Hunter Wolcott earns his first career victory with a two-shot win at the Diners Club Peru Open
Peru – Hunter Wolcott earned his first career victory at the Diners Club Peru Open
carding a final-round 3-under 69 to win by two strokes over third-round leader David Perkins
4 in the Fortinet Cup and secures exempt membership on PGA TOUR Americas for the remainder of the 2025 season and through the Latin America Swing of 2026
Wolcott entered the day one stroke shy of Perkins and began the final round with a double bogey on his first hole
A 2-over front-nine left Wolcott in a five-shot deficit of the lead with only a final nine left to play
Wolcott posted a bogey-free back-nine with five birdies
including his last on the par-3 17th to take hold of the lead after Perkins made a double bogey
18 was enough for Wolcott to claim victory at Los Inkas Golf Club
“I’m very thankful that I was able to turn the page and turn that energy into focus and not let it fester in the back of my mind,” Wolcott said during his winner’s interview, reflecting on the adversity he faced Friday.
“It took a lot of prayer, a lot of talks with my fiancé and my mental coach to move past that… You can let yourself be a victim or you can overcome it. I truly turned the page and was focusing on the shot at hand, and I really did that to great execution.”
Leader Hunter Wolcott assessed pace-of-play penalty in Round 2 of Diners Club Peru Open
Wolcott is expected to be in the field at the Bupa Championship, the fifth event of the Latin America Swing, which will be hosted at Club de Golf Mexico from May 8-11 in Mexico City, Mexico.

Hunter Wolcott became the first player under the PGA Tour Americas new pace-of-play policy to be penalized for slow play
a 27-year-old University of Tennessee product
was leading the Diners Club Peru Open by a shot when he was penalized a stroke while putting on his 16th hole of the day at Los Inkas Golf Club in Peru
Wolcott took 58 seconds to hit his par putt while being second to play
players who are put on the clock are permitted 40 seconds to play a stroke in that circumstance while an extra 10 seconds is allotted for certain circumstances
one-shot penalties were handed out after a player’s second bad time; now
The Korn Ferry Tour also adopted this revised policy starting with last month’s Lecom Suncoast Classic
though no KFT players have violated the policy to date
Wolcott went on to finish 36 holes tied for the lead
and he said afterward that while he disagreed with the penalty
he liked the rule: “It’s pretty unfortunate
I do think the rule is good to hurry up slow players
Adds more fuel to the fire for the weekend.”

CT (WFSB) - Authorities are searching for the four suspects who rammed a sports shop in Wolcott with a stolen vehicle and stole nine handguns
Wolcott police said they responded to Sportsmen’s Outpost on Wolcott Road on Friday morning after a burglar alarm was tripped around 5:25 a.m
An officer said he was on the scene within 30 seconds
had rammed the front of the store and broke open the front entrance
The getaway car was found in the woods at Pine Lake in Bristol
Police later determined that nine handguns were stolen from the store
They’re still searching for the four suspects
“They could be somewhere here hiding and this complex is really
really big,” said Jossie Tores from Bristol
Tores lives behind the woods at Pine Lake and was stunned to hear the getaway car was found near her complex
Police believe it was stolen and then ditched
“I didn’t know and I just came walking around myself not knowing what went on,” she added
the Wolcott Police Chief emphasized the importance of catching the crew
So we’re going to do everything we can as quick as we can to recover the guns and arrest the people that did break in,” said Chief Edward Stephens
Channel 3 saw an empty building with its door smashed
It used to be a gun shop and will soon be home to a roofing company
Police believe the same crew was responsible for smashing this business
“What we’re leaning towards is they thought that was the gun store on Wolcott Road
They smashed in there and found an empty building,” said Chief Stephens
Police said the gun shop owner gave them the serial numbers to the nine stolen guns which will be helpful in the investigation
They also swabbed the inside of the damaged car for DNA
we have kids that play outside,” said Torres
Anyone with information about the burglary was asked to contact Wolcott detectives at 203-879-1414

Hunter Wolcott leads after Round 1 at Diners Club Peru Open. (PGA TOUR Americas)
LIMA, Peru – Hunter Wolcott holds the 18-hole lead at the Diners Club Peru Open after a bogey-free 8-under 64 at Los Inkas Club. Riley Lewis is in solo second after an opening round 7-under 65, with three players tied for third at 6-under 66.
Wolcott has now held sole possession of the first-round lead twice this season, with the first time coming at the PGA TOUR Americas season-opener in Cordoba, Argentina, the 93 Abierto Telecom del Centro presentado por Zurich, where he opened with a 63. Wolcott’s opening round in Lima was the second-best first-round score of his career.
The Knoxville, Tennessee, native comes from a long line of professional athletes in his family. Wolcott’s father, Bob Wolcott, played on the PGA TOUR from 1989-1992 and 1997. In addition to his career on TOUR, Bob was recently inducted into the Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame and won the 2013 Tennessee Senior State Open. Hunter’s older brother, Ben, played golf at the University of Mississippi, and his twin brother, Collier, played football at the University of Tennessee-Martin.
Wolcott is making his 14th career start on PGA TOUR Americas. Wolcott finished as the No. 34 player in the 2024 Fortinet Cup points list to retain his card for the 2025 Latin America Swing. Through three starts on PGA TOUR Americas in 2025, Wolcott sits at No. 86 in the Fortinet Cup.

Course Setup: Par 72 / 6,882 yards; R1 average: 71.586Weather: Cloudy with a high of 75. Wind from the south at 1-7 mph with gusts up to 16 mph.
Hunter Wolcott shares leads after Round 2 at Diners Club Peru Open
David Lamb and David Perkins share the 36-hole lead at 10-under after the second round of the Diners Club Peru Open
Perkins carded a bogey-free 66 Friday at Los Inkas Golf Club to join Lamb and first-round leader Wolcott atop the leaderboard
“It’s pretty unfortunate. I do think the rule is good to hurry up slow players,” Wolcott said. “Nothing I can do about it now, still in a good spot. Happy about my game. Adds more fuel to the fire for the weekend.”
Peru’s Julian Perico is four strokes off the lead and T14, while American Conner Godsey improved 90 spots on the leaderboard and is T7 after a second-round 63. Third-round tee times will run from 8 a.m.–12 p.m. CT off the No. 1 tee at Los Inkas Golf Club.
Course Setup: Par 72 / 6,882 yards; R2 average: 71.586
Weather: Cloudy with a high of 77. Wind from the south at 1-7 mph with gusts up to 14 mph.
For the first time since PGA TOUR Americas implemented a new Pace of Play policy at the start of the year
a golfer received a one-stroke penalty for slow play
First-round leader Hunter Wolcott received a one-stroke penalty Friday on his 16th hole
the seventh at Los Inkas Golf Club in Lima
during the second round of the Diners Club Peru Open
Wolcott was leading at the time of the penalty and made a double-bogey on the hole
still tied for the lead with Davis Lamb and David Perkins
“It’s pretty unfortunate. I do think the rule is good to hurry up slow players,” said Wolcott, adding he disagreed with the penalty but would accept the ruling and move forward. “Nothing I can do about it now, still in a good spot. Happy about my game. Adds more fuel to the fire for the weekend.”
Wolcott said he hit his drive under a tree on the seventh hole, up against a tree root. He popped his shot up close to the green, then pitched it to about 25 feet. That’s when the penalty occurred as he took too long to hit his par putt, which he eventually missed, leading to a double-bogey.
Wolcott said he was “flustered” from the situation, but was able to bounce back with a birdie on the ninth hole, his last of the day, to finish in a tie for the lead. This is Wolcott’s fourth PGA TOUR Americas start of the season. His best finish is a T35 at the 93 Abierto Telecom del Centro presentado por Zurich.
This revised policy also recently took effect on the Korn Ferry Tour, beginning two weeks ago at the LECOM Suncoast Classic. Wolcott is the first player on either tour to receive a one-stroke penalty.

— Owning a restaurant was a pipe dream for Amber Farrington
growing up on a farm in rural Reynolds with a self-sustaining garden in a family that loved to cook from scratch
That dream became a reality for Farrington
co-owner of Roots Eatery and Pub alongside her brother
in 2018 when the siblings opened their farm-to-table restaurant in downtown Wolcott
using beef and pork raised right on their parents' farm just down the road in Reynolds
And now, that dream has landed on USA Today's 2025 Restaurants of the Year list
standing as a local favorite and one of the 44 top places to eat in America
"Food has always been a big part of my family
and the main thing I wanted to do with Roots was make it feel like you're eating a meal at your parents' dinner table
but elevated to where it's restaurant worthy," Farrington said
and you feel like you're right at home here while you enjoy a comforting meal

The stars of the plates ordered in this Wolcott restaurant are the pork and beef
produced locally in Reynolds on Farrington's childhood farm
The commitment to using local products in her restaurant was one Farrington said she's passionate about
which is part of the inspiration behind the eatery's name
"Being able to use the meat from my mom and dad's farm really helped this restaurant feel like it's connected to the area
and that's how the name Roots was formed," Farrington said
it allows us to highlight some of the best Midwestern food out there in a small town."
Classic items like their hamburger are top sellers
but it wouldn't be an Indiana eatery and pub without a pork tenderloin on the menu
It can be a bit difficult to find a well-rounded salad in small-town restaurants
so Farrington said she wanted to be sure their menu offered one
beyond a typical bowl of iceberg lettuce and shredded cheese
because you're trying to appeal to a meat-and-potatoes crowd
but keeping things interesting with the menu is a tricky balance," Farrington said
"We do use a lot of bacon and cream cheese in our dishes
was important to me as someone who loves a good salad."
It's hard to go wrong with a classic burger with American cheese
This top seller is made with beef from Farrington's family farm
A Hoosier favorite that can be ordered breaded or grilled
this house-made sandwich is not quite as big as some of the viral sensations that have graced the internet
Riding the line between paper thin while still juicy
you can top this one with your preferred favorites
Fish that isn't fried at a Midwestern eatery may sound a bit odd
but this dish is one you'll be cleaning your plate after
A baked haddock filet topped with parmesan cheese and a tomato-garlic garnish
this plate comes with two sides to complete your meal
Farrington said this sugar cream pie is partly inspired by a recipe by her grandmother's old German recipe for a sugar cream cake
this sugar cream pie is one that can't be passed up after a comforting meal at Roots

(WHAM) — An unfounded computer-generated threat prompted a lockout Tuesday morning in the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District
according to Wayne County Sheriff Robert Milby
school officials of North Rose-Wolcott Elementary School discovered a message that was left that described the intent to do some threat of harm to the school and to the students at the school," Milby said
The school was placed on lockout around 8:15 a.m
after school officials learned of the potential threat
Milby said investigators worked with school resource officers to determine the threat was not credible
"We have detectives that are specifically trained with forensic investigations
"They're able to run down some of the clues that were left in that message in order to determine that it wasn't a credible threat."
The elementary school day had not started yet
Elementary students who were on buses going to school at the time were either bused back home or reunited with their families at another location
While classes at the elementary school were canceled for the day
classes continued at the district's middle and high schools
Milby said his office worked to ease student concerns
we brought our emotional support animal to the school district
and he got a little social time in order to make them feel a little more comfortable in their environment," Milby said
The incident remains under investigation. North Rose-Wolcott, along with all public schools across New York state, will be closed Wednesday for Lunar New Year
Milby said law enforcement will always use an abundance of caution in these situations
"It's not that we're getting used to this," Milby said
"What we're getting better at is procedures and policies in order to protect our kids."
