PRAKTISEER-A tragic incident occurred on Friday, March 28, 2025, when a two-year-old toddler, suffering from a nosebleed, died after being turned away by nurses at Praktiseer Clinic. The child, whose medical file was reportedly unavailable, was denied immediate care by the clinic staff. It is alleged that the clinic’s refusal to provide treatment led to the toddler’s death before they could reach another clinic located approximately five kilometers away. This heartbreaking event has prompted the Department of Health to express deep concern and pledge a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The department is committed to understanding what led to the tragic loss of life and ensuring accountability for the actions of the healthcare providers involved. The Department has also reassured the public of its ongoing dedication to providing quality healthcare for all citizens, regardless of their situation. The department emphasizes that no one should be denied medical attention, particularly in emergencies, and will take necessary steps to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
