substantial change in beta the “Recents” section featured folders like Camera and Screenshots in a 2×2 grid format and all the files within it would open in a grid view But the Recents sections might soon get a major overhaul if the changes we can see in beta version 1.4374.x are anything to go by In the latest beta version, the “Recents” section displays a carousel of rectangular cards that show a preview of individual files, including documents and images (via 9to5Google) This essentially makes your navigation to a document or image quicker given that you won’t need to tap into a folder to access a particular file You can compare the difference between the old and new interfaces in the outlet’s image below: 9to5GoogleAnother noteworthy feature that the reporting outlet spotted is that the cards within the carousel show the name of the file and the extension tapping the card will open the image or document in full-screen mode There’s also a See all option in the top-right section of the Files by Google app which you can select to view all your folders this isn’t the first time Google has used a carousel-style display within one of its apps noted that this feature is reminiscent The long awaited return of EA Sports College Football 25 is nearly here, as College Football fans haven’t had a title to play since NCAA Football 2014. Now, the game will be featuring some powerhouse teams and some real life moments such as the coaching carousel.  One of the best aspects of any football game is trying to bring your favorite team to the top, and this will be relevant for all College football fans, as there’s over 100 FBS schools for players to choose from. Just like actual College Football, coaches will be on the move quite a bit, especially during the off-season, and EA has noted the following into how this lengthy process will work.  The carousel kicks off during Conference Championship week. During this week, all coach contracts are processed and schools determine if they want to fire, extend, or let a coach’s contract expire. If your school has decided to fire or extend you, you’ll receive an action item notifying you of the news. If you are the head coach, you’ll also be able to fire your coordinators during this week (more on that later). Once you advance the week and arrive in bowl season, the first round of job offers go out. If you received any job offers, you will be notified via an action item titled “View Job Offers”. If you did not receive any offers, you will have a generic action item titled “Coach Carousel”. Pressing the action item will take you to the coach carousel screen where you can view any job offers you have, as well as all of the open jobs around the country. Just because you didn’t receive any offers in the first week of bowl season or if you didn’t like the offers you received, doesn’t mean your carousel experience is over. Remember, the coach carousel takes place over the course of multiple weeks. The first week of bowl season is just the beginning. As schools hire and poach coaches from other schools, their previous jobs will become available as an unexpected job opening and the schools will look to hire a replacement the following week. There will be a countdown in the top right corner of the Dynasty Hub informing you how many weeks are remaining until you change jobs.  Giveaways, gaming gear, our discord channel and more: Do Not Sell/Share My Personal Information© 2025 Turtle Beach Google Search is testing replacing the article carousel format with a list view format of sort This shows the articles in two columns with a show more button instead of a carousel of article cards you can toggle through This change was spotted by Brodie Clark who posted about it on SERPAlerts notes and on X "Google is testing out a new layout for the articles carousel Instead of the standard carousel format for articles Google is instead showing two rows of the articles that can be expanded to view more." Almost every ecommerce business has a presence on Instagram these days, but are you using every feature to your advantage? Instagram gives business owners multiple ways to showcase their products and attract new customers: You can upload video content as Reels Of all the Instagram post types, carousels see the most engagement—2% to 4% higher engagement than any of the others. For brands, carousels offer an additional way to display their products and services, build a brand story Here’s how to create Instagram carousels, along with ways to incorporate them into your social media marketing strategy An Instagram carousel is a post containing multiple images or videos.  Carousels allow users to upload up to 20 cards in a single post for viewers to swipe or click through so they’re perfect if you want to upload a lot of Instagram content without making separate posts for each image or video It’s possible to uploadcarousels as organic posts or ads. A carousel ad includes a clickable call to action Your carousel posts and carousel ads can exist in various placements Carousels offer storytelling opportunities in that your business can relay its message over several slides in the same post. For example, if your business is launching a product with several key features you’d like to showcase each slide can focus on a specific product feature your audience gets all the essential information without being overwhelmed by too much data in one photo carousels see higher engagement rates than single-image posts Users are more likely to view carouselposts for longer taking the extra time to discover what the other carousel slides contain And if your followers don’t look through every photo during their first interaction with the carousel post Instagram will present the carousel to them again later if a user swipes through only the first two images of a carousel Instagram will show the carousel post again starting with the third image (where they left off) Shopify comes with powerful tools that help you list and make sales on Instagram from one place Follow Meta’s guidelines to uploadphotos and videos optimized for Instagram carousel posts: Follow this step-by-step guide to upload your first organic Instagram carousel post: log into Instagram and tap the “+” icon at the bottom center of the screen Desktop users can find this icon on the left side of the screen where a grid of your photo gallery appears at the bottom.  Tap the square icon (next to the camera icon) on the right side to select your media for the Instagram carousel The square icon turns blue to indicate you are in carousel mode drag your cursor to select multiple files to upload select all the images you want to include in the carousel post a number appears in the top right corner of the picture This number indicates the order in which the photos will be published.  Each image or video you select appears on the top half of the screen Adjust the crop of each photo or video by placing your fingers on the image Now add filters or edit the lighting of each image if you want Reorder the photos and videos by selecting one and dragging it to a new position Song selections appear in a row at the bottom of the screen Select the “Browse” option on the left to search for a song Tap “Next” to advance to the last step.  it will prompt you to write a caption or add a poll where you may ask your followers a question encouraging more engagement with your carousel post select “Tag people” and type in the username Select “Add location” to type in a place you want to highlight This pushes your carousel post to the feeds of your followers and to the Explore page where other users can discover the content The process for creating carousel ads is somewhat different than creating organic carousel posts: select “+ Create” in the top left corner of the screen Define your advertising goals by choosing from awareness choose the account you’re using for the carousel ad select which photos or videos you want to include as cards in your carousel You can directly publish your ad or schedule to post it later you can analyze its performance metrics in the Ads Manager You can tailor your carousel any way you’d like to best execute your business goals Whether you’re looking to showcase products or develop your brand narrative Consider including multiple products in product features in a carousel Fitness tracker brand Fitbit used this method to show parents how the Fitbit Ace LTE can keep their kids active and safe with features like a goal tracker and location services Each carousel card incorporates text and photos to highlight the product’s different functionalities.  A post shared by fitbit (@fitbit) Carousels like this one can help your customers easily understand your product without having to read a long description or spec list You can also leave the first comment on your post to ensure you get any additional hashtags or information beyond what you added in the caption Posting multiple angles and photos of your product can help customers better understand its dimensions and appearance—especially if they don’t have the opportunity to interact with your products in person you could post a picture of the front and back of your product and a video of the product in use Spark curiosity among your audience by using several slides for one photo When viewers see that the first slide shows only a partial image they may be inclined to swipe right to view the rest of it canned cocktail brand Juneshine achieved this with a carousel post Graphic design platforms like Canva offer Instagram carousel templates you can customize If you don’t want to use professionally designed templates you can always experiment with your own layouts Sometimes a picture isn’t enough to capture a moment. In those instances, sharing multiple videos might work best. Carousels offer a way for your brand to recap brand activations or events giving followers who couldn’t attend a behind-the-scenes look Osea Malibu posted a collection of videos to share its End of Summer Market event with its audience The carousel postshowcased multiple collaborations allowing followers to get to know the community and people behind the brand.  A post shared by OSEA (@oseamalibu) Sharing with your followers multiple videos from an event or videos focused on a day in the life of your team can paint a clearer picture of who your brand is, providing the opportunity for a deeper connection. Reels are videos you upload to your profile. They have an exclusive section on your profile, so visitors can scroll through them without interacting with still image posts. Carousel posts, on the other hand, can include both photos and videos. Both Reels and carousels can appear on your followers’ feeds and the Explore page. An organic carousel post can contain a maximum of 20 images or videos. Meanwhile, a carousel posted as an ad can contain a maximum of 10. To schedule an Instagram carousel post, select “Advanced Settings” instead of tapping “Share.” Then toggle “Schedule this post” and choose the date and time. Tap the back button and then “Share” to schedule your carousel. Join millions of self-starters in getting business resources Unsubscribe anytime. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Adam Mosseri (@mosseri) “Historically we’ve shown different metrics for Reels vs but we want to evolve this so it’s easier to understand how your content is doing regardless of the format,” Instagram head Adam Mosseri writes in a post about the update “Reel Plays” will be relabeled as Views views will also become the primary metric for photos Views will measure the number of times a Reel started to play or replay and the number of times a non-Reel appeared on a user’s screen Instagram says that it will be introducing Views as the primary metric in the coming weeks and the update will help creators better understand how their content is performing While views might be the new primary metric Mosseri also advised that creators pay attention to “sends per reach” as well Sends per reach is the rate at which a user sees a piece of content and share it via direct messages (DMs) Mosseri says that both factors are “probably the most important metrics for anybody trying to understand how their content is doing on Instagram,” he says Instagram has been working to re-frame how creators prioritize different metrics in order to shift the focus off of follower counts Instagram’s algorithm was primarily focused around the creators that a user had chosen to follow now an Instagram user’s main feed is largely dominated by content they don’t follow but that Meta’s AI-driven algorithm has selected for a user this may be why views is becoming more important as a metric on Instagram   Image credits: Header photo licensed via Depositphotos customizable Instagram carousel templates and start creating beautifully designed content for your feed now We chose carousels as the photo format to test against Reels since they are traditionally considered the most engaging post type on Instagram Carousels are more interactive than single photos so people tend to spend more time engaging with them In fact, as recently as October 2022, carousels had the highest average engagement rate of all types of Instagram posts (0.62%) video posts (aka Reels) were right on their heels with an average engagement rate of 0.61% Hootsuite’s own I tagged my favorite maximalist account, Jungalow (1.6M followers), in the Reel and the carousel to see if user-generated content (UGC) yielded any additional traction A post shared by Sarah – GTA Vintage (@dwellingonthepast) My “available items” recap post followed the exact same format as in Weeks 1-2: A post shared by Sarah – GTA Vintage (@dwellingonthepast) carousels received significantly more likes and reached more people than my Reels My UGC didn’t yield any direct results (the brand liked my post but didn’t share it) I wanted to take a look at how content format affects ad performance on Instagram For this bonus experiment, I boosted post #5 because the content of these posts is quite broad, and my Reel uses non-copyrighted music (Instagram doesn’t allow users to boost a post with copyrighted music.) My goal for this ad was to increase profile activity I allocated the same dollar amount to the carousel and the Reel and let both ads run for 48 hours before pulling the results The post-ad results are split between the carousel and the Reel but the Reels ad yielded more profile activity But here are the final numbers at the end of my experiment: Note: I didn’t include ad results here to make sure the comparison is as fair as possible it seems like carousels are still the top-performing post type on Instagram If we look at the likes throughout my experiment the carousels outperform the Reels every single time While Reels earned more comments than carousels carousels did better on every other engagement metric carousels perform slightly better than Reels I also had a look at how the past three weeks had affected my follower count and engagement rate: are Instagram carousels still outperforming Reels yes: Instagram carousels continue to earn more engagement and reach than Reels do whether carousels are better than Reels depends on your content type and audience I run a small business selling vintage items A carousel allows me to post multiple photos so prospective buyers can inspect items before purchasing so carousels will always be more valuable to me than Reels carousels perform better for my account overall Different content types lend themselves more readily to video so think about the kind of content you’re creating and how your audience will consume it If videos make more sense for your account But don’t post videos just for the sake of it My data shows that this doesn’t necessarily pay off Keep your audience in mind when creating content follow these steps to see how your audience breaks down: I need to prioritize this demographic when developing future content I’ll continue experimenting with my content mix and check the metrics regularly to see what resonates with my audience Want to see more experiments? Great content is one way retailers can fight their way out of being yet another transactional site in the SERPs particularly if you are being elbowed out by some of the bigger retail brands consider acquiring one of the review sites that is doing a great job in your niche you may want to consult your SEO team before you do as Google may not be too crazy about vertical plays like this Monitor which content sites rank in your target TPC Perhaps there’s an opportunity for an affiliate partnership Given the prominence of the Top Products Carousel this is real estate you can’t afford to pass up and entrepreneurs to optimize and grow their businesses -- and careers Google seems to have added a new carousel to the movie search results named "why to watch." An image of an ugly carousel horse has gone viral across social media with users posting the goofy creature into iconic film images the official Film Crave account posted a first look image of A24’s We Live in Time a tear-jerking romance film about a couple played by Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield who are trying to make the best of a fatal cancer diagnosis The image features the two sharing a cute moment on a carousel with the horse awkwardly rearing its ugly head in the frame; carousel horses aren’t always beautifully sculpted but they’re usually a bit more aesthetically pleasing than this The horse, sadly, doesn’t appear in the film’s trailer but its intrusive appearance in that image and its stark contrast to the subject matter of the film and the internet fell in love at first sight Contradictory images tend to make great memes; the clash between the earnest heartfelt moment and the buck-toothed carousel horse seemed to spark a surge of creativity Comedian Pallavi Gunalan was the first to point out the creature “photobombing” Pugh and Garfield X users began to insert the horse’s head into other places it didn’t belong The image even inspired fan art—the horse was so prolific that users began making memes referencing the surge of horse head memes on their timeline The horse emerged from a promotional film image so others began pasting it into other famous film stills The meme quickly made its way into movie posters Some of the images became surprisingly high-effort and elaborate; it became something of a competition to see who could create the best image It’s unclear if the flurry of ugly horse memes will draw more attention to We Live in Time or simply become an annoyance for Pugh and Garfield’s press tour There was some debate over whether the inclusion of the horse was a terrible mistake or a stroke of genius from a social media savvy promoter silly meme that seems to have sparked something of a creative streak in film Twitter The old-time carousel sits in a corner of the Pacific View mall’s food court the ostrich and other hand-painted animals never spin The ride that for decades was a landmark at the Ventura Harbor Village moved to the Ventura mall nearly three years ago in what seemed like a rescue A sign once promised the rides were on the way Officials of the mall who long declined comment said the shopping center now owns the ride The man who bought it from a Ventura Harbor arcade died two years ago after falling in his steep Camarillo driveway A Pacific View spokesperson said the mall is considering moving the carousel possibly placing part of it on display as a memorial to the rides' history She said they are interested in donating parts of it for use in a community art project and want to talk to area artists “We’re trying to find out what’s the next step for it,” said Tish Cabezas “It’s probably not going to stay in the same place It sort of depends if we get any interested parties." Though it's built to rotate in unchanging circles the carousel has traveled a ride worthy of a roller coaster by a Kansas company called Theel Manufacturing The horses and other animals are made of cast aluminum The steel upper rim is lined with red and blue lights and decorated with women’s faces It is believed to have come to the Ventura Harbor in the 1980s where it became the Ventura Village Carousel horses and the pink pig with tusks as calliope music played Their parents sat on a wooden bench that is still part of the ride “I remember going there as a kid,” said Tristan Thames of Ojai Tristan’s father and a longtime Vons grocery store worker owned other games operated at the arcade that housed the carousel When the former owners decided to sell the business in 2001 He operated the arcade for more than a decade selling homemade fudge at a snack bar and harbor souvenirs in a gift shop Tristan Thames remembered one promotion where adults dressed up in pirate costumes and rode every animal in the ride “My dad kind of always liked the carousel,” Tristan Thames said “He really got a kick out of people having fun.” Michael Thames died unexpectedly in November 2014 Tristan Thames took over the business with the help of his mother though Tristan Thames pushed for a longer deal Changes came when the harbor developed plans to renovate the building and lease it for businesses, including a beer garden. The strategy brought drama that included newspaper stories, Ventura Port District board debates and a save the carousel petition signed by more than 4,000 people Tristan Thames put the carousel up for sale He prepared to dismantle the ride and store it in a shipping container outside his home in Ojai an 80-year-old man came to the arcade and waited in the crowd of families for a chance to meet Thames They talked for an hour about the carousel The man had read about it in a newspaper and didn’t want to see it go away “He wanted to buy it and preserve and have it somewhere people could enjoy it,” Thames said The man came back the next day with a cashier’s check He was a Wisconsin native and longtime Camarillo resident who once worked at what was then the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Port Hueneme He served on the Pleasant Valley School District Board in the 1970s Flynn told a reporter that decades earlier he used to take his children to the arcade for rides Deanie Scarangello of Camarillo said Flynn was a longtime friend and asked her to help with the project He told her he wanted to leave “something behind that was joyful.” She said his passion convinced her to become his partner trained as a paralegal and involved in business management contacted the Camarillo Premium Outlets and the Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks in search of a home Then she reached out to the Pacific View Mall She said the Ventura business was interested in replacing a carousel that operated for about two years in the food court but closed during the COVID-19 pandemic She said the history made her think the transition would be relatively easy Scarangello and Flynn formed a corporation She met with Tristan Thames for lessons on how to assemble the carousel She hired a friend to airbrush some of the animals Plans to open in August 2022 were pushed back to November Scarangello said there were permitting issues involving using the mall's electrical system to run the ride Ventura city officials said they were working with the owner on code compliance “Our staff did not receive any further inspection requests,” said city spokeswoman Jennifer Nance Mall officials said the ride never ran because it was not compliant with state requirements Scarangello and Flynn had their own conflicts She sent his lawyers angry messages accusing Flynn of withdrawing money in their joint corporate account demanding a settlement in which Scarangello acknowledged Flynn was the sole owner of the ride Flynn's former lawyer said he could not comment Flynn’s sons did not respond to repeated messages Scarangello said the lease agreement with the mall didn't include a monthly rent but instead revolved around a percentage of profits She said she received an eviction notice from the mall but it was not enforced The horses and camels stayed in the food court mall officials didn’t respond to questions about the carousel and its future “We weren’t able to talk about it,” Cabezas said Flynn fell on the steep driveway of his Camarillo home He died later that day at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks according to Ventura County Medical Examiner reports Scarangello said she didn’t know of the death until a reporter told her earlier this year Mall officials said the passing played a role in pushing the ownership of the carousel into their hands but said they didn’t know the details The mall issued a statement expressing interest in a display that commemorates the history of the carousel Cabezas said they are “totally open” to donating parts of the ride to an artist Scarangello disputes the mall’s claim of ownership asserting the carousel was owned by the corporation she formed with Flynn She still talks of the possibility of the ride operating again “I would still put something on the bench with Mike’s name on it,” she said of her former partner Tristan Thames now works in custom cabinetry He neither has nor wants any claim to the carousel He said he would be happy to see it run again but understands that may not happen He’s OK with a future where the reindeer or the horses are part of a sculpture somewhere It’s better than it Bulgari approached Fremont about a collaboration for Art Basel the Roman house hosted them both on a research trip of some of the city’s historic sites several of which have undergone restorations gives you this agency to imagine what it would be like to be a person morphing into another kind of being.” He adds of the partnership with the Italian jeweler: “To build a connection with such an He also is founder of the popular Odd, Mysterious & Fascinating History of Pittsburgh page on Facebook “We’ve been searching for years to find a place for the museum so it’s unbelievably generous of Ken to do this for the community,” Schalcosky said the West View borough building and other purposes after it closed in 1963 Interest in West View Park has grown significantly based on the comments people make when items or photos are posted on the West View Historical Society page West View Park also generates great interest on the Ross Township Historical Society page, which has 10,600 members. And nearly 10,000 people also are members of the West View Park page on Facebook A number of rides from the park were sold off to other amusement parks after it closed But many items simply vanished once the gates were closed to the public after the end of the 1977 season “The park sat vacant for several years before they tore it down for the shopping center so people would just go in and take stuff,” he said “Over the years we’d occasionally hear about an item from the park that was out there for sale we felt everything was pretty much gone and never to be seen again So every time we’re able to get something related to the park One of those finds occurred in late November when a woman posted on Facebook Marketplace that the seven inner panels from the park’s carousel ride were for sale who said the panels had been stored in a hayloft in Donegal for the past 40 years,” he said They’re in beautiful condition and are a perfect addition to the items we’ve already collected This is something that everybody remembers from the old park so it’s wonderful that they are finally back home in West View,” Schalcosky said encircled the inner section of the ride where the organist played Historical society member Tim Binz purchased the panels and transported them from Westmoreland County They will be stored at the old movie house until the museum conversion has been completed Schalcosky said the artist who adorned the panels with colorful Disney characters — 92-year-old Jack Nofsinger — also has been identified but we’re going to contact him so we can learn as much as we can about the panels,” Shalcosky said “And I think it would be wonderful to have him here when we have our grand opening.” said historical society member Beth Shellhaas “We put the word out on the historical society’s Facebook page that we were interested in items from the amusement park as well as other historical items from the North Hills,” she said “We got a lot of responses from people who said they were going through their parents or grandparents attics and basements and found things that we might be interested in “It’s amazing that younger people who don’t even remember the park are so excited about this We’re lucky that they reached out to us instead of just throwing these things away,” she said Some of the items collected include original fencing from the park a set of colorful clown faces that adorned a children’s ride vehicles from the “kiddie” car ride and hundreds of photographs there are plans to display mementos in the collection from local schools Shellhaas said the West View Historical Society is in the process of merging with the historical society in Ross so they can apply for grants and technical assistance to complete the museum project who runs a flower shop in West View where some of the collection is being stored said it’s easy to gauge interest in the long-gone amusement park “It’s amazing to see the reaction from people who come in the store and spot something from the park that is on display,” she said “They love to share their memories of being at the park I’ll pull out a few more items that I have for them to see.” Shellhaas said the historical society still has lots of work to do — including coming up with a name — before it can open the doors to the new museum “We’re at the very beginning stages of this part of the process,” she said “For many years we’ve had a vision for a place where people can relive some of the wonderful memories of old West View Park and the communities in the North Hills and now it’s starting to come together.” Tony LaRussa is a TribLive reporter. A new low … not even funny; the guy made no attempt at all to ‘fall’ on to the carousel maybe you could find some cat videos that are actually cute and/or funny The motors that power those carousels are 3-phase 480V that generate enough torque to chew up someone’s arm like a meat grinder All it would take is for one of those backpack straps or clump of hair to get caught in a pinch point and this dude would be having a really bad day I have personally seen a technician get the skin flayed right off his hand by getting stuck in a pinch point I have not witnessed any baggage system fatalities Be safe and don’t play around on these things Gary Leff is one of the foremost experts in the field of miles and frequent business travel -- a topic he has covered since 2002 Co-founder of frequent flyer community InsideFlyer.com, emcee of the Freddie Awards, and named one of the "World's Top Travel Experts" by Conde' Nast Traveler (2010-Present) Gary has been a guest on most major news media, profiled in several top print publications, and published broadly on the topic of consumer loyalty.
