Barron Collier Investment Partners
“The demand has been really strong for the Winchester
We’re hoping to open it by the fall of this year
who hopes to add a Cuban bakery to the retail mix
an interior road built parallel with Immokalee Road connects Winchester Center to The Randall at Orangetree
a much larger commercial development stretching south nearly to Fourth Street Northeast with two right-in/right-out access points off the Immokalee Road curve
The majority of The Randall at Orangetree’s 50 acres are reserved for the 400-unit Vintage Naples Apartments
which will have four buildings of four stories each on Winchester Trail
a silt fence was erected last month along the perimeter of the future apartment complex along the western edge of Winchester Trail
That 33-acre vacant commercial tract was acquired in early December for $18.5 million by Tennessee-based TDK Construction and Development
doing business as Vintage Naples Owner LLC
TDK builds and develops residential projects throughout the Southeast and Southwest
including other Vintage Florida properties in Amelia Island
Although the Vintage Naples apartment complex does not include the word “luxury” in its promotions or name
and TDK’s other Vintage properties are upscale
Additional details are not available yet for the one-
A silt fence also went up in December around the 2-acre lot for a freestanding 19,682-square-foot Aldi grocery store
Collier County’s fifth location of the discount grocery chain will be the middle of three lots between McDonald’s and 7-Eleven
South of 7-Eleven, the next three lots are reserved for Chase Bank
These three businesses will be built between the two access roads
Chase Bank proposes a 3,333-square-foot office building with a drive-up window
completion is expected this spring on a 7,381-square-foot AutoZone store
a permit extension request was granted in December for Brickyard Car Wash
which will have a 4,453-square-foot automatic car wash and 20 vacuum stations
Three other vacant lots are still available south of Isabel Lane
These lots are being marketed by Trinity Commercial Group
which is responsible for the leasing and selling of properties in The Randall at Orangetree for the developer
development and real estate investment firm based in Alpharetta
“We still have significant interest from coffee groups
We are seeing some interest from QSR [quick-service restaurants]
I know the community would like to see a sit-down restaurant,” said TCG partner Tony Mangione
who notes that he also has had interest from auto repair groups

Cardiologists at Winchester Medical Center are the first in the Northern Virginia region to perform the innovative “UNICORN” procedure in conjunction with a trans-aortic heart valve replacement (TAVR)
The UNICORN procedure is used to mitigate the risk of coronary artery obstruction during TAVR and offers improved safety in the case of patients who have a failing artificial heart valve and require a new valve to replace it
A “valve-in-valve” replacement carries the risk of blocking blood flow into the coronary arteries
When the new valve is placed inside the dysfunctional valve
it can sometimes push the leaflets of the old valve into the path of blood flow to the coronary arteries
The UNICORN procedure mitigates this risk of blockage by using radiofrequency energy to create a precise channel for the new artificial valve to be implanted through so that blood can continue to flow properly.“This is a significant milestone for Valley Health’s Structural Heart Program,” said interventional cardiologist and Structural Heart Program Medical Director
“By offering the UNICORN procedure we are able to increase the safety profile of valve-in-valve replacements for patients with a deteriorating aortic valve implant in our community
This will make a meaningful difference for these patients.”
The acronym “UNICORN” stands for undermining iatrogenic coronary obstruction with radiofrequency needle
The first patient to receive this treatment option at Winchester Medical Center was carefully selected based on the type of artificial valve that had been previously implanted
and careful review of the patient’s CT scan and coronary angiogram
which revealed that the patient was at extremely high risk of coronary obstruction
The first UNICORN procedure in the Northern Virginia region was a success and the patient is doing well following treatment
“This option expands care for patients and offers hope for those who would otherwise be at high or extremely high risk of coronary occlusion during surgery,” said Dr
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this highly complex care for patients in our community
using leading-edge technology to provide patients the treatment they need right here in Winchester.”

(LEX 18) — Staff at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester are grappling with uncertainty following recent announcements of financial cuts imposed by their parent company
who has been with the hospital since January 2024
voiced concerns not only for her livelihood but also for her colleagues
“We are trying to still be there and do the best that we can
despite what they are doing to us,” Wallace stated
emphasizing the dedication of the nursing staff amid troubling changes
nurses and other medical personnel learned that significant cuts would soon affect their pay structures
“What was told to us is that our incentive pay
which nurses and other staff members have been receiving—lab techs
and those in the clinic—will be reduced,” Wallace explained
she and her ICU colleagues are facing a loss of $5 per hour—referred to as critical care pay—as well as the elimination of their weekend incentive
which typically provided an additional $8 per hour depending on the shift
Clark Regional Medical Center has been under LifePoint Health’s ownership since 2010
and these changes to pay and benefits are expected to take effect as early as next week
making sure everything is up to par,” Wallace shared
Emileigh noted that some staff members have already stated their intention to leave for other opportunities
“There were a lot of tears shed and no answers as to why
Our management is distraught; they were so upset telling us all of this
knowing what the response would be,” she said
acknowledging the emotional toll these changes have taken on the team
She highlighted the difficulties for employees
for whom nursing is the primary source of income for their households
The reasoning behind the financial cuts remains unclear to the staff
Emileigh insists that their commitment to patient care will not waver
We really need corporate to understand that,” she noted emphatically

Where to: Kyuramen in Winchester Center, an area that has been enjoying a restaurant boom. Recently, Karma opened down the block, serving upscale sushi and more; Nouvelle Maison
from a sweeping chain with seductive décor
The backstory: The Japanese chain has 40-plus US franchise locations
leaving an auto dealership career in New York to pursue a love of food
when the restaurant hadn’t even been built up yet
waiting for us to be open — and once we did
we got a lot of feedback about the atmosphere,” Tong says
About the ambiance: Kyuramen is known for a honeycomb design
with blond wood alcoves that function as tiny private dining cubbies; there’s also a noodle bar and open kitchen
The restaurant is technically still in a soft-opening phase
with a grand opening celebration planned for this month
What to eat: Kyu means “nine” in Japanese; hence
there are nine styles of ramen on the menu ($16.99 and up): spicy pork (a bestseller)
but the menu also has other treasures: Try the classic omurice ($20.99)
missile-shaped omelet wrapped around chicken-fried rice
folded in crunchy layers; shrimp tempura; and pork belly and green onion bao
Be forewarned: Although Kyuramen does a brisk takeout business
What to drink: House-made Thai iced tea and lemonade

Ward Plaza's new owner plans to redevelop the Winchester shopping center
Winchester shopping center sale could revitalize area
During his time on Winchester City Council, Jeff Buettner recalls, plans to revitalize Ward Plaza shopping center were a frequent topic of conversation at every council retreat
as interim executive director of the Winchester Economic Development Authority
he believes that vision is coming close to fruition
“It is a project that is near and dear to my heart,” Buettner says
“It’s just been floating out there for so long
and this is as close to having something happen as I’ve seen in my time involved with city government.”
originally opened as a shopping center in the 1960s
finally sold on June 1 after decades on the market
intends to demolish the existing structures in November
with plans to replace Ward Plaza with a mixed-use development
including residential units and a smaller shopping center that the new owners — Winchester Acquisition Partners
the company name Gray purchased the shopping center under — hope will be anchored by a supermarket
Manuel says the area is currently a food desert
an area with limited options to purchase healthy
“If we get your typical footprint of a 40,000-square-foot supermarket
you’re probably looking at a 50,000- to 60,000-square-foot shopping center,” Manuel says
Gray declined to comment on his plans before October
but Buettner says that Gray is finalizing details on potential tenants at the new shopping center
who was also involved in talks regarding the property
said in a statement that Ward Plaza has been a priority for many years in the city’s comprehensive plan
named as one of five “catalyst” sites which are intended to bring walkability
mixed-use development and improved street connections to the area
“This project will bring vital housing and retail opportunities to the Winchester community and spur economic development in the heart of Winchester’s commercial district,” Hoffman said in the statement
Buettner knows that even with the sale of the property
the developer will still have to apply for rezoning and present a site plan before the city can approve it and redevelopment can begin: “It’s up to the developer to take it across the finish line
but we have confidence based on everything we’ve seen.”

The backstory: Karma’s Iverson Guo launched this mini-empire with his former Manhattan workplace
in mind: a slinky colossus for big nights out
There are Karma restaurants scattered throughout the Boston suburbs; Winchester is the newest location
This version has two stories and a sultrier aura
with low-fi techno piped into the host area
which served the best Asian cuisine in the center of Manhattan
the only things moody in Winchester are the teens: The area is quaint and New England proper
What to eat: A word about New York-style: This goes for the tab
we’re treated to an amuse bouche from the kitchen: two spicy spoonfuls of basil-scented yellowtail
Neighboring tables that don’t order sushi receive shumai
who deftly segues between our table and the bar
a trio of flaky cracker shells filled with barbecue duck confit
sprinkled with cilantro and delicately arranged atop a spa-like pile of stones ($24)
“Are the stones edible?,” my dining companion wonders
that I wish they came in fours and not threes
(Splitting the final one just isn’t structurally sound.)
in a grand bamboo basket anointed with gold tongs
Crispy rice with spicy tuna ($26) is marked as a must-try on the menu
dunking crispy rice squares pricked with toothpicks into a spicy tuna mixture adorned with jalapeno slices
The fusion sushi menu is vast and daring: The signature at this location is a three-piece foie gras “club” ($45)
Our server also suggests the Hokkaido scallop with crispy leeks and ponzu truffle dressing ($39)
a velvety robe of translucent scallop draped across seared tuna
but why simplify when you can sample a crispy kale tuna roll in cilantro dressing ($26)
another menu must-try) and kung pao ($21) chicken are advertised as spicy
Audacious sushi is where this menu truly shines
One can imagine a roaring cocktail scene in a neighborhood filled with lovable pubs but lacking in high-end drinking options
there are purple lychee ($17) and silky gin matcha martinis ($15); a Boulevardier made with Japanese whiskey and vermouth ($16); an agave menu; and a separate list of Japanese whiskeys available in 2-ounce pours
A large format Mai Tai ($125) requires four drinkers
Our server jokingly offers us a $1,200 bottle of sake; we promise to return for dinner (and maybe when we win the lottery)
The takeaway: Not your neighborhood takeout sushi joint

I try to cover all the gnarly stuff that burbles to the surface of our ordinary lives

skyrocketing stress levels that are both persistent and unprecedented
A lot of parenting coverage focuses on what’s grim
There’s also so much goodness in the world
That’s why I want to tell you about 8-year-old Bobby Atchinson
He’s a second-grader at Ambrose Elementary School in Winchester
he’s running a pop-up bookstore in Winchester Center stocked with donations from family and friends
(Picture a library that looks like a lemonade stand.) Books are geared to elementary- and middle-schoolers and cost $5
He’s giving the proceeds to The Home for Little Wanderers
where he’ll present the money on a visit to their Roslindale location on Giving Tuesday
The Home for Little Wanderers runs community-based and residential programs for kids who are victims of trauma and abuse
They also have foster care and adoption programs
plus services for young adults transitioning from state care
I hope they can get food and clothes,” Bobby says
He started to really love reading in first grade
(”Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales” is a favorite.) When books began piling up around the house
offered to drop them somewhere but never got around to it
(I have three bags full of too-small winter clothes in my trunk
the family started talking about staging a pop-up bookstore fund-raiser instead
and Bobby set up a bin at Ambrose for donations
their garage was brimming with more than 20 boxes of books
“I feel like our kids are living a great life
and we’re so proud that we’re able to offer them that
we want them to have visibility into what life looks like for other people
And so we started the conversation — just really small: that there are kids who don’t have opportunities to go to the bookstore every day
and there are kids who don’t have this many books
‘Let’s think about giving money that we earn from an actual bookstore.’ His heart really was in opening a little book store,” she says
Atchinson started to look for a worthwhile charity and saw that the Home operated a program not far from where they live
Then I found out he was only in second grade,” says Jamille Benson
the Home’s community engagement and giving director
“These are children who aren’t going to wake up at home [over the holidays]
Bobby is willing to give up money and gift it to someone else
especially that he’s working on weekends.”
Atchinson obtained a town permit to set up shop in front of Starbucks in Winchester Center for three Saturdays
made a logo on graphic design platform Canva
and printed off a tablecloth for his stand
And we were really impressed with the amount of people who came from our community,” she says
“All of his second-grade buddies came for a T-shirt
Teaching kids to give back is so often abstract
My two sons are generally super-kind dudes
but their first instinct isn’t to collect food for a soup kitchen or to reach into their taco money wallets to donate to charity
They want to spend their bounty on candy and their time playing video games while coated in Doritos dust
but a pop-up shop based on his interests bridged the gap — and sparked discussions with his friends and their parents
“Parents were super grateful to have this conversation with their kids based on what Bobby built
That was a really cool part of this whole thing
I was kind of just making this about our family
raising $1,300 and making recommendations to customers
“I like ‘Captain Underpants’ and ‘I Survived,’” he says
recommending books for other kids that they might like.”
Bobby hopes to raise $5,000; his parents will match the final amount once he closes up shop
Benson says the money will provide essential gear for kids as it gets colder
a lot of kids aren’t prepared for changing weather: essential items for activities
“He’s helping to make a difference in a child’s life.”
Bobby’s Books is open on Saturday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the corner of Main and Thompson streets in Winchester. Can’t browse in person? He’s also taking donations at www.bobbys-books.com
(LEX 18) — New Day Recovery Center in Winchester is counting down the days until a free resource event it will host in Lexington in August
We caught up with three people taking the lead as this initiative inches closer
"Somebody can't decide if they want help if they're not alive."
That is Odell Hager's message inside and outside of the doors at New Day Recovery
"The message is that we're all here for you."
the center's community outreach coordinator
is preparing for a free event called "In This Together" at Jacobson Park
experiencing homelessness and anyone dealing with mental health issues
"We just wanted to do something for the community that was not one specific thing
this way it's many different resources throughout Kentucky."
Hager is in recovery after 16 active years of addiction and has been planning this community resource bash for about four and a half months
He has a street outreach team that does harm reduction
trying to meet with people in every county in Kentucky
"Been spending a lot of time in Fayette County in Kentucky and that's one of the reasons we wanted to hold the event there."
who works in Lexington and Richmond as a peer support manager and outreach coordinator
Thomas says this is about bringing the community together
"End the stigma of addiction and isolating people considered addicts towards the entire community
let people know that there's help from all different types of areas," said Thomas
a New Day worker and Winchester lead for young people in recovery
helping people take the steps necessary to succeed
"It could be just needing somebody to talk to and listen just because you're struggling and don't know which way to go
we're gonna have resources for everything," said Ashcraft
Those resources will be at Jacobson Park for a kid-friendly
adult-friendly event next month with this in mind
It's a chance to know that you can recover."
The money raised from the event will go to the Charles Young Center and Nathaniel Mission
which help troubled youth and assist with afterschool and summer programs
In This Together is scheduled for August 4 from 3 to 7 p.m
The Winchester Center for Lung Disease (WCLD) opened in March 2021 at the North Haven Medical Center to improve access to exceptional care for more people with lung conditions
The expanded facilities at the Winchester Center have allowed expansion of subspecialized pulmonary care as well as access to a wide array of multidisciplinary services
more than what was possible at the original Winchester Chest Clinic (WCC) on Yale New Haven Hospital’s York Street Campus
“The new location has been incredible for us, for our patients, and for our staff,” said Jennifer Possick, MD
associate professor of medicine (pulmonary) and director of WCLD
“It’s allowed us to do so many things that we had not been able to before without expansion of our physical space and resources
We are also now able to grow additional programs that offer personalized care to patients with specific needs
such as those with new respiratory issues related to recent critical illness
or those receiving oncologic therapies for malignancy
we are able to improve access for patients with undifferentiated respiratory symptoms searching for a diagnosis.”
the Center—a joint partnership with Yale Department of Internal Medicine’s Section of Pulmonary
and Sleep Medicine (Yale-PCCSM) and Yale New Haven Health—has tripled its capacity to treat patients
The Center has 20 exam rooms (WCC has six) and an expanded pulmonary function lab facility
Patients are also able to engage with research staff in a seamless manner
allowing improved access to both clinical trials and translational research
“At Yale-PCCSM, we have some of the best respiratory clinicians and researchers in the world, and experts in nearly every lung disease, but until the opening of the new Winchester Center, the access was limited,” said Naftali Kaminski, MD
the number of new patients we have seen has nearly doubled.”
stresses the multidisciplinary aspect of the center
“As somebody who's wanted this for many years
to see it come to fruition is just amazing.”
For Danielle Antin-Ozerkis, MD
associate professor of medicine (pulmonary) and medical director of the Yale Interstitial Lung Disease Center of Excellence
having easy access to these services has allowed her patients to receive onsite education about things like how to properly use oxygen and take medications
which frees her up to see a larger volume of patients
“We have a nurse coordinator who has developed an entire education program around oxygen,” Antin-Ozerkis said
“She can sit with patients and really educate them about what their oxygen setup is
It can be pretty overwhelming for patients
especially those who have never used oxygen before.”
Geoffrey Chupp, MD
and director of the Yale Center for Asthma and Airways Disease
said that the physicians who’ve joined his team “are really passionate about taking care of patients with asthma
“I think patients really notice that when they come to our center
They can tell that they're getting another level of care than they would in a community practice
Patients who are interested in participating in research trials are also able to learn about the details at the Winchester Center
making participation less daunting than it otherwise might be
We have and are recruiting additional outstanding physicians
and researchers aiming to provide the best access to cutting edge clinical care and research to our patients with a variety of lung diseases
with the improved infrastructure of our services
I think we have an outpatient center that is not only important regionally
The Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is one of the eleven sections within Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Internal Medicine. To learn more about Yale-PCCSM, visit PCCSM's website, or follow them on Facebook and Twitter

The Mead Family Cancer Center is set to open in Columbus
opened its doors Saturday afternoon to anyone who wanted a tour
The recovery center is in partnership with Tracy's Re-Entry Residential Center in Lexington
and offers women struggling with addiction a chance at a new life
are too familiar with life on the streets and the journey to getting clean with little help
"This is where we'll be doing peer support classes
"I chose Winchester because I was born and raised here
I was an avid drug user here for 15 years here in Winchester
and I feel like this is my way to give back to the town that I did the most wreckage
and show my town love because they're loving me back to life
"We want to provide a place for women after they get out of treatment to get independent and get on their feet," Mr
"I struggled with addiction for over 20 years and did a lot of treatment
And when I got clean some years ago there wasn't places like this to come and be in and get the basic things that I need."
The recovery center is free with eight beds
a cozy living room and a large backyard with a three-season's room on the patio
The program requires 8-weeks of intensive outpatient care
followed by 8-weeks of standard outpatient care
alongside visitations from loved ones on the weekends
McCarty details how the women will receive crucial life skills to help them back on their foot and into the adult world independently
"So their aftercare includes basic life skills
we work with Jubilee Jobs that helps them create resumes," Ms
A war room prayer area is also provided for the women to meditate in the morning or throughout the day as part of their daily routine
To help the center feel more like a home and less like an institution
each bedroom is a different color theme alongside the homes accent color
"We're just one bad decision being back in a situation like this
so when they come in the only difference is their sobriety
We're trying to show them what it's like to be treated fairly and to love them back to life," says Mr
"I would just want them to know that we believe in them
if they can have one person believe in them the way one person believed in me they can overcome addiction and become independent citizens again," said Ms
To help the program, food, clothing and monetary donations are welcomed. You can visit their Facebook page for more information

Q: There are a lot of people asking what is going in on the corner of Randall and Immokalee across from the Publix
I thought maybe you could answer that for us
Q: Any timetable on when McDonald’s in the Estates (across from Orangetree) is scheduled to open
A: Two adjoining planned unit developments in Golden Gate Estates will bring multifamily housing
additional restaurants and many more retail businesses to that nearly 70-acre Randall Curve section of Immokalee Road across the street from the Publix-anchored Neighborhood Shoppes at Orangetree and the Orangetree neighborhoods of Valencia Lakes and Citrus Greens
a retail strip on the northern end of the property will be anchored by Sunshine Ace Hardware and feature numerous restaurants and smaller retailers
The rest of the 21-acre Winchester planned unit development will be immediately south of the traffic light at Orange Tree Boulevard
Those four freestanding businesses will include McDonald’s and a Healthcare Network health center fronting Immokalee Road with NCH medical offices and a self-storage facility directly behind them
“We think the area is kind of starved for retailers
restaurants and services to feed the area,” said Eric Mallory
executive vice president of Metro Commercial
which is co-developing Winchester with Barron Collier Companies
will connect Winchester Center to The Randall at Orangetree mixed-use development directly to its south along the Immokalee Road section between Orange Tree Boulevard and 4th Street NW
A 400-unit apartment community will comprise the majority of The Randall at Orangetree’s nearly 50 acres
Proposed to be built by Atlanta-based Davis Development—the same company that built The Pearl Founders Square apartments—the residential units will be built along the rear of the acreage
while a string of commercial lots will front Immokalee Road
The McDonald’s drive-thru will be the first business to open
temporarily taking some strain off the nearest location in the Shoppes of Pebblebrooke that has been the No
The new fast-food restaurant at 13811 Immokalee Road is targeted to open around the end of this year
Work began May 31 on the 4,480-square-foot restaurant with 61 seats
Expect to see construction begin this spring on the Winchester Center inline retail strip
anchored on its northern end by a 20,470-square-foot Sunshine Ace Hardware
The new store will be nearly identical to the Sunshine Ace that opened in April to anchor The Plaza at Founders Square
“It will be very similar,” he said
“It essentially will be a similar footprint.”
The target opening for the new hardware store is June 2025 or about 60 to 90 days after the center is built
The center’s site development plan is in for county permitting now and is expected to break ground next spring
“We think we are going to start construction in March and then open in March of ‘25,” he said
The center will have as many as six other inline units ranging in space from 1,450 to 3,613 square feet
A more than 5,500-square-foot corner outparcel in the center also can be divided to suit tenant needs
“It could be one unit; it could be three or four,” Mallory said
“That building would be perfect for furniture.”
The first four inline spaces next to the hardware store are designated for eateries
We’ve got a great outdoor dining area for the food tenants
Specific tenants for the center have not been signed yet
so we don’t have any done deals yet,” Mallory said
“Services like beauty salons would be perfect
county commissioners approved 130,000 square feet of indoor self-storage as part of the Winchester property
The three-story building is planned on a 2.8-acre lot
but we don’t have an operator,” Mallory said
Two medical buildings will round out the vacant commercial space in Winchester development
Naples-based NCH purchased 2.23 acres in April
and Immokalee-based Collier Health Services Inc.—which operates as Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida—bought a 1.6-acre lot in May
“NCH is building a two-story medical office complex at Winchester Plaza but we have no confirmed plans at this time for what may eventually be at that site,” said Shawn McConnell
NCH director of marketing and communications
a nonprofit organization that provides medical and dental care to underserved children and adults
received $1.75 million in appropriation funds from the state this year to build a health center in the underserved Orangetree area
A capital campaign will raise additional funds for the new medical center
which is estimated by Healthcare Network to cost $15 million
Construction is expected to begin in winter 2024 for the 18,780-square-foot comprehensive health center that will offer pediatrics
X-ray and lab and behavioral health counseling as well as a drive-thru pharmacy
Immediately south of the new medical center will be a 19,432-square-foot Aldi discount grocery store on a more than 2-acre lot in The Randall at Orangetree
which will be developed by the Davis Group
“We’ve been really trying to focus on services based on market studies that are needed out there,” said Chris Davis
“We are in negotiations with several new users.”
Although early renderings showed a retail strip across multiple lots
instead The Randall will have at least 10 separate commercial lots along Immokalee Road
Tony Mangione of Trinity Commercial Group still has outparcels available for sale or a ground lease
“We are doing individual lots,” Davis said
“We are looking at a QSR [quick service restaurant] that’s new to your area that we are in negotiations with
We have offers from a national bank and a national coffee group and an automotive use that we’re talking to
That really leaves us with two or three more parcels.”
Other businesses coming to the vacant lots include 7-Eleven
which has begun vertical construction on its 4,825-square-foot convenience store and is planning to open in the spring with 14 fueling positions and a 980-square-foot freestanding car wash
Brickyard Car Wash also is supposed to break ground around the first of the year on a lot next door to a 7,574-square-foot AutoZone parts store
Underground infrastructure work has been completed on the four-building apartment community
which will begin vertical construction soon
“We are looking to get moving on the apartments early next year,” Davis said
Collier County government also owns a small parcel in the development
“They can only use it for administrative-type use,” Davis said
In addition to the traffic light at Orange Tree Boulevard
The Randall at Orangetree development has two right-in-right-out access roads
The development will not have an entrance off 4th Street NE
which lines up with Randall Boulevard at its intersection with Immokalee Road
A 1.7-acre lake will be on the hard corner at Immokalee and 4th Street NE and a 6.6-acre native vegetation preserve will separate the future apartment community from 4th Street
