Four suspects, who are believed to be behind incidents of ATM bombings in Limpopo, have been remanded in custody until Monday for profiling and possible bail application. The suspects appeared before the Senwamokgope periodical Magistrate’s Court in Polokwane.  They were arrested on Saturday morning at Sephukubje village, after information about the suspects who planned to commit ATM bombings in Tzaneen. “During the arrest, the police recovered items such as three Ruger 44 rifles, 40 live rounds of ammunition, three Expolgel explosives, a number of blasting cartridges explosives, balaclavas and hand gloves, among others,” said Police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba. The police have arrested seven suspects aged between 35 and 45 for cases of alleged assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and murder following the death of a 35-year-old man at Itireleng village after he was struck on the head with a blunt object on Saturday. According to the police, a violent feud ensued between initiation school educators and community members over the weekend at Itireleng village under Sekgosese policing area, over the playing of loud music during the initiation period. It is alleged that the two groups attacked each other with stones where several people sustained injuries, and the 35-year-old man lost his life. Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the suspects were arrested on Sunday and three of them are facing a charge of assault GBH while the other four were charged with murder. He says the four suspects charged with murder will appear before Giyani Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, while the other three suspects arrested for assault GBH will appear before the Senwamokgope Periodical Court soon.
